Fireworks by Grucci sets World Record for largest firework shell

the vision behind Virgin Island is to create a destination destination for hospitality as well as real estate development in the emirate of Rasul Hema my dad and the rest of our family built a world-record shell back in 1979 and achieved the world record with a 40 inch in diameter shell that shall weigh 700 pounds it was different than the shell that we're building because it was cylindrical in shape and the shell that we're making because of what we learned from my father's experiences and also the Japanese particularly make specialists and making these large calendar shells in fact they're the ones that currently hold the world record that we're attempting to break in order to solidify to officiate the record is to have at least two special with experts that have familiarity with explosives and pyrotechnics obviously you all have so what we've set up here the two things that we have to measure actually we're going to measure multiple things but the record is based on the weight is the based on the weight of the shell so the wet the current record is at 1024 pounds and we're going to weigh the shell and then we're going to ask you to we have the forms that you gave us the information on the witness information we'll ask you just to certify the form on what you witnessed as the as the week we're also going to measure the diameter of the shell it's only for reference that they'd like to include that into the book into the information so because it's a sphere we're going to measure the circumference and then do the math on what the diameters so we've already weighed measured the shell but I just would like to have them to witness the the diameter I mean the circumference and then we have to lift it and use the scale to get the way the circumference the largest portion of the shell and we have that they asked us to give the circumference in inches about in millimeters so the request from the Guinness is in inches so it's 14 feet 4 and 5/8 55 inches in diameter it is only the shell now the industry the industry measures the shell based on the mortar that it goes into so after we finish this we're going to go over to the mortar and measure the mortar as well and the mortar should be 60 inches inside so now what we're going to do is the scale is 0 now there's no no wait no weight on the scale so it's 0 you tear it out the scale we're going to lift the scale and it's also in pounds and then we'll something in pounds and they're also in kg so we'll do the mathematical conversion in paging just so you know we know we're way over we're all with double the current world record so now it's a matter of just coming up with the specific information we didn't want to take any chances so it's it's going and we want to hold the record here for for many years now you make it just a little bit somebody breaks it very easy it's right you'll hold it for a while so Larry if you would [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so see the chain from the back so so we could see watch your fingers guys okay you see we're clear and that's not on the base anymore so 2300 let it stabilize 2,000 397 pounds so 1089 two point five four five milligrams so everybody wanted this so we could put that onto the edge of the sheet okay we're gonna get the depth it's not necessary it's just to confirm that the dimensions [Music] 22 feet but it should be two and a quarter inches good right diameter that's good huh sit here six year [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] it's been a dream of mine to attempt to bring this record back into our family and if we we achieved the world record will help get us there with us that evening they'll present us the certificate right there on the spot and as one final big finale the entire island will erupt with fireworks with the chairman of Alma Jean on the podium receiving his world-record certificate [Music] [Music] baby [Music] great pleasure two times to Chia from the Guinness World Record knowing all the hard work and careful planning that has gone behind this regular talent to see the fire world shell bursting into colors in the sky is a truly exciting experience so I'm now happy to confirm that the new Guinness Oracle title for the largest fire world shell is an impressive one thousand eighty nine point five hundred and forty five kilograms which is any measure a diameter of 60 inches congratulations you are now officially amazing [Music]
