Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes (part 18) | Golden Wildfire's End

actually holding steady [Music] all right it looks like we're good i honestly didn't expect it to be this stable so greetings everyone i am dr jay and it's been quite an interesting journey so far we've ended up picking the most controversial round to start with as far as fire emblem warriors three hopes is concerned and as a result of that it's been really interesting to watch unfold i'm kind of glad i started with this so that i could see more of why people were so upset with this route and to someone get upset a little bit as well because i'm having a little bit of trouble justifying one of claude's decisions but at the same time i have been quite eager to play it different only to see how things do change and to see if there is a reasonable answer for why they change either way it's also been a rather silly week overall as well because my ethernet outlet on my motherboard decided to go put so i had to shift things around a little bit in the back to make sure everything's fine but hopefully that's all taken care of and thus far just within the first minute of this stream yep i'm quite happy with the stability that i'm seeing from the bit rates so hopefully this time it'll actually stick maybe that's the reason for the problems i've been having lately with fluctuating bitrates all the same it's good to be back so this is going to be not the last stream that we do with fire emblem warriors but it is going to be the last that we spend with golden wildfire i have a few supports that i need to run through and grab on my own time and i'm debating as to whether to unlock them and wait to do reactions to them after the fact or if i want to just record the reactions and post them up separately or what i want to do but all the same there are a few supports that i need to go fetch there i do want to see how the game shifts if i decide to well make a certain decision to chapter 10 so i'll be very curious to see how that plays out for now though what we have on the jacket is first a bunch of support conversations let people stream in streaming yeah i'm clever so we've got a few support conversations all of them should be unlocked say for the three that are but well say for the three in the support chain that are barred so with any luck i'll have a grand old time so let's get to it you've got a lot to get through before the final battle claude there's something i need to discuss with you sure but keep it short i know i don't look it but i'm actually pretty busy here are you making light of how i usually respond to your requests hey don't be like more of a burden on him than necessary anxiety has tormented his mind for years now and he's recently started finding his body less and less willing to cooperate with his brain so i've heard don't more on top of that is just gonna crush you and yet i need to do it all the same i can't let myself fall behind the other lester nobles most importantly i need to put an end to this war so i can start thinking about how to bring peace and stability back to house or delia's territory i get where you're coming from but everyone needs a break now and then your body's probably screaming at you to get some rest i'm all right well it's true my lifespan is slated to be short it's not like i'm gonna just drop dead out of the blue that doesn't mean you still don't need rest come on i'm just as healthy as i've ever been i assure you you look fine enough sure but there's something lingering beneath the surface weighing you down isn't there something the rest of us can't see your body's bound to give out if you keep pushing your limits without taking some time to recuperate but listen my cynthia i want this war to end just as fast as you do and once it does i'm going to settle the score with those who slither in the dark in other words it's in your best interest to stick with me so consider this an order from your king stop fighting like you don't have a tomorrow to live for i mean i'm still most in this moment is the instability both in and outside of leicester's borders as a knight i must do whatever i can to help alleviate the situation you're right the whole alliance was in complete chaos when shaheed attacked but that's exactly why i founded the federation so we could overcome whatever strife came our way i really wish there was more i could do to help in that case how about we send you on a reconnaissance mission what wait where are you going with this is this just a ploy to get him to see more scenery are you just trying to inspire him in that direction please do it's simple you go to all sorts of different places maybe scout out a few towns and take note of everything you see in here while you're there sounds like the perfect job for you doesn't it are you sure no this is where we're going with this okay cool i mean the guy went down in one hit how tough could he have been were you wielding franco gold that is a hero's relic you know it sounds like you still don't know just how strong you are your brother aside there is no one in house goneril who could stand against you my lady here here we all rely on you and we'll continue to do so into the future no pressure it was great having everybody shower me with compliments but i still want to know why you threw a feast for me in the first place because he's holst you could have just patted me on the back and told me good job and i would have been happy you're always putting me on a pedestal held up but you never appreciate your own accomplishments i want you to be prouder of yourself i want your quality they could for example be used by an opera troop oh that's the spin like the middle front opera company there's the spin exactly stage costumes use all manner of accessories and ornamentations you know and once they're seen in such a setting nobles from near and far will be clamoring to buy them oh oh okay so it's a mutually beneficial arrangement well i have seen the conversation between looking at well you're looking far beyond faerun then one of the plant kinda gardens is actually a giant tree in space whose roots drilled into massive meteorites creating a planet that way huh how did that form let's see a literal flat earth let's see there's also a literal flat earth mostly made out of ocean and with a giant thousand mile tall mountain the peak in the middle of it it's natively inhabited by beholders who's purely for pragmatic purposes that outsiders come to their world and trade with them ah a place that's in purely inhabited by beholders i'd be surprised that that civilization is still intact though given the nature of beholders tend to