Found by Crazed Killers... | The Tragic Case of Telma Boinville

we just died again again this is our dying video yeah it's nice knowing you well sort of not really not really these are the disturbing words spoken by two evil individuals just days before a beloved teacher was found dead inside North Shore Airbnb with obvious facial features The Manhunt for these two was both Swift and severe and their actions would ultimately leave the community of Oahu in both shock and anger but who exactly were these two what did they have against Telma and what were their evil actions good morning good afternoon all good evening folks my name is Adrian and welcome or welcome back to Coffee House crime today we're looking at the case of Telma boyinville now to be honest with you I have no words when it comes to the senselessness of this case as it's both outrageous and heartbreaking so our recent cases have taken us through Canada Hong Kong Japan the UK and the US and I know Hawaii is still technically America but I'm gonna say this is international too before out and now with that said please grab yourself a coffee pull up a seat and get ready for the Deep dive this is the case of Telma boynville foreign [Music] folks or to those unfamiliar with the native language welcome to Hawaii now Hawaii is an incredibly fascinating place to be it's one of the most remote clusters of islands on the planet holds a very unique climate and thanks to its volcanic Heritage host some of the most jaw-dropping terrain the eight main Hawaiian Islands are comprised of 15 volcanoes which are all the youngest of the linear chain of roughly 130. five of these are considered to be active and two of them named Kilauea and monaloa are considered to be two of the most active volcanoes on the planet something that I find peculiar to this very day is that Hawaii is actually one of the many states of America this is despite it being 2 000 miles away from the mainland the only state outside of North America the only state that is an archipelago and the only state in the tropics which is quite an outlier of a place when you think about it based on archaeological evidence the first group of people started on the Hawaiian islands around 1 000 years ago likely from Polynesian settlers from the relatively nearby marcissus Islands Hawaiian mythology also suggests that a second wave of settlers arrived from Tahiti around 200 years later and how the hell any of these guys were able to navigate such a large ocean back then without any technology is completely Beyond me what once began as alone in the island and maybe one or two ships has now become a thriving population of around 1.5 million residents as you can likely guess one of Hawaii's main industries is tourism though several other Industries are crucial to its economy too including the production of Sandalwood pineapple military training and probably the best of the bunch in my opinion the production of coffee a few other interesting side notes before we begin today's story more than seven percent of the country's population are millionaires the United States military spends about 12 billion a year here and The Stairway to Heaven found on the island of Wahoo is one of the world's most dangerous illegal hiking trail if you're interested in a mysterious disappearance on The Stairway to Heaven then feel free to check out my video on dalan poor zoning in on our case today we're traveling to the north of Hawaii's main island Oahu and found just below its own Forest Reserve lies a small community named pupukeo now although the island itself is very busy and has over 1 million residents pupukea is on the more quiet side of life the name means white shell in Hawaiian and has a modest population of just over 5 000 people and it's here in the small community that we find the lives of Talma boynville and her family born on February the 4th 1966 and aged 51 years old at the time Telma was married to her husband Kevin Emery and the two had an eight-year-old daughter named makana she had moved from Brazil to Hawaii in the early 1990s and immediately fell in love with the Island's way of living full of nurture and care she worked as a part-time teacher at the local school Sunset Beach Elementary and the rest of her time was spent living a stress-free life and supporting her family from home Telma had found the ultimate work-life balance and one that I'm rather jealous about if I'm honest with you not only was she able to support the family and bring money into the household but she had plenty of time for her own Hobbies too maybe one day I'll feel a little less chained to my own desk Hawaii was also the perfect place for her passion for surfing she practiced this many days of the year with her family and friends and apparently was very good at it too but her interests extended past the great big blue she was also known to regularly go on runs really enjoyed yoga practiced martial arts and even dabbledon baking add this to an island lifestyle with plenty of Sun and warm weather and you can likely see why I and indeed most overworked Western folks feel quite envious of her way of life though geographically speaking I suppose you could argue that Hawaii is the most western of civilizations to be quite honest with you every time I look into Hawaii I often fantasize and wonder what it'd be like to live there I'm likely looking at it through Rose tinted glasses but the idea of waking up near a beach going surfing and then looking at the mountainous terrain honestly