i play a lot of fortnite judge me so  i made a fun little animation to play   on stream that lets my viewers know i  have an epic game supporter creator code   without being too intrusive  it looks something like this and i made it easily customizable so you can  use it on your streams and videos with your   own creator code all you have to do is  download blender link in the description   download the file from the discord link  also in the description and follow along   and if you want to learn more about how to use  blender so you can start making stuff like this   from scratch i just released an entire  10 part intro to blender series for free   on this channel make sure you check that out too  and if you like these kinds of free templates and   tutorials the absolute best way to say golly gosh  t willockers thanks mister is to hit that like and   subscribe button and ring the bell not only does  it substantially improve my day but it also lets   you know when there's cool new stuff to check  out and boy oh boy do i have some cool stuff   planned that you're definitely not going to  want to miss and while you're at it go ahead   and subscribe to my other youtube channel too  that's where you can catch me live that being   said let's get started my name is chris folia  i'm your stream scholar welcome to stream school   all right when you first open the blender  file it should look pretty similar to this   and the absolute very first thing you want to do  do not skip this step is go up to the top middle   of the screen and click on the shiny circle button  that'll turn this viewport into a rendered preview   window just so you can see what it looks like  as you're working on it now to customize this   with your own creator code is extremely easy  to do all you have to do is come over here to   the right where it says your code here and you're  going to want to click on it to select it notice   how it's highlighted in orange now that means it's  selected so next you're going to want to hit tab   on your keyboard to go into edit mode and at this  point it's pretty much just a basic text editor   so i can hold backspace on my keyboard to erase  the your code here and now i can just type in   whatever my creator code is so mine is oracle fish  which by the way that is my actual creator code   use code oraclefish if you feel so inclined  but once you've typed your creator code in here   all you have to do is hit tab to go back out of  edit mode notice how it's highlighted orange again   and at this point you probably want to play it  back just to see what it looks like in motion   so to do that you can come down here to the  timeline controls click on the left most button   the go to first frame of the animation button i  don't know if it actually has an official name   but if you click on that it'll take you to the  first frame of the animation then you can hit play   you'll notice it plays back the animation it has  hopefully your creator code in the text box now   and then it goes away i think it's just a  nice simple non-intrusive way to say hey i   have a creator code that i think you should use  it would really help me out so anyway i'm going   to go ahead and hit space to re-pause that at  some point in the animation it doesn't really   matter and the next step is going to be to export  this and they're going to be two different sets   of parameters you're going to want to use to  export this depending on whether you want to   use this in obs on your stream or whether you  want to use this in video editing software like   adobe premiere or davinci resolve so first things  first let's say you just want to use this in obs   on your stream and that's all you want to do with  it well you're in luck because i already have all   of the export settings set up correctly for that  i have it set up to save out as a transparent webm   video file that you can import into obs so  all you have to do is come over here to the   right where it says output click on the folder and  here you're just going to name this whatever you   want to name it i'm going to call mine fortnite  animation popup dot webm kind of a convoluted   name i'm gonna click off of the text there and  before i hit accept i need to explain something   so once we set this this does not create the video  file yet this is literally just telling blender   where we want to save the video file when we  do the actual render process so when you hit   accept and you don't see the webm file on your  hard drive don't panic that is normal i promise   so here i'm going to hit accept and now to  actually render this out into a video file   i'm gonna go up to the upper left-hand corner  of the screen where it says render i'm gonna   click on it i'm gonna go down to where it says  render animation and i'm gonna click on that   this point this window will pop up and it'll start  very slowly playing through our animation um don't   worry this isn't the actual playback speed of  the animation blender is just going through the   entire animation frame by frame generating each  individual high quality image of our video file   so your video file is going is not going to exist  until this is done playing all the way through   but once it gets to the end then and only then  your webm file will be on your hard drive wherever   you specified in the folder dialog now i'm not  gonna make you sit around here and wait for   this because we've got bigger fish to fry so  i'm gonna exit out next let's say you want to   export this to use in video editing software like  adobe premiere or davinci resolve unfortunately   neither of those packages as far as i know are  compatible with webm video files so if you want   transparent video in a video editing tool your  best bet is going to be to use an image sequence   specifically a png image sequence and what i  mean by that is literally just a folder full of   tons and tons of individual image files one image  per frame of your animation when you import this   into premiere or resolve it'll treat it just  like a regular video but it'll be high quality   and it'll have a nice transparent background  which you can't get with most video file formats   so to do that what we're going to do is  come down here to where it says file format   i'm going to click the drop down and here we're  going to save this as a png now to save this out   so that it has individual frame numbers in the  file name there's something special we need to do   so i'm gonna click the folder i'm gonna go to  my out folder and here i'm gonna make a brand   new folder just for this image sequence it's not  a hundred percent necessary but it's really really   nice and i highly recommend staying organized so  i'm going to call this fortnite pop-up hit enter   i'm going to double click to go into that folder  and here i'm going to call this fortnite pop   up dot hashtag hashtag pouncesign foundation  pound sign whatever you want to call them   dot png and what that will do when this exports  is it will replace the pound signs or hashtags   again whatever you want to call them with whatever  frame number the image is so the image png file   for frame 20 will be fortnitepopup.020.png  the image file for frame 140 will be fortnitepopup.140.png you get the point it's going  to save out a whole bunch of different image files   we just need a way to tell it to add the image  file to the file name and that's how you do that   so now i'm going gonna hit accept i'm gonna  make sure that the color is set to rgba a is the   alpha or transparency channel if you don't have  this checked you're not gonna get a transparent   background on your image and then finally