[Music] hey guys welcome back to flip my bike after the succession of our first episode flipping that lovely career of engines i'm quite excited to dive into another episode of flip my bike of course as you remember with the community where i'm teaching you how easy you can find a bike fix it if required and sell it to make some spare cash for yourself today i'm taking you on another journey going to find another hearty mountain bike so let's go and let's see what is awaiting us in this episode as you're probably aware sometimes can be difficult and challenging finding the right bike for the right price and of course if you have persistence that will always pays off with finding the perfect bike so with all that being said i have found the perfect bike for us i've already managed to talk to lorna who is the owner of the bike she's happy for us to go and have a look it is a carrera vengeance 2012 nothing too special budget mountain bike as you already know however the price makes it very very attractive to us so i'm expecting a great deal and an easy flip today so let's go and see if that is the bike for us so here we are again on the road uh we're going to pick up that lovely color of engines for 35 pounds yes guys that's right 35 pound um it's not very often you can get those very very cheap color of engines but hey whoever finds them always profits on them so i'm hoping is nothing too wrong with that particular bike and it's going to be an easy flip for us today so let's hope for that and see what is awaiting us when we get [Music] we've just arrived and we're here to meet with lorna lorna is selling her old bike and she doesn't really need it anymore so let's go let's see if she wants to be recorded and if she doesn't then i'm gonna meet you back in the car right guys we've loaded the bike and we are off to the garage we've only paid 20 pounds for the carrera which is amazing so we're going back to the garage and i'm going to show you what we've got for the 20 pound so here it is a career vengeance manufactured in 2012 and gray white and red [Music] we've got the bike at the garage and now it's the most difficult part and it's fixing it unfortunately on that particular engines uh there's quite a lot of things needs uh to be sorted such as a rusty chain rusty suspension adjusting of the gears and that's all for what they've been able to gauge but let's pull it on the stand and let's see actually what is a weightiness so here it is the bikes in the stand are ready to be repaired we went out we bought the carrier of engines for only 20 pounds that's right we paid only 20 pound so whatever happens from here it's actually worthwhile getting the bike even though if it goes for parts it's still worth the 20 pounds we've paid for it but let's hope we're not gonna go that way so what is needs to be repaired in that particular carrier of engines so the gears needs to be adjusted and also the cables need to be replaced judging by the chain how rusty it is i suppose the cables are very rusty too so we'll crack only changing the cables adjusting the gears making sure the chain it's nice and shiny and also nice and oily so all that for now as far as i'm aware we'll also remove uh the lights will remove the bottle holder and also all those straws from the bike so let's crack on and do our first job which of course is going to be removing the chain so as i mentioned first we're going to remove our rusty chain for that purpose you need a chain removal uh if you don't have one you can get one of your nearest bike shop it doesn't cost really a fortune it's about 9.99 or something like that so once you get to chain removal you're just gonna choose a link and remove the chain so for that purpose what we will need is a quick link so make sure before you remove your chain you have a handy quick link so you can actually put a quick link once you have removed the pin from the chain it's gonna come in two pieces and then we're gonna go and soak it to remove the rest from the chain so as you can see now it comes into two pieces there you go so now we'll go on and soak our chain and make sure there is no rest left after our procedure so here it is our chain so there is no excessive wear and tear of it so that's absolutely fine we're looking only to get the rest off so we can then put it back on the bike so i have prepared a bottle and a holder for the bottle so what we're gonna do is we're gonna stick the chain in that bottle and also the secret ingredient is a coca-cola so as you're probably already aware a lot of people using coca-cola for a rest so let's just pour the coke into the bottle that's all done for now let's leave it to rest for an hour or two hours and then see what's the result since we removed the chain we can now jump on and remove the straws off the wheels [Music] all done now we can move to the next thing and that will be changing the gear cables we're on to the next thing to fix uh we're gonna remove the cables and replace the cable so then we can actually adjust the gears so all you need is an allen key number five and you're just gonna untight the cable so once you untie the cable from here as you can see just coming out then we'll jump onto the front and we'll untie it from there so you can pull out the cable but simply just pull it all the way through so once you get to this stage you want to pull out the whole cable so once you get to that stage you want to remove it from here and as you can see it's quite rusty so then you pull it out from that side and now it's all coming out and it should be all good to go so here it is we've got the new cable and the old tubing so we're gonna go ahead and put it back into place so you can do that by using the