sounds quite idyllic to add to this I hear that the coffee in Hawaii is extremely good too and they even have their own special Bean named Kona the high elevation Rich volcanic soil cloud coverage and even warm temperature make Hawaii the perfect place for coffee to grow thanks to this Kona beans are known to be one of the most flavoursome rappica Blends in the wilds and his reputation is highly protected as a result anyway Kona coffee is both rare and uniquely delicious so does anyone know where I can get some in London Telma was described as someone who was very protective of her friends she was fun loved to joke around and was a genuine pleasure to be with she was also somewhat of a party animal but always preferred something other than beer one of the most notable things about Talma is her always happy and sunny smile and even in her younger pictures she maintained that infectious grin moving into the tragic events of this story but in order to help with the family's finances Telma took another part-time job as a cleaner the family had plans to take a holiday off the island so earning some extra cash was playing heavily on their minds the date was December the 7th 2017. it was a Thursday afternoon and Telma was cleaning an Airbnb located on keiki Road located near the small town of rock pile with a couple of Australian tourists arriving later this afternoon it was up to Telma to make sure the home away from home was clean welcoming and ready for their stay kissing her daughter on the forehead she told her to stay in the truck and watch a movie while she went inside to clean by the way in an area like rock pile this wasn't anything out of the ordinary and McConnell was very safe in the truck Telma wouldn't be long anyway just a quick Spruce around a few fresh bed sheets and towels and then should be back out of the house with all things Carmen ordinary she then stepped inside ready for her usual job we're moving forward by three hours to 3 P.M at long last it was finally time to check in for the Australian Travelers and with airbnb's remote password feature no one was required to let them into their home but approaching the front door something appeared to be off about this place and unfortunately that suspicion would be confirmed after walking through the front door and what they found was a devastatingly haunting scene Thelma boynville had been savagely beaten to death her heads face shoulders torso arms and hands were all covered with blunt force and sharp force trauma the murder weapons including a bloody baseball bat a hammer a knife and a mallet were all found nearby the name Axel had been written in blood above one of the main door frames and almost all of the rooms were in complete to disarray the tourists ran outside and called the police immediately upon arriving they found telma's daughter makana located upstairs she was tied up and bound but thankfully she was uninjured this was an extremely traumatizing moment in makana's life and unfortunately will have very gravitational consequences for many years to come although she was still bewildered and distraught the young girl was still able to tell officers what exactly happened to her and her mother in the hours before apparently while still watching a movie in the car a very scary man with green hair came tapping on the window he then opened the door and told her we just killed your mother McConnor also recalled seeing a woman with him she was then dragged inside tied up covered and put in one of the bedrooms and just like that both assailants fled the scene and helmer's truck as you can likely guess this tightly knit community of North Shore were devastated by the news and with a place being so neighborly the new spread like wildfire across town those close to telmer learned of a fate quite rapidly and this included her brother-in-law who just so happened to be locally famous surfer Gareth McNamara the man was so devastated that he made a roar desperate and emotional plea to the general public offering one hundred thousand dollars to anyone who could catch her killers who just tied up my niece and duct tape my niece and killed her mother I can't keep Oahu one hundred thousand dollars right now and you can tell me who just murdered my twin brother's girl and tied up my knees [Applause] along with the green hair description given by Thelma's daughter the authorities along with the entire community of North Shore were now on the lookout for talmers missing vehicle a silver Toyota Tacoma with license plate kilo whiskey November 344. now thankfully it didn't take long to find the vehicle and just seven hours after her murder talmers truck was spotted in a parking lot near town and believe it or not her assailants were found within it too a man and a woman both in their twenties were arrested at the scene the man was in fact Sporting Green clown-like hair he resisted his arrest and shouted just shoot me I deserve this to the officers the woman was relatively calmer in her arrest but still appeared to be nihilistically insane she too told the officers can you just pull your gun out and shoot me in the head my life is over today the suspects were eventually identified to be 23 year old Stephen Brown and 20 year old Haley dandran both criminals were a couple and had been dating for several months found on Hayley's possession was was a bank card that belonged to Talmer she was also wearing talma's earrings and makana's little backpack and to add these harrowing details both suspects appeared