Getting Lost in the Desert of BeamNG's Largest Update - BeamNG Drive

well hello there everybody Dre here and I hope you're ready to get Dusty because we are checking out beamng's biggest update yet and it is all about off-roading well actually that's not true because it has the longest straight highway uh of any official map as well but uh yeah obviously as you can probably tell uh we're on a desert based map this is actually said to be beamng's biggest update yet which is impressive if you've been following the game in the last couple of years they have been releasing so much and what's truly shocking is everything has been free so yes welcome to Johnson Valley this is a massive desert with a bunch of different things to do uh it's got a lot of rock crawling of all things so if you were a fan of rock crawling uh there's a lot of that obviously there's a lot of Dunes as well and well definitely there is a lot of sand I'm just trying to look around right now and I'm kind of Blown Away by the size of this map compared to the other ones that we've seen yeah this thing is absolutely huge also we have have five new vehicles Yes you heard that right five new vehicles with unique variants this being one of the new vehicles oh my God this feels so good already I can tell uh they have re-done a lot of the features in this game wow I am actually blown away I haven't driven this yet and this just feels so good in the sand you would expect that being that it is kind of Built For This you know so yeah I don't know what we're gonna do today I definitely want to check out the new vehicles uh we're starting oh god with this one that's all right it is totally fine we're just gonna explore this map and have some fun doing some simple off-roading I want to see how long this thing can last let's also appreciate the suspension I should also mention suspension has been totally updated I'm not gonna try and explain what they have done but they essentially made uh customization of suspension way better and I can definitely feel it with this vehicle already oh oh there we go that's gonna be a big one took that turn a little too tight I mean I think this thing actually might be okay there goes all my body panels though they're just added weight who cares all right there's definitely more problems than body panels I am having some suspension issues as you can see I'm turning as hard as I can to the left not really going that way oh what is that out there there's a massive Mountain that way yeah this thing is definitely broken there's something hanging out the front as you can see mind you it did last way longer than expected and well it's still technically running so it's still fine but yeah I uh I don't want to putter around this place there is a lot to explore here I love the small details this side up pit crew uh yeah I was looking there's actually some new uh mechanics in some of these vehicles as well I guess it's not in this one let's actually change these vehicles we'll definitely come back to this thing because I didn't really give it a chance but look at this we got the stam Becco which I believe has the new automatic Tire deflation uh which is gonna be great for off-roading I don't even know which one I want here let's go for kind of a generic one right now let's get this one with the outer roll cage on it so we'll replace and see if we can do a little bit of crawling with this does this have it okay so what do we got here we got transfer case locks uh rear diff probably front diff locks yes we can go into lower high range box uh this doesn't have the new mechanics I know this vehicle does though so let's find a variant that actually has it all right yeah you know what it's probably these race variants so let's go for the rally and see if we got any new controls in this oh this is fancy and yes here it is right here so we have the typical off-roading things that we've seen before diff locks and whatnot but yes now you can actually deflate and inflate all the wheels so you can turn on the front rear one and rear two I'm assuming there's two sets of rear wheels then yes indeed there is so right now I believe they're pumped up we are in the sand so it's kind of hard to tell you can actually see the air hose that automatically deflates these things this is so cool like I nerd out with these mechanical things so let's just try and deflate everything I guess so we're going to engage that and yeah you can see we're going downwards now I think that should be enough probably and we should have yes we definitely have flatter Wheels I probably should have did this on tarmac so it'd be more obvious but we are kind of out in the desert all right and this is kind of designed for this type of terrain I don't know if we'll be able to make it up here wow this isn't low right now it feels a little too fast for me I am not very good at off-roading but I'm gonna give it my best shot with these new Fancy Feet okay what is going on this thing it can't be in low is it okay it isn't low the gearing just seems to be quite aggressive I guess all right maybe I'm not the guy who should be showing you how to off-road because I keep stalling it when I go too slow I don't know if this is really built for this type of terrain