FIRST EVER Talbots Fall 2022 Try-on Haul (Can a Petite Plus Size Woman Fit into Talbots Clothes?)

hi ladies today I'm sharing a Talbots haul with you I have never shopped from Talbots before because I don't live near one of their stores but I always look at their website and I think that their clothes look really nice and I feel that their clothing suits My Lifestyle which is like casual but I want to have like a put together casual Look So I placed my very first order online and I got all of my pieces and today I'm trying them all on for you and I really was very curious to know as a plus size petite woman what their clothing even fit me I was a little apprehensive when I placed the order first of all I live in Canada and I was shipping from the U.S my fellow Canadian viewers know that shipping anything into Canada from the US is very costly first of all because of the shipping but also the duties that we had to pay so I was doing this as sort of an experiment to see if it's even worthwhile so I have some information that pertains to my Canadians that I'm going to let them know now and if you want to skip ahead I will put time stamps below so if you're Canadian Talbots often has sales and I was lucky enough to snag a sale on a Sunday evening where they were offering free shipping to Canada normally the shipping to Canada is 25 U.S which would make it you know around thirty dollars Canadian on top of that I had no idea what the duties were going to cost and I did some research and I really couldn't find where there was a duty percentage anywhere online for clothing so I was really happy when I received my order because I didn't have to pay duty but what I did have to pay was the HST and living in Ontario that's 13 tax so I had I went to you know my closest Talbot store which is an hour and a half away I would have had to pay the tax anyways I saved the 25 on free shipping so I thought that this was a really good bargain for me so those flash shipping sales for free shipping often happen in maybe a three hour window and I've read that they usually happen on Sunday evenings so that's just a little money saving tidbit for you the one complaint that I have is that I placed everything all in one order and I thought that they would ship everything out at once they didn't they split it up into four orders which really irritated me because I had to go through a brokerage firm to ship it into Canada I was charged ten dollars plus tax every time so that added an additional fifty dollars onto my order which I feel was really needless because they could have just waited until they had all the pieces and did one shipment so that's my only complaint so Talbots offers a big big range in sizing everything from like a zero up to I think a three or a four x and the nice thing about Talbots is they have petite clothing ladies now all of the clothing that I ordered I ordered from the regular sizing and I'm gonna get into that when we go through each piece just because I wanted to make sure that they did fit because I didn't know how I would return the clothing and I have later found out it would have had to return it either by me shipping it back to the tablets in the US where it came from or I would have to drive to my local Talbots which is an hour and a half away and return it in person so I really didn't want the hassle of any returns I just wanted this to be like a test run to see if this is going to be a store that I can shop from in the future and I also wanted to mention to my Canadian viewers they are working on a Canadian website it's supposed to be coming soon I was told that a year ago but they reassured me they are working on it which will be great and it'll be similar to the Nordstrom model I'm hoping where we pay in Canadian funds and there won't be any um you know duties or hopefully we'll get some shipping deals because shipping is really expensive so the nice thing about Talbots is that no matter how tall you are what size you are they really have everyone covered they have regular sizes they have petite sizes and they have petite length pants for information purposes I ordered everything off of the regular because I did my measurements I followed the guidelines but I could kick myself now because there are a few items I wish I would have ordered in petite but it's a learning curve for me so we're going to get into each individual piece and then I'm going to tell you how it fits and what I would do differently next time so Talbots often has sales and I will link everything in the description box below and I'll put the size that I ordered beside it and you know if I'm going to tell you that I would have sized down then you'll know overall the quality of clothing I was impressed with it's very nice it's a higher quality than say old TV or what you would find on Amazon and I really don't think that the clothing is that expensive because like I said if you can get a 25 or 30 percent off you know it really makes the clothing pretty reasonable and you're getting better quality than what I feel the clothing I have bought say on Amazon so we're going to start with the pants and I ordered two pair this first pair is called their out about stretch jogger and I ordered it in the color blue I really like these joggers remember I ordered it in the regular size so regular length I'm five foot four with a 26 inch inseam they fit me perfectly now they are a little baggy but I think if I would have sized down they would have been too tight and I've recently lost a little bit of weight so I kind of think like my clothing sizing is going down and that's why I feel they fit a little baggier but they're super nice my daughter has a pair of the similar pants from Lulu lemon and she was looking at them and she said Mom did you get pants from Lululemon because she says the drawstring and everything is similar to Lululemon so they're really I would consider high quality very very flattering and this is something you could travel in I wear them everywhere I wear them you know every day you could dress them up dress them down they're really perfect and if you're like me in like comfy clothes then I I think you might like these joggers this other pair of pants are their everyday stretch leggings I bought them in indigo blue and I have to tell you it was love at first sight I have tried lots of leggings on before and whenever your plus size they can sometimes feel very restricting and like they're compressing everything these are so comfortable and they're very very dressy I can totally see myself wearing these all through fall and winter they'll look great with little booties in the winter time and they're really a nice quality material they're not see-through and the fit is really really nice and it's not like sometimes whenever you know you stretch the material it kind of gets a shiny look these don't do that at all and they are super super comfortable and very very versatile the next item I want to talk about is their performance interlock Mall connect jacket I believe this is from the tea by Talbots and that's a separate section of their website where they sell more I'll say athletes your type clothing as opposed to you know their regular dressier type clothes I do wish I would have sized down on this jacket um I went by the measurements and because of my chest size I went with a 3X and I feel it's just way too big the arms are a little too long I really wish that I would have ordered a smaller size but hey it was my first time it's lesson learned I'll still wear it it's a really