hahaha all right so we're basically picking up right where we left off in the last video of this project we still have a couple things we need to do before we can take this thing on its first actual test ride we still have to hook up the throttle cable as well as choke cable and we have to finalize the rest of the wiring [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] i had to really shorten all these cables but the throttle is now hooked up that is now working as well as the carburetor choke is working as well so that's awesome now i think the next thing we should work on is the front brakes [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] brakes work [Music] [Applause] all right next thing we need to do is we need to start working on shortening all this wiring and somehow get it all neatly tucked into this tiny little corner in the frame right here we also need to shorten these these are way too long as far as the instrument cluster i would like to use this but it's mostly destroyed and we can't use most of this because we can't use a speedometer the speedometer was driven off of a cable that goes to the front wheel so obviously we don't have that front wheel anymore so we can't use the speedometer anymore it's not going to work as far as the tachometer it it's electronic tachometer there's no cable so it should still work unfortunately the casing is all destroyed the needle is broken what i may try and see if i can do later is i may try and swap this casing onto here take the needle from here put it on here see if we get the tachometer working so it would be nice to have a working tachometer on this thing as well as a neutral light i want to see if i can get the neutral light on here as well but as the rest of this stuff is pretty much useless one thing that's kind of weird i've never seen a motorcycle instrument cluster that doesn't have an oil pressure light there's no oil prep there's a fuel gauge on here but no oil light there's turn signals neutral light and high beam that's it i've never i don't know i've never seen that but yeah we also have to go through here and figure out like the wires we don't need i already already found the the wires for the turn signals clip those off we don't need turn signals on this on this thing but i do want to save the uh the headlight wires i may want to add headlights to this thing later and i also wired up a little key switch on here so we can have a key for this thing [Music] hmm [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] still works alright so i was able to shove all the wiring in here in this kind of little empty space right in here once the gas tank's on you're not going to really be able to see it that bad so so that does work now the next couple things we need to do is we need to install the gas tank put the seat back on then we can then we can hook up the pulse pump now before we put the gas tank on we can't forget to put this stuff on i bought this in like part two of this project this is heat barrier i'm trying i'm trying to make it to where the heat from the engine doesn't radiate into the gas tank and heat the fuel up i'm not really sure how well it's going to work but i want to try something at least [Music] all right so my plan for air filters for these carburetors is i found these at tractor supply these are just like lawnmower air filters and i'm planning on just placing them on top of the carburetors and putting the gas tank on top and hoping that the gas tank kind of holds these in place because there's no room to build an air box there's literally like a hat but like half inch to three quarter inch gap between the carburetors and the bottom of the gas tank so i'm kind of hoping that that makes it to where it'll the gas tank will hold these in place and kind of make it to where the only way for the carburetors to get air is through these air filters so we'll see if it works if it doesn't we'll try something else [Music] [Music] [Applause] so [Music] all right this thing is finally finally ready to get it off the table fire it up and test the clutch and test everything and possibly take it for a first test drive [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right let's see if this baby will start up joke is on let's test if the clutch works hahaha all right so i feel like i have to add some type of baffle in here to quiet this engine down just a little bit it's a little too loud to be riding this thing up my street so therefore i built this basically just a piece of pipe that's capped on this end it has 12 holes right here then i added this so therefore the muffler kind of holds this in place and it just kind of fits in just like that put the muffler on and muffler holds it in place just like that so let's see if this quiets this thing down just by a little bit all right so this is without the baffle choke on engine on all right so the baffles in let's see if this thing quieted down just a little bit a little bit so it's a vet body so first so us so first so first so all right here we go foreign ah ah bogged it down [Laughter] [Music] oh this thing is so squirrely holy crap all right the engine is not running perfect it's bogging down a lot but it's not bogging down constantly which is a little weird it's everything survived nothing fell off the engine didn't blow up i'm not br i didn't burst into flames so successful first test all right so next i want to do the burnout test i want to see how much we can smoke this back tire i'd love to do it in my driveway but it's too close to a particular neighbors let's just do it in here all right here goes nothing feeling so so wow [Music] [Music] uh oh this is this thing's wild and it's and it stinks in here all right so i could have done a way longer burnouts in here but i just as soon as it gets a little smoky in here i just can't breathe which is why you're supposed to do burnouts outside but due to a certain neighbor i just can't do anything that's that's loud outside anymore which is incredibly frustrating but uh this thing runs it runs pretty awesome there's a there was a couple times when when riding this thing that uh that was like bogging down it was uh sputtering didn't really wasn't really running that great but it wasn't in the higher rpms it was more like it felt like more in the mid-range and more when i was like really bogging the engine down and when i downshifted and then revved it then it would run fine so there's some tuning issues that we have to uh that we have to work out now this thing with these tiny little pizza cutters is very it's not very it's squirrely it's a little sketchy in the corners you know leaning this thing in the corners a little sketchy which we knew that we knew that's what was gonna happen which is why i bought the bigger tires and it is now finally time to put the big tires on here and get rid of these tiny little pizza cutters uh as far as the gearing gearing was great so all we have to do is just now calculate a different gearing for the bigger tires because we are gonna have to change the gearing on this thing but other than that everything else worked pretty awesome this thing is uh is a ton of fun and it's just as terrifying as i thought it was going to be so anyway next video of this project is we get to put the bigger tires on here we got to change the gearing we get i want to put a taillight and headlight on this thing just so i know you know when because i keep accidentally leaving the key in and leaving this thing on i also want to be i want to hook up the neutral light so therefore i can i know when it's in neutral so all that is going to have to be in the next video of this project but for now i'm going to end this video here thank you for watching i'll see ya in the next video