it might just be you know generic sand dunes and whatnot I mean it's doing it it just keeps stalling well it's definitely a lot better when you don't have arcade gearing on I I don't ever off-road guys I'm sorry I like to have my automatic gearboxes because I don't like Switching gears but yeah you generally don't want that when you're doing off-roading now it makes a lot more sense why I was stalling so much and this thing is actually fantastic at getting up this stuff now as you can see that I'm keeping it in gear one uh definitely has the torque to deal with this and it's so nice to see that BeamNG is really focusing on off-roading I think it's a big genre of fans that uh the game really didn't focus on too much so now this game has a little bit of everything for you we're actually gonna make it at the top of this like I climbed a freaking mountain with this thing I did not expect that a little bit of scraping there but it's fine we shouldn't get buckled down as I said that I got buckled down on a boulder come on man all right I might be able to get out of this if we can get a little bit of grip there we go oh god oh okay okay it's fine it's fine I'm a professional I am not a professional I am not a professional come on just just stay oh my God it actually stayed holy crap we might actually do it oh oh okay well I thought I had it for a second oh God I mean oh there goes a wheel I think that was a spare I don't even know where that was oh there's where it was it's one of my back wheels fell off this is so fun I don't know what the hell I'm doing but I'm having a blast doing it I cannot turn around for the life of me come on okay okay this is okay oh my god oh here we go again I swear I'm not trying to screw up this badly I'm just good at screwing up well I mean I probably could have saved that if I knew what I was doing but that was fun of course I couldn't get rid of this vehicle without trying the fire variant uh yes you know what if you need a vehicle like this to put out a fire just let the sucker burn I mean do we really have to have something like this dude this is like the suspension I don't know if every vehicle had updated suspension it just feels so good okay this this terrain is getting a little too crazy I didn't expect the roadways oh my God the roadways to be essentially rock crawling courses this is insane maybe we should actually try the rock crawling variant so yeah there's a lot to go through today but yeah we have somewhere in here okay yeah we have the rock Basher which I believe is the old buggy the what's it called the piccolina except it looks way more badass so we have a bouncer a crawler and a racer I don't know the difference between a bouncer and a crawler I guess the one has Nos and that's probably it let's just do a generic rock crawler for right now I want to see this thing and appreciate wow that looks so cool look at the air intakes at the top all right this is a perfect spot to try out this thing though uh we should probably actually put some of this stuff on all right let's just keep going here see if we can actually do a little bit of rock crawling in an actual rock crawler my God this feels so good I almost want to try and go up something but I think I'm just gonna follow this Trail obviously it's kind of intended for something like this anyways it's crazy how many rocks are truly on this map I don't know if I mentioned this but this this update has been two years in development and I mean you'd think you know it's a simple desert why would that be so hard but when you look around and really appreciate the true details of this map you can truly see why they spent a long time building what essentially is the perfect off-roading map can I finally make it up a hill we got so close last time I think we got the vehicle we need to do this no don't tell me I okay I didn't bottom it out let's just put it in neutral give it some gas that was not smooth but I got through it all right we are bottoming out but if we can keep the grip on all four wheels oh this is the spot I was worried about okay come on give it some gas nope that's not gonna work I need to realign this wheel I'm not gonna get over that Boulder probably there we go there we go I think I might be able to get over now yes yes I'm doing it I'm rock crawling oh my God oh my God oh my God please don't flip it just let me get to the top what am I stuck on give it gas there you go sometimes power is key did I do it did I actually climb a mountain okay I will I will say that's a complete success oh look there's the RV park with all the fun track stuff let's go that way Full Throttle baby and that's to be expected we're just doing a stress test right now I don't know if it's passing or failing but it's fun I mean the engine still works that's the important part right the front axle is totally broken off the only thing holding that together is the suspension okay correction I lied when I said the rock Basher was uh based off of the piccolina uh it looks very similar it might actually be based off of it one of the new vehicles is essentially just a variant of the piccolina but I would say it's a whole new vehicle I mean look at the old piccolinas and look at these Baja spec classes so um let's