you're going to want to avoid anything I talk about here today will be linked in the description box below and nothing in this video is sponsored and I did this project completely 100 free stay tuned for more on that one and I have some good organizing products to share with you I will share the time it took for me to complete this closet refresh and hopefully I can give you motivation on your own organizing Journey whether you are six or a hundred and six these tips and tricks will apply to you and I'm not going to show you some weird hack that you're never gonna use that's gaudy and doesn't really work or waste your time in this video so when you walk away from this video you're gonna have some actual tools to use in your own home maybe you've been on YouTube searching for organs motivation you find weird hacks like this that don't actually work now before we get started let me show you a before of this closet refresh this is an open-faced closet the doors were taken off so that there is more room to access the items you can see it is very deep in size so it's not a great use of space the top shelf is all cluttered and I hate these organizers by the way can you see gravity pulling down and making them look cheap she needs to easily access everything in this closet start time of this project is approximately 9 35. clutter clutter and more clutter makes a space look smaller than it actually is in fact it makes you feel chaotic that's why I came up with the business name refreshed homeco because you're gonna feel refreshed after using these tips and tricks you're going to be able to breathe you're going to walk into space or open a drawer and be like that's amazing no joke that's how I feel after I organize something and you will too or at least feel better than when you start it when it comes to organizing any space in your house it could be a pantry it could be a bathroom it could be a closet just like this is to conceal the visual clutter this is going to make such a difference in choosing the correct products to do this is going to be game changing you can see the top shelf here just by removing this clutter and finding better storage solutions for it it's going to make such a difference my partner and I we went ahead and cleared everything out of this closet so we could really see the canvas that we are working with and how much product we had for each category you can see here the closet already looks much bigger than it actually is I know it takes a lot of time but it's going to be worth it you also want to make sure that you have matching hangers here's a pantry refresh that we recently did we took everything out of here it looks gorgeous it looks beautiful if you're interested in this I will link this video in the description box below as well since I do this on a full-time basis I've had my fair share of organizing products and gadgets and gizmos from all different places but I will tell you this you do not need to spend thousands of dollars to make your home beautiful and refreshed and organized again so let me show you how you can repurpose and reuse and make it look nice too No One's Gonna know that you got this at the thrift store or the Dollar Tree or any place like that many videos on YouTube will show you how to organize but only after you've spent thousands of dollars no we are not doing that my friend once a week I go to Goodwill or thrift store just to see if they have any good finds now be aware a lot of times things are overpriced at thrift stores but this was an excellent Gem and I'm going to use these in this particular project just three dollars for this high quality drop tray and look at this jewelry organizer for just 3.99 heck to the yes it's in great condition and it's beautiful now this is an Amazon find this was an absolute must because she cannot reach the top shelf of her closet this could also be used in any closet I'm probably going to be using this in an upcoming mud room project but you create more vertical space Also matching hangers are key you want high quality hangers I'm loving these I have used these in so many clients projects velvet is sometimes cumbersome to get on and off the hanger the top swivels on these which is fantastic and it doesn't collect lint like velvet hangers she already had these hooks in her closet so I wanted to utilize it strategically for her backpacks and her purses and since we moved that white bin out now she can really get to it this is a Dollar Tree item and what I'm going to put in here are her shoes you don't want to put two heavy items in Dollar Tree bins because they will often crack but where I place it it will work out beautifully now these bins are from Home Goods I actually got them on clearance what a steal of a deal they are high quality and when you're putting heavier items and bins you want to make sure that you are buying quality I also needed some sort of chest because she had all those items on the top shelf that probably still need to be gone through a little bit more but that was not my place to do it now this dresser is a new find and I'm loving it the front washes off easily it comes in multiple colors nothing in this video is sponsored I'm loving this she needs to easily get her clothes just 85 dollars for this typically what I would buy is a cube organizer say at Walmart which I absolutely love I have some ones that are my go-to's but when you buy the bins it actually ends up being around 140 or so the other place I like to look is the end caps particularly at Home Goods I can often find some baskets that are clearance and then I just hold on to these for different clients projects but if you yourself know that you're going to be refreshing a space these are some fun tips and tricks for you to utilize so that you can make your space beautiful on a budget this basket here was also on clearance this is a Dollar Tree item just a dollar 25 for this beautiful Drop basket these are my go-to rugs I have them in my home I like to use them in clients homes I wanted to have this to tie the space together because remember it needs to be beautiful when it comes to organizing any space it's very important to think outside the box that's funny oftentimes the closet is kind of like a box let your creative Juices Flow and go to town you don't even color in the Box you can get all crazy outside that coloring box foreign I think it was so smart to take these doors off this closet so maybe you yourself in your home have a door that could be taken off so that you can get in the space much easier this is a previous closet refresh that I did we had this beautiful space on top that I could use as a focal point when you enter the closet so it can be a work of art and if you able to refresh and declutter enough chances are you have some spaces where you can beautify them a little bit make it a place you never want to leave this basket was a weird shape but I thought you know what this is going to be perfect for just dropping little Trinkets and toys and this also oh my goodness this was a new find I love this I wanted a focal point for the closet this came on just beautifully and it was such a great price I'm definitely going to be using this product again in future clients homes but I wanted to personalize it lighting is also so important particularly in Darker spaces so I got these multi-color lights that are motion activated to make this fun for her and make it gorgeous and functional this is one of my favorite tips and that is function over fancy you need your space to function more than anything else because if you buy all this fancy stuff and you make it look really nice it's going to be hard to maintain because the fanciness wears up did you ever get a new car or a car that was new to you and you're like this is the best thing ever and then time passes and you're like I hate this car the same thing applies to your closet