french onion soup for all the seasons  stay tuned where is my knife [Music] we need a lot of bananas no I'm just  kidding we actually need a lot of onions   remove the first layer of the onion  then chop them into Julian pieces chop chop chop okay look at what I'm doing but  just remember not to do this at home [Applause]   foreign [Applause] now take a pot and put some butter and oil let the butter melt slowly  then add the onions [Music] in order for the onion to get caramelized we  have to add sugar and then some salt [Music] now let's chop the garlic we're  gonna chop them into pieces while we're doing this the  onion is losing a lot of water   look it's turning into the  caramelized onions we wanted [Music]   since the color of the onion have changed and since you're done chopping all of the garlic [Music] it's good to add the garlic to The Onion you know it's better to add white wine or  some white vinegar if you don't have it then deglaze it add the beef stock and bay laurel oregano and black pepper [Music] now put the lid let it cook for 20 minutes you can actually serve the soup right after  it's ready you can pour it into a bowl [Music] put a piece of bread on top [Music] and add some Parmesan and mozzarella cheese now you can put it in the oven  so the cheese melts [Music] [Music]   after garnish it with some freshly  grind black pepper and spring onion   guys this soup is the miracle of  the century have fun making it [Music] thank you Bon Appetit goodbye foreign
