[Music] uh [Music] there we go what's up guys jordy here for cinecom.net and welcome to the live stream i hope that everything is going well because uh it took me a little bit of time to figure things out right here uh so let me know in the comments guys um how the video is how the audio is is looking like and or hearing like and everything because we have actually been doing these kind of live streams for a little time now on our second channel premiere basics and uh we had some technical difficulties over there with audio and video and everything so yeah i'm curious is everything okay are we technically okay right here uh in the meantime let us know something in the comments where you're from how you're doing because after all in this live stream i want to make this interactive and uh i want to answer your questions as i go through a a breakdown of the game over and he made it short uh so i can see that we have lots of people right here ah a little bit nervous right now um so yeah um this pre-recorded not adult this is life right now um so you can just go ahead and and tell me where you're from how you're feeling and everything and in the meantime let's get started with the live stream so uh if you don't know yet uh last week i published an animated short which was in collaboration with adobe and the first thing i want to do is uh go over that together with you so i actually i have this whole stream lapse thing right here set up where i can kind of like switch to different scenes look at that so now you should be seeing my desktop and uh let me go over so yeah this is the project by the way this is the entire project for those who are wondering how big this project is let's check it out it is 522 gigs that's a lot and it's a pretty big mess i know that i always say my tutorials like hey guys you have to be organized with everything uh well it started out pretty organized but as things got very hectic you know at a point we were working here at 3am in the middle of the night and at that point you just don't have time to be organized so it was starting to become a pretty big mess anyways uh where is it exports right here i'm just going to go quickly through it because i'm going to assume that you guys have seen game over if you haven't seen it yet then you can find a link to it in the description of this video somewhere but let's just go quickly over it right here so a little of the backstory um two weeks before this video was published um we had the assignment from adobe to make or to make use of their new 3d tools in after effects and to make some kind of a a story based video with that they call it the hero video um so in two weeks we had written the the entire story uh we uh had we created the concept we shot everything and then we edited everything um two weeks is not enough it's not enough time to make this entire video um so yeah i think that it would have gotten a month or something that it was probably a bit more polished uh but anyways it it's it apart from the very hectic deadline and the stress it was definitely a lot of fun to work on this project so basically what you're seeing right here is me in this um uh 2d game world and these are actually a bunch of layers uh some illustrator layers that are put together in after effects uh and we're gonna do that in just a moment we're gonna create our own 3d space and then i've keyed out myself and i got some great tips when it comes down to green keying an entire body and then we just placed ourselves in there and we animated a bunch of stuff and that's basically it it doesn't seem that much of work but it is and that's mostly because we just have a ton of layers to work with in after effects so every like this bush right here that's a layer in the background the trees that's layer um and so that was just a lot of work also the green keying itself that are actually at least three layers so every person are at least three three layers um also the animations right here all of that and that just makes a lot of work to put everything together and to start organizing and whatever everything um so yeah it was uh a lot of work a lot of work um the story itself is not it's not groundbreaking uh it's just basically me getting stuck into a game eventually i find my way out i find the la i fight the last boss it kind of fails and at the very end i i do defeat the boss and everything but then it fails again uh but it's a very um it's a story that fits in the 3x star structure uh if you look for that three act structure i can perhaps type that in the chat and at the same time gunner says hello from sweden hello there gunner so um tree act structure we actually made a few videos about that but if you look for that uh on on google or something you can find a very nice structure on how to tell a story almost every uh hollywood film is is using that and by using that structure you can actually just fill in the blanks like you need a setup then something happens then you got act one act two act three and then the finale you know and it's a very easy way to come up with a good story very easy very fast um and that's kind of what what what we did here uh with this uh with with game over again it's not groundbreaking it's it's a flat story it doesn't have much depth to it but it works you know it it is a story um all right let's get into it guys uh i'm gonna go back to my desktop actually uh should have gone to here here it is the project yeah let me just uh double click on this this is the pretty bit yeah and there's the other safe all right uh let me just expand this here are the layers of one scene this is the dragon fight we are at 131 layers that's a lot uh let me see there are uh what's happening jordy a lot of stuff is happening a lot of layers right now uh see yannick oh we got someone else who names yannick it's actually yannick um i am from germany just finished a wedding film oh that's amazing uh it's great to hear that that you're still able to to shoot weddings in these crazy times i don't think it's easy for us at the moment uh to to find work so yeah that's great to hear all the love from india a lot of people from india that's awesome all right um let's uh let me see if there are anything more questions perhaps from greece hello there george lives hello from greece uh i'm from belgium i'm doing great thank you uh from the netherlands uh lucas from the netherlands that's our neighbor country so next to belgium we got the netherlands and we kind of speak the same language it's a little bit different but we understand each other perfectly um from south africa wow it's so amazing actually to see all these people from around the world you know when i be before i was doing youtube i wasn't really in contact with the world and i only had like a vision of what belgium was like but since i was doing youtube more and more seeing all of your work because yes i do take a look sometimes at other people's channels or videos i read all these comments it's just amazing to see all of these different cultures and and ideas from across the world uh it really means a lot to me to see that so that's that's pretty amazing from the us gaming fps usa pretty cool um all right let's get going oh it's so nice to see all these comments all right from turkey there oh wow could you speak some belgius is actually dutch uh but yeah um my name is jordi that was my name is jordy all right let's get started here let's have a look at all the layers now so uh one of the tips that i can give for starters is to be organized so um as you can see it might not seem organized but it actually kind of is so the dragon scene had different shots and for every shot you can see here a group of layers um when we don't when we like when when the virtual camera like kind of pans away from the first shot we don't need those layers anymore so a good thing to do is actually make sure to trim those like like that and that gives you a better view of what that group looks like so that is one shot also if you go here to the left and actually select all the layers that you want you can click here on any of those colors and change that for example to yellow and that way you can also get a better instant view of of of what those layers are or where that group sits at uh it's i mean this is i mean in the final hours of making this uh uh an animated short we weren't as organized anymore so uh it's a little bit of mess but anyways um that's one of the tricks to make this seem more organized also if for example here on the bottom we're going to work on that scene here on the bottom so what i can do for instance is i'm just going to select all of my layers here ctrl a we have this little toggle right here which says shy you can hide layers in the timeline with that so i'm going to make sure that let's just start off by just making everything enabled or or be visible and then i'm going to like now disable the layers that i don't want so let's say all of these all these here on top maybe there's something here like this layer this is a camera i'm also going to disable or deselect that and now i'm going to save for all the other layers i'm going to set them to shy so what i can do right now is actually here on top you can find a button that says hide all layers with the switch shy so if i do that it will just hide all of those layers and now i actually have only a few layers to work with further which is a lot more convenient to only work on that scene so that is here the first part where i just enter the dragon cave look at that uh by the way guys uh playback can be slow in after effects definitely when you're working with all these effects and everything um one way to solve that issue is for instance uh we get the motion blur here so even though the motion blur is enabled for all the all the layers while i'm actually building out my scenes and everything i disable that for the global motion blur so i've enabled that we got motion blur and if i disable that we don't have that which makes it easier to work with the same thing goes for my camera and it'll actually go a little bit more in detail on that later in the stream into the camera options but basically we also have a depth of field option and that is also pretty heavy for your computer so while i'm working i would disable that and only enable that for when i actually start using that or start animating the uh the focus distance right here um so that's that for the two things that you can disable and then there is the preview so we got here our preview it's certainly set to quarter if you set it to it'll actually render out the full 4k resolution if you set it to quarter it will render out only one fourth of the 4k resolution which looks bad but it makes it easier to work with uh i can kind of i can kind of scrub through it right now which is pretty good but if you still think that it still goes slow you can actually go into custom right here and set a a a custom rendering for example set that to every 16 pixels um press ok and you can really see the the quality is decreasing but playback should go now a whole lot faster where is this direct almost played back in real time no that that's that's not true but uh it goes a lot smoother so there are a few tips to to make things go faster all right are there any questions by the way um about um this right here we're gonna uh what i'm what i'm gonna do now is actually start from an illustrator file next we're going to make a 3d scene of that and then i'm going to pull a key and give some great keying tips as well put myself in there and do like a nice camera movement of some sort so let me see if there are any questions uh related to this someone says hi jordy hi uh oh here is a nice question from nebula productions will you ever look at element 3d in after effects um i so element 3d is a plugin from video copilots it allows you to it's a i wouldn't say simple uh but it's it's when you get into 3d it's definitely one of those plugins that is easier to get into 3d with because it is a lot easier than cinema 4d and everything and it worked straight into after effects uh maybe in the future i don't know um because we don't like to make content that much that requires you guys also to purchase something i know that sometimes we have to do that but i don't want to start a tutorial saying like okay guys for this you're going to need a paid plugin etc