hey guys molly here and we are going to finally do this much awaited tour of the whole house of our remodel [Music] all right so be sure to subscribe and hit the bell to be notified when our next video is live we've got lots of exciting home content coming your way uh we are going to do the full tour today which we've never done we've shared room by room of this project but never the full walk through this over here on the entry side used to be another formal living space this kind of had two formal living spaces right off the entry if you guys remember we put this wall here because we wanted to make one of those a bedroom we thought it would be a lot more functional that way and it still gives us one formal living room and that seemed like a much better plan for like the modern family certainly worked out better for us even though when i planned that i wasn't necessarily planning on living here this wall to make it feel more like an entry space i did add this like wall sconce's picture light and then the artwork below so that it just kind of gives a little bit of a differentiating feel to this entry space kind of sets it apart and then over on this side of course is the formal living space which we decided to use as kind of a living room slash office because we needed an office here and it's been good because we have two desk areas the one here is my side and then we have ben's over on this side he gets the view out the window he got the window office that's fine so this room has been i think a perfect balance for us of having you know a place where you can come sit sometimes when we're working our kids will come sit here and talk to us which i love and then we've got just kind of a more casual feel with the day bed and that also gives us an extra spot for somebody to stay if we have guests staying over we definitely took that into consideration with this house because we are in more of a vacation type town and so we do get visitors here so coming back here we're going to check out the bedrooms we're walking kind of through the living area which we'll look at in a second this one is the bunk room which is really fun because we wanted to have a space where all of our kids could fit like we were talking about with being able to have guests stay over the other two rooms can be guest rooms because they have queen beds and then these have the bunk beds so all of our kids all four of them can fit in one room and of course this face is just really fun feeling with these kind of cabin type bunks our kids have loved them so this space again was that formal living room once upon a time and now it's a really functional bedroom it's actually like i feel like the perfect size of space to fit the two bunks because we kept the window clear just barely and then these little toy bins are super fun they are a walmart find we added this here because there was of course not one and if you are turning a room into a bedroom from a formal space for instance you need to have a closet and also an egress window which is like one that you can open and escape out of if needed so those are kind of the check boxes for making a room into a bedroom next room is our daughter's room which is really fun and this one we do have the queen bed in here this was one i did in collaboration with walmart so some really fun pieces in here like this cute bed i just love the detail on it metal bed frame it feels really spacious in here we of course did the ship lap i did kind of a varying width on the ship lap just to mix it up of course the fun window over here i still need to um i still need to get some window coverings for that but pretty fun little room the closets in this house are big by the way i haven't really showed you those because the reason we haven't done this tour till now is because i just don't really keep that clean of a house i'll be honest with you usually kind of a mess and so i had to clean everything up and therefore the closets are full of crap um and the garage is also full of crap but it's pretty basic garage this is kind of a fun detail this little hallway closet it used to be just a really narrow coat closet and the temperature here is pretty warm year-round so we felt like a coat closet wasn't really that necessary and i just felt like a cute place to do a little detail and a little area for me to put decor because i have a lot of it and so we have loved that i just um had my cabinet company build these for me these floating shelves so they are custom i will link some similar ones for you guys because i have found some that are pretty close that you can order online okay coming in this bathroom i worked with build.com on this space it's really fun because you can order literally everything in this space online i went for these mirrors i love the double mirrors some people were going crazy because they're not perfectly the faucets aren't perfectly centered on them i wasn't stressed out by that because i loved the mirrors so much and it was the only way to you know fit everything but i'm sorry if that is something that stresses you out on the floor we have the most gorgeous tile this is that marble uh mosaic it has been one of my favorites like ever just because it has that really i don't know it's a really classic type pattern so this vanity is awesome because you can order it online and it comes just like this it is more of a gray wash so i'm seeing that my kids have toothpaste on it that's fine and it comes with you can select the countertop like i went for the carrera marble and it comes with the sinks as well so it's pretty cool because it has a really custom look but yet you can just order it right online have it shipped to you and then of course this cute artwork was defined from tj maxx definitely love that um this is a fun tile it kind of looks like a fabric almost like a linen type look and i i love that it has kind of a just a slight green undertone all right so now we're coming back out into the family room we're gonna hop over to the last well there's two more bedrooms but we're gonna go