or any sort of organizing project or maybe you got this flashy new tap and you're like yeah I'm rocking it and then like two weeks later you're like I hate that top it itches it's scratching me I got side boob cleavage and I didn't want that any other reason you can think of it the other beautiful thing about this closet refresh that we did it's going to be super easy to maintain because everything's got a very strategic simple streamlined home and that's exactly what we want whenever I organize a space I'm always asking myself how can I make this so easy for my client to maintain where he or she doesn't even have to think about it you can see here there's just so many different organizers at play here it kind of makes it look cluttered kinda it really does make it look cluttered so I evaluate the space how are we going to function in this space how can we maintain it and that's where I will bring in the fancy if it calls for it again on a budget this closet organizer I previously showed you I love it you can raise the bars higher or lower depending upon what you need this is great for costumes you can access the vertical space better look at this Dollar Tree bin put it inside another bin this is the dresser drawer that we got on Amazon but here you can separate items within a drawer and you don't need to buy a bunch of items just to color code it and make it look beautiful you can use what you have as a kid did you ever play hide and seek you go hide and then somebody's counting and maybe you hide in the most weird place is ever and like no one's finding you and you're like yes I'm winning this game of hide and seek or maybe they find you right away and you're like dang I'm terrible at this game I I was just sweating in this corner waiting for you to find me I mean I don't know I just remember as a kid just getting in the worst places ever by the way I don't let my kids play hide and seek in my house because of the places that things that I used to do as a kid I'm kidding then as adults you are no longer going to be playing hide and seek with any item in your home oh no no Nelson's hiding because we're gonna open that door and find it blah and since you will be touching every single item even things in drawers and bins that you have not looked in in a while whether you're going to donate trash it recycle it whatever you want to do you are going to create a home for every item you are never going to lose a item again unless somebody walked into your house and put it somewhere it did not need to be and even in the drawers and the bins there's going to be organization you're going to want to open that drawer and keep it that way because it looks so nice so well maintained these tips and tricks are going to carry over I guarantee into other aspects of your life you're going to feel more relaxed you're going to feel refreshed you are going to feel peaceful home is where the heart is and by that every item in your home should have its own home if you struggle with bringing a lot of things into your home maybe hoarding maybe there's just this it's just an excess amount of things this tip is definitely going to help you it's going to make you rethink what you bring into your home because if it's got to have a home you're already thinking like where am I going to put this item kind of stops you your tracks and helps with decision making and helps you save money and we love that don't we you know that expression home is where the heart is every item like Maria condo and she's just like thank your items stay tuned that final reveal is coming soon just t-shirts stuffed animals do not treat any object as if it has no significance again you made that decision to bring it in your home so give it the love that it needs I was able to reuse this bin for her stuffed animals in a more functional way and create a work of art but allow her to easily see her stuffed animals I use this top shelf to put all of those items up high that she does not access on a regular basis and made it look organized and beautiful all on a budget yes we love that look at these cute stuff animals I wanted to be playful I want it to be fitting for her age when you create a space that is not only functional but it is visually appealing it makes you want to keep it that way look at how well this hanging system came into play and look at the front of this the rug really tied these two spaces in together with the closet and the bedroom here we're going to put the shoe so that she can easily access them when she needs to we're using our Dollar Tree drop tray for just some different trinkets such as hair ties that she would use to go to gymnastics or whatever sporting events that she does this is our Goodwill tray that we're going to put some of her fun jewelry in it's visually appealing and it's easy to access and maintain this is probably one of the best tips of them all although all these are very practical and I use them in every single closet or home refresh that I do it could be a pantry it could be bathroom it could be under a cabinet or kitchen sink we know where we like to hide stuff and put stuff and wear all that clutter collects but Rockin routines people will come to my house and they say energy and how is your house so clean with four kids well I'll tell you this they're gone all day so it's only clean that but when they come home it's a complete disaster but I'm able to whip it back into shape when they leave or if companies coming around the weekends because of these Rockin routines it's kind of like driving a car when you first start driving a car you really gotta pay attention to what you're doing and now if you've been driving for many years you get to a location you're like I do not even know how I got to this location like my body just went there when you have Rock and routines when it comes to cleaning and organizing you will have cleaned your whole house and you don't even know how it happened just kidding but you get the point I want you to always have a refreshed mindset isn't that is great right there refreshed mindset like clear it's great and applies to when it comes to your home when you're touching things around your home and you're using your racking routines and you're putting things in their place and your five minute or ten minute routine whatever you've established for that particular day if you see something that doesn't belong in your home trash it dump it recycle it donate it but do something with it other than let it remain in your home if you don't love it anymore and it's not serving a function it's not sparking joy as Mario kondo would say and as I would like to say if it does not bring you peace also don't expect things to change overnight our homes get to certain situations because of habits and routines and people in and out and all the things that we do on a regular basis so give yourself a Pat in the back when you do something in the right direction you feel refreshed you feel grateful you feel happy for the things that you completed and slowly over time you're going to wake up one day and say to yourself wow my house has never looked better than now and you'll start to notice that your organizing efforts start to permeate Aid throughout your home maybe you're starting a drawer and then you go to a cabinet and then under a sink and then you go to a closet because you start to get in the groove and you're going to feel so good at the end result when you do these little things I make my bed every single day I don't even have to think about it I don't even have to debate with myself whether I want to do it or not because I've put myself in autopilot and if I don't do the bed making thing then I'm like what is happening it's so weird it's so strange it's so uncomfortable that I then have to make it to get a rid of that uncomfortable feeling you know what I mean one of the greatest things that brings