because then nobody can follow unless you actually have the plugin uh so maybe i'm not sure but it's definitely a great great plugin uh definitely worth checking out um so let me check here uh oh as someone asks here grammy edits is a dragon custom made so because we only had two weeks time none of the illustrations are made by us we just went online using stock light libraries like storyblocks is one adobe stock uh we got there's free pick where you can also get a and a license for commercial use uh and there you can find these vector illustrations um that you can use in your work uh so none of this and also i i wouldn't be able to make all of that i'm i'm pretty bad at the illustration and illustrations i can make like basic stuff all right um let me see here uh some more questions can we do it in premiere or someone asks um no um premiere is for editing uh there are no 3d tools in there whatsoever i mean technically you could uh you could like stack the layers and and give them different position animations but it's a real mess you don't want to do that you don't want to do that it's after effects is made for these kind of things and premiere is made for just simple editing so uh all right let me see if there's some more questions that are pretty good um i see a lot of questions about the 3d software like uh using blender or oh we got a donation awesome shabir the woody thank you so much man i really appreciate that i hope that i'm not missing any other because i haven't been looking entirely at the shot the entire time oh i'm really sorry if i missed something um all right i'm gonna pay more attention to the chat for some reason i don't see the ah wait wait wait wait wait can i unpin yeah should i still need to figure out all of this live streaming stuff i really hope that i haven't missed any other donations anyways thank you so much for that really really appreciate it er anyways i was talking about um uh 3d software um so element 3d is is is i wouldn't i wouldn't say it's like blender or cinema 4d or something it's more of a plugin for after effects and it's easier to get into however it is very powerful um what is better blender cinema 4d 3ds max i'm i don't have that much experience when it comes down to 3d actually yannick and lorenzo are currently following a class online a cinema 4d bootcamp they are a lot more into 3d than than i am and i think all of these programs they're all pretty good in their own sense blender is free i would say if you really are starting out start with blender because it's free and if you feel like it's going well then you can maybe step over to cinema 4d as you get to learn more stuff if you feel like oh it's not my my thing to do 3d then you didn't spend any money because it's free um but yeah uh let me see [Music] i'm going to answer one more question now we're going to make some stuff right here oh yeah wait i'm still in in desktop view because i'm talking right now i should go to presentation view look at that all right um let me see here is the animation frame by frame that is a good question well no um we can create keyframes if you say um point a is a certain position and then point b is a second position you just create two keyframes and then your animation will go automatically from one end to another uh so this is not frame by frame but you know let's let's because people are asking now how to animate stuff so let's get into it what i'm gonna do is create a new let me just work can i work further in this project all right let me just try and do that no not import oh wait you guys can see me desktop there we go so i'm going to create a new composition and to make it easy let's just stick that to full hd and this is going to be the live stream comp look at that all right we're going to need some illustrations so i'm going to go over to my uh folder my very messy folder by the way guys i'm gonna apologize up front if you see weird file namings uh i'm sorry for that like sometimes we get angry when stuff uh starts to crash or something or doesn't cooperate and we start naming projects like stupid project or something uh so i'm sorry if you see anything of that uh uh vector assets oh man there you go vector assets so here are all the scenes uh let's take the uh i don't know what's a cool scene like the the the campfire let's take the campfire perhaps all right so ah i don't have illustrator installed all right bear with me guys i'm going to install illustrator uh there we go install yeah this is a laptop this is not my pc so that's why all right so while illustrator is installing uh let's nibs perhaps look at the green key and that is something that we can do so um let's go back to you i'm just going to double click to import a uh 3d file let me see here game over maybe copy that address all the way over here um green key green screen there it is prores so here are a bunch of green screen files um let me see um jordan's a small uh so that it goes easy uh fights ghost perhaps can i take that yeah perhaps do that fighting ghost all right let's take jordy fighting ghost there we go so here's the clip that we have so where i just stand in front of the green screen i'm fighting a ghost so um here is one of the first tips i can give about green screens let me set no idea for life again all right guys just hang on i'm checking if the stream is working again oh yeah we're back okay wow uh so yeah we've got some pretty bad internet right here uh i don't often do this but um since it has been such a problem where here we go there we go guys don't go to telenet it's pretty bad there we go we've been having nothing but internet issues with tl net right here for the past year and today it's ah it's so bad one of the most expensive internet providers here in belgium and uh one of the most crappy ones anyways let's continue guys i hope that you can hear me well that the stream is everything well again uh the live chat is that working i can't see it all right let me just get the chat back uh where is it there we go okay we got we got image does that work hang on guys [Music] give me one second [Music] there we go what's up guys jordy here for cinecom.net and welcome to the live stream i hope that everything is going well because uh it took me a little bit of time to figure things out right here uh so let me know in the comments guys the video is how the audio is is looking like and or hearing like and everything because we have actually been doing this kind of live streams for a little tiny yeah it's working all right all right so sorry here we go what's up guys jordy here for cinecom.net yeah i'm curious everything okay i hope that everything is sorry guys what is this oh yes i was looking at the screen oh there we go yeah no no it's fine it's fine guys it's fine it's fine oh man what a mess you see you see what tillenette is doing here to me all right i'm so sorry guys should be better now should be better ah no i did not screw up who says that i did not screw up the internet provider screwed up i was actually doing really well everything is going good now right yeah someone says lol that is always good having fun is it good now yeah this is good yeah i think it's good i think it's good yeah i think it's good we we're smooth okay all right let's continue now so green screen first we had an entire green screen i would stand on it but it was giving me a lot of um spill on my on my skin uh here a lot on my arms on my feet and everything so that's why we decided to just set up a regular green screen in the back uh and create two zones of lighting so you can see here these two light stands uh where is it these two these are actually some diy fluorescent lights and um they are shining onto the green screen but not on me so we've got separate lighting on the green screen and i would take a lot of diff distance from it and that would allow me to take or pull actually a pretty clean key and the only problem that we run into now is that yes my feet also have to be cut out but we're going to do rotoscope that now the great benefit of also keying yourself out like like that is that we can actually use the shadow on the floor now as well for the shadow of of of where uh we are standing of of the animated worlds um so that is also a great benefit if you're standing on a green screen that is almost not possible to use your shadow from there so let's do that guys um it's this one right here and i'm just going to drag that into the new comp perhaps scale it down there we go a little bit more so uh we're going to start off with a a mask a very simple mask we can take the pen tool here on top and we're just going to select like all of the green stuff there we go and i'm also going to select actually we don't actually need that we can we can go ahead and only select um the green screen like that there you go oops there you go because this is the part that we're going to key out and we can go ahead so now and go for something like the key lights which is used to pull keys there we go key lights with that we can select the green key and there we go the green is gone now if we go here to the view on top and we're going to say screen matte from within the key light effect you get a better view of what is being keyed so white is being shown and everything black is being keyed away so you can see that we still get a lot of noise here in the black areas so what i'm going to do here is go into the screen matte option and i'm actually going to increase the clip black and that should remove that a little bit if you see uh black dots or that same noise in the white areas you want to decrease the clip white right here until that is a little bit gone and that should give you a pretty clean key let's just set that back to final result right here there we go um i'm not going to dive too much into all the key and you can see like for example a small line you can alright by the way guys if you are keying set your view to full because that is going to give you a better view as well of how your key look looks uh we got a little line right here which we can kind of shrink a little bit with the shrink option maybe minus two or something so that will bite in a little bit into my arms making the key look a little bit better so that is that is i think this is pretty straightforward i mean this is how we pull a key you can find many tutorials about that on cinecom or in general on the youtubes now we want to get my feedback so how do we do that for starters i'm going to duplicate this clip right here so let's name this body and i'm going to duplicate that with ctrl d we've got it twice now and i'm going to call the top one feet there we go and from that i'm actually going to remove the key lights now yeah yeah no yes yeah no just just keep it there it doesn't matter it doesn't matter but i am going to remove the mask there we go we don't need the mask uh so what i want to do right now with the feet is actually i'm going to rotoscope that out so to do that we double click on that layer there we go to open it up in the layer window and right now i'm actually going to go here on top and select the roto brush tool with that selected we can now just draw what has to be selected so that are going to be my feet there we go and you can see here with this purple line around it that my feet are selected and what we just want to make sure now is that it goes a little bit over the green screen everything else is covered by the green screen so we don't need to worry about that if you want to be sure you can select a little bit more like this and we're also going to do the same thing for the other feet now let's say that uh for instance some parts of the background are being selected um for instance let's just do this quickly uh we don't need that here of course this part so what we can then do is just hold down the alt key which turns that brush into a red brush um and let's see something is wrong again what's happening to the audio again oh damn it so hmm is something not working i see the audio coming true test test one two that should be working right can you guys let me know something or can i quickly test it that's strange live are you guys not working nah you're just fooling with me guys everything is fine who's trolling with me come on don't do that i'm already nervous damn it look at look at my armpits that's like an entire entire ocean over there