From Dream to Reality: A Customer's F355 Restoration Journey (Final Interview!)

[Music] oh [Music] w [Music] [Music] so here she is yeah completely stripped down exactly she looks very different to when I I loaded her in the truck to be sent to you it is and now yeah and now she's no longer red she's uh gray gray so this is how we going to prepare the car so it has the primer actually the car is really worked in the red when it was red we really worked to have a plain Sur face yeah after this we put the primer so with this primer we can work it as like a mirror as you've seen in the other parts yes and from here we we just you know go ahead to have the best finish ever and it looks amazing I mean even just to see how how you've got it so smooth already I mean yeah and follows all the lines of the car perectly so yeah and I noticed that uh there were some parts that that I pointed out to you on photos before with the inside the door and everything is already so in here you've completely reworked it and yeah it was totally rusted yeah there was some Rust around this area I think from where the water was coming in from the the roof and coming down so this has the epoxy treatment uh stops we can say the the rust okay and now this the frer just to get the a finish because this goes black even on top you have the the exactly so here so you don't see anything here but at least it's repaired and done y there here also it was a there was a little a little uh yeah I don't know how it happened the previous owner I think had somehow put some weight on there maybe he put a girl on there I don't know wasn't me so now it's gone yeah right so the bumper so yeah this is the most impressive piece of work because the previous owner unfortunately I negotiated well for the price though had removed part of this this part was completely gone um I think he had caught it on the parking or something like this and completely ripped this off this is the biggest challenge I gave Manel to try to to fix the front bumper I'd been told by other people it wasn't possible to fix and I need to buy a new one which isn't very possible with a 26y old Ferrari so uh what's amazing is I actually think that this part was the original part when we first looked at it so it's it's an amazing job incredible it looks it looks absolutely perfect and uh I say it even looks better than this side which is the official official Ferrari part yeah we tried to it's amazing we tried to mirror from one side to the other side so giving the same shape same because actually we were losing even you know where to fit exactly so we even lose that so we had to mirror that what process did you do to to rebuild this that's secret secret process I like that I'm fine with that an amazing secret process so well just fiber as the as the the the bumpers are from fiber we have to repare it with fiber so fiber epoxy still give the the proper shape which is the procedure as it was before and now than right now incredible [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] SP [Music] for [Music] different step different process which is the disassembly of this amazing engine of this Ferrari 355 GTS so I have my guys working during all the day doing the disassembly from the engine tubes cables from the from the chassis now we're going to disassembly the engine with a full sub chassis which is going to give us a much better way to work we're going to do full ref forage of all the engine and all the chassis so let's see in couple of hours we have the engine down I will explain to you how was process actually you will see all the process because it's an amazing process we have old cameras recording all these process so let's see how it goes let's them let them continue with this this hard work and let's see how is it [Music] going [Music] so very exciting moment now we are releasing a little bit the bolts so in a few minutes we will have the engine down meanwhile they are removing every single piece of the engine we have here all the shelves where we put so every single bolt is already in these little boxes that during this week we're going to be cleaning uh doing the zinc and so on so everything is detailed here so no way to miss anything CU this is one of the things that we really work hard here so the to be really really really concerning on the order of everything and well let's see cuz in in just few minutes we disassembled the engine so let's go for it so here we have the engine is out after a full day of work with the team so we have to congratulate all the team working hard during all this hard day so well now we need to do all the refurbish to all this so here we are we have the engine fitted inside and now we're going to fit properly the S frame into the chassis so well we will be totally concentrated everyone in silence and he is the boss and he perfect we know it so like like a plane Jesus wow look at that so the engine sound is amazing so all the work was successfully done we are really really happy so now we're going to feed the last items that are missing in the engine and wow so now we are really really happy that the car starts at the first time so [Music] perfect well just take a seat thank you and welcome home again it's great to be back the the home of uh best restorations in the world thank you for that of course so well how is the car feeling and how is everything I mean when you receive the people saying you know it's been an amazing process to have followed uh the whole the whole journey of the restoration through uh through through what you did from all the things that we discovered about the car the the hidden things I mean when you take a car from the mid90s and you try to restore it in an original way the thing the small details that you were able to find the parts you were able to replace with original Ferrari Parts following this through was exciting but then to see the finished product to see how beautifully done the the hand work was the fact that all the nuts and bolts were done it was just done to perfection um it was better than I I could have dreamed of in all honesty thank you very much for that really nice work why I mean you know you have to give praise where where it's true so you will never imagine that you will have such a thing in your home wow so I let you open okay just on the side no way oh my God be careful it's open I'm you can remove the I'm speechless that is a beautiful beautiful example you know it's oh my God your car it's my car it's your car it's really my car with your number plates on it and it's made on purpose to have the roof it's handmade one for you that that's I'm yeah I'm speechless you know I've been looking for at one of these I looked all over the world I even went to the the car show in Paris and was looking for a model of a 355 and I couldn't find it anywhere let me open for you so you have the plate that it also has registered the at Tech yeah theal number and then just in case you guys can't see that so everything opens everything has the details as same as your engine so everything is painted and wowed as as yours that's truly truly incredible so well thank you so much I don't know what to say thank you problem thank you for