just go straight to the extreme why not there's so much to show today so yes another buggy very and this will be a great time to try this thing out because we are on a track right now look at the roll cage that goes around the suspension dude I love the design of these things and man does this thing sound like a beast oh my God this is too fast this is too okay well there's the end of the track broke another wheel off Domi oh my God look at the lean Look At That Lean so dude I can't get over how great the suspension spin right to the side almost looks like they'll fall off God I am having so I I don't think I've had this much fun with an update in BeamNG this game has needed something that was off-roading focus and it's so nice that we got that now I'm very excited to try some jumps with this thing because I want to see if this suspension can handle it I think it actually broke it's not looking too good it's definitely broke now oh my God the freaking trail goes up the mountain like this incline is actually insane how did I fall the opposite way of all things okay I am not showcasing these vehicles very sorry mind you maybe we should go to the chiller Chiller variant there's nothing dream about me let's do the spec class let's stay in Spec here for the time being ah there we go some nice rounded Wheels this one looks really cool too but yeah it's not insane anymore good all right this is actually a little too timid I think we need a happy medium this one's too easy now all right so yeah the middle one is definitely for me this one feels so much better oh and I can actually control it no I can't no I can't I lied I lied I can't control it I'm sorry God damn why am I so good at ripping wheels off all right let's do some Dune jumping though so we got a desert bash Baja just sounds like we have to cross literally the whole map so this will be fun I think we just go wherever the hell we want oh yes this is what I was waiting for the the true Dunes in the middle of nowhere so I don't I mean there's there's no Trail I just gotta make it across this oh I'm using the scary one again great oh this is what this thing's made for though just Dune crawling okay this is probably gonna be a huge drop but I'm full throttling it yes this is what I was so excited for I'm gonna destroy this thing but I'm gonna have fun doing it it's probably gonna take me a couple tries we probably don't want to Full Throttle this and yes I am already missing a wheel I am this is gonna be a record of uh losing Wheels in this episode all right we're getting out of the dunes which is actually scare right now I gotta probably worry about rocks I mean I should be able to just soak up rocks right actually this doesn't look too bad mind you we got way harder ground okay rocks rocks okay everything's fine we are good I think we're good oh I really miss the dunes this is I've already went through this part of the map it's extremely technical I think I'm gonna go I don't know rights probably makes the most sense I might even just stop following the trails it's not like they really help they're just there's Boulders everywhere oh God maybe they do help all right I'm saying once we get away from this Rocky Zone it looks like it does clear out out there so I just gotta make the final few feet here oh yeah there we go now we're opening up I can maybe throttle this thing down once we get away from this let's go nice and slow don't want to break that suspension like I have been doing so well okay and now we might be able to pick it up a little bit all right I'm just happy I did first checkpoint legit did not break anything it only took me like what three tries that's actually not bad now we just got to figure out where to go from here oh that's it why don't they check with one or two oh I guess technically the first thing was the first checkpoint okay so I did it I actually wow I did everything look at me I am a natural alright as I said don't think this is just for off-roading though we do have a highway on this map and the longest highway of any it's not a big Highway only two lanes here clearly but we are in the middle of the desert I don't know which way we should go but let's see if we can open this sucker up and uh actually appreciate how truly insane this highway will be this would be great for doing like police chases and whatnot all right and this is what it's referring to when it says it's straight because it's been a little windy not too bad uh but yeah I'm actually gonna change this variant because I don't like maxing it out I want to see how fast we can truly go all right so we got the race version out now see if we can do a little bit better than 170. oh there we go now I feel better and yeah this is just a perfect straight Runway oh 200. and I've even maxed out the race variant looks like we're ending the straightaway anyways I think there is another straight on the other side as well oh that's gonna stop okay I didn't hit a telephone Bowl we are okay all things considered that was a very light crash considering I was going 200 miles an hour I think I blew the engine though nope okay we are good still we are not good we are not good I cannot turn to the right I have destroyed the thing all right guys well that