with the internet all right anyways i'm sorry guys uh with holding down the alt key you get a red brush and you can just kind of like brush away uh what you don't want to have selected so there we go this should look fine right now uh now you'll see that the rotor brush tool has been applied as an effect uh to your clip um and within the new version of adobe after effects you'll see that we now have version 2.0 and that actually goes very fast the rotor brushing tool is actually useful right now i would also set the quality to best which is always better and that's pretty much it so i'm going to do right now is just play the clip so uh just hit the space bar there we go and it will automatically track that selection with my legs um it will go super slow so this is going to take a little time and what you want to do is just pay attention to that everything follows correctly uh if it doesn't then you have to hit pause and adjust your uh selection for now i'm just going to let it do its thing because it's already going to take a little bit of time in the meantime let's see if there are any more questions um let me see here uh oh come on someone says can i also brush away my depression come on dude be positive in life um i know times are not uh easy at the moment with the whole corona situation and i definitely understand that people are not feeling well but do try to look at uh pull pull yourself up at positive things you know watch positive stuff on youtube or online or or uh you know look out for for friends that are positive in life and you know try to look at the bright sides in life um i know that's not that that's easy said than done and not even not everyone has uh has as as good times you know anyways i hope that you understand me uh uh let me see here how how you got into editing someone asks uh that's not a good question um basically i i was introduced by a friend on how i was able to load in my my footage from an old video camera onto a computer and then i learned a windows movie maker which opened up a whole world of me and i was so intrigued by windows movie maker and i was able to edit and cut my videos that i decided to learn more about other programs like pinnacle and i went to sony vegas premiere pro final cut i've worked in everything and that's how i got into uh video editing eventually i got into film school and there i actually learned what what it's what video editing is like and not so much about just cutting and making crazy effects um so yeah that's how i got into video editing uh where's yannick yannick is i think home at the moment he just left uh but in this studio this is the the blue studio where we present and then behind that wall is the office and there sits lorenzo and yannick maybe lorenzo is still here i'm not sure actually um all right um let me see here oh elijah is in the chat as well oh it's so cool to see you here indeed i actually made a birthday video for someone elijah's mother sent me a an email asking if i could make a video for a happy birthday video and i did that and i uploaded it as unlisted what yannick is still here look at that sorry yannick uh so yeah they're both sitting there uh in the office probably watching the live stream right now um let me see here uh good question uh zg studios did you ever accidentally delete something yeah yeah yeah probably it happens uh definitely if you have uh when you're uh project looks like this and you think like i should start cleaning up stuff and you start to delete stuff and then all of a sudden you think oh i shouldn't have deleted that it happens it happens uh fortunately nothing very important yet um all right and at the meantime i see that the rotor brushing is complete you can see here how beautifully that mask follows now something to know with all of this rota brushing guys is that right now we have rendered the rotor brush mask into uh into the memory of the computer so what i'm going to close down this project or someone else is opening it or i'm going to open it up tomorrow again and my ram memory is empty uh that entire rotor brushing or or masking needs to be recalculated again so what we want to do right now is after this is done this entire line here is green we're going to press on freeze that is super important and now you just have to wait again so yeah so now it's going to freeze that and actually save the rotor brushing what we just done so now we can just answer some more questions all right will this get private or later will you upload the live stream um the live stream will just be available for anyone after this um so it's going to be public here on the channel uh we're going to use adobe illustrator yes is it downloaded right now it is there you go we have illustrator downloaded uh so that's the next step that we're gonna do after we've keyed out myself i'm going to put myself into a 3d environments and and um and animate that and for that we're going to need illustrator but in the meantime let's do that perhaps uh let's hope everything doesn't crash by doing all these things at the same time uh heading over to vector assets uh which one we're taking campfire landscape we got the campfire scene right here i'm just going to double click on that this is an illustrator file that we got from i don't know some kind of a stock website we have subscriptions with many different stock sites so we always look for if we don't find something on one stock site we go to another later there we go look at that so here it is okay my laptop is blowing right now really hard i'm always getting blown away and i'm still here guys so here it is the campfire scene now if we go over to layers window where are my layers layers layers layers here we go layers you can see that we have um all these uh like all these different elements in different layers so we got here on top we got a tree and that is very important that you're gonna put everything in a different layer so we've got a tree right here we've got a front rock right there and a bush over there and some more trees over there so you want to make sure everything sits in a separate layer because that way we are able to separate those layers and create a 3d scene so once you're done with that so the background sits here and all the way in the back and actually it's also better to rename everything i'm not sure why that hasn't been done but this is for example background let's make it very simple can we do that yeah so i'm just going to remove a couple of trees for the live stream i'm just going to make it easy uh like those things let's just remove that work with a little bit less uh wait how does this work there you go yeah bye yannick yannick is gone um what else do we have here so this is important this is important yeah that's important as well some back bushes uh the lord okay let's just call this like large back bush uh this is small back bush uh we have what is this um back landscape or something just give that name this is this is the floor this is the plane so let's call this floor this is going to be the layer where i'm going to stand on all right then we got front tree uh let me delete that as well just to make it easier for now yes no not that one this one here there we go uh the bush you know let's just also delete that let's keep it simple yes push god there we go uh let's keep this one and as well that one so we've got front rock and we've got front three there we go a very simple layout and let me save that as a new file uh not to the cloud let's just do it on a computer campfire uh stream there we go yes safe all right let's go back to after effects and in the meantime that freezing is almost done so we're just gonna have to wait for that i'll answer some more questions in the meantime um let me see here um [Music] oh interesting nick studios asks can you do some cinema 4d classes that's definitely uh on the agenda for next year um that's probably going to be a class from yannick and lorenzo it's it's on it's for next year i think summer late 2021 but not not for now [Music] let me see here how did you the let me see here i see some questions about the uh about the sceneries we're going to get into that in a moment after the uh this here is done oh no i hope that's not crashing it is super slow always like this this is one of the uh shortest clips we had but we had clips that took very long and it actually took nine hours to complete the whole roto-brushing task so you can imagine the stress um let me see here um oh someone asks here for example uh living legends you must be a legend you went to film school in brussels right yes which exact film school was that and which language is spoken there uh it was the it was na rafi but it is it's called luca now actually it's luca film school um and we just spoke dutch there the the belgium language uh it was pretty it was pretty okay film school uh you learn a lot of technical stuff there and you get like a very solid basis to continue but i wouldn't say that film school is necessary to to uh get into the film industry i think the most important is to is to just be excited about it and to to be open to learning stuff and just make a lot of stuff just gain experience film school is just there to to get you on track faster um if that makes sense so what i learned in three years there um i think that i would have done like like six seven years to learn the same stuff maybe um so yeah let's see we've got some more questions here going um [Music] so many questions uh how is lorenzo doing uh jedi10creative asks uh asked that lorenzo is doing great um actually uh i think the stuff have been going really well this year for us uh lorenzo and jennifer boat following a cinema 4d boot camp right now so they are learning a ton of new stuff and lorenzo is also starting to present copycat now together with yannick it was which is really cool and he's also enjoying that a lot so yeah that has been going great uh he's doing awesome uh let me see here uh tobias asks how many cameras do you have i don't know a lot of cameras um let me see we got the canon c200 over there uh we've got the red we got a sony a7s uh two or something i don't even sure sony 6500 um the lumix gh5 gh4 what else do we have i think that's about it and then we got like smaller cameras like a bunch of gopros insta360 cameras and stuff but yeah i think around seven cameras or something uh but it mean it grows over time of course uh oh yeah i can also get a 5d but that is not not being used anymore uh all right um okay that is maybe an interesting question to answer samir webby asks who composed uh the intro music we get a lot of questions from you guys asking um where does the music come from oh and honestly i don't know um it's it's a song that i had and you know i have this uh library on my computer with songs that i purchased throughout the years and when i started the youtube channel which was in 2014 six years ago now or 15 i don't even sure when did i start youtube channel i don't know anyways i just took something out of my library i don't know where it comes from honestly so i'm really sorry guys i cannot point you where to get that oh in the meantime here uh let's go to best back to desktop the freezing is done and uh we can go now back to our composition and you see now that my feet are there look at that guys how awesome is it so that is keyed out now you can go back into the rotor brush tool if you want so and you can fine tune that a little bit more with the feather the contrast and everything uh but that's pretty much that no as for the shadow so what i would do now is we i have myself entirely into an alpha layer and and i would just export that alpha layer and what i would then also do is export uh just the clip itself without any keying i have already done that so i'm going to do that again i'm just going to import those two clips i'm just going to make a new folder here let's call that keying there we go and i'm just going to import fights ghost uh something where i have wait no not in the prores under alpha so right here i have export oh oh this is a big mess i'm really sorry guys let me see here fights ghost do we have that here somewhere i can search for it right ghost here we go final keys and a normal i think i can select both of these import let me see what we have here fights ghost and final key yeah there we go here we go guys so what i have now