hey what's up everybody welcome back to another genin impact reaction today is a very important one a very big one because it is arinos and fun fact I actually know that arino is a translation of Harley Quinn so that's interesting I can see that in the design the image on screen kind of makes sense more with that color scheme now but I'm more intrigued hearing that and knowing that so it's like maybe second cool thing is that I saw the comment that this was voted up for and the reply below it was like I've seen a lot of like people being negative about it because it is EDM I've also seen some scattered comments about this set of Boss themes being negative because it is electronic in general or it just doesn't hold up to the hype and I am immediately before even starting going to call BS on that so I'm interested in hearing what this is now purely because when something tends to be hated there tends to be a reason for the hate and usually that's just sheer ignorance and I'm really intrigued at what this has to offer knowing all the comments that I've seen and the opinions people have on it already it's not going to sway my opinion but it will be interesting to see if I can at least level with why but I'm figuring I'm just going to love it because that tends to be the case with me and gensin music in general so without further Ado let's [Music] go ooh hold up I'm going crank my audio a bit ooh H we starting spooky and [Music] diminished ooh oh yeah I'm feeling The Vibes already ready on this one o oo oh that's so cool ah oh man sorry the piano accents were making me geek out a little bit [Music] ooh ooh there's the base all [Music] [Music] right I really love that mysterious Edge on all the strings in here oo this build it's got so much presence it's already kind of reminded me of the L your uh boss themes just the sheer presence of it less so the music itself ooh the Chimes with the orgon of [Music] course hey whoa hey hold up get it yo what you know this is not what I expected them to do with the whole EDM thing I didn't expect the beat I'm sure there might be another Evolution on that but that's definitely not the one I expected to hear [Music] first oh the dissonance in there ooh some very like minute dissonance underneath some of that you can hear it pretty well but it's one of those things where if you're not paying attention you might not even notice that was a lot of brass build oh oh oh is this the transitional part okay [Music] ooo [Music] um uhoh oh no that pulse such a classic way to build that tension where's it going where's the tension going ooh oh what a cool intro o oh that was a really cool glitch effect [Music] there and given that the uh editor put a bunch of glitching on the screen I'm wondering if that's like has something to do with the character [Music] maybe wo oh man the movement on this it's so much more expanded everything got faster oh no the tension's building I'm hearing electric guitars oh [Music] no nope it's like you can't have it [Music] yet beautiful vocal [Music] that's so so cool just mixing in the Opera to [Music] this all the presentence on that so cool it sits on on top but it's Blended in just it's nestled [Music] oh ooh ooh oh oh that's filthy hey it's back there's the beat that's what it ties into oh my God that [Music] fall that crank to those triplets on that synth [Music] dude I love [Music] this just tying in these genres dude all of them ah I love that singing blending in operatic vocals is just one of my favorite things it's so cool it always sounds cool all right that blend at the end there has got to be one of my favorite sounds dude that's so cool opereta vocals being mixed with like dubstep is sick I love that I think I've heard that before from genshin I can't remember what song but I think I've heard that approach where they blend those two together and it always sounds so powerful the operatic vocals are of course extraordinarily powerful to sing opera you need some pipes you need some major support the diaphragm support to sing opera is insanely intense and then throwing something so aggressive like dubstep in with that and having all these growls and everything turns it from such a tragically beautiful sound to something that's a lot more aggressive and oppressive it changes the overall emotion of what you're hearing from something that could be otherwise beautiful or sad mostly to something that's a little bit more angry and there's some disdain there maybe some pain mixed in there it's no longer just anger or just sadness that tends to be kind of the root of Opera is a lot of emotional highs and that's where it sits and dubstep just has that sound of all that aggression because of all of that cranking that happens on the syns and the way that they're built out there's just a lot of grit to that there's a lot of Bas of course and it just has that drive to it literally in the mix there's a drive to it and blending those together to make this sort of like melancholic anger like they're very frustrated about a situation happening at this moment they're confused maybe there is a complex emotion happening between those types of music that blends so nicely especially when you have it supported by such a strong vocal line and then underneath of that having all these beautiful supporting vocals this like chamber choir of voices underneath that supporting what the main voice is singing about and just making it feel that much more intense that alone having that choir takes it away from just arino having a really bad day or having the worst possible day to having a backup like they're supported by some something what that is if that's like a cult if that's like a situation that they put themselves in where they have power something is supporting her to be up there and just wreak havoc just wreck it's and that's something that's very consistent with a lot of these genin boss themes is that sense of power that scale that sits with them they're not alone per se it's the concept of a villain that has a reason to be mad