to have dried Bloods all over their hands a community is in mourning tonight after a well-known mom was brutally murdered inside a North Shore home late this afternoon family of the victim identified as Telma boynville held a vigil to remember her her body was found in a vacation rental home yesterday on keiki road a revolo joins us from Haleiwa with more Elisa Hey Joe yes we are here on the North Shore next to Breakers restaurant this is where that Candlelight vigil is set to get underway following the parade and a big turnout is expected as you know the North Shore Community is very close-knit and people I spoke with off camera tell me they're still reeling there was a gathering earlier of family and friends where they came to pay their respects the family asked for privacy so we left but we did see people hugging and offering condolences to the victim's husband I'm told her pastor also shared a few words and prayers in Portuguese now I did speak with a few people who knew the victim off camera and again they tell me she was someone who everyone loved she was always smiling and they said she'd love to bake for others so we will wait here once that parade finishes again this is where that Candlelight vigil is set to start following the Christmas parade we'll have more coverage in our later newscast tonight Joe send it back to you so with both suspects now arrested the spotlight was firmly on Stephen and Hayley but this just led to many more questions who exactly were they and what do we know about the two Stephen Brown who was 23 years old at the time of his arrest had been living on the island for a couple of years now he was born in Ohio but spent most of his life growing up in Florida his childhood seems to be filled with neglect sadly his father was never in the picture and his mother was often missing in action apparently often around the homes of various other men this left Stephen to fans for himself and his younger sister and this eventually led him to living in foster homes until he was eventually adopted by the Brown family at the young age of 11. there's not a great amount of information about him however it is confirmed that he attended Northeast High School in Saint Petersburg Florida classmates described him as very weird and those closest to him knew of his violent nature in fact allegations have come out since the events of December the 7th claiming that he physically assaulted his ex-girlfriend on numerous occasions unsurprisingly this wasn't his only run in with the law either Stephen was charged with the class C felony of theft in the second degree in December of 2016. he was bailed out in July 2017 but was then issued a bench warrant when he violated conditions of his probation Stephen eventually moved to Hawaii in the year 2015 and stayed there as a deadbeat loser ever since he listed his occupation as a vocalist and a guitarist on his Facebook page however no one can ever recall them playing in any of the local bars or venues either he never played publicly or memory only remembers Talent Stephen was also known to annoy his roommates he would subtly write his name on their possessions or in hidden places in their rooms and even bought a dog when the housing contract disallowed it in a moment of stupidity he even spray painted his dog because he thought it would look cool dick move Stephen real dick move as has also seen on his Facebook page Stephen had given himself the name Axel Hayes Hendrix and if you remember what was found at the crime scene this matched the name Axel which was found Written in Blood above the door one more thing found on Steven's Facebook page was this rather harrowing video he had recorded it with his girlfriend Haley at the time who also happened to be the second suspect in this case recorded just 11 days before talmer's death both discussed and laughed about the end and how much they hated their lives we just died again again this is our dying video yeah it was nice knowing you well sort of not really not really mostly [ __ ] yeah thank you Satan for all you've done the ass for the cactus it's been nice it's been real lovely I really appreciate it it's a real nice guy anyway this is us checking out it's been real fun goodbye Anarchy shifting our Focus over to Haley for a moment she was a 20 year old woman who was also living on the island shortly after moving to Oahu from Bend Oregon in July 2017 she met and fell in love with Stephen now despite her crazed facade that we've seen in this case so far several classmates from a school actually remember her as being unassuming and kind she was the daughter of an elementary school teacher and appeared to do fine at High Lakes Elementary School despite living in Bend for most of her life Haley left a very little impression on those around her interview requests with nearly 80 former classmates produced only a handful of foggy Recollections and everyone described her as quiet it is noted that she disappeared from school and was reported missing to the police on two different occasions with both of these incidents happening in the year 2012. at the time of talmer's death Haley was attending kapiolani Community College while working on the liberal arts degree she had been dating Steven for a few months by now and pictures from their Facebook pages often showed the two together with the community so tight and close Haley's and Steven's arrests did not happen quietly and in no time at all they were thrown to the ground and handcuffed as an angry mob formed