is uh i have exported this with a an alpha layer that is important as well so after you've done the keying uh so right here this is what what we have just done so we've just keyed out we've done the rotoscoping and if you know press ctrl m you can export this let me just delete the other ones and when you go over to the settings here of the exports you want to make sure to select quicktime as the format then go over to the format options and we're going to select video codec and we're going to select apple prores 444 that is important once that is selected hit ok and now we can select from the channels here rgb plus alpha and that also means to export the nothingness behind it you know the alpha so that it's transparent so that is how you want to export this clip right here once that is done we get this here the the final native the the fights ghost final keys um all right so we have that i'm going to delete this now because that was just a demo so we're going to drag in this exported file into here so here we have it and i'm also gonna need shadow but for that we're gonna do that later you know what guys let's do the shadow later the shadow file is just me i've actually keyed out the green screen i didn't have to do that evenly um we just need the clip itself that's it that's for later let's go back to the composition and i'm going to import that um that illustrator file let's go back go back no go what is this okay hang on guys uh here we go yeah here this copy go back to here paste there we go here's the illustrator file so i'm going to import that you don't want to import that as footage because we're going to need all of the layers so we're going to import that as composition and then we're going to say okay so it's going to import i'm also going to place this here into oh it's it's it's a mess again guys i hope that you can follow i'm really sorry okay so i'm going to open up the composition that has been imported so if i double click on it you'll see that we get all of these layers here from the illustrator file into after effects look at that and the great thing is that this is now connected to the illustrator file as well so if i go back to illustrator and for example i'm going to change i'm going to do something drastic here i'm going to change the color of the bush let's make that a blue no a red let's make that a red bush look at that and i'm going to save my illustrator file and i'm going to go back to after effects then you'll see that okay why isn't that going what a fail why isn't it going red right now okay it should have gone red now did i imported something wrong why isn't this ah making such a fool of myself right now where is it this year this should have been red right now it did change position didn't it okay let's try something different um no why didn't it work it's changing the position but that should okay i don't know much of illustrator so maybe that is why that sets on it's like why doesn't it go red safe it should be red ah it doesn't work maybe someone can help me need to refresh the comp yeah but but the thing is how do i refresh the f5 always refreshes that doesn't work ah that's strange it's a glitch i think so too save this all right let's just save this project go edit original that i think is it linking to something something other wrong okay so if you right click on any of these say open edit original here's the original and this should have been red let's try and make something else red uh the rock okay let me just let me just make some let me just make a part rock red there you go it's not even going red right now yeah you can see here i'm pro at illustrator is it red now and that's not even red ah i'm gonna make everything red something has to change red come on save [Laughter] why isn't this working okay you know what that's the idea behind it [Laughter] why isn't this working all right you see these are things that you would never see happen in tutorial videos because then we get the time to figure out what's wrong here we go in live streams always something goes wrong all right let's just start working here why isn't this working okay um so what i'm going to do right now is i'm going to make all of these layers 3d so right here you see a toggle next to all these layers you can toggle that to 3d and what i'm going to do right now is take um here on top i'm going to take the orbit tool if i select that i can actually now rotate my entire scene and i'm going to set the view here to let's say third as that allows me to rotate more in real time i can scroll with my mouse to zoom out i can use the panning tool here on top to reposition that but anyways this is a way to kind of look into the 3d space and now what i can do is actually select one of these layers and i'm going to reposition them on the z-axis which is the blue line right here so this is let me just see here the background needs to go to the back so i'm just going to push that all the way to the back the the forest i'm even sure what that is anymore what's the forest that doesn't seem is that empty okay let's delete forest no idea what that is all right large uh look at that large back bush okay so this is bush in the back there we go send it to the back uh we got a small uh bush here they're gonna be a little bit more to the front so we're just going to like separate everything here uh we get the back landscape also something right here the floor maybe push down a little bit to the forward the front rock let's also push that to the front and the front tree there we go so right now we've separated everything and i'm not going to take the rotation thingy here again you can see here that we get like a very nice like this is called two and a half d it's not really 3d it's two and a half d um so we have that now and uh now we can actually go ahead and create a camera because when we want to make animations like have a camera go through that space we need a camera and we can do that from the top head over to layer say new and from there we can create a camera this is a virtual camera uh don't mind all these settings here too much you can actually go to the presets here just select 50 millimeter if you know what you're doing you can change all of all things like the film size and and the focal length all of that stuff and make your dream camera inside after effects i'm just going to work with the preset now just hit ok and bang look at that your view instantly changes uh to the camera view now something very important guys if we are now going to take the rotation tool the orbit tool or anything of that we will actually alter the the properties of that camera let me just uh collapse here the transform view and you will actually see that it's that it's changing those values here on the bottom so be careful as you do that right now if you want to take a look back at your 3d space and just kind of fumble around a little bit more to to give your scene a certain look or to separate them what you have to do is just disable the output of your camera for a moment and now you can do whatever you want in here without it's without changing the actual camera all right so we've got that going what i notice now is that i need to stretch out a few layers so if i select any of these layers i can actually like reposition them or i can go ahead and i can just scale them out like the background the the sky and just make that larger uh the bush in the back i also want to like stretch that out and everything and let me just also take a look at this here let me just stretch that all out uh what's this here the back landscape uh so you can just see and just fill up everything uh very important just to always work with these arrows because if you take your clip right here you start dragging that around you don't know if it's also being pushed on the z-axis you always want to use the axis tools right here to position it so that you know like okay i'm actually pushing it up or down left right or further or fart farther away the floor as well is going to push a little bit more to the left there we go and it's starting to look pretty okay the front three sits a little bit too much here on the come on on the right side there we go so that is looking all right now look at that so um this is our 3d scene and you'll notice now when i'm going to take or change the actual camera view with the band tool that we get this parallax movement you see that guys you can very see it very well here with the tree and this is how you can create that fake 3d niche uh by doing that so this is really cool um so what we can do now is let me just start in placing myself into the scene oh by the way before i forget um when you are stretching out layers like we've done you'll see a decrease in quality now the great advantage of working with illustrator files is that these are vector files but after effects doesn't see them as vector files so what you want to do and i'm going to i'm not sure if you can see that on the stream but i'm going to just zoom in here on one of these on these bushes or something and i'm going to say here with this toggle i'm going to say that these layers are vector files so by toggling these you should see like that these edges here become more sharp and they are now being treated as vector files and you can actually increase the size of that enormously and you will retain a great quality on those edges there so um yeah there's that make sure that that is enabled all right so let me just go ahead and place myself in here um where am i here scene final go so i'm just going to place myself in there look no wait the key the final key that's the wrong shot the final key it's here there we go so here i am no i want to make sure that i'm actually standing on the exact same place as uh as as the as the floor part because as i'm going to let me also make this layer here 3d by the way guys there we go i'm also in in the 3d space and i'm going to disable my camera view for a moment and you can see here as i orbit that i'm probably not standing on you can see it here i'm actually standing a little bit behind let me set this back to third i'm actually standing a little bit behind the floor clip so what you want to do is also kind of make sure to push yourself on that same level you can see here that i'm going through that that layer that i'm standing a little bit on that layer like that now if you're unsure about that and if you're working with tons of layers you don't know anymore what you're doing what you could simply do is let me just offset myself is take the floor layer and just take the transform properties of here hit ctrl c and paste that onto yourself ctrl v and now you should be standing on that same level i'm just a little bit too big so i might want to have to like decrease the the scale of that but i'm sitting on the z axis on that same level uh so now i'm just going to push myself with the x and the y so that i stand on the floor there we go all right let's enable the camera back and you can see here that i'm standing on the grass all right let's add the shadow in there now this is how i've created the shadow because that's still something that i find very hard to do creating shadows uh in in after effects i'm not that great is it that i'm also taking a look here at oh i see that someone is helping out with modding uh the as well let's just taking a look here at the chat as well um guys keep it clean in the chat we're all here for happy times for um uh for a for some nice time um so let me see if maybe any questions in the meantime hello from friends hello again chris from belgium uh what is your current system um i'm currently working on the msi creator 15. as you've probably seen over uh over the summer we had a lot of uh sponsors for laptops we had dell we had msi we had hp we had so many uh sponsors uh the msi is uh when it comes down to pure hardware specs the strongest one of all of those so that is why i'm using this one right here because this one comes pretty close to the desktops that we use in the office it's a pretty strong laptop actually um all right let's continue with the uh with with the shadow so how are we going to add the shadow in there now i'm going to drag this layer into my comp as well let me just rename that here so this is jordy and this is going to be shadow that is just the normal clip where you can see the floor as well so the