First Time Watching The Truman Show Movie Reaction

hey everybody it's James how you doing today welcome back to the channel today we have a patreon pick and that is the movie The Truman Show uh this one has been requested multiple times I think it's even been on several patreon polls and it just hasn't you know other movies have kind of just won out by a little bit here and a little bit there but uh it's one now um I can't remember what it won for um can't remember but it's one now so all of you out there that has been requesting it on YouTube thank you for that it really does come to mind when I start seeing it on the different polls and things like that so uh if you don't know who I am or what this channel is all about my name is James hello how are you and I am an ex-farmer and massive Bookworm I have been reading books and majority of books not movies or TV for my entire life I just haven't been paying attention to cinema or actors or anything like that for my entire life I cared about books and authors and what's coming out next and what little thing happened in this book that's related to that book and stuff like that uh but now my oldest children have convinced me to dive into pop culture and to start watching all the awesome us movies uh if you have questions let me know comment I I comment on pretty much I reply to comments lots lots and lots other than that yeah let's uh get into it I don't know anything about this movie that's the way this you know this channel is designed I haven't looked at posters or backgrounds or previews nothing they just go in with fresh eyes and see what I see Let's uh watch The Truman Show become bored with oh I know him right off the bat tired of pyrotechnics and special effects there's nothing fake about Truman no Scripts no cue card it's a life oh Jim Carrey I'm not gonna make it no way Mister you're going to the top of this mountain broken legs and all we find many viewers leave him on all night for Comfort not for me there is no there is no difference my life is The Truman Show it's a noble line what is happening promising one thing though if I die before I reach the summit you'll use me as an alternative source of food nothing here is fake nothing you see on this show is fake merely controlled The Truman Show the entire show is about a guy named Truman man gonna be late day 10 909 good morning morning in case I don't see you afternoon good evening good evening and good night it's film equipment serious nine aircraft in trouble began [ __ ] flying somewhere nope no good so wait what I'm so confused one of these the wife that'd be all for you Truman that's the whole kitten caboodle oh my gosh was that ad placement oh yeah thank you okay that's two for one that's a good deal I understand what's going on kind of but I just don't know who's involved if uh he's in a coma he's probably uninsurable oh he's an insurance salesman you have a Sylvia Garland okay thank you oh what are we uh doing with the eyeballs got a prospect in Wells park I need you to close that's a half hour across the bay a little sea air hey thanks he doesn't seem very happy about doing this Harry's still here huh yeah there's all these cameras following him around does he have a fear of uh the boat or water or Open Water Maybe because you could see land on the other side yeah okay so are they playing on him his fears who's all involved in this like they talked about how it's set up for him but how much of this it's a whole town do you need any help sir you go ahead I'll I'll be fine does not like either boats or Open Water one of the two look what I got free at the checkout is that more ad placement you know I'm thinking about getting out Marlon yeah oh my gosh they've got a little T set up what the hell is wrong with your job you have a great job Truman I killed for a desk job where are they hitting it too you should try stocking vending machines for a living this is definitely a different role I'm seeing Jim carrion I saw him in liar liar and I summon Dumb and Dumber so when are you gonna go do it don't worry about that sure you are oh it's a bridge that doesn't go anywhere yeah the whole entire city on the coast I don't like the look of that weather son listen okay oh this is why he's afraid of water this would yeah you would definitely be afraid of water boats and water probably is this going to be a drama roll for Jim oh oh whoops he's following him uh it was just following him around they've got some screw-ups to deal with you're so I I've ate them around the world for a year on that you're talking like a teenager I thought we were gonna try for a baby see some of the world explore let's get you out of these wet clothes you never see anything anyway turn the camera and play music and uh so the actress is having sex with this guy who's not in on it paper airplane no I might as well pick one of these up while I'm at it every day I'm still trying to figure out how big this thing is who's this Dad hey what are you doing oh hey oh geez was that his father that was weird it doesn't sound insane at all I see him ten times a week it was Dad I swear dressed like a homeless man they never found Dad's Body how much of this city is is for him down here fixing the more how did you get the mower into the basement you throw out that mower get one of those new elk rotaries ad placement this is such a weird film so far [Music] this is back when they're in college [Music] hello okay excuse me oh that's his wife I'm so sorry to follow you like that I'm Meryl 10 000 days this goes back to when he was a little kid so who's all involved his mother's probably involved his wife's involved his best friends involved whoever this other girl I don't know if she's involved but she was there and he just can't he liked her better oh there she is oh she's being ushered out see you later loser ow they've been following him around with cameras and everything this whole time and he doesn't know is this the girl again what's her little pin say Lauren right what's on there I'm trying yeah you know what oh the girl that was with me no we're not we're