was just a quick look at Johnson Valley obviously very much scratched the surface as you can see there's a bunch of like no man's land where you can just do some Dune running and then you kind of got the square of fun inside the middle which is really what we focused on so that kind of shows you how insanely big this map is now there is a few more things I want to show you guys with this new update so let's move on to a different map okay and this is what I'm really excited about there's been something like actually let me look at the actual number 31 New Missions across five maps have been added there's two new Mission types there's new collection missions but what I'm most excited about is evade which is essentially police chases uh so I found one on East Coast I've never done this uh but I know you have to get to like a safety house without being caught uh so it's essentially GTA all right and here we go you dug out a secret treasure chest from the town park but the owner saw is furious the police have been called quick take the treasure to the fishing Village and drop it off at a secure location these missions are so cool they're already right beside me oh great okay well this will be interesting I don't know how I'm gonna be able to evade them we even got like the GTA wanted levels at the top it looks like and that's their Vision oh dude this oh god oh excuse me I'm sorry this is so cool though so you actually do have to hide from them so probably going in a straight line not the smartest idea let's do some off-roading because we've been doing so much of that in this episode we'll go hide in the woods oh hi cop you seem to hit a tree there maybe you should stay on the roadway okay there we go so we got cops everywhere it actually wants me to go through police stops so I guess I should stay to the roadway for that and just try and get ahead of these guys all right I think I'm at the fishing Village problem though cops are still very much all around me so I don't know if I'm gonna be able to do this okay if I'm actually losing vision this might be perfect get in there get in there don't you look at me don't you stop I'm stopped now Escape Escape what I thought the point of wait what am I supposed to just chill here I don't think they're coming so yeah I think you're supposed to get away oh you bastard I was almost done okay so now I do actually have to get away because the one cop comes and sees me God damn it man but yeah I get the idea I dropped off the goods now I just gotta lose the heat I think we're good this is a nice windy Trail I think I did it first try and the criminal lives on baby okay didn't do very well for this one I guess I won in under five minutes ago me all right we're at beautiful Italy for the final one because I wanted to show you some damn it I thought I could break those let's try that again look at this yes indeed we have beamng's first amphibious vehicle the FPU y drop I didn't expect this to ever be in BeamNG but I have to say I love it the redneck in me is very excited about this one so yes this thing floats it also smokes like crazy probably because I hit that pole I don't know why I love this so much but I do and the absurdity only goes to the next level with the other variants of this this is just the very basic one and I actually not burned this thing out but by the time I get to the beach that would be great okay but look at the absurdity of this what that what where what is this like a low rider okay I didn't expect them to get this weird why what what is the point of this I'm assuming it still floats right oh my God it really floats why is it so low you would think they'd lift up the frame I mean maybe so it's got a low center of gravity so it doesn't flip I have no idea it's just it looks weird it's like an off-roader and a low rider all in one how's the torque on this thing can we actually like go up hills yeah it's actually I mean if the grip was better we we would be good all right this is a real redneck you you know you're a redneck when you put a race number on your amphibious vehicle I just want to see how fast this thing was oh my God it's so hard to control with the skid steering like it just it doesn't react when you turn it all right but I think you guys get the idea this is just such a fantastic update if you want some more off-roading vehicles in this game well this is the update for you A lot of people ask me what game do I suggest you guys buy and honestly it always goes back to BeamNG because the developers are just so amazing any other developer would have charged for some update like this but BeamNG has had a base price for 10 years now they haven't changed and it truly is just such a massive game now and it is so fantastic I cannot recommend BeamNG enough if you are a fan of vehicles I've never been sponsored by them for the record I am just a true fan so uh yeah I hope you guys enjoyed this very quick look at the new update we'll obviously be playing a lot more of these in the near future uh but yeah I just wanted to go over these things real quickly have some fun and BeamNG and yeah I'm super excited to do some more off-roading in the near future as always guys thanks for watching and liking I'll see you in the next one