or sad or just depressed even that supporting sound just subconsciously Roots itself into the listener and makes you go huh maybe there's a reason for that maybe they're acting like this for a reason and even without knowing the story you can pick up on those sorts of things and it even presses more when you do know the backstory behind a character or you're actively discovering it while the boss theme is playing it can happen either way and I love that that they nail that consistently every time with genin their composers are brilliant from upang Chen onward it does not matter who's tackled it their boss themes are gorgeous but to get into stuff that's a little bit more Technical and nerdy I love in the first phase how it had some of that extra oomph like all the vocals were still there minus the lead singer which I think of course supported that second half even more it really felt like the main villain has arrived rather than just being the supportive part of that song it was just added on to but I digress this was really neat because there was a lot of the devil's cord quote unquote the trone that is an amazing tool for just making things feel so off it was what I was nerding out about during that portion where it sounded so dissonant and just really really off-kilter because that's not something that in the west at least musically we are very familiar with at all I mean it's even known as the devil's because of some historical basis regarding the church and how they treated hearing notes that were not harmoniously standard and while they made that standard these sorts of things were seen as improper uncouth Etc it just didn't fit the mold and whenever you use them people would be like oh that's disgusting oh that's the devil's work it's so bad we don't want to hear that but of course that's never actually been a bad thing and when it's used artistically and creatively and carefully it can really add to a chord and it can change the entire approach from something that was in a minor chord before feeling sad maybe to this which feels off-putting it feels unsettling something's going wrong here but not quite as bad as that second half where it Blended that sadness and that tragedy into the anger it just had the sadness and the confusion part of that we hadn't gotten angry yet which is just so cool and if that doesn't line up perfectly to a phase 1 and two of a boss theme I just love the attention to the compositions that they spend over there at hoyo mix and just really really nail that every single time it's always a little bit different like I did mention that this did remind me a little bit of loras just because of the approach of that whole blend of anger and sadness but this one definitely just cranked up that anger more it felt much more Angry it felt much more off-kilter like she was going to do something that would break the Geneva Convention bad like yeah lasor was bad archelino is going to like take out an entire continent like that's what I was feeling here like she is prepared to quite literally end Earth and that is a scale that needs to be adjusted for when you're making the music for the character you need to be able to properly set that up and I think between these phases they did that masterfully and speaking of transitions of course that transitional part in the center I mean it was small but it has such an impact to the overall feel of where things are going to be going that giant swell it leaned into that you're like oh am I done oh and then it stopped and you're like oh am I done I'm done right nope no it's getting worse again and then it builds back into another swell that changes the sound of what we had just heard and it's that oh moment that really Clicks in your mind when you hear that happen you're like oh no the model on the floor is moving I don't like that uh it's just I mean again a simple spot in between the two phases just a way to connect him in the game but approaching that properly in order to give the proper tension relieve that tension and then build it up again is just a very careful game you have to play as a composer these are amazing tracks I love both parts of this equally I love that second part like I mentioned I wanted to talk about it first just because I had just heard and I was nerding about it but that first half does such a great job at setting up the characters motivation why they're doing what they're doing and potentially a little bit of a sneak peek into the reasoning why the emotional mindset that she's in in that moment which we definitely get to see later but you have to be able to peek around the curtain before you open it up all the way and that's really what that did and especially that transformation spot was like straight up just whipping the curtain out of the way and you're just going oh their boss themes always knock it out of the park and I see no reason to hate this that apparently people are hating it they're stupid I said it and I said it on record if you don't like this for some reason then you just got small baby brain you really just need to sit in the music and understand the emotional approach as to why certain things are done and approach it in a theoretical sense why the music theory is happening that way not everybody is a musician I'm not a trained musician either I just hit stuff but at the end of the day I've always loved that about music how it can be approached in different ways to approach different emotions and tie that back to whatever the subject matter is and this song does that beautifully in its own way and I love that blend of sounds I'm also not at all biased in genre so that probably helps thought I keep yapping so thank you all very much for watching if you want to see more gench and impact stuff leave a comment down below of what I should get to next hopefully something else this awesome and otherwise if you just like this video and and you want to follow me and support me and see more you know how to do all that and I'll see you in the next video goodbye [Music]