around them by now some people had already found Steven's Facebook page so they knew exactly what kind of Thug they were dealing with but unfortunately it would only get worse from here as the two were taken into custody both of them showed a sickening display of Pride over Thomas Murder By laughing and smiling at the cameras honestly I struggled to wrap my head around this personally I can't even sneeze in public without feeling guilty so for these two to do something so evil yet remain so prideful and blase is absolutely beyond my comprehension the two were pulled into court the following day where Stephen was held on a one million dollar Bond and Haley on a half million dollar Bond despite their pleas for the police to end their lives and showing obvious signs of acceptance and their alleged crimes both Stephen and Hayley would plead not guilty to talmers murder now there is no point in keeping you guessing whether they were guilty in this crime or not it's kind of obvious in this story so before we move on to the legal proceedings of this case let's focus on what precisely happened that fateful afternoon the time was shortly afternoon on December the 7th 2017. Telma arrived at the Airbnb located on kiiki road to clean take out some laundry from the dryer and then Place flowers in the home leaving her daughter in the car to watch movies she walked through the front door to realize that she was not alone Stephen and Hayley had broken into the home just a few minutes prior and upon realizing that they were not the only ones there they threatened to hurt Talma they had no idea who she was and neither did she know either of them but nevertheless Stephen and Hayley beat her tortured her and then ultimately killed her after collecting her car keys earrings and bank cards they walked outside to realize that her daughter was waiting in the car Steven grabbed her told her that they had killed her mother dragged her into the house tied her up using duct tape and then left her after callously gloating about their actions they then returned to telma's truck and waited inside the vehicle a short while later they noticed two Australian tourists walking up to the Airbnb and it was in this moment that they realized it was finally time to speed away after several hours on the Run both Stephen and Hayley were apprehended in the parking lot of a nearby Walmart obviously they were then promptly arrested they were then charged with second-degree murder kidnapping robbery and other charges in connection with Thelma's death at first it wasn't clear if they would try Stephen and Hayley separately or together in the same trial in the end they decided to do it separately there was quite a lot of frustration during this period of time because it would take over five years before either of them stood trial this was due to covert of course but also many delays in the court system further outrage erupted when Haley was almost let out of prison during the covert pandemic as to quote her lawyer she was innocent until proven guilty and did not deserve to get covered behind bars now thankfully that would never happen and almost five years after Thelma's death and with more than 20 Court delays Steven's trial would finally begin taking Pole Position the trial of even clown I mean Stephen Brown began in January 2023 meaning that Haley dandruff fight I mean Hayley danderand would have a trial afterwards Stephen took the stand in his own defense answering questions in a largely a monotonous and disinterested tone he testified under oath that he did not kill Telma and suggested it was his then-girlfriend who carried out the murder when he left her alone he claimed that he was only guilty of burglary and kidnapping and said that Haley was the one responsible for telma's death apparently his only intention was to steal the guitar and champagne found inside the home Stephen also claimed that Haley grabbed a machete when Telma walked into the property instructed her to lie down and then killed her while Stephen was outside patrolling the property however this would be contradictory to the testimony of telma's daughter who at the tender age of 13 took to the stand to share her story makana recalled the moment that Stephen approached the vehicle told her that he killed her mother and then grabbed her and dragged her inside Haley came back and we're drinking and next thing you know we hear somebody coming from the front and um you know I wanted to run but me and him whoever the person was it which later was Telma but you know she was already approaching us and so we were hit behind the stairs and Haley still had the machete in her hand from when she was you know scouting the house looking for stuff she wanted when when someone came you know Haley you know walked out and tell them I was saying something and I walk out with Haley and you know she just kind of stops she's like she doesn't know what's going on kind of asks like who we were and you know she's like um you know you guys should just go and I'm here next thing you know he's like you know you know told her to lay down and I'm blocking her off from one side she's she's like okay okay and she goes I'll go lay down She lays down was she Cooperative at that point yeah she was listen yeah she was being cooperative she just said you know I um I have a daughter outside and um it was all kind of fast like you know as soon as she came around the corner we stepped out she you know she was saying something to us and you know Haley told her to lay