check out the bedroom first before i show you this main area all right so this bedroom is one that we also use as a guest room sometimes it's my oldest son's room i love this bedroom because it has these gorgeous slider doors that go out onto the patio gives so much light in here and this room's a great size which is part of what drew me to this house was how awesome the bedrooms are i went for kind of like a little bit more masculine feel in here with this woven leather headboard and then we even got some artwork that is from one of the local national parks here it's only about like 30 minutes from here oh and this desk this new desk i did get a bigger desk in here we wanted to use those two black ones that we had out in the living room so ben and i both had one this one has worked out really well because it's got a lot of storage again from tj maxx so such a great deal as well when we remodeled the bathroom in this house it was like one huge one and we split it so one half of that bathroom or really a little bit less than half went to this bedroom so this bedroom now has an ensuite bathroom and it also has this huge closet i'll give you a peek in the closet it's just huge you can see how how big that is all right so here's this bathroom so this bathroom due to the not having as much space we did it as a three-quarters bath so it doesn't have the tub in here but it does have a shower which is great because i think most people use a shower anyways so we added that and then i took the tile all the way to the ceiling just to give it like some drama and i think that that kind of makes it feel larger too having the ceilings kind of drawing attention up to the height in the ceiling so that the bathroom still feels large even though the floor space isn't huge this addition to we took out there had been that closet door here which was hitting this door so this is of course new and it's been great it offers a ton of storage and it's easy to get to as well so we kind of keep all the pool towels and all that stuff in this space since there's plenty of room in here our son has definitely loved having his own bathroom and it's worked out great for guests as well when they're staying here all right coming into the living room i love this space it's not huge so we had to get a little bit creative with the layout and everything and i feel like it feels pretty open and it's been been nice and functional we had the fireplace update of course with the stone and the woods around i love that i felt like that was such a big difference maker in how it felt before it wasn't so bad before it was just kind of traditional and plain but then we got all of this height you know again just taking your eye up to the ceiling and so you feel the space way more with kind of that update and then having the beam up there and we did also remove a piece of the um the wall there they had brought down a little bit so that there was kind of a little half moon shape there and taking that out just surprisingly really opened up the space this room of course is really open to the kitchen the other thing that is kind of cool about this layout and that i feel like is so efficient is that this house doesn't really have hallways and although hallways can be nice sometimes they they do end up being a little bit in my opinion a sort of a waste of space and kind of you know closed in so everything's kind of central off of this main area and so you don't have a lot of wasted space that's what makes me feel like this layout is just one of the best i've seen for this size of home makes it feel a lot more livable and a lot a lot larger than it really is we of course did this island instead of that peninsula with the drop down cabinets again just opening it up a ton and the fridge it is here and we have been loving it it took a little bit of time for it to arrive just with the delays lately but it looks great in here and kind of completed the kitchen ties in all the the appliances the cafe white appliances which i love and and it kind of allows us to show you this part of the house i don't know if you guys have ever seen kind of how everything connects but we've got you know this arch that we opened up of course that opens into the office living room space so it gives you kind of a better feel for all of this and how it interacts i seriously love this layout like i can't believe that it was a 90s 90s layout and with such few adjustments we could really make it feel completely modern of course we added those windows too so far the stone is doing well some people told me that it's gonna get stained and ruined but we've been here over six months and so far so good and then of course this dining nook i just love it too because it has such a good flow off the kitchen and you really can fit so many people on a little banquet seating like it's just perfect with you know all of our kids i recently shared how i styled this cabinet and also we updated these really cute drawer pulls i had had some faux leather ones on before but ben said they were a little too small for his fingers to grab so i got these little bit bigger ones and they are so pretty i love the metal detail the little bit of brass on them and they are like five bucks on etsy so i have to link them because they look expensive but they're not let's hop into the laundry room real quick which is just over here again this is a great i think layout because right behind the kitchen is where our pantry and um laundry space is and then also this little nook did not have this drop down light it just had a flush what do they call the can light up there and so this making this little nook kind of like a cute bench area sort of a place to take your shoes off when you come in from the mud room uh worked out really well and i think gave it some purpose because it had been a little bit random before and so coming in here this is the multi-function room with the pantry situation and the laundry all together i did this because we didn't really have a space for i didn't want to take counter space for