be very self-interested although i suppose given their psionic abilities it would be pretty easy to keep well to convince people to trade with you and offer other services either way oh geez there's a lot in this one we're going to be here a while all right next round delicious as always all right now that the old around trust me i know the feeling i've eaten a lot of weird stuff before like what uh i don't know old hard stuff fuzzy green stuff i think i ate some long really stuff once um what goodness me and you weren't sick even after eating all of those bizarre things nope oh before the record i only eat weird stuff when i'm really hungry i wish this poor horse had a stomach like yours hey if you want a strong stomach all you got to do is whip those gut muscles into shape i that's not how no no no that's not how that works children don't take advice from raphael first you do a thousand crunches give road ahead but we've taken the first step together so it ends it is now 1183 blue sea moon the federation has joined with the empire to invade the holy kingdom of fargus [Music] claude sought not to conquer the kingdom but to destroy the central church after archbishop reyes defeat the church has lost much of its martial prowess [Music] and there's probably all sorts of questions given reyes nature tensions continue between the empire and kingdom having now reached his goal claude proposes an end to the war yet it remains uncertain if either side will accept [Music] i guess i'll have to see the other side of that to get a prop full answer huh we've got a ways to go then still should be a fun time though this was any indication no dialogue yes not there we are i don't know if any of those resources will do me any good but either way there we frickin are it is done blast it is done so let's catch up on chat while this scrolls all right and see speaking of religion temples and all that jazz i like it when in fantasy their aesthetics well atheistic antitheistic or agnostic characters especially when exists being deities are actually a thing in the setting for example in dnd there are exists fashion of a thar if don't think the gods are well the gods they see them as just powerful beings and believe in the great unknown this vague divine force that according to them is the real deal oh the authority people also get divine spells like normal greece and on top of that abilities that are unable to negate other divine magics so they have physical proof of their beliefs like other religions well by the sounds of it that's not necessarily a that sounds like it's more of a different kind of religion instead of well instead of just straight up not well atheistic although i guess it depends on the nature of their quote unquote god let's see it let's see there exit let's see in the and glorion the setting for pathfinders e20 real set game there exists agnostic people who don't deny the existence of gods but simply they are well agnostic and don't see divine magic and generally don't divine intervention is real divinity because like real life agnostic they don't think human mortals have the ability to truly define and comprehend what divinity actually is well i'll have to check out the pathfinder setting at one point i do know that there are some interesting games in play related to the pathfinder setting so i suspect that i'll get to see some of that before too long but all the same it should be interesting to see how it all plays out either way here we are at the end that was well that was fire emblem warriors three hopes golden wildfire very curious to see how things play out i'm gonna speed this up a little bit because it looks like they're throwing in a lot as far as yeah it looks like they're throwing in literally every single mission at least the first attempt that i make at every single mission so if i didn't hold down the button we'd be here for a while although you can definitely tell that i use sheds in most of these missions you can definitely tell that i used them on most of these missions but it is nice to look back though if only asked out of morbid curiosity [Music] oh man that was a lot what time is it oh wow actually earlier than i expected to be done with it then again it was only one battle and there i've typically been starting these out by doing support conversations and then overloading with well then doing the battle and then throwing a bunch of stuff in behind it so i guess i shouldn't be surprised that it did wrap up so quickly still here we are lawrence did end up the mvp funny how that works our task may be unfinished but we've made quite the dent and that's something to celebrate i can't count the number of times you pulled me out of the fire or just listen patiently as i complained about one annoying thing or the other so if i haven't properly said it before i want to say it now thank you thank you for everything the future is always a blank page but i hope you'll stick around to help me write it what do you say [Music] i guess so i guess in that case the merck whistle is the one who i guess the merc whistle then determines who gets the what what letter you get then huh okay fair enough huh be very so are there any paired endings or anything like that guess not all righty then i suppose it is technically over how not at least for this route although interesting that they don't really give much of a look at what the game what ends up [Music] although i'm very curious though as to how things are going to play out though because there's a lot that isn't necessarily discussed in the different routes that [Music] i don't know how things gonna play out because the problem is that the route only really gives us insight into what's going on with a particular faction usually and we only get little brief glimpses into the others so i'm just trying to think of at this point what all more i'm trying to think of how the story is going to play out in the other two routes because there's got to be some difference in how things play out as a result of shaz being a part of the kingdom or imperial armies but at the same time what kind of influence will that have and will it lead to significant deviations from what's already here because based on what i'm based on when i see in the support log based on everything that can be found there my suspicion is that a lot of what is going to be shown is just going to be a different perspective on the same events and that's not necessarily a bad thing but i'll be curious to see what is different because i do know that there are well i do know that you have to deal while fight slash recruit or kill geraldton by left at all three of the routes and i know that it