Get Started with Daz Studio: An Interactive Tutorial

brand new to their studio and not quite sure where to begin fret not we have you covered in this interactive tutorial [Music] hello everyone I'm Jay and on this channel we're helping you become better 3D artists with Das Studio we want to give everyone who's new to their studio and trying it out for the first time a really smooth ride into the application I understand 3D applications can be really really intimidating but that's why I'm here I'm here to help let's talk you through what you need to do in the next 20 minutes to load a figure dress them up post them and come out with a handsome render by the end of it this is of course Dash Studio I hope you've installed it and installed the Genesis 9 starter Essentials already the first question you might be having is hey Jay your interface looks completely different to mine what are we gonna do fret not let me reset everything to something that you can also follow along with it's up here under window workspace select layout let's both select the same layout that that studio comes with in your installation which is called City Limits Lite if I select that and hit except down here then everything is going to be reject and you and I are going to be on the same page there we go this is what we're going to be working with and I just want to make a couple of changes just so that we all focus in on what's really important the aux viewport at the top right is showing I think I want to go and switch this to the scene tab this means I can see what items are in my scene I'm going to go and left click and drag the second yellow strip not this one this one here left click and drag that down so that we have a little bit more screen real estate up here I'm going to go and get rid of the white aspect frame that I see here with the hamburger icon click on that and disable show aspect frame and then on the left hand side here I'm already showing my smart content tab make sure you're on that and not on any of the other tabs here smart content is what we're going to use to bring in all our content all I'm going to do down here is I'm going to click on info and then we have more screen real estate to look at so that is your first challenge get caught up with me make sure your interface looks exactly like mine go and select the city limits light interface and pause the video here I will see you in a moment