just we're friends I like you how's it going to end wondering that myself now if we don't go oh they snuck away okay so she knows that the cameras are there how many cameras are there a lot they're gonna be here any minute who's they oh who's this listen to me everybody knows everything you do everybody hey wait a minute who are you I'm her father everything I've told you is the truth it's fake it's all for you everything don't worry we're moving the feet she said it's a set how there's an entire ocean there's no way that thing was gonna make it up that Sand Dude whatever Truman Barr sound we've already got this in the greatest hit State we go the greatest hits tape how's it going to end so they're married that's his wife oh he's been trying to put her face together with those magazines yeah interesting how he uses the magazines too there she is is that her now it is but don't forget to buckle up out there and drive a good driver get the radio's broken stand by all extras [Music] everything just stopped I'm sorry about that folks okay Crackdown on the homeless so this entire town is for him that's that's nutty there's no way is he starting to wonder like it's taking him this long to be like something's goofy here so this is obviously pre-cell phones pre-internet where are we going just running in circles security is freaking out oh there's a backstage yeah there's hors d'oeuvres and stuff what's happened nothing oh oh um yeah I'd wonder about my life too at this point stocking vending machines she just took some out to put some back in on the radio on the way to work start to like follow me alone I think he's alive anything happen he's going nutty or think about that Marlin like your whole life has been building towards something no look at that Sunset Truman it's perfect that's the big guy I'm going away for a while good take a vacation here's us at Mount Rushmore do you remember Truman when Dad was still with us that's not what Mount Rushmore looks like happy day of Our Lives there's lots of pages left over for baby photos Grandma we learn that you don't have to leave home to discover what the world's all about her fingers are crossed I'm really late what's your Rush there was that that elevator disaster this elevator just plummeted down uh-huh covering things up for things anyway I have an amputation on one of the young women wish me luck I'll cross my fingers for you what are we doing trumpet are we starting to investigate yeah we're gonna follow his wife um may I help you my wife nurse Burbank can you tell her I had to go to Fiji oh I'll tell her oh one red bastard is this an actual Hospital oh geez everybody's trying to everybody's in on it like this entire town I would like to book a flight to Fiji do they have an airport sorry I don't have anything for at least a month last call for Chicago what are we doing thank weird like honey are you okay get in [ __ ] [ __ ] what are we looking at we will see a lady on a red bike followed by a man with flowers and a Volkswagen Beetle with the dented Fender are they just going around in circles lady flowers there it is there's the dented Beetle yes they go in circles they go around the block they come back just go around and run I think the heart doing a horrible job producing whatever this show is I think you should save for a few months and then go then where are we going I'm being spontaneous Truman I think I'm gonna throw up me too we're gonna go this way oh my gosh all the cars are in the way locked it every turn we could be stuck here for hours I don't know what got into me which where are we going now we're gonna go home Mardi Gras oh my gosh he's going nutty Barrel same road no cars you're not right in the head okay we're at the bridge to go off the island you know you can't drive over water oh he's making her drive has he never done that forest fire okay you want to do it again [Laughter] what now what now yeah exactly they have a nuclear power station look at the plant they had to shut her down whole air is being evacuated thank you for your help you're welcome oh how did he know his name was Truman [Music] they're gonna throw a net over him ah no [Music] next time so they just brought him back home obviously whatever this is is not going well he's obviously not in a good place mentally you let me fix you some of your cocoa drink what the hell are you talking about who you talking to I've tasted other Cocos this is the best tell me what's happening you're having a nervous breakdown that's what's happening you oh he's scaring me choice who's who is she telling to do something who are you talking nothing I didn't say anything talk to me oh his buddy with beers oh unprofessional she's got lost it so this actress has been like having sex with him this entire time as his wife like actual sex feels like the whole world revolves around me somehow uh it does apparently a lot of world for one man Truman I've been your best friend since we were seven years old the closest thing I ever had to a brother's room I am just I'm so like aghast buy this as a possibility gladly walk in front of traffic for you oh my gosh he's actually saying the words for him the point is I would gladly step in front of traffic for you Truman yeah he's directing it last thing that I would ever do is lie to you I found him for you Truman brought his dad back crane cam button cam 3. never stop believing made up music [Music] there's a guy doing the piano right there ears wasted this is so bizarre though the director guy is from Apollo 13. I saw him in something else oh oh I just need a a wrench the the abyss Abyss well done everyone congratulations this girl's living her real life watching Truman 1.7 billion were there for his birth the Star is Born the world's Stood Still for that stolen kiss recorded on an intricate network of hidden cameras closed in the largest Studio ever constructed wow visible from space it's The Truman Show it is a gigantic it's got an ocean and a sky and everything infiltrate the show this is not the first time that someone from the outside has attempted to reach trumanism it's