Gear for Appalachian Trail thru hike 2024

hi um I'm going to go over what's in my pack for the appalation trail but first I have really good news um my my company is going to let me leave a week early because my bosses are awesome so the only thing is I have to work the next eight days in a row um and I work 12 so I'm going to be really tired when you see me next um but otherwise it works out really really good because um it turns out my friend's going to be in Atlanta so she's going to pick me up and take me to Amicalola Falls and the trail kickoff is that day too so um hopefully there will be people there that can show me how to hang a bear bag and use my stove I think that's it all right so here's what's in my pack well first I'll start with what I'm going to wear so all right I got this hat cuz it's really big and I thought this way will protect me from the Sun all right and then I have um for my under layer I just had this shirt from like 10 years ago it's just like a Hanes black shirt it's lasted forever so I thought maybe it will last forever on the trail too um that's it and and for my mid layer I have an arcx um Mid layer with a hood underwear bra and then um arteric pants this is what the guy R told me to get so or wait no my friend picked these out he told me to get the shirt so that's what I'm going to wear hiking and some ining socks and I got um this buff I've seen a lot of people wear it and so I'm in good company I got I got this face shield but this might be more applicable to where I'm at I'm in the Arctic and maybe maybe this is overkill but anyways it's a Bala clava and it goes over my whole head I have some um uh possum brush tail gloves and then for Camp I have a ninja suit this is a Mareno wool ninj suit from head to toe it's like a giant onesie and some wool socks that's for Camp clothes and then I have Camp shoes they're 6 and2 o total they're just like a noname brand I'll put a link below if you're interested in them I don't know how well they're going to hold up so that's what I'm going to wear and um oh and then I'm going to have my shoes which are the um speed goats and I got some dirty Grill Gators okay that's closed and a neck knife I'll have to figure out how to use it wait perpetrator let me get my knife open yeah I guess I'll have to practice with that anyways that's for protection um for water filtration I really went between the Sawyer squeeze and this guy so I I landed on this one this is the katad and B free just because I saw so many comments about people saying with the sorya squeeze like you have to make sure you have extra rings and it can freeze overnight and break or you can't screw it on too tight or else it can break so I was like you know this one just seems a lot easier the only thing I'm worried about is um just seems really flimsy so hopefully it won't break so that's for water I got one of these towels I don't know what I'll use it for but everyone seems to have one so um and then for repair kit I have I have lucco tape mle skin and then I have um some patches for clothes and for the tent and stuff like that hopefully I won't need it all right for electronics Luckily everything I have has a c charger so I'll bring my my iPhone which also has SOS capabilities and I have this anchor charger and it was rated really highly um but it is a c to C and then everything I have is C to C so I so I have um these two guys but then I was watching um this man's YouTube the other day and he was like don't bring those dinky little Chargers which are what I have he's like get a long one or else it'll be miserable so maybe I'll switch those out and then I have two 10,000 amp um anchor Chargers I have a night core headlamp and then I have um that I have wired headphones also a [Music] c and then I have um I'll go that way next and then I have my hygiene kit inside this I have like girl products so tampons and panty lighters and then I have a hairbrush and a [Music] mirror I'm going to probably cut my hair before I go toothbrush toothpaste I have these little tablets that you you rehydrate with uh water and then to pair with those I have these little things called foam in Rose soap thins they're really little I tried them out and they actually do foam up quite a bit there're it's 100 in this pack and they're really little and then I can combine that with water and keep clean and I also have um Lumi deodorant to try to keep somewhat clean as clean as I can floss toothbrush I'm not going to bring any makeup which is going to be very difficult so you guys will see what a catfish I am and um yeah I guess I'm just going to go natural grow out my mustache just look awful oh there's my Lumi is it okay to have scented deodorant I don't know all right so that's for toilet trees and then um oh my for a raincoat I got a cork ball tuo it's over there now um so I got a poncho it's a I believe this one is also C to Summit yeah a c to Summit I'll have to put it in the link below but after I got my pomcho everyone's saying oh don't get a pomcho those are just the worst they're terrible they're loud and they flap around and they're just awful but I just don't want to wear rain pants rain pants sounds terrible to me um so I might end up changing this out since everyone says it's the worst so maybe it Mount crossies I'll have to switch it out I don't know but this fits over my pack so that's nice all right for sleep I have my thermarest NeoAir and that comes with a stuff sack I mean not a stuff sack it comes with a blow up bag so that's nice maybe I could put my clothes in it sometimes I don't know if I'm going to keep this or not this is a pillow and everything I've read everyone says the pillows are terrible cuz they slide around everywhere so I thought maybe I could put my coat inside here in the summer when I won't need my coat but I think I'll be really cold so I'll probably wear my coat so maybe in the beginning I'll have a pillow we'll see how it goes and then oh I forgot I have a puffy jacket I don't want to take it out because it's folded so nicely I haven't learned how to recreate how to fold it into a hood yet but yeah this is my puffy jacket I'll figure out what brand I have everything written down so I'll put it in the link below if you guys are curious how much everything weighs and costs and all that um I have a Enlightened Equipment a zero Z degree quilt um and it's green and gold and yeah it's rated for 0 degrees but I think I'm going to be freezing anyways so I also got this um CA Summit thermalite reactor extreme and it's supposed to add 25° I don't know if that's true but that'd be nice if it was so I had that liner and then I have um down booties over here down booties and then I also have um wool socks and then this is my bear bag I think is what it's called my stove I have a toes pot and I have a BRS little tiny stove so I don't know how to work it yet but we'll figure it out and I guess the gas I can get it the lodge I hope and then this is just full of meals and then I have a titanium spoon in here and then for my tent I have the zpx duplex and it takes tricking poles and I have the carbon fiber Gosser gear kind I don't know if it's good or not but hopefully I got a fanny pack I have a feeling I'll switch this out cuz it is kind of small but I figure I'll keep my electronics here and maybe some snacks and for my pack I have the gossamer gear wait yeah goser gear maraposa 60 and it's pretty good I went to like five different stores looking for backpacks because since I am in the Arctic it can take like two months to get stuff sometimes it takes a long time so like internet shopping wasn't really an option so when I went to Anchorage I went to REI none of the packs fit me none of them I was there for hours and I tried on everything and then I went to a a backpacking specific store none of their backpacks fit me um um none of them fit me cuz I I have like Nar narrow shoulders so like whenever like the backpacks felt great except for when I would move my arms I couldn't I couldn't move them so I went online and I asked you guys and some of the ladies recommended the maraposa so if you have narrow shoulders or maybe you're larger busted go with the Mariposa 60 because that's the only one that worked and then I have a Kula cloth which is for I guess after you shake off after you pee wipe yourself cuz it's like silver infused and it keeps you sanitary and then I have a Garin enr mini in case I get lost and then inside I have it lined with one of these I nof Flume and I'm really ner is my sleeping bag going to get wet do I should I put the sleeping bag in The nof Flume inside the other nof Flume let me know cuz I I'm I'm very nervous about getting wet I don't I don't want that to happen um yeah that's my gear I don't think I have anything else that's all I'm bringing um hopefully I didn't forget anything a hat I need a freaking hat um I need a hat and and am I forgetting anything else I have no idea I don't I don't know but right now I'm scheduled to leave in one week and um I'm really excited I'm very nervous I have a lot to do because I have to move out of my apartment too and I'm working every day for 12 hours a day um and also thank you guys for following I'm so excited I I didn't think all these people would watch I'm rambling all right thanks for
