Did PS1 controllers have analog sticks? Because mine don't lmao. Plus my PS1 has a lot of ports on the back iirc

greetings welcome to an LGR blurb about sony playstation 1 I am NOT an expert on this let me just go ahead and say that right off the bat but I'm gonna try to fix the whole laser assembly today this is the SC pH 1001 was like the RCA and other cool stuff the back um one of my goodwill finds from years ago and dug it out of storage the other week wasn't messing around with it mostly it works but it's just very not great it's got some issues loading a lot of games you know it'll just take forever way longer than it even should with this normally and some of the games that it does load it just isn't properly getting them to do what they're supposed to do like for instance driver one of my favorites he gets to the main menu there and then he got the music skipping all over the place like this so that's not good and it also just doesn't get to the races themselves you try to load and just sticks in like an endless loop so yeah it's also just making a whole lot of noise on certain things as well and some games it just doesn't load at all it looks like it is going to but then nothing happens it doesn't actually reach the into the gameplay Mortal Kombat trilogy is one of those just check this out yeah that is as far as it goes and it's also just making this horrible noise listen to this yeah it makes that noise in pretty much every game that I'm loading and some don't even get as far as Mortal Kombat you just get like weird glitchyness like the original crash bandicoot I don't have any video footage of this I forgot to get some but yeah it'll load but then this all the graphics are glitched and it doesn't actually get into any level anyway all that to say that this laser assembly is screwed I don't actually know what it's called like I said not an expert on this I don't know I don't really care to even look at that but I know that this these things tend to crap themselves so I got another one it's weeks ago man uh actually I kind of forgot I ordered it and ended up taking a long time to get here with the whole everything in the world being delayed right now cuz I think it actually came from China and in fact I know I did but anyway it finally arrived weeks ago it's been sitting there and I forgot about it and I was going through my crap today I was taking the stuff back over to storage I'm like oh yeah I forgot I meant to fix this up because I've got a lot of PS ones there's nothing particularly special about this one I just I mean I like the model itself the 1001 I don't use the composite I use like a scart RGB whatever a conversion a lot of different things um so but yeah no eyes like these and I've got a couple of them but this one doesn't really work right now I just want it to work right dang it so here is this we're gonna put it in there and hopefully it's easy looks easy enough cool and yes I did clean it and loop it I tried all sorts of other things just messing around in there cuz it was gunked-up when I first got it for Goodwill but didn't they didn't make it any better the fact it made some games worse it crash was loading at one point and after I cleaned it it stopped loading so yeah we're just gonna replace junk actually you know what that makes me feel better it's not like it's in great condition or anything it's not I just don't want it to be right on the table it was appreciate how Sony always puts the little arrows to the screws they have to come out when you're taking things apart I'm not gonna screw these back in with the drill uh thinking about it the plastic is probably getting a little brittle so let's not do that okay well that's exceptionally simple I like how this is labeled I guess that's top there's that lop I don't know what though yeah anyway the only time I've ever taken one of these apart before was a long time ago it wasn't one of these models it was one of the later ones but I installed like a little permanent spring in there so you could do the disk swapping trick yeah I guess we'll just remove this guy why is it a different color alrighty so this yeah that just straight up lifts off there it's basically sitting on these little rubber bushings or whatever and then this just clips out of there yeah simple enough you need this little little cable I suppose a little ribbon bit so yeah it's in there it's just like unnervingly bunching up I don't like that man well cool yeah I was afraid of that it's not gonna bother most people but the gray is different uh you know it's the little things I mean this is a $2.00 PlayStation but I still want it to look nice screws back in here real quick you know we won't give it a shot okay well see how it goes [Applause] yes I use the retro tank component RGB thingy for this with this retro gaming cables ps1 to start [Applause] [Music] okay so k3 that well free album that didn't work about something did work but he's a three of them driver Mortal Kombat trilogy crash gonna try them in that order [Music] well that is a lot louder was the Hat those are bad noises it's like it's uh I don't know man it's not great though see what it's doing here I'm just gonna hold the little thingy down yeah it sounds terrible I'm just gonna say this didn't work and that the whatever this thing is that put in there's garbage I mean it was it's not even the right color I assume it's the right one for this model the seller said it was man you know that's just how it is okay I took it out of there and Lou this this this whole thing as it moved forward to just pulled it straight out of here and like that's not good and this whole assembly is just like a plasticy gross thing on top but this is just so much better made this feels like garbage but maybe I can still salvage it it's just obviously very cheaply put together and I think that the cable was inside the housing incorrectly when I got it maybe or maybe I did it out if anything maybe I can replace this piece that I didn't want anyway okay so yeah oh look at this this is just the little gear here supposed to go right there it just snapped straight off and this little piece is not on there properly that it just fell apart man that just fell into little broken pieces what a crap aleem a little gear I mean I guess in theory I could just replace that one year but god I don't want to it looks like that's what happened when it was in there this little bit folded up onto itself popped out like that I've got the gear out and how do I just want to replace this one I'm just going to see if maybe I can replace the gear only but see how that goes okay I think I think that's what I need okay this is not the lubos looking for but it'll work you know just a little in there to make it slide around a little easier yeah but the black top bit on here okay that's still wiggling around concerning Lee but long as it stays on there this part is at least a little more salad with the original bit in place yeah that that right there man when that slip down on the other one it just went haywire I mean this is still technically the same mechanism so we'll see how it goes I don't even know at this point oh no I forgot the little bit okay now we're radio I think well that honestly looks better yeah not just because of the black instead of gray but it actually just fits better man what a cheap component let's try it out all right plug it back in turn it back on see what happens Samson sounds better because it's not grinding the pieces Hey ah awesome well that is loading quicker than I did with this is the part that obviously was skipping it crazy and it seems to be working my goods I actually fix this [Music] dude yes I think a fixed it man all man I fixed the fixing piece I mean I got a working by combining it too but you should have to do that I should just work on its own yeah dude it's working game [Music] [Music] okay so driver totally works that is so cool man yeah this will be a test this didn't even load to the menus Mortal Kombat trilogy so hopefully this works and I'm running out of battery seriously well this is further nev ever gotten so alright new battery dude yeah this was not doing anything before this yeah I knew this disc wasn't like totally bad it was working on my other ps1 and ps2 and three and whatever but yeah just not this one man what are the controls there it is gonna get my my finger stance in the already yeah the game works in now pretty much the ultimate testing of crash bandicoot what's not loading at all and it's not even like in the worst I mean it's not great either but it's not in the worst shape it should have worked and it did work in my other PS ones just not this one [Music] satisfaction yes good start oh yeah dude okay so this is already working much better we'll see if when you load a level because that is where it just messed up oh dude heck yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] see if I can do it without dying I skipped one well whatever man I am just psyched this works thank goodness I was getting worried there for a second man wait forever for it to show up from dag on wherever it came from man it just didn't work what a depressing sound that was will just drowned in itself to death in there well anyway that's the end of this video thanks for watching I'm gonna play some more Crash Bandicoot oh good good