television yes most recent region security lead Truman you're on TV as Truman grew up we were forced to manufacture ways to keep him on the island oh big dog oh and this is why he doesn't like dogs let's take some of those fewer phone calls that's true yeah everything on the show is for sale from the actor's wardrobe food products to the very homes they live in hey Ben you're a liar and a manipulator and what you've done to Truman is sick oh he knows who it is Sylvia free Truman what right do you have to take a baby and and turn his life into some kind of mockery I have given Truman the chance to lead um how about normal he's a prisoner look at him look at what you've done to him he could leave at any time yeah you know nuclear waste deterrence you could leave at any time so wrong and he'll prove you wrong this is a crazy concept Mike the big news is that Merrill will be leaving Truman in an upcoming episode oh he's gonna get a divorce what kind of life is he supposed to live if he does get outside this walled prison or whatever you want to call this set like how could he live like endorse products I guess he'd be a celebrity excuse me uh Truman this is Vivian Vivian this is Truman oh is this his future wife what's he doing in the basement he moved down there after Merrell packed up and left it's the best shot we've got isolate the audio he doesn't think it's him sleeping in there you sleep there under the chair there he must still be here oh here comes his friend he's always got a six-pack of beer come on pal come on buddy come out wherever you are closet behind you he dug an Escape Route oh god oh Jesus it went off air The Whole World's freaking out he's got everything available extra looking for him oh yeah that's not odd at all this isn't odd at all we need more light cue the Sun cue the Sun they have GPS trackers on him or something this is free GPS or what oh he's out in the water are we trying to get out that's our hero shot [Music] boy he really loves her so how far does the ocean go we're going to be accessing the weather oh no they're gonna create a storm yeah what happens if they kill him get a light vest on oh my gosh they're trying to kill him yeah they're trying to kill him I can't let him die in front of a live audience he was born in front of a live audience well that's a okay this is scary like for him without a life vest hahaha hold on Truman is that the best you can do Jerk It Up increase the wind capsize them tip him over he's gonna drown he doesn't even care do it he's trying to kill him yeah he is there it goes that's enough oh my gosh it straightened it's right in itself yeah huh here comes the fake Sun I'm putting the sales back up this is a crazy film instead of taking the road is that the there's like a wall there yeah yeah yeah oh I saw it sure is fake plaster this is how it ends I guess this concept that they would keep a person imprisoned basically I can see why there would be people very much against it up not very deep there there's stairs what do you say to this man coming up I can hear you yeah how weird is that it didn't show that gives hope and joy and inspiration to Millions then whom I you're the star there's no more truth out there I guess we'll see about that my marriage was fake my father's fake my mother my best friend I know you better than you know yourself you never had a camera in my head yeah I'd be like watch me you can't leave Truman let's say something your life to the whole world in case I don't see you oh gosh good afternoon good evening and good night yeah see ya and out he goes [Music] for him to leave you don't have a job anymore [Music] let's see what else is on okay well let's talk about it that was the Truman Show and what a just both fascinating and odd concept that you would adopt a child film its entire life control everything associated with that life deceive it its entire life yeah I don't think I like the idea of trying to play God over an entire person's life and an argument could be made that you know there's you know Society is God and it controls your life and you know the government and the banks and payments need to be made and things need to be bought and you know arguments can be made from a philosophical sociological standpoint but literally hiring an actress to gain his affections away from another woman marry that person consummate that marriage uh were Way Beyond borderline we're beyond that huh okay so Jim Carrey um and the other guy I don't know his name I'm so bad with people's names anyways the other main character the Creator whatever is the guy from Apollo 13 who wore the sweater vest and then he was also the whatever what he the Mander of the deep water thing in the abyss I got that one in my head Jim Carrey I've only seen him in a couple things liar liar and Dumb and Dumber on Ace Ventura three things and it was all slapstick crazy nutty moronic comedy that was absolutely hilarious this is a departure for Jim Carrey in my world that I have like wow he did quite well I mean he still had his little Antics right his little you know funny things you would do like making the little hmm so sorry make it a little astronaut I apologize I filmed these either really really early in the morning or very late at night um he did a great job I really enjoyed the best friend he was great I really enjoyed his performance the wife you know I don't know I mean she played her part well as being this deceiver and ah the the the the best friend I really enjoyed I really liked him huh just four something that had been in production for 30 years there was a lot of very simple mistakes so I think it was falling apart it's been 30 years things were aging people were getting comfortable you know a little too comfortable to you knew it had to end right everybody's had wearing the button how is it going to end I'm very torn on this movie huh I don't know I really don't there's parts of it I very much enjoyed there's parts that were Beyond manipulative which I have a problem with huh anyways tell me like comment below let me know your thoughts on this because this is a really