first thing i'm going to do is set this to 3d as well and i'm going to copy the exact same transform from jordy over to my shadow so now it just sits on top of each other and what i can do right now is with the shadow selected i'm going to take my pen tool the masking tool and i'm going to draw here around my feet there we go and i'm going to go into the mask properties and maybe feather that a tiny bit so that we don't have that hard edge hard edge there we go by the way guys another great tip if you're selecting layers and you don't want to see this masking line you can actually disable that with this button right here so my clip is still selected i can still work on it but i'm not being bothered by that masking line around it look at that so let's uh bring the shadow into the shot right now because this doesn't look really good you can still kind of see the concrete floor floor so i'm going to go over to mode and just blend that in and i think i took soft lights there we go and now we got like a very natural shadow the actual shadow of the studio in the shot now if it's not prominent enough or you kind of want to change that you can always go into your effects library head over to curves take that effect drag that onto the shadow and just make it a tiny bit darker we're just pulling this down and you can see that your shadow becomes a little bit more prominent or you can also try out other blending modes see what works for you that's also what i did i just went over this you can see for example your overlay might also work a lot better you can see here that the shadow is pretty good it's subtle but it's okay it's good so that is how i created uh the shadows in uh in the animated short because again i'm not the greatest at making shadows um from green screens uh all right so we got ourselves in there let me see if there are any uh questions um yeah ah lorenzo's also gone uh say bye to lorenzo [Music] so he's gone he was in the chat the entire time i think um all right let me see if there any fun other questions um someone says after effects is the best that's right it's pretty cool uh omar asks what's my name jordy i don't know actually i actually never knew what my name was um all right here's maybe an interesting question from vasco um hey jordy how does the pandemic situation affecting your work um our it's pretty okay when it comes down to my work uh because we just do online stuff we make tutorials we make courses though so we were able to continue doing our work it hasn't affected us that much but of course private life is a different story uh i don't want to complain because i think that we're all going through the same thing right now i don't think that it's it's easy for any of us at the moment uh we you know we have to stay at distance and um things are pretty tough um and when you see you know problems with your friends or family you can't go there to comfort and everything i think that just what makes it hard and i think that that does affect my work the way we all feel um but but it's with everyone i think so i don't want to complain we are still very fortunate that we can still work i know enough people who have lost their jobs uh have to close their businesses because all of this uh and that that is worrying um so i don't want to complain about that um all right anything else here um muammad asks who else is with you in the studio uh we just work with four we got me we got yannick we got lorenzo and we got jill they're all home right now i'm still here um all right hi from california awesome i also want to visit california one day um yeah i want to go surfing there i have no idea how to surf i never did that before but i just want to do it uh jordy read my name please daniel johnson there you go um say hi to mexico and me oh bd films mexico that is yeah i also want to visit mexico and i actually want to visit the entire world uh so hi mexico how's it going over there i hope the cactuses and the sombreros are cool and the sun of course you go to mexico for the beautiful sun over there it's taking all the stereotypes in here uh all right uh anything else iran oh awesome daniel john you're from iran cool uh from slovenia india will get so oh man it's really cool to see all of that um all right see anything else okay here's something cool guys uh so xander place asks please feature ariana grande's new music video and copy cats this is a secret between us guys but yeah we're doing it next week uh there you go uh let me see why do you have to bleem open sublime text yeah we just i just use that to uh do we write all of our scenarios in there and everything yeah that's why i got that open i have some notes in there for the live stream but they don't make sense anymore all right how can i install rotobrush 2.0 great question there from who's that programmator well it comes with the latest version of adobe premiere adobe after effects so just update your creative cloud and you've got it it's that simple all right let's continue here guys let's make some animations um so with the camera right here i'm going to open up the properties and i'm going to create a keyframe for the point of interest and the position the position of the camera is what it says it's the position the point of interest is where the camera points at so if i would only animate the position it would stay pointed at the same thing so if that would be my glass of water it would do this if i'm going to animate both i can say also like move your position or whatever you're pointing at so that's why we're going to create a keyframe for both of these values right here and then we're going to go forward in time this is position a there we go and now i can just move the camera so now i can just use these tools here on top i can use the the dolly tool and the easiest way to do that now actually is by selecting the layer so jordy here is my layer just open it back up and with that selected is going to rotate or pivot around that layer it's going to focus on that layer and i'm just going to like dolly forward like that i can use the panning tool to make a different framing but that's pretty much it and uh you'll see that we have a second keyframe now and between that it will just play back that animation but to make it a little bit cooler guys i'm actually going to move this tree a bit more up to the right side and you'll see that we'll kind of move more between in those trees and get more of that parallax feeling so let me just uh quickly render that um see here how did i learn english um just by doing this a lot if you take a look at my very first youtube tutorials on the channel my english was pretty crap so i kind of learned it over the years by just uh talking a lot of in english just making tutorials um but yeah there we go so here is it here's the animation and we get kind of parallax movements which was a question earlier and that is just because we have all of these layers um separated as we move the camera through it and this is basically how we've made the short film the the short animated thing very important guys always make sure to select your keyframes and for the last keyframes you want to make sure to go over to keyframe assistant easy ease in as the animation comes in you want to make sure that it smoothly stops the same thing goes for the starting keyframes keyframe assistant easy is out so you got a smooth acceleration and then a smooth outgoing acceleration or stop you get what i mean let me set this to quarter really real quick so that it renders that pretty big a little faster but now we've got the the animation the camera movement going uh a bit more smoother um so yeah that's let me see here and i'm gonna try and pay attention to the chat a lot um let me see here because i wanna make this interactive if you have any questions of what we're doing here guys just uh go ahead and ask someone says notice me all right kenny i notice you hi jordy from philippines i love your vids i'm learning a lot from you thank you so much man i really appreciate that um that's really cool too to um that means a lot to me to to see that you guys appreciate the work that i do that's also the the reason that i got into making tutorial videos i just i just had a very big passion for sharing my experience and knowledge you know when i was a little kid i actually wanted to become a school teacher because i just love to give uh i just love to i mean i i always like like dreamed of when i would stand in front of a friend of a class that i would kind of like share my experience my my life experience and to and do things differently um eventually i figured out that that the school system is not something that i stand behind 100 and so i started doing stuff online where i can just do my own thing and it means a lot to me guys to see the comments of everyone saying like oh wow i learned something new from this tutorial that's the whole reason why i'm doing it so yeah thank you so much guys it's really nice to read all of these comments here um thanks guys um so let's continue here there's one last thing that i want to do and that is the camera options we got the aperture option right here so the depth of field so currently everything is pretty flat and that is because um we don't have any depth of field with a normal camera the background gets out of focus and we can do the same thing right here as well with um with our virtual camera so we're going to enable depth of field set that to on and we're going to increase the aperture the more we increase that the shallower the depth of field becomes so you can see here now those trees are getting a little bit out of focus but the focus isn't uh correct yet you can see that where the focus lays it's a manual focus camera i know guys not the greatest uh however we can actually turn that into yeah that's actually true we can we can turn that into an autofocus camera so the way that we have to change that is by changing the focus distance so if i change my view right here to to view we get a sense of where that focus distance is at so right here this is my camera guys this is the top view that we get these here are all my layers which are offsetted we get the camera right here you can see that moving forwards as i played back and if i change the focus distance you can also see that line over there you don't see my finger what i'm pointing at but you can see here it's changing that is the focus so the layer that is getting in focus so uh we can also animate that property uh so we can for example uh set that to myself which is this layer right here so no i am in focus we can set a keyframe for that and everything but we can also make ourselves a little bit easier and we can do that by selecting the camera layer and my layer and what i'm going to do now is say to after effects all right i want you to link your focus to my layer we can go up to the menu here on top say layer on on the bottom we can find camera and we can now say link focus distance 2 layer there we go and now you can see here as i go through my animation that that focus line right here just sticks to my layer there it is locked on we got an auto focus look at that guys now what they actually did was write an expression expressions are like uh codes this is javascript uh to make things automatically done don't mind that just keep that closed just close that but yeah that's what's what it's doing so let's go back to one view and let me just quickly render this out and let's have a look so you get a lot more depth now because of that and this is essentially how we've created it this is the simple version of that all right how is everyone doing for the rest uh let me see here um more questions about blender and cinema 4d and everything uh yeah maybe for the future guys uh honestly i'm not the greatest i don't i have i have no experience in blender or any other 3d software yannick and lorenzo do uh so maybe in the future they are doing that but we also want to make sure that the the tutorials that we're making is accessible to the most people so that's why we don't want to uh include too many different softwares so maybe like as a site thingy like as an extra bonus tip or something we can definitely do that all right um let's see here thanks man for the tutorials you have the best tutorials ever thank you so much candy that means a lot to me uh where is storyblocks someone