nice jacket it's great you know if you just want to wear a t-shirt in the house and you get a little chilly you can put the jacket on or it's great for you know nice fall walk outside it has pockets a full zip in the front I bought it an indigo blue and it's a really great quality so now we're gonna get into some tops and I bought four tops and a sweater that I want to talk about the first top is the one that I'm wearing it's this nice pink one it's called their ribbed Pima v-neck top they also have scoop neck neck and crew neck Tops This one is in cabery pink it fits pretty good I really like the color and the quality is really really good it's a lot better than castle on castle on tops are a lot thinner material this is a nice I don't know how to describe it it's just like you can just tell it's really good quality it fits me over all fairly well and I find that it's a little uh smaller size compared to the other tops I'm going to talk about this one fits like on this smaller size of the scale if that makes sense it's available in so many different colors it's really lovely and this is just such an easy piece that you can mix and match you know you can wear it with a sweater wear it with jeans it's really really versatile okay I love animal print and when I saw this top I said I just have to have it and I bought it because I want it to go with the joggers and the performance coat that I just talked about but this top is so cute I love animal print I love blue it has a nice scoop neck which is a flattering neckline me because I have a round face again the quality is very very good and I believe this is also available in a different color and the nice thing about this top is that it has a ruching and if you have a big belly like me ruching is one of the tricks that we use to help take attention away from the belly and also just the print alone it's a nice smaller size print it's not like palm trees or anything it's really flattering and like I said it's a great top to go with the joggers it goes with the leggings it goes nice with jeans it's just a nice piece to have I really like this top first of all I love the pattern you know I've talked so many times about small patterns if you can find a nice top with a pattern it really helps to hide a big belly and this is what I mean by a small print it's very some people would say it's busy but I really think that it's flattering because it really distracts the eye away from my belly area and I also like it because it has ruching on the side which we just talked about and that's so flattering this fits me pretty good I think the sizing chart was bang on for this this t-shirt that I bought I know sometimes it's difficult to pull off white and I usually say I don't like tops with writing on but I made the exception with this one for a couple of reasons this top is their puff sleeve crew neck tee it's three quarter length in the arm it is white with silver writing I saw this top and I knew that I had to have it because I love Paris and I love white and silver together I think this is very flattering because the graphic design on it it's not like bold and kind of in your face it's just a flattering Barely There graphic print but yet when I pair it with the sweater that I'm going to show you next it really is a nice look and I just think it's so cute with the fragrance bottles it's just a really nice top but it also is an elevated top because in at the top of the shoulders you can see that there's little puff sleeves and that is another trick whenever you're short and have an apple sized body just a style tip that can you know draw the attention up towards your face away from your belly so this is a really flattering top and to me this is more of a dressier type top I mean you can wear it every day but just with the little puff sleeve the beautiful silver fragrance bottles on the top I just think that it elevates it I have one disappointment with my order and it is the sweater I wanted this sweater so bad and this is what really attracted me to placing my first order with Talbots I thought that it was beautiful I love the gray I love the Simplicity of it but it looks so so dressy it's not cheap it was a really expensive sweater even on sale and I'm still debating do I send it back or not I just feel it is way too big for me I ordered the regular size again because of the sizing chart but I could just kick myself because I feel that I should have sized down a size or gotten the petite because the arms are pretty long and if there's just something about it it doesn't feel like it's hanging properly to me like on the shoulders and the armpits like I have very broad shoulders and I think that it sits okay there but then underneath the armpit area there just seems to be a lot of extra material don't find it flattering I feel that it kind of makes me look boxy and kind of large which is so disappointing because the sweater is gorgeous it's gorgeous on the model but of course she's probably what a size two or a size four but you know it's a lesson learned the tags are still on it I may send it back that would mean for me either taking a road trip and returning it in person or just taking the hit and having to pay for the returns so to ship it back let me know what you think but I think I already know what most of you are going to say that it's not a good look and I should probably return it and look for something else I did buy some accessories one of which are these earrings they're super cute and they're two-toned hoop earrings I like hoop earrings are dangling earrings are great when you have a round face because they help to elongate the face I thought these were super cute I like the dual tone color of them but they are a little bit bigger than what I thought they would be I thought they'd be a lot smaller like you know probably half the size of these but I have to say I don't mind them I think that they're they're kind of cool they're cool for fall and they I don't know they're just kind of nice and I have worn them all day because I have very sensitive ears and my pierced usage not bother me at all I really like their jewelry there's a lot of jewelry on there that I like but it's so expensive so I really hope they uh hurry up and get that Canadian website going and I can grab some stuff on sale the last accessory I want to talk about is this beautiful Carefree Paisley oblong scarf I love scarves I love blue and this one had to come to me it is gorgeous I collect scarves this can take you through any season it is so lightweight I just it's beautiful like it goes very nicely with this quilted jacket that I'm showing you and tell which is a really nice quilted jacket that I want but I really don't need it but I will link it below in case you need one it's just gorgeous and I know they're having a sale on this weekend 25 off so you might want to go check it out but this scarf is so cute I can see myself wearing it any time of the year with any outfit and it's just it's really good quality so that is my Talbots try on haul I'm pretty impressed with the quality be pretty impressed with pretty much all of the fits still undecided about the the sweater the gray sweater is so so pretty but I think I'm probably gonna send it back let me know in the comments if you think I should send it back and maybe get a smaller size or look for something else another thing that I wish that was smaller is that that jacket but overall really like the pants and I can definitely see myself ordering pants from them so if I can get a good sale
