you welcome back to trailer park cookin I'm Jeannie be delicious and today we're going to make another great recipe before we get started though I just want to remind everybody that if you have a recipe you would like shown on my show and your name accredited to the recipe you can email me at genie be delicious at gmail.com alright today we're going to make a recipe involving spam or you can just call it lunch on meat in a can so I'm going to make a fried potato breakfast using the spam so we've got potatoes for our recipe I have two red potatoes I've got some corn because I like a little bit of corn in my fried potatoes so with the spam it just is a nice complement we're going to use eggs some seasoning salt oil of course to fry the potatoes in our pan all right let's get started so first what I like to do like you've seen in previous episodes of my potatoes is I like to cut my potatoes and nice small slices lengthwise and then once I cut them in small slices lengthwise I split them in half so that I can again do the same thing I like my potatoes to be smaller instead of the thick slices because they become crunchy err a lot easier so then you get these little tiny slices about this big which is not as big as you would see it in a restaurant kind of become like hashbrowns almost some people call these potato fries or home potatoes I just call them fried potatoes two things we like around this place is a good beer cold beer on a summer day and nice fried potatoes I put a few tablespoons of oil this is a Crisco blend of some sort turn my pan on to medium-high you know I'm feeling a little garlicky today so I'm just gonna take a little bit of this garlic my mom grows a garden every year and this is fresh garlic out of her garden so fresh garlic of any kind is a good time I'm just going to scoop that right on to my potatoes as they're sitting here besides who doesn't like a little garlic in their potatoes why our pans heating we can set our potatoes to the side open our can is Sam lift it up a little bit there's the key holder you slide it through the hole and then you just start turning if you're not careful you'll break it off and then you'll end up with a mess so this is the lunch on meat and it can or spam as most people call it just shake it out of the can there's your spam it's like chipped meat but what I'm going to do is cut it into slices and then I'm going to cut it into little tiny pieces and fry it up just like any other meat now it's already precooked so you could actually just add mayonnaise to it and put it on a slice of a couple slices of bread and some lettuce yummy yummy spam stand is in a can I'm not going to add any oil to the pan because span has its own oil I mean you could add oil but you have to hmm yep it's like baby food for me potatoes is kind of a listening game start frying them by just letting them sit there for my seasoning salt on top and then I just let them cook until I hear the pitch or sound of the potatoes sound like they're increasing and frying and that to me is like a signifier that they're they're ready to stir so we got our spam and stick it in this little pan right next to it it's going to cook down a little bit so it'll go nicely with our potatoes I can hear the increasing temperature potatoes so kind of service makes them nice and golden brown on one side and just set it up really nicely when we add our corn to it this is going to be right now we have our corn this is just sliced corn off the cob because you know it's summer and there's always a ton of horn available super cheap in the supermarket in the summers and you can buy it off the side of the road like 10 ears of corn bird like a couple bucks so super cheap and easy to get a hold of but I like to kind of make my corn a little bit crispy in my potatoes - just keep on cooking them our span looks like it's cooking nicely too let's check that out all right so I'm going to add the spam to my tails my scam is nice and crispy on the outside and my potatoes are nice and crispy and done on the inside you turn this burger up so you don't burn yourself and so now we're going to add our eggs to it just a couple a you this is one of my favorite breakfast recipes besides my absolute favorite which you all will probably love and that's my biscuits and gravy I love biscuits and gravy sausage biscuits and gravy to be exact with a side of bacon you got fat on top of fat it's such a comfort food for me though I like to let it cook so that it gets a little crumbly because I like to taste the whole ingredient separate from each other on a way see how the eggs get nice and crumbly and I'm just going to work in the outside edges to the inside edges of the scam and potatoes my spin because the tails are cut small got my Tapatio got my salt and pepper so I'm going to first add a little tap of tío to the top of it a little bit of salt not that you need much because the spam itself is really salty anyway and add a little bit of pepper I'm excited to try this this is one of my favourite meals like I said besides anything that includes bacon of course I love bacon now it's perfect we got the kind of a chewy texture to the corn and we got the price fried potatoes that are nice and crisp on the edges and then you have the chewy spam and the egg my mouth is watering hey folks if you'd like to have your recipe on my show email me at genie be delicious at gmail.com include your name and your recipe and I'll mention your name and the recipe and cook your recipe on my show oh of course join us next time for another great recipe on trailer-park cookin I'm Jimmy be delicious bye y'all you