i'm  just gonna go up to render and render animation   just like we did with the webm but now rather than  generating each individual frame of a video file   it's generating each of these individual frames as  an image in a folder which is really cool because   if you need to pause and go do something else and  then pick up where you left off you can do that   but anyway once this is done completely playing  through you'll have your image sequence in your   folder that you specified on your hard drive and  that's pretty much all there is to it now hopping   over into obs let's say we want to take our  webm and use it on our live stream so to do that   i'm going to bring my windows explorer window over  here i'm going to find the webm file we just made   i'm going to click it and i'm going to drag it  into obs you're going to notice that it's going   to play through and then it's going to disappear  which is going to make it pretty difficult to   position on screen so what i'm going to do is  i'm going to click fortnitepopup.webm right here   i'm going to click the little eyeball to hide it  i'm going to click the eyeball to play it again   and then i'm gonna click this pause  button at a good portion in the animation   now i missed it this is already transparent again  but with this little time slider right here in obs   i can just click this and drag it back until it  looks like a good position for me to position this   on screen so now that i can actually see where  this window is i'm gonna move this down to the   lower right hand corner of my screen nice here out  of the way i think that looks pretty good finally   i'm going to hit the play button it's going to  play through and it's going to disappear so the   idea on your stream is going to be to unhide the  animation let it play through and then you're   going to want to hide it again unfortunately while  you're streaming that's going to be extremely   tedious to do it's kind of a bummer to have to  do that manually so what i'd recommend instead   is using something like an elgato stream deck  or the elgato stream deck app or any other sort   of similar tool but to set this up on the elgato  stream deck we can set it up using a multi-action   on one button and how you do that is you go to  the stream deck software go to the stream deck   drop down to the right there's a whole bunch  of different categories i turned most of them   off except for stream deck and obs studio if  you're unfamiliar with this so anyway under   the stream deck drop down i'm going to grab a  multi-action and i'm going to drag that to a   button slot on my stream deck it'll bring this to  this multi-action sort of layout panel uh don't   panic it's not as complicated as it looks and here  i'm just going to grab a source from the obs drop   down so i'm going to grab source click and drag  this over and then i'm going to make sure all of   these drop downs are correct so the collection  doesn't matter for us right now the scene   is tutorial scene that is correct in obs and the  source is fortnitepopup.webm that's also correct   now we do want this to activate so this is correct  we have the option to either activate or unhide it   or deactivate or hide it so we want to activate  this and then i'm just going to give it a name   like pop up unhide just so we know what this  little action does in our chain of events next   we want to wait for the duration of the animation  this animation is 4.1 seconds long so just to   be safe i'm going to delay for four and a half  seconds so i'm going to grab the little delay tool   from the stream deck drop down and under delay  i'm going to set that to 4 500 milliseconds or 4.5   seconds and finally we're going to go back down to  obs studio we're going to grab another source drag   that right here we're going to title this pop-up  hide the title doesn't matter it's just nice   as an organizational thing and all of these drop  downs are correct but instead of activate now we   want to deactivate it so now if we go back over to  obs and i bring up my stream deck you'll notice i   have a little button here if i press it it's going  to show the little pop-up it's gonna animate and   if we watch the little eyeball right here after  four and a half seconds it automatically hides   itself which is exactly what we want do it one  more time just for demonstrations sake but that's   pretty much all there is to using this in  obs it's pretty easy to do now hopping over   to premiere to import our image sequence as  a video all you have to do is go up to file   import and then you're going to want to find the  folder where all of your images are from your   image sequence so here you're going to want to  select the very first image in your image sequence   make sure image sequence is checked on the little  dialog here it can be a little bit difficult to   miss then you're going to want to hit open that'll  import your entire image sequence and it'll treat   it basically as a video file now you're going  to notice that this comes in at 29.97 frames per   second now regardless of what frames per second  your document is whether you're working at 24   30 or 60 you want this image sequence to be set  to 60 frames per second that's because that's the   frame rate that i animated it at in blender so  if it's set to 30 frames per second it's gonna be   twice as long or way slower than it's supposed  to be so anyway to set this to 60 frames per   second all you have to do is right click it go  to modify then interpret footage you're going to   want to click on that this dialog will come up  there's a whole bunch of confusing options the   only one you need to pay attention to is under  frame rate you want to click assume this frame   rate and here you're going to set this to 60  not 69 whoops nice 60 frames per second hit okay   and now you'll notice that the frame rate for  our image sequence is set to 60 frames per second   so now if we drag this over onto our timeline in  premiere and hit space to play it notice it'll   play it'll look really cool then it'll pop away  let's say you want to reposition this like in   obs you can select your footage item go up to the  effects controls click on motion and then you can   just sort of drag it wherever you want i'm going  to put mine on the lower right hand corner again   and now i hit play it'll pop up looks really cool  and that looks pretty nice now one final note here   i did include just the straight audio file  for this on the discord as well with the   downloads if you want to use that in  your video editing software as well   to do that all you have to do is grab the  audio file bring it into premiere and then   you can just drag it out here into the footage  and it should match up absolutely perfectly with   the image sequence if you have the frame rate  set correctly so now if we play through this we get the nice sound effects too how cool is  that now i'm not a hundred percent sure on how   to use image sequences and davinci resolve because  i'm not super familiar with that software but it   should be pretty similar to premiere and this  should give you a good enough idea of how to do   that so that's pretty much all there is to making  and using this epic game supporter creator code   pop-up animation at this point you should have  a cool new supporter creator code animation to   use on your streams and videos if you want to come  hang out with me live my schedule's been a little   bit up in the air lately but you can catch me over  at youtube.com oraclefish just hit the subscribe   button to know when i'm live anyway until next  time my name is chris folia i'm your stream scholar you