down told me to grab the Rope or run over I go grab the rope and then I bring it back and she like to start tying up so I start tying up her legs then I inhaling the road she starts to tie up her hands and that's and he was like go make sure no one else is here and I was like okay okay so I go and I go towards the garage how long were you watching in the area in the garage for like 10 10 minutes maybe but so I'm watching and I kind of creep around the garage to try to see because I see that someone's in the truck and eventually see that it was makana and um so I'm just watching for a while and I didn't see anyone else So eventually I go back to the garage door I open it I go back inside to go tell Haley what happened okay so when when you went back inside um what happened um that's when I um that's when I walked back to Haley and that's when tell them I had you know she had been hurt already so there's blood around her and um I kind of I kind of walk over there and I just start snapping at Haley I was like what did you do you know I thought you know first off I thought we were just gonna run in the first place and then when I came back I thought you know that was going to be the plan we were just gonna run and get away but when I came back you know there was blood on her I mean her blood on her was blood on Tillman there's blood on the ground and I come over is there blood on on Haley too yeah there was during his trial the autopsy indicated wounds on her hands and arms which were probably obtained himself to fans it's further suggested that this would have had to happen before she was tied up therefore discrediting Steven's story other sickening details were highlighted by the prosecution and their long list of testimonies and many of those details did not favor Stephen it was noted that shortly after Stephen was arrested officers tried to cover his hands with paper and tape in an effort to preserve evidence Stephen replied with I know what you're trying to do if you're not gonna help me I'm gonna help myself he then nauseatingly proceeded to lick talma's blood off of his hands disgusting and outrageous details aside all of the information brought before the court seemed to be enough to sway the jury in One Direction or the other and after just a few hours of deliberating they came to the following decision and one CPC is 17-1731 state Hawaii versus Stephen Brown we the jury of this case final defended Stephen Brown in count one guilty is charged of Murder in the second degree in count two guilty as charged of kidnapping in count three guilty as charged of kidnapping account for guilty as charged of burglary in the first degree with Steven's trial now complete he has yet to be sentenced however it is widely expected that he will receive life in prison without the possibility of parole carefully watching from the sidelines I am absolutely certain that Haley is now bricking it as she waits for her own child to begin and as expected with Stephen she will probably be found guilty you know I find it quite fascinating to watch the Dynamics between couple Killers as usually they will eventually turn against one another and in Steven's case he did eventually blame Haley for talman's death this does seem to be the angle that Haley is taking as well because now she blames Stephen and the toxic relationship in her involvement so I guess we'll just have to see what happens later this year as Haley's trial is expected to begin in July 2023 before this video is conclusion there are a few strange and saddening side notes to this story in April 2016 and about eight months before telma's death Stephen's own mother posted on a missing person's Hawaii Forum to say I am looking for for my 21 year old son Stephen Deshawn Hayes Brown he has been missing since August 2015 from Waikiki Beach he came there from Florida and was born in Ohio and was last seen with his father Jeremy Pugh Stephen he went by Axel on the street and on his Facebook page I am his mother please any information about him please notify the authorities immediately or reach me at redacted someone would eventually reply with look up Axel Hayes Hendricks in Hawaii the events which unfolded in that Airbnb are unimaginable to comprehend none of us will ever know or understand the level of Despair and Terror that Telma must have felt in her final moments to know that she was being murdered by two callous monsters while her daughter was just outside it honestly makes my stomach churn Telma was an extremely caring person she loved her family and her friends but nothing more than her daughter and although makana would thankfully remain safe Talma would never know that herself on Feb every second 2018 telma's family and friends paddled out into the ocean to say their goodbyes as they released her ashes into the water accompanied by dozens of those closest to her many said she's back where she belongs her husband Kevin has since told reporters that he's already made peace with his wife's murderers in his own words love your friends love your neighbors love your families and kill everybody with a low heart because life is all about Aloha Kevin and makana continue to live in Oahu with fond memories of their wife and mother makana is growing more mature by the year and is now 14 with her adult years closing in and in one of his posts Kevin shared I am the luckiest father in the world to have makana as my daughter she is so precious and so beautiful being a parent truly is the best gift beautiful like our mother
