with so many different headsets to choose from picking the right one may be the biggest and toughest decision a gamer will make in their entire career especially if they're trying to go pro let's face it you could have the sharpest monitor the most ergonomic keyboard the fastest mouse and the best wall hacks but none of that matters without an amazing headset yep the headset is without a doubt the most important accessory for a pro gamer and it's not even up for debate so i'll tell you about some of the best on the market today the razer black shark v2 pro may be the best wireless headset on the market today full stop it's a very versatile headset compatible with pc nintendo switch xbox and playstation it's a bit toned down compared to the non-pro version since it has no leds and bright green colors but this is unmistakably a gaming headset it's very comfortable for your head and the mic quality is incredible which makes the headset good for conference calls and virtual hangouts as well as just gaming the sound quality is what you'd expect from razer making it an all-around solid headset that'll cost you a good 180 bucks but if you're a console gamer then you're probably better off with the 100 razer black shark v2 even though it's wired it has better isolation than the pro version and sound sharper on console both headsets are great options steelseries is another brand known for their gaming headsets and the artist pro is their best one yet the wired arctis pro costs 250 dollars and comes with a game deck which can be used to customize settings the wireless option doesn't come with a game dac but gives you more freedom at a higher price 330 bucks to be exact the arctis pro series is made up of some of the most expensive headsets on the market but are they worth the price i sure think so the headsets are very comfortable and the game deck gives the wired version plenty more options making it my preferred headset of the two the headsets have great audio and incredible surround sound with the only real con being that the mic seems to peak easily that being said if you're an xbox gamer i would recommend the wireless version logitech g-pro x is another great high-end wired headset option and just like the first two headsets i talked about it has pro in its name so you just know it's good right off the bat i'm going to let you know that this headset is better suited for pc gamers than console gamers because of the logitech gaming software app it's a bit annoying that you have to use this app to get the headset in a fully functional state which is why console gamers should look elsewhere but for pc gamers oh boy is this 125 dollar headset something special it's comfortable it sounds incredible and the blue voice software is pretty amazing it allows you to really customize all the teeniest tiniest things the mic seems to under emphasize bass a little bit but there's no denying that this is the headset for pc gamers who love customization turtle beach has been making solid headsets since call of duty's early days and their elite atlas aero wireless headset is a return to form for the company for 150 bucks you get a great all-around package with the elite atlas arrow it's comfortable fantastic for gaming and playing music compatible with many different systems and has some easy to use software oh and did i mention that it's wireless as for its cons well it seems to sound the best on pc and even though it's a comfortable headset it's quite heavy and can be tiresome to wear for long gaming sessions a lot of the controls are crowded and could be accidentally pressed quite easily i have no idea why the volume up and down buttons are right next to each other but the sound and customization options are more than enough for hardcore gamers there are so many hyperx gaming headsets that it's hard to single out just one to recommend but the cloud revolver s would be my choice if you want a headset that's both stylish and versatile this is the perfect headset for you of course its price might deter you since it's a wired headset that costs 230 bucks but trust me you won't regret it it's one of the most comfortable headsets on the market you could seriously wear these babies for an entire day and not feel any discomfort they also sound out of this world the only cons and they're both very small cons is that the mic is a bit stiff and finicky and the cable might be a little too long for those who plug their headset into their controller all in all it's arguably the best wired headset out there bayer dynamic isn't exactly known for their gaming headsets but the custom game is on another level sure it's a wired headset that'll set you back a whopping 200 but this beast is built to last this headset won't blow you away with its style but it will with its sound and mic quality which is exactly what we'd expect from bayer dynamic since they're mainly a high-end audio company you could use the custom game as a daily desktop headset a lot of the headsets i've been talking about excel in more than just gaming but this is definitely the most versatile one of them all you're essentially buying two products in one the only downside they're a little bit heavy and bulky so it's not the most comfortable headset out there still for beyerdynamic's first gaming headset the custom game is a hit astro makes some of the most expensive headsets out there mostly only the pros use their headsets because they're some of the best on the market the astro a50 wireless headset costs 300 bananas so it has a lot to live up to but it's also a bit of a mixed bag don't get me wrong the astro a50 is definitely one of the best headsets money can buy it has all the bells and whistles you'd expect in a high-end gaming headset it looks great and it sounds great but the mic quality and build quality aren't exactly up to par with the other options in that price range it's not all bad though because it comes with a charging base that you could place the headset on in between sessions so you never have to worry about a low battery it's a great recommendation if you love astro headsets similar to bear dynamic jbl is a high-end audio company that has only recently gotten into the gaming sphere and their quantum 800 is a solid all-round wireless headset it has a great design to it and i love the sky blue jbl logo but i might be a bit biased since it's my favorite color the only problem with this headset is that you'll need to be a pc gamer to access most of its features but it's loaded with features including solid noise cancellation great sound and mic quality and strong face it seems to have a sculpted sound signature that isn't completely accurate but it's something you'll be able to get used to after a few hours for 200 you could do much worse than the jbl quantum 800 especially if you're looking for a headset that isn't just limited to gaming now none of these headsets i've talked about so far have been gimmicky but that's about to change with the corsair hs60 haptic and i think you could figure out the gimmick by its name corsair is known for their incredible quiet keyboards but don't sleep on their headsets the hs60 haptic is one of the most unique headsets out there because it provides haptic feedback and will rumble to truly immerse you in the game the thing is the whole rumble feature is a bit inconsistent it doesn't happen every time that it should the mic quality is really good and so is the sound quality but it's just a little too bass boosted you really feel each explosion in game and music lovers will really enjoy the headset for 130 bucks the hs60 haptic is a fun alternative to more traditional gaming headsets the audi z penrose is a 300 wireless headset that's well worth the price the name just sounds so classy and that's exactly what this headset is it's for those who are willing to splurge on great sound and versatility what makes the penrose so unique is that it uses planar magnetic audio drivers it's hard to explain exactly what that means but all you have to know is that it gives the headset elite sound some of the best sound i've ever heard in a gaming headset but the thing is elite sound is really all you're getting with this headset the mic quality is average and you could get more features in less expensive options but if great sound is what you're after you can't beat the audi z penrose the penrose is the headset with the best sound on the market even if it's lacking in other areas well i never said these professional quality gaming headsets were going to be cheap if you want to be a pro you'll have to pay up like a pro no two ways around it which is why i'll just stick with my hyperx cloud 2 headset since i sadly have no plans of ever going pro
