FROM BAD, TO WORSE, AT THE DDE HQ ...

we're out here it is we out here in the diablo whoa okay okay okay what is up you guys welcome back to another episode of daily driven exotics we are just in huntington beach i'm heading over to the shop i want to give you guys an update on the shop we are i think in the process of fixing the floors i think so anyhow we got a new company they've come in they have a plan and it's completely different than the old plan so i will tell you the second we get there we're only a few minutes away in the meantime let's enjoy the beautiful california sunshine and the sweet sound of a porsche pain in the ass to get renovated we had issues with the floors we had some issues with getting security's tight around here we had some issues obviously getting the lifts installed we were working on getting air oh man it's made my head spin i'll tell you that i'd really like to just have my shop so we can do shop things in it and not do things like floors the last thing is going to definitely be some art because it's a little boring in here it will be dressed up once we have obviously the cars on the lifts and now i'm very happy to announce the lifts are all done functioning we now have electrical and air and everything we need to make the lifts go up and down doesn't seem like a big thing but it really was on the list of to do's everything right now is currently sitting out here in the main part of the garage because the guys are going to do the same process as the other guys which is start in the back room work their way from the back to the front and as you probably remember we're having some issues with the pure epoxy product so here's how it all went down we had someone reach out to us from that company who wanted to basically put floors in here and have us make a video for them which we did the downside is their product didn't take to the floors there were some issues when trying to put the pure epoxy onto the concrete because very moisture then we found out that there was a product that that company also sells for moist concrete floors and so we had some of that we mixed it up with the epoxy we laid it down and unfortunately 24 hours later there are just a few really tough spots in here that have higher water pressure or whatever it is i'm not a flooring guy i'm just reiterating what i was told there's certain spots in here that just will never take epoxy wow it really echoes in here when there's nothing in here and so what we have to go with now is a completely different solution that unfortunately the other company doesn't have anything for us anymore that we can even use the other company too that we were working with the installers by the way they were great caesar amazing guy he's done everything he can to make these floors work and they're just unfortunately not working he would test one section in here and it would give a certain reading and then somewhere else in a corner or whatever there'd be a higher water pressure reading and that's why we're having these issues to try to coat the whole floor with one product not gonna work so what do we do some of you are already saying polish concrete i saw it in the comments you smart sons i know there's some really talented people on the other end of this camera i would love to have you come and work with us it's just always tough to sift through the thousands and thousands of comments to find the people that are one local and two able to come here and three do it in a scheduled time that works for us and for them so regardless we found somebody and we are now in the process of as you can see in this room i'm going to show you we've already removed all of the epoxy and they've already done their first i guess part of a series of grinding down the layers and then they get to polishing start up with a very hard i don't know what the word is it's like sandpaper grittier type of product and then they go finer and finer and finer obviously until it's polished now everything removed and they've gone as far as patching up little parts of the floor they've patched up parts of our back room here they have all these crazy machines in here right now from i don't know what that is i don't know if that's a grinder or a polisher and they've sealed up all the holes so this whole back room is going to be dry in 24 hours then they will come back tomorrow and continue polishing and grinding and blah blah blah blah blah so that's where we're at we're gonna end up with polished concrete floors at the end of all this not that epoxy kind of like aircraft hanger look now that's obviously not what i originally wanted but it is what it is it's where we're at you can see just how thick this stuff is and look at how coarse they have to use to get through this stuff like look at that it's like chunked right through there and yet it's not all the way down to the concrete so this is a really big job to try to take this coat off in this whole building through and in between all the lifts and then go around again and again and again with a finer grit to polish it until you get that really nice kind of medium to high polish look with the lights i was told and the polished concrete it's gonna look really cool in here in the meantime let's do a little montage of the shop in its current shambles because after all this i don't want to do this anymore [Music] hopefully in seven days this is all gonna be behind us and just a faint memory of disaster and hey you know what sometimes in life especially in business when you're in business for yourself these are just parts of the trials and tribulations that you go through to get to the quote unquote success of it all you know when this is all done and beautiful and the cars are all lined up on the back of the racks behind us on the lifts on those beautiful bendpak lips by the way because these are so much more updated and so much more modern and nice looking like oh i love these i love them we're gonna be so grateful that we went through all this pain to get here now we also need some new cabinets i don't know what we're doing about that yet we're going to need some new tool boxes we got a whole bunch of tools and then well the process of the building of the cars commences it's been a month and a half behind schedule and i apologize to you guys i know you've all just wanted to get on with this and watch the 550 get built and the f12 get built but here we are now it hasn't been all doom and gloom here at the ddhq it's just taking a little longer than we anticipated and we will eventually get to where we all want to be right now why don't we go and drop off the career gt and jump in the diablo and take a nice little drive up to los angeles and go meet with a homie that lock see how it doesn't i'm not even making this up it doesn't open right you have to slide a card in it sounds bad what the hell come on trust me not the hammocks that's the only one that works is metal because it's mad bro there that's okay see this see this pin that's why because the pins in there got it but it's the only thing that holds the door closed so what you got to do is when you're done pumping you got to put this in and lock it with the key and then it'll hold the door closed that's a lot of work that was a lot of work okay take this okay i just want to illustrate how low it's