asks where is storyblocks let me check here let me just go to the internet uh let me check here where is storyblocks someone asks uh i'm just going to no ah damn it why isn't this working why isn't my web browser working okay now my now my joke is all damn it no it keeps opening right here oh wait wait wait wait nope where are story box okay i just wanted to make a joke damn it here we go your story blocks ah failed joke uh damn see that's why i like scripted videos a lot more where we can edit it afterwards like so that these things won't happen all right um anything else here can you please make an after effects course on skillshare guys come on we have an after effects course let me just go back to presentation if you go to cinecom.net you can go over to courses and there you can find an after effects course which is actually can i show that to you guys because it's really awesome course why doesn't my browser work only only edge seems to work all right let's do with an edge then let's go back to desktop view guys if you don't know we on skillshare uh you can actually get 14 days off now now i'm plugging an ad look at that you can actually get 14 days for free on skillshare and we've got an after effects course right here uh which i'm i'm i i'm humbly humbly humbly which i'm humbly no that's not word which i'm humbly very proud of it's a hard word there look at that um because i'm gonna go to the can i just see it okay anyways uh we've had tremendously awesome feedback on this class uh if you want to learn after effects it's it's i think it's a great class to start when you can get certain dates for free to take the class so you can basically get it for free because you can watch it in 14 days um but uh yeah it is a whole different concept than regular classes i'm actually dressed up as a professor in that class and i'm doing all of these experiments and i'm exploding my laboratory and everything and then i'm going to show everyone how i did that which is really fun it's more like a a it's it's a fun class and i was trying to make a fun word there but yeah it's it's a it's a fun fun class an entertaining class entertaining fun class there you go uh all right and more questions here um let me see here uh please have some water you've been working so hard for us yeah i can fill in my throat actually that's better that's better you know when i'm working i sometimes forget to drink and eat evenly i don't sure if you guys also have that but sometimes i can start in the morning and then it's late in the evening i'm like hey i haven't drink or eaten anything yet today so yeah it happens that's when you're when you're so focused into your work uh let me see here okay okay okay here's a very good question um that that i'm always afraid to answer let me just go back to presentation um robin asks how is it going with your short film so um those who don't know yet but i think it's almost two years ago now that we shot a short film and we've been kind of hyping it up a lot because it was our first short film and um so we kept you guys into running on instagram through stories we shot everything it was a pretty big project but now for two years it's still it's still not finished yet it's still not out yet um i actually made a video about it if you i'm not sure if you can find it if you search for a cinecom short film or something you can find it where i talk about why it still isn't out yet uh basically there has been some problems uh mostly personal problems uh where i kind of explained that and i mean there are a couple of things that with cinecom it just takes so much time um like the entire week even on even weekends i'm constantly working on tutorials for friday and tuesday making courses managing the business as well writing emails and everything that comes with it um and i have so little time left to work on a short film that i also have um problems with like personal problems with and i explained that i have got that explained in that in that video um so that is why it's taking so long and so i also said that i don't want to make a promise anymore when it's going to be finished we're still working on it like every week we are still working on it but we're tr that is because of the issue we're trying out different things and we're just taking our time to finish this i don't want to rush it i don't want to say it it could take even another year until it's finished um but yeah it's that is something that i deeply regret as well and something i'm very sorry about because we hyped it up that much uh and now it's just taking so it's like cyberpunk guys it's coming eventually or like half-life three you know it's coming eventually but it takes time you just watch that video we look for cinecom short film you'll find it guys um but yeah it's it's it's still in the process and every week we're still working a little bit on it so yeah um so uh let me see if there's anything else um let me see here um um someone asked best budget tips for green screen from reflected via vx um i would say get one of those portable green screens that one that has this iron around it because it you can um you can fold it up it's easily it's portable and when you fold it out it is already stretched out evenly um it is pretty cheap i think that you can get one of those for 50 60 and the best way to start using a green screen is to go outside take distance from your green screen about one or two meters no idea how much elbows or thumbs or feet that are but um it's some distance and that's the easiest way to get started with with green screen after that you can step it up by buying a fabric that you can hang up but then you also need to worry about like stretching it nicely so you're going to need clamps uh light stands and all of that um also when you're going to start green screening uh indoor you're going to think about lighting so that's again an extra step so start outside where you don't need lights so that is a great way to get started um all right some more questions we're going to make it too long anymore let's just take five more minutes and i'm going to wrap up this live stream by the way guys in the description of this live stream as well you can find a link to four tutorials um that are posted on the adobe channel uh where you can see what i've done in this live stream as well again in a tutorial and a quick tutorial as well so definitely check those out um i talk about the uh the workflow between illustrator after effects the 3d tools and how to animate the camera also go a little bit more in depth into the curves of the animation and all but definitely check that out guys it's really important if you want to learn some new stuff uh all right some more questions uh dhx tech says how much do you love us guys well i hope that my girlfriend isn't watching right right now but more than my girlfriend there you go uh okay amazing junction get sidney battle again well we are at actually today we had our first brainstorm meeting for next year you know we do that every year like how are we going to tackle that um i can't say much yet but yes there's going to be maybe cine battle maybe it's gonna be there all right um let me see here uh adobe video and motion channel yes that's the one um let me see here okay g says what's your advice to stop overthinking and get started on something i have many ideas no execution that is uh that's a great question um yeah i'd say the easiest answer is just do it but um that's i think uh one of the problems that i also uh had in the past was i also had ideas but i never executed them because i never had a goal i think it's important to pick out one idea and set up a certain goal for it like i want to reach this if you want to make a short film for instance i'm the worst to give advice but if you want to make a tutorial video because that i can do that i can't publish on time um then you set up a goal like when do you want to publish that mark that in your agenda like that's the publish date okay in order to publish that on that date i need to start writing a script before that day and i need to film on that day just set up deadlines just fill up your agenda start with that and start with something that is easily manageable one thing with the short film my mistake was i took it too big um it was so big that the short film was bigger than me and i wasn't able to manage it anymore um that was one of the things that i said in that in that video i eventually did nothing creatively with the short film uh i didn't do camera i didn't do lighting i didn't direct the film i didn't do anything of that i produced it uh and that was my biggest mistake so start with the smallest project that you can think of but spend your time in the creative process in in in in the in the details uh that is important start off easy and then step it up as you go but planning that is important to just plan it in um and you know what send over an email to me once you're once your first film project is done and i'll give you some feedback so there's another motivation to get started on your projects all right um let me see did you first used a cracked premiere pro i'm not going to answer that um actually no i actually had a student version in the beginning uh i'm not a fan of that uh can you see oh okay set is asking is it better to uh procrastinate procrastinate than doing something outside your will um i think it's the same thing like if you postpone uh a certain something that that you don't like to do then then you're just moving something that you don't like to do to another time and then you have to do it against your will on another time so yes i if you don't like to do something but you have to do it just do it right away so that you're over with it and continue with the rest so yeah don't procrastinate um okay another question here from ira ethics studio where do you see yourself in five to seven years can we see you directing a netflix web series well the thing is guys um it's ever since that youtube happened to me ever since i've been doing this full time i've stopped looking at wow thank you for the donation um er molly uh chard can't pronounce your name thank you so much i'm gonna answer your question in just a moment i'm gonna pin that over there uh so like i was saying what was i entering now again uh thank you for confusing me yeah i forgot to i forgot the question that i was answering ah yeah where do i see myself in five to seven years man so uh when youtube happened to me i'm looking at my life now from year to year because this all seems very unreal what's happening at the moment it's it's very strange uh you know being able to do this as my full-time job and i it feels like i don't have a grasp to what's happening and i feel like every moment this could change or or collapse like if youtube decides to like quit maybe or or or strike our channel then it's just then it's over then it's done so i i don't have any plans at the moment at this moment i just try to keep doing what i do but um yes we actually talk today in the brainstorm about next year and we want to we want to do some things differently uh i do feel that for the past years cinecom has kind of been the same thing and it might get boring over time so we do want to do start doing something different it's still going to be educational film related of course we're not going to drastically change and suddenly start making minecraft gaming videos no worries about that guys um it's still going to be an educational filmmaking channel but it's going to be a little bit different i think that you that you also need that in life as for netflix i'm not sure i really i really love to work in small crews with yannick lorenzo and jill it's very fun to make these small skits to make full small film stuff you know and once you're part of a bigger crew then you have your one job to execute i personally don't like bass but that's for everyone else differently all right i'm gonna go to that question hello jordy i'm new in editing in premiere pro and after effects can you make a whole video of that please um well here's something great amila uh cha cha sorry man i'm so uh bad with names i'm gonna link a channel in the chat right now uh you wanna subscribe to that because that is our second youtube channel actually and it covers everything basics of adobe premiere pro and the channel is called premiere