happens in a different chapter there but i'm curious to see what kind of events play out i mean with golden wildfire you get pulled in pretty much every direction it feels like you've got an attempt to go into you have to defend against the empire initially then you get pulled into all sorts of nonsense with respect to well you get pulled into oh it's not treehouse doing the localization this time interesting so anyway [Music] getting back on topic bumps the same that's the same vocal direction though so that makes sense either way getting back on topics so what was i talking about so you've got golden wildfire being well the alliance being pulled in literally every direction imaginable because first you have attempts at causing all kinds of havoc well just defending your home then you've got attempting to make habit in the empire before elmira pulls you away then you have attempts to cause havoc in the kingdom before those who slither in the dark pull you off the trail and yet there's still a lot even after seeing to all this that remains unresolved because how things turn out with the empire in the kingdom could have a significant sway over what ends up happening to the alliance so it's really weird to me that they stopped at this point instead of going into more detail as to how all three factions end up just if only to say okay here is what happened with the alliance specifically the fact that there isn't a whole lot of detail spent on that is strange to me so because i had seen i think a thumbnail claiming that the game seemed pretty good by theirs by the standards of youtube video i i only saw the thumbnail so i don't know too much about what was said or who was saying it but i think the thumbnail said that it's a game that felt incomplete and since that it's someone who wouldn't be as he's slowed down for lack of a better word by the by lack of a better well for lack of a better phrase by the fact that you're streaming it because i suspect that by now there are people who will have gone through this game in all three of the routes so there's undoubtedly plenty of information out there as to how things play out and how everything is supposed to fit together but i am still very surprised at the fact that there's very little talk about the how following turns out as a result of the exact choices that are made here [Music] because does claude stay on as the kingdom of the federation does the do the kingdom and empire still exist in some form what's elmira's status and all this and yet now you're just gonna put a finito on it and call it a day so i don't know how to make of this it seems like there should be more going on with this renowned exchange instantly capture a region unlocked maddening oh there's a maddening mode okay if you select the finished play through using the continue option you'll start just before the final battle okay in that case i'll go ahead and i guess i'll let this be the new game plus data [Music] okay huh they added fail not to the screen because i know people were making a big deal about the fact that the two swords were crossed before you recruit bioleth so huh they added they added fail not to the screen now so mulling over all of that i'm very curious to see how things will play out [Music] so we've got clear data there that i can presumably use i guess let's check real quick yeah i think i will do a new game plus for the next round so we'll see how that plays out let's see perhaps that was exactly the point you have to play through the rest of the pads and from those game partial information you get the full picture of what happened well that's what's interesting though is that three houses did a similar thing where there was a lot that wasn't told in the moment where because i had started with the blue lions route within three houses and as a result i got a very focused story on the problems that dimitri specifically was facing where you spent a lot of time over the course of literal years just understanding this character understanding vargas as a nation and then over the course of that going on a really compelling character arc unfortunately the linchpin's supporting structure isn't great and that's something that i'll be using as an example in my review of this game just to explain how i'm gonna be critiquing it but as a result of that well there was a lot that wasn't told during that route you learn nothing about the shadowy figures those who slither in the dark and during that round you get very little insight into claude or edelgard's perspective you're just suddenly edelgard is on the attack and you just gotta deal with it and there's also all of this other stuff that they very slowly drip feed about how demetri and edelgard know each other and what they think of each other and because of that it definitely has it's definitely a matter of different routes and that's partially why they feel like more complete stories in three houses but the thing is that the three houses narrative is a complete narrative and especially with some of the conversations that they added in the dlc where they actually account for those who slither in the dark with the introduction of the ashen wolves as dlc they were able to say hang on happy has this backstory and as a result of knowing dimitri's mother-in-law which they can then introduce this aspect to ensure that yes those who slither in the dark aren't accounted for in the blue lines route as well even if it's not the primary or main focus so the thing is this time though it's not a complete tale we don't know how what the resolution but the simple fact that we just don't know what the resolution is and i think that's what's annoying about it because on one hand technically i have seen to a resolution of sorts by failing rhea but at the same time there is still a lot of unknowns unknowns that did not exist at the end of three houses which is frustrating so uh i don't know about this i it's gonna take me a long time to process this and i'm hoping that i'll get some solid resolutions as we go forward with new game plus as we learn more about the circumstances and as we press on ahead that is my hope whether that'll end up happening or not that remains to be seen because what i would hope for is once that i've finished all three routes that we do actually get to see in some form how everything plays out whether that ends up happening or not i guess time will tell unfortunately it's going to be literal months for me because i'll be avoiding spoilers and at the rate that it took me to finish this one i mean the game came out what end of june and it's already the end of july and this was despite doing oh and if i'm doing a chapter a