same hole and then just go through the hole all the way to the back so make sure you pull the cable all the way and then you're just gonna stack the old tube on let's see it's gonna work yeah go all the way in and now we're just gonna go through the same places we've taken the cable off right so we pulled through the cable and now all we have to do it's tied it we're gonna be using the same allen key number five um the last hole to go through is on the derailleur so make sure that goes through and then just pull it tight and using allen key tie the bolts make sure you don't bend too much the derailleur because the hanger may break and then you have to replace it so that's all done we unfortunately cannot adjust the gears yet as we need the chain for that purpose but let's jump on to the next cable and see how we can change it we're now gonna go and change the other one which is the same easy procedure as the other one so we'll use the same allen key number five and we're just gonna untight the front one so very easy we just untied the bolt the cable comes loose and then we're just gonna pull it out and it just comes out as a whole unit so after that again the same thing make sure you're in the first gear and then we're just gonna pull it out through the handle so that's how the front cable comes off once you're taking it off all we have to do now is just install the new one so far we have changed the cables for the shifters we also have removed the scrolls from the wheels and now we'll remove the rest of the accessories so we're going to crack on and remove the holder for the light or remove the bottle holder and also the front light so for all that purpose you'll need an allen key and a screwdriver we'll begin with removing the lights and the holder at the back so you've got your screwdriver and then you're just gonna go and take off the holder for what it used to be a light before but it just hold the left so taking this one off it's quite simple procedure and then we'll jump on to the front one there you go so we have removed the second light and now we'll go on to remove the bottle holder so with the bottle holder we're all done with removing the accessories so we all done with removing the accessories of our carrera engines now all we have to do is pump up the tires after that we'll put back the chain we'll oil it and we'll adjust the gears and let's hope there is no other surprises with the bike so here it is our lovely chain um it's been about an hour or so i have since we put it on so i believe now it's all good to be taken off and make sure it's nice and dry before you then proceed and put it onto the bike so with all that being done i'm excited now to put the chain back on to the bike and adjust the gears so let's see how is that actually been working yeah to me it looks all right it's not like new but at least the rest has gone from the chain as we put back the chain into place all we have to do now is just connect it with a quick link so you've got the quick link goes on one end and the other one goes on the other end of the chain and now we're just gonna connect it all together so that's all done chain is connected and now all we have to do is set up the gears so after successfully putting back the chain into place all we have to do now is regulate the gears as you're probably already aware that's a very easy procedure so let's crack on and adjust the gears so for the gear adjustment you you need a screwdriver and the knowledge of doing it so first you want to go to the last gear and and see the chain goes there so as you can see we now have an issue our chain it doesn't go to the last gear that will need only one thing we'll have to unscrew the high bolt so one two and that should solve our issue and there it is so now goes to all eight gears so let's go to the first one and see okay so it definitely now goes on all of the gear so now we're gonna go and jump on the front one and see how it's performing there right to me everything seems all right with the gears now so let's cut off the rest of the cables and put the caps on so that will actually be done with the gears for today whoa whoa whoa what an amazing bike it has become our lovely career vengeance so after all that work we've done to it now it's time for the pictures so let's go let's take it to our favorite spot and let's see who is going to be interested in our lovely career vengeance we almost there almost hang on we now picture our lovely bike and what we've done so far we've managed to outsource the bike for only 20 pounds yes that's right we paid only 20 pounds we spent five more for petrol and five more for the cables so in total we've paid 30 pounds for the bike and look at it to me it looks like a 140 pound bike so let's go let's post it and let's see who's going to be interested in what our lovely career of engines so it's been a couple of days since we posted our bike of course as you can see on your screen there's been a quite a lot of interest and people texting about the bike someone has let us down yesterday and of course that didn't really affect us as today we have found another buyer so let's see if that actually is the bike for him and if it is i'm sure to let him have it so i'm here with ernesto who is looking at our career of engines let's go and see what he thinks about it so what do you think quite good is it for you yeah yeah okay yeah definitely good size as well yeah yeah yeah you're gonna be the one i know that's how it looks like and so we're all done we've managed to find a new owner for our carrera vengeance so now we're gonna go and find a new one so please don't forget to like subscribe and share so more people like you can enjoy it goodbye [Music]
