This one and Civil War were amazing events in general. I can't really pinpoint what was so great about Civil War, but it just felt great. Maybe was it the very good filming? The bracket itself? I don't know, but that event really stuck as a good one.

E: Now that I think of it, I think it was character diversity. We got T's Link placing well, DK getting a good win with an amazing popoff and Esam winning as Samus. That's probably it!

This whole tournament was amazing.

Peak of the CB has to be Kameme's comeback on ZeRo

Frostbite just had an incredible narrative to it. Even more so than Civil War imo.

Sourness aside smash 4 seriously had an amazing run. I followed from the end of 2015 to late 2017 and there are so many hype moments, events, and tourneys. I remember frostbite was really special with this and even singles when Tsu’s insane lucario took zero to his limit. I just know Ultimate will have just as much if not more crazy moments and can’t wait to see how it all plays out

im trying to point this out because i love smash as an esport and i want to see it grow.

People LOVE rooting for a TEAM. There are many reasons for this but its just super exciting.

There is a reason this was the most viewed smash 4 match in its entire history (besides the whole e3 invitational). Please TO's out there, try to do more team/crew battles at tournaments. Please see the potential in this. TO's need to capitalize on the current ultimate hype and implement more crew battles ASAP. That way all newcomers will see the hype. Be able to pick a favorite team. Maybe join a their own team, etc.

Even casual smashers would root for their favorite team, the same way casuals of all things root for teams. Which equals more viewers, more viewers equals more sponsors, and thus more growth.

OR

even imagine sponsors putting together teams to pit against eachother. States vs States. Colleges Vs Colleges etc. Or even just small crews at locals.

There is a lot of fun/hype to be had with this.

Plus crews battles promote players coaching eachother. If your in a 5 man crew your gonna wanna help eachother get better so you can win, this would make newcomers feel comfortable if they were part of a team and had people helping them improve.

One of the best moments in my career as a TO was helping to make this amazing Smash 4 moment a reality. So happy to see it break 1 Million views before Ultimate officially releases.
