GeoServer (Web GIS): Web Map Service (WMS) Publishing with Shapefile [EN]

Hello, I am Mr.M from GIS4Dev I this video I will explain you step by step How to publish WMS with GeoServer Firstly, I would like to talk about GeoServer data directory Normally, If you want to put data into the GeoServer You need to put data into "data_dir" folder I copy my data and paste into this folder I will give you the example data under this video Secondly, I will talk about GeoServer workspace At GeoServer I type username "admin" and password "geoserver" And then press "Enter" In this page you have permission to create a new workspace Click "workspace" at the left panel In this page you will see all of workspace Click "Add new workspace" In this example I type name "gis4dev" namespace URI "gis4dev" And then "submit" for create a new workspace Thirdly, Create store Click "store" on the left panel Click "Add new store" In this example I will publish WMS with shapefile Click "Shapefile" Change workspace form "cite" to "gis4dev" Type "world" into data source name And type "world from shapefile" into description box And then "Browse" file My file is located in data_dir/data Click "world.shp" choose DEF charset "UTF-8" And "Save" Next step I will publish WMS service Click "Publish" You can type abstract for this layer, what ever you want You can add new keyword for this layer here For this example I don't add any new keyword You can add metadata link here Metadata must complies to FGDC and TC211 Now you need to set bounding box of this layer Click "compute from data" GeoServer will compute bounding box from your data automatically Click "compute from native bounds" Scroll down And click "Save" Now you have finished publishing I will try open WMS layer which you published Click "Layer Preview" on the left panel And Click on "OpenLayers" This page will show you the layer which you published This video explain you only basic WMS publishing If you have any question you can comment below this video Now I have to go Don't forget like comment share and subscribe to my channel Bye bye, Sawasdee Krub
