[Music] barry's a very compassionate person he's a very loving person very [Music] protective [Music] and that shows in his writing as well his compassion and his sometimes can be a little extrovert but more than anything he totally believes in what he's doing totally believes in the song totally believes in the show totally believes in whatever he does if he can't do it right he doesn't want to do it [Music] when you look at the bee gees you don't look at yourself i guess you're not objective about how you you're perceived but he nailed it you know big hair teeth medallions god hair's not so big now folks now what do you guys like as kids have you been i mean were you always actually as children we were we were criminals really yeah i actually got two years probation when i was about 11 years old for what for uh stealing a car stealing a car at 11 how did you reach the pedal i wish [Music] it was the bg's first performance on top of the pops the girls i was with they said oh my god that guy is so handsome mom was miss edinburgh and she was a good-looking girl their eyes met you know he's looking at you and i said no he's not and they said oh he's coming over i think for dad yeah he'll always say it was love at first sight he asked me if i'd like to go for a cup of tea for the end of the day i think they were making out in dr who's phone booth [Music] you put up with this man for 45 years i have indeed how do you manage to have one of the longest marriages in show business we don't really know actually i guess we keep laughing god barry was damn attractive barry and linda became an item but the course of true love didn't always run smoothly he had women left right center if he wanted he'd messed around a couple of times and i was not very happy about that i still don't know why i was the one but i'm glad i am [Music] even barry's mum was aware of his reputation and he told his mom and dad oh this is linda we're we're going to get married and i'm in the kitchen with and she said don't be silly love she said he says that to all the girls he is the you know epitome of the doting husband still they love each other today just just like they did then yeah they're they're very romantic i don't think anybody else would put up with them actually or me shortly after meeting linda barry and robert stigwood traveled to california on business but business wasn't on barry's mind right after checking into the beverly hills hotel barry told stigwood that he was going home and he said what yeah you can't go back to england we've just arrived there's things you have to do this is a whole schedule i said but you don't understand or maybe you do understand robert that that this is the girl this is the one you know i've got to go back i got to find her the best thing ever happened to me yeah it's been a wonderful life was it love at first sight i think it was i i think in my own head i thought that's the woman i'm going to spend my life with what was it about linda really she's a very very special person and it's not it's not how one looks you know and she's just so full of love and full of fun and she has a great sense of humor and we tend to laugh a lot more at everything around us than we could find anything to be unhappy about i can vouch for the fact that love at first sight happens and most certainly happened to [Music] me what would you say to linda right now i love you [Music] the day we met today i met linda the day i met linda is the greatest spiritual moment of my life the downs to our career have given us the strength and anger and you know what i mean to to to overcome what people say that aren't good to to to confound the critics you know so my mission is to compound the critic [Music] being a twin uh i don't think it's so much having much to do with the beegees i think we would have been the bee gees if we hadn't even if we hadn't been twins i never thought of bmrs as separate from barry i always saw the three of us as three equal brothers i don't think i'm sure you want obgs um but i hope and pray that the music lasts you know because to me that's immortality that's immortality [Music] how would you like to be remembered it's one of the bee gees that's that's it for me you know i've always i'm still playing second fiddle and and and i enjoy playing a second pedal what do you mean by that um that i can never be the brand name the bg's were i can never really um i can never really make that all happen again you know [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you