the microwave in the kitchen and this is so close that i was like this will be just similar to a butler's pantry like we had in our last home of course when you're going from 7 000 square feet down to 2 000 square feet there are compromises that you make in terms of space but i think you can still bring a lot of the function and features that you like from maybe a larger home down to a smaller home and for me i liked having this you know pantry space that could be tucked away not having to have everything in the kitchen and that allowed for the microwave and the toaster to fit back here first cabinet here is actually we use that for part of the pantry as well and then this one's more for the laundry stuff and then kind of medicine and more like a linen type cabinet for that one washer and dryer we had originally they were just old ones that had been with the house and they were not front load and look how close we barely could fit this but it just clears it so that's kind of a miracle over on this other side is the primary bedroom and i love this space too because it gets tons of natural light it's it's just got a good feel about it i love being able to look outside to the pool area and then it has what one thing that really impressed me about this house again was this that this room feels up to modern standards in terms of size for a primary bedroom i don't feel like it's lacking at all in space and we were able to totally i think bring it up to date just by changing the light fixtures and the paint and carpet those really simple details to give it a way more modern feel i did change the layout originally the bed was on this wall and i felt like it would just feel more balanced being in the center and i kind of felt like the windows on either side is just the perfect accent to really frame the bed and make this a focal wall i love having a little bit of a seating area in a in a primary bedroom just so you can read or look at your phone whatever is your thing and then we have the tree of course in this corner that kind of brings your eye up as well gives you a feeling of the height i got the biggest faux tree i could find this one's like a nine foot this door was another fun addition we had the previous door kind of opened into the shower door which originally the shower was not so big but we did extend it and so it made it so the door was opening into the shower door which was no good and so i found this guy online and it is so cute and wasn't that expensive it comes with the track in this bathroom i actually kept the layout pretty much the same we just updated stuff the vanity was a big change i designed this with the fluted drawers and we love it it's got a little bit more of like a moody feel in here because i did um these dark counter tops and then the rich wood tones and then this bold mirror which is huge it's from ballard designs and it's such a fun way to emphasize this ceiling height again i really focus on that a ton with this house because it was it was sort of downplayed in the original it just it was like all these ceilings with nothing that made you appreciate them so i brought a lot of details to help draw your attention there and then this little makeup vanity i love we did the quartz countertop that looks like marble so you get the functionality of quartz but the look of marble is just a remnant piece and then it just gives a little place to sit and do your makeup of course and it's next to the natural light in this bathroom which was already here this little window but what used to be here was that huge clunky tub and now we have this sleek freestanding tub this is from vintage tub and bath and i love it because it's a matte white so it's a little bit different than your glossy acrylic tubs it's got a little more modern organic feel which i'm all about you know the shower of course like i was saying it only it used to have a linen closet like probably this much was linen closet and so the shower was actually kind of small and of course we did that little shelf under the vanity so we didn't need a linen closet the towels all tuck in there and this really made for a way more luxurious feel like i feel like this just made such a difference now let's head outside and we will conclude our tour there because that's kind of last space what i love about outdoor spaces that are really well planned is that you you get true living space additional living space from them especially in warmer climates like this you can spend so much time out there and you know have a dining area whatever else coming outside we've got our kids dining little spot here and then of course the main dining area we added this grill ben's got his grill here and the windows i was mentioning you can see them here they actually got a little stucco on we need to get them cleaned but you can see how much that changed both the interior and the exterior have the extra light go in in through there and then it kind of just is a little bit of a looks like a design element out here almost feels more complete the light fixtures are so fun too i added those we just had like some they were just the can lights that had been up there and so this added a whole new i think detail and dimension to the space having those and then out out here of course we have the little pool loungy area the fire pit isn't quite in but you can see the plans for it over here we recently shared how we did a flagstone patio similar to this that ben and i did in our front yard to do just off the front kind of like a front porch just off the front door and i'll show you these because i love i found out these are poisonous but look how beautiful they are these white blossoms they're called the oleander are in bloom and they are stunning we do have ours behind a fence which is good but somebody one of my followers direct messaged me and said those just so you know those are poisonous and i was like good to know this is of course one of my favorite pieces this like loungy day bed thing so cute and these are from living spaces thank you guys for