basics look at that it's our second channel jill manages that he publishes a new tutorial every week every wednesday he also does the live stream every wednesday every every monday it's getting late now premiere basics so those who are where is the link stop hang on guys i'm good at this so you want to make sure to subscribe to that if you're looking out for basic tutorial videos where is the youtube oh man come on i hear here i got it i got it where is the channel link channel link right here here here okay here we go there you go subscribe to that channel guys premiere basics also from our from cinecom it's our second channel uh which is great and we've got another nation wow from amman mishra oh wow thank you so much uh hey jordy you have thought me a lot i just finished all your skillshare classes ah thank you so much they were uh so uh success sentencing succinct and clear uh thank you so much even know what that word is see my english dictionary is not that wide i can speak a little bit um how do you pronounce that sakins succinct okay it's a real word apparently i just don't have any idea how to pronounce that i feel so stupid sometimes oh well thank you so much that oh wow that really that means a lot to me thank you so much we put a lot of effort in those glasses so it's always very nice to see that thank you so much aman thank you so much really appreciate that all right so um yeah any more questions i think i'm going to slowly wrap it up um everyone's asking now what's your email address well here's the thing guys um if you go to cinecom.net you can find a contact page somewhere there's an email address however that email address is getting like hundreds of emails every day so um it has to be filtered it actually goes through uh it actually being like um uh like expanded i'm looking for english words you see it's getting late here it's being uh mixed to uh to different people and then we kind of filter all of that uh so i'm going i have to be honest guys um i probably i can't answer everyone unfortunately because it's just so much emails that that we're getting unfortunately also a lot of spam emails from uh so many different brands and and companies like these amazon sellers that that have created um uh like like uh like in like a deo or something i don't know like with some stupid product that has nothing to do with our with our channel and they just keep spamming us for their product uh that happens unfortunately oh wow uh marvel and studios thank you so much for the donation man oh wow really appreciate that thank you so much man thank you so much uh wow you guys are really amazing uh okay here's another good question from uh raghunta oh man mishra i'm just going to pronounce your last name mishra who is your inspiration from whom you really learned how to live your life um okay um a couple of guys mostly youtubers as well i think my biggest inspiration is probably uh ryan connolly from film riots i've been watching film right since i started out since day started out and so last year when we did a christmas special video we actually collaborated uh with ryan with ryan connolly and his brother um in that video and that was just one of those checks off my bucket list wow that was truly amazing uh he's my big idol i look very much up to him uh and then also the guys over at vsauce also youtube channels uh michael kevin and uh i can't believe that i forgot the other the last one but mostly michael from vsauce the way that he presents everything is is amazing and it looks just so much up to him and of course you know the big guys like like zach king and all i mean what they have accomplished it's it's truly amazing i love those guys so there are definitely um inspirations to all of me and i see another donation here from uh bam be like guys make easier names really bambali just thank you so much man really appreciate that thank you so much wow wow i see i was scrolling and i saw the word haircut somewhere i can't find wow another donation here from uh man really sorry for all the names you guys are inspiring a lot uh create challenges for us that's interesting yeah you know what next year we are going to do some things differently and who knows that maybe we're going to do some challenges between us you make something i make something and you know someone else votes for what's the best i don't know let's let's do some uh challenges definitely all right um let's see some more uh questions um someone asks sahil uh you know peter mckinnon i don't i mean yes i do i know who he is but i don't know him personally i don't have any idea if he knows us no idea but yeah he makes pretty cool stuff of course let me see here some more questions neo can see tv uh any live streams in the future maybe uh i i have no idea how many people are watching right now i just have a window of the chat open and that's it uh i have no idea if there is if there if you guys want me to do this more often than yes yes let's see if we can do this more often um yeah if the internet works all right uh oh wow another one guys oh that's really kind with the donations here uh krishna kumar keep it up thank you man i'm keeping it up thank you thank you so much hi from spain uh mike zone asks do you know corridor crew uh i know who they are carter of course uh but not personally uh i i think that they do know who we are because i saw one of them uh making an advertisement or a sponsored segment for skillshare ones and they were talking for the full 30 minutes about my lighting class uh so i was like wow corydoras is featuring my class so they should know who at least jordy is because it wasn't my name the class not sure they know who cinecom is uh i still think that cinecom is is very small against them uh we're still a small channel compared to corridor oh yeah corridor man that what those guys do wow there's so many so many amazing people on youtube it's it's amazing and another donation from rajat kumar thank you so much man really appreciate that geordi sir please say rajit loves uh oh man names okay hang on uh rajat loves mini menakshi rijat loves menakshi no idea what i just said i hope it wasn't a dirty word i hope it was something nice it probably was uh thank you so much man i really appreciate that um let me see here uh blast challenge mention me please no blast challenge i will not mention you i just did damn it all right um let me see here um some more questions this is actually fun do we just continue doing these questions i want to go home as well like kim my girlfriend she's probably waiting now like when is jordy coming home vinder is not going to make himself that's true i make dinner at home sometimes my girlfriend does as well yeah uh but mostly i do actually i'm i'm the chef of the house i actually love cooking a lot i don't get cooking questions to me i'm great at cooking all right uh some more uh let me see here um [Music] there are so many questions guys guys too many questions don sebastian i'm from india hi i'm from belgium and uh got to study and love premiere pro and after effects tricks and tips from cinecom thank you for all your works love you guys ah that's really kind thank you so much mo really appreciate that um steven stay safe during covet 19 youtube man everyone stay safe i think the best thing to do right now is make yourself and he made it short with illustrator and after effects and just spent hours indoor that's also what i did i until 3am during the nights for two weeks long me and yannick you're in the office very tired addicted to coffee you know that was safe at least you know all right uh let's see what else we got here um uh late night in belgium it's almost seven o'clock now is it seven o'clock or six o'clock oh it's six o'clock almost six o'clock in the evening now in belgium uh okay we gotta we got a food question here candy kill what food is your favorite um okay here's maybe shocking but i hope i'm not gonna lose subscribers because of this but i'm vegetarian and i love vegetables might be not what you're expecting but yeah i love like a stew of vegetables yeah there you go that's one of my favorite foods uh it's not fries not pizza i love pizza as well like the vegetarian pizzas but i just like vegetables a lot like a mix of vegetables that's very nice here knee nuts can you make cooking via vicks yeah sure all right let me see here uh i'm not gonna make this too long anymore guys um uh okay here uh nur azad says what music jara uh is you listen to the most um i i like classic rock a lot uh like the classics rock music um 60s a lot actually all the way back to the 30s at its piaf but also newer bands like mostly rock music pop hip hop 90s mostly 90s hip hop and rap as well 90s rap i'm not too big of a fan of the popular rap at the moment while editing i listen a lot to like on spotify you have this focus playlist um i love to listen that oh my favorite band is probably sigur ross which is a band from iceland also my favorite country uh which is a very special music but it's it's amazing if you uh you know if you're just sitting outside looking at the stars put on cigars and man you're gone if you're editing cigars it's so inspirational um it's really great uh oh another another donation here guys going too fast here uh krishna kumar again thank you so much man wow i want to see you guys make a super duper short film please give it a shot i enjoy the recent video with the animation um yeah we are still working on that one short film that we started shooting two years ago i hope to release that i know i'm not gonna make any promises i hope to release that period uh but yeah i mean i i love the animated short the sketch that that i've made uh that that that this was more of like a sketchy like a skit uh but yeah i definitely want to do that more and more uh that's where my passion lays them it might be surprising to most but my passion lays more in cinematography filming storytelling not so much in visual effects or editing that might be very strange um yannick lorenzo actually are they are more into visual effects and everything so we are the perfect team together um all right let's see here um what other questions do we have so it's going so fast here all right let's let's continue with all the youtubers someone asks do you know daniel schiffer personally no also not don't know him personally i don't know that many ndx ndx the norwegian guy that one i know personally i usually see him every year at ibc which is a great event a trade show event where all these brands come together you can play around with cameras and lenses we always meet there we hang out and do fun stuff unfortunately this year no ibc i hope to go next year if all this stuff gets gets fixed um but he is an amazing guy uh he i love andy x or anders the guy behind the channel a lot because he had he is so humble and he has he has such a great passion for filmmaking like he does not care um who he makes something for or what he makes he makes it for himself like if he does something he does that from the heart and i love that so much about about anders um and he's he's an amazing filmmaker he you can really learn a lot from him guys when it comes down to to cinematography on a budget like he's so smart uh no i don't know zack king personally no also not i wish um let me see here um will you make blast challenge ask will you make another billy eilish tutorial definitely yes if something new comes out with a cool effect we'll definitely do that we look at all of the trending music videos uh it doesn't matter which jar we just look at the cool effects in there and we try to recreate those so yeah um um i hear oh here this one i can answer uh ira evic studio asks do you know nathan from orange83 yes i do know him personally he actually came and visited the studio once and he made a video here so on his channel from orange83 you can find a video of of me that he made but he doesn't want to be um known uh on on camera so that's why he's also asking like uh is he handsome and how old is he well i can say yes he's handsome that's the only thing that i can say uh yeah he's a great guy as well yeah great guy um all right some more questions um oh here do you avoid my question no i'm sorry but there's just so many questions i can't answer anything um yeah see you avoid my question because of my difficulty of reading my channel's name i kind of wish