week and to be fair i wasn't just doing a chapter a week last time but even with a chapter a week if and if you don't treat the two extra chapters that you get when you recruit bilith so you get 11 chapters it's gonna be tough to fit that all in unless i straight up drop xenoblade which i'm not willing to do right now although maybe once i'm finished with metroid dread maybe i can reclaim multiple spots or find spare time here and there it's not as if i'm in a mad rush to finish my torchlight 2 retrospectives since that i've got finished most of the audio editing for that and can chip away at the video portion over the course of the next few weeks leading up to that leading up to that game's 10-year anniversary but i don't know it's the same it's the same bittersweet feeling that i had at the end of the blue lines route where there was a lot that well there were and there was there was a lot of questions especially given that after the time skip in the blue lines route raya literally does not show up on screen again so there was a lot of a lot of unanswered questions about violet's nature a lot of unanswered questions about those who slither in the dark all of that dynamic but it was a complete narrative there was an end point there was a future that we could see but that doesn't exist here why doesn't it exist here i mean theoretically we don't necessarily need it but at the same time if you're well i guess what was the expectation for i'm gonna kill the music real quick just so i can keep focusing so i'm trying to think of what exactly the developers were aiming for because the path that they have set up is not going to be the same path that led to the end of three houses the way the three houses always ends up is that you are always consistently at a point where one of the three leaders is well in most of them there is a major leader at the end of fodland who is effectively uniting fodlin that all of these disparate elements come together around something whether it be edelgard's vision of the future whether it be dimitri regaining his footing whether it be claude's ideal whether it be none of them and yet this time i don't see that future happening in this iteration not without another game's worth of content you would have to make a follow-up to this game to properly explain and to really flesh out all of this unless there is something tucked away within upcoming dlc which screw you if that's the case come on make a complete game then sell me dlc you morons or i don't know this leaves a very bittersweet taste in my mouth because on one hand from a gameplay standpoint it's actually pretty decent i did enjoy the gameplay aspect and that might just be from finally getting a feel for how warriors games work after trying fire emblem warriors while waiting for three houses after spending a little bit of time with hyrule warriors just on a whim after really enjoying age of calamity to be fair i ended up liking the gameplay of that more than the story aspect with how it ended up playing out but this time i don't know what to make of it i don't know what to make of it i'm hopeful that we will get further answers as we go further along i'm hopeful that we'll actually get to explore this but as it exists right now it feels incomplete and it incomplete in a way the three houses did it because with three houses since that it was just its game i could act with i could play it with confidence that it's self-contained that i pick around there will be a complete story that does not seem to be the case here and that worries me that did you actually complete the story did you think about where everybody is going to be after this is it going to there's a lot of unknowns there is there are a lot of unknowns and i'm really worried about how that's going to work out all the same i suppose time will tell i suppose time will tell so with that in mind i suppose that's where we will end the stream because i'm probably gonna go well i'll be going through new game plus on my own up to the point where we ended the black eagle run last time when we were playing the demo which was right as we were starting chapter four so i'll be playing up to that point i'll be switching up i think i chose female chefs for that playthrough so that'll be a small change there so we'll i don't expect that to have any substantial story differences but we'll see how it turns out so that's how we'll play that so i don't know when i'll be able to jump into this next but well i know it'll at least be thursday because i don't anticipate be there being any craziness going into august but i guess we'll see i guess we will see so either way that was golden wildfire bittersweet ending i'm very curious to see what the other routes will do so in that case if i have time to play it on sunday i probably will if not we will jump in on thursday so let's chat up to anything silly why does wait elbow cough wait is that your name for bail not what who are you referring to there unless you mean just the symbols here but although there's probably plenty of stuff that we haven't fully seen yet but i don't know we'll have to see how it plays out i guess so either way i've been rambling enough i don't know maybe i'll clip this part out yeah maybe i will actually because this is the same thing that happened with three houses where i ended up just rambling for a long time about the game and to be fair i had reason to ramble there was a lot of interesting stuff to discuss and that three houses was a two month long obsession where i just played nothing but the world could have ended and i wouldn't have even noticed and then i spent another six months making the long-winded review of it so maybe i was just hoping for something similar here but then again since i already know the characters since i already know the setting i suppose that i should have expected it to not be quite the same still i suppose time will tell as to how it all plays out so for now that's where we'll call it so if i'm able to jump in sunday we'll jump in then otherwise i'll see you thursday and as for the usual stream schedule xenoblade on wednesday metroid dread on sunday as per usual so hopefully it'll be more interesting with the black eagle route we'll be ending with my boys in blue so at the very least i'll have a fun time with the characters so all the same it is at least nice to see the characters being themselves even if the plotline itself feels unfinished at least the characters are still being themselves that at least seems intact even with some of the more questionable aspects with claude's characterization in this round but i guess we'll see either way that'll be it thank you all for
