The TL;DW is - although the collapse theories based on systematic and structural defects of a one party system still apply to China, it probably won't happen any time soon. Furthermore, many of the techniques being employed by Xi should not be interpreted as counterproductive or based on insecurity (even if they might be counterproductive and based on insecurity), as these actions are not meant to "solve" systemic problems, but to project an aura of power (which is working).