it did now because uh tall num tor rambam is really hard oh you guys are amazing uh do you guys um i hear another one uh do you guys know the guys from full-time filmmaker parker welbeck i know him not personally but we kind of worked on the same in the same project uh five-day deal where we were all part of this bundle a filmmaking bundle he was also part of that so i was a little bit of co in contact with him i don't know him personally that well actually but from what i've heard he's a great guy as well i think all the guys on youtube are great which is your favorite youtuber besides you ryan conley film riot uh jedi what do you cook jordy uh i have no idea what i'm gonna cook tonight i'm just gonna open up the fridge see what's in there a vegetable stew that's what it's gonna be um sahil do you know indian youtubers um yeah yeah uh i actually don't know them by name but i follow a couple of indian youtubers that are also into visual effects um there's one guy who made this pretty cool via vig's breakdown in his room i forgot his name but i commented on his video as well um yeah he makes pretty cool stuff wow okay let's do three more questions guys and then i'm really going to wrap it up because my my throat is getting sore and and i'm going to make dinner hungry uh let me see here three good questions um spare me some vegetables too uh let me see here um some good questions um oh it's hard when you limit your questions to only three more you want to pick at the best um [Music] uh let me see here guys so many questions okay i was gonna scroll up a little bit good questions guys come on come on good question is this question good i don't know god damn it there just answer the question okay two more left no no let's see let's keep that tree um i was stupid now all right let me just pick at anything here uh okay yes here good question joey sada what's your advice to someone who is now studying at film school um one of my uh i mean it depends on the film school at where you are at but at my film school they were very narrow they had a very narrow vision for instance we had this very big cameras the canon excel ones not sure if you know them very big white cameras they were all outdated because it was still in 4 3 aspect ratio it wasn't even widescreen and they demanded us to use those cameras and most of us at the time we had dslrs we had the canon 5d and the 7d which just came out at the time beautiful full hd video but we weren't allowed to use them at film school because those were photo cameras and like that which is one of one of the things they were also telling me that um like i wanted to make corporate videos i was really passionate about that also i wanted to make tutorial videos which i was already doing as a as a as as a hobby on youtube but they saw that as something amateuristic and they wanted they wanted me to focus on tv or film and i just didn't like that i don't like the television industry or the film industry that is very personal i don't like that that doesn't mean that anyone else shouldn't like it that is because it's too big in my opinion because you're just playing one role and i want to do everything i'm going to direct i want to do the camera work i'm going to do the editing i want to do everything myself and that is why i really loved making corporate videos and tutorial videos because there i was able to do that and i was listening too much to the the teachers at the time and i kind of at my final year at film school i actually wanted to quit with film all together because i just didn't enjoy it but i came in contact with someone who was making corporate videos for a living he had a small company and i was able to freelance for him and suddenly i was able to make a a basic income by making corporate videos i loved doing that so much and a whole new world opened up for me and i was like hey this is possible so my advice to you is don't listen too much to the teachers at film school uh follow your heart what you want to do just take the information what they are teaching to you if they teach you something about lighting about camera work take that and use that for something that you want to do but if they push you into doing something that you don't like then perhaps you have to do it to get your grades but just do it for that and that's it don't focus too much on that the film industry or the film world is so big video world there are so many different ways that you can go to um so uh yeah that's my advice oh wow we got another donation here i'm going to scroll up because i missed that apparently ah damn it where is it guys you're asking too many questions where is it uh you are amazing or is that that already that was already a donation from chris krishna kumar you are amazing thank no you are amazing thank you so much man all right um let me see here two more questions two more questions let me see here [Music] yeah it's really hard guys a lot of good questions actually uh i hear um [Music] no um guys what is important impression [Music] doing for okay um no this is hard this is the hardest choice i've ever made um i'm just gonna i just have to pick something i have to pick something random uh okay here uh question faisol human any tips for new youtubers okay i'm going to expand that question a little bit to anyone who's starting out with making videos anyone is new to making videos starting with something maybe starting with becoming a freelancer making youtube videos is kind of part of that um you probably hear this a lot but uh follow follow your heart um don't look too much at what other people expect from you a little bit not too much it's important to follow your heart what you want to do that is very important then the second thing is um like one of the things that i see happening a lot with starters is that they don't work too much on on the details of their work i went to the same mistakes as well when i started out you know when i went out to film or when i would make it visual effects i was super happy i was so amazed by uh that i was able to do something you know that i was able to make a certain visual or that i was able to shoot something i was like oh wow i did it look here guys look and i would publish it or i would send it over to my client but it wasn't polished enough so take time to polish everything as well into the details if your lighting isn't good take time to do that with your camera work the same thing with youtube videos as well if you're making youtube videos make sure that your edit doesn't have mistakes you know after you've rendered out your video watch it before you publish it look at those things and that is going to differentiate you a lot from other starters as well because i see that same mistake coming back everywhere if you are already polished you don't have to make like uh extremely good stuff if you can make basic things but spend the time and polishing that you already stand out and it seems like you're like like your stuff like like it seems like your basic stuff uh is a lot more advanced because you've polished it so there that that's my my biggest advice that i can give there all right um [Music] all right many people are asking for uh cracks and piracy and all that kind of stuff don't do it guys seriously don't do that a lot of people uh even adobe as big as they are they also they spend a lot of effort and time in making that software uh adobe max had just came around just see all the amazing stuff that they do there support just support the economy guys and and buy software if you want to have something support um the people that make the software or the classes i spend a lot of time in those classes guys uh it's not much it's ten dollars a month and skillshare you can even get 14 14 days for for for free so uh it really supports um and it allows us to if we if we get a good revenue from that we can use that to make better and more courses and we have been doing that on skillshare if you see the first courses on skillshare from us they were pretty basic but as time went on we were able to uh invest a lot more in those classes and and create a bigger value to other people um so yeah that wasn't answering a question last question now the last question all right the last question um okay here is the last question which i think is pretty good daniel dickenson any tips on finding budget for personal projects such as a short film so um when one of my first short films as a student what i did was it's something very local but you have these uh folders uh these brochures where you can scratch a a pick like it has a couple of picks on it pigs and you can scratch it and it has a number on it for example two euros or five euros so you just go door by door with that they scratch it and whatever number says on that you they have to give it to you and in return they get a coupon for a local store so you it's something very uh belgium or netherlands uh so i'm not sure if it exists in other countries but um you you could uh perhaps make that yourself uh like go to other businesses ask for coupons and sell those coupons like that's one thing kickstarter is one of those things of course ask for sponsors we also just went out to local businesses and provide them a certain value and with that i mean um look for a theater a local theater or a certain room that that that you can rent perhaps or loan uh where you can you know set a certain amount of people like 100 people not now with the corona times but in the future and if you then go to local businesses and say like hey i'm going to showcase my uh short film 200 people do you want to sponsor us i mean we can put your ads like your logo in the beginning you can also give a speech like before the film start you can give a speech to your audience sitting there in a theater and saying like hey i want to thank the sponsors who made my short films possible you know for example um jefferson kitchens uh sponsored us they make great kitchens here are some photos of the kitchens that they make um so it's kind of the same as with our youtube channel as well uh so that might be uh for personal projects um because you know one of the hard things with personal projects is that you always need to make sure to give a value back uh obviously um another thing could be like throw a party uh like a benefit party is that that the right right word so where you um just put a ball in the in the in the room and just say like guys if you have some spare money just put it in there i want to make a short film uh here are my ideas uh put it in there um in the meantime enjoy the evening chat party but don't forget to fill up that that ball you know uh so that that could be uh an idea to to get some money for a personal project but yeah i've been through that same thing um as a student i was also looking for money and mostly it was my own money that was putting into it but then again we did we did short films of 100 euros or something so yeah uh that was the last question guys um i'm going to wrap it up as well because it's now it's six o'clock right now i really want to go home it has been very late days for the past couple of weeks and i really need to recover now a little bit i can feel that i'm very tired lately probably because of that so thanks to adobe because of this project all right so um check out the link in description uh to game over the the short film and as well as the tutorials that are left um definitely make sure to check that out um so yeah that was it thank you guys thank you so much this was fun this was fun i hope that you guys enjoyed the live stream as well um if i can do anything better uh just after the live stream is over you can leave comments on it i'm just going to publish the live stream on the channel so just go ahead and leave any feedback that you might have so yeah that was it i don't know how to end this right now it's kind of awkward oh yeah i do i do look at that i actually made something i actually made something all right are you guys ready there you go thank you so much for watching guys normally you would see bloopers in here uh i don't have any bloopers uh but yannick is saying something lorenzo is saying something right here so you can read that uh anyways thank you so much for watching and before i forget of course and as always stay creative important guys stay creative really important all right that's
