Gary Sinise & The Lt Dan Band Korea Visit

I were here at Dallas Fort Worth Airport about to get on the American Airlines jet it's going to take me in the Lieutenant Dan van I'm a Gary Sinise foundation produced tour to South Korea to play at Camp Casey in Camp Humphreys for the army we can't wait to get there detector I am Mike good to see ya when you're stationed far away like we are here in Korea sometimes you lose sight of what kind of support you really have from the American people Gary's commitment to supporting our servicemembers and their families and the band coming over here and playing for them it sends a strong signal to our soldiers that what they're doing matters [Music] Korea is a 13th largest economy in the world one of our closest allies and we've deterred North Korea for over 60 years now a North Korean adversary is 35 miles from the capital of South Korea so it's a very real and so present threat that our troops along with the Republican French roots deter everyday there's probably no place on earth where you feel the difference between freedom and slavery more than standing right here all right if everybody would turn around we're gonna take a quick photo ID to add to that one last picture let's get everyone inside back to that's pretty unique need for these guys to come down there close so now you're on the North Korean side here this is North Korea it's very bizarre you know because these guys they have no clue what freedom is they just don't have any clue look for you very interesting I'm Gary Sinise been supporting our military for quite a number of years this is my my band here the Lieutenant Dan band anybody here eck heard the band before anywhere before yeah maybe where awesome yep great in Germany great well we're still at it and so are you you know as long as you're at it will be at it we can never do enough for you in the military it's important that you know that when you're far away from your families and far away from home and you're defending our our country and the freedom of the world that you know that we care about you so that's that's why I'm here just to make sure that you know that okay hey do you think we could get like if I jumped right in there do you think we could get a picture yes sir Aereo Lieutenant Dan band and Gary coming over there that's a real morale booster he's very comfortable with soldiers sailors airmen Marines with their family members I think he'd want he cares but - he understands what it means to serve and he understands what it means to the families and he's sincere about it and they they sense that right away thanks for coming out here it's my pleasure thank you [Music] [Music] let's go say hello to us up over here I never thought I'd get to meet you that's pretty cool well I never thought I'd meet you but I'm glad I did sometimes people come up and they have pictures I made the cover how about that different places that I've been able to go I've been deployed four times and every time you came to Iraq or Afghanistan here I was on mission no kidding so I'm glad I caught up with you you know that means a lot to me I want them to feel that by my coming back again and again and again there's a consistency and support where you do for the soldiers Catholics it means that thank you thank thank you sorry appreciate it's alright that's good just it's nice when they're out of the front pages serving all around the world like this I seen you there for her we thought your showing when they feel citizens are in the game with them a little bit you know I think that makes a difference at least I hope so hey babies here hi guys we really appreciate you coming and supporting deserve it I never met her before haha a very awesome come here the band an item good over here everybody coming to the concert it's alright good good I'm glad you're come it's always good to have this after a meet and greet and one lie got questions is it some nice or Sinisa nice that's what the Italian Italian is soon easy that's it the enison easy Hey [Music] it's hard to describe how amazing it is to play in this band being a small part of Gary's mission is it's always been an honor that's never changed it's only gotten better okay again we get to do something of great value to country tour troops and families and so it means a lot to me to be part of that you know there's just a different more profound sense of purpose comes down from Gary something he's really passionate about he's so dedicated to his mission everybody is appreciated going to military bases playing for the troops to see all them out there having a good time smiling those are the moments where they're kind of pinch me moments like I can't believe I get to do this oh this is amazing [Music] I'm asleep don't we go Oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm going to Springfest see Lieutenant Dan everybody knows what you tell Dan so for him to come out here and show in support of the tubes we have soldiers we like that it's just a great event that's being brought out here you know definitely raises morale someone coming out and doing a free show for the soldiers really helps inspire them and know that somebody out there cares we work really hard really long days and sometimes we're in a foreign country we get a little lost and so something like this it gives us something that we can all do together as a team you can never have too much home whenever you're away from it so when we get to see bands and anything that reminds us is home it's wonderful and he brings that patriotism and the American Way to Korea which is nice and we're coming through Anchorage Alaska and they got fall again and lucky enough to see the show there so you know when people come out here to see us that's that's a big deal Lieutenant Dan [Music] all right we ready to rock tonight Gary Sinise is a big supporter of our military our military families around the globe in harm's way with us to give us an entertainment I just can't say enough about this van and what they do just know what they do it for you okay ladies and gentlemen let's welcome Gary Sinise and the Lieutenant Dan band [Music] we have an all-volunteer force as you know in the 70s we did away with the draft so people serve in uniform because they want to serve and it's not just the soldiers the sailors the airmen of the Marines but it's also those families and what the families are because our soldiers sacrifice we sign up for that families don't necessarily sign up for that [Music] Oh Oh [Music] to keep every citizen benefits from the freedom that you provide we got to do everything we can for you so god bless you god bless america remember there ain't no mountain high enough there ain't no Valley low enough there ain't no River wide enough to keep me from getting to you god bless you god bless america let's all sing this last song together thank you everybody when I was just focused on doing theater and my career and building that up and that all those years laid the foundation and the bedrock for what I'm doing now and the foundation has sprung from all of that we produced these shows here in Korea and we produced this wonderful tour we got a lot more great things to do coming up this year it's been a great 2015 tour of Korea thank you [Applause]
