Filmmaker Reacts to Escape from Tarkov Raid - Ep 5

final episode is out now by the way we'd love to see him watch episode 5. episode 5 is out the finale was just released yesterday hey man fifth episode was already released hope to see an episode five reaction from you ryan okay i know listen i'm sorry i've been ridiculously busy but i am here now you guys have waited long enough so i'm just going to skip all the youtuber crap the raid episode 5 the final episode i haven't seen it yet because i knew i was going to make this video this is my first time watching it just stick around to the end of the video where i have one quick announcement to make but other than that let's jump right in all right let's start i think last time um he had just come out from that trader's den and one of them had told um him to come meet him after he had like the you sex little container thing hmm yeah i think that was the thing wasn't it it's definitely not yours show me your hands show me your [ __ ] hands wait is that the same guy that um kind of helped him get out from the scav fight that he stole it from or is this another sec so he speaks russian and he or like he understands russian and then he understands english so i mean this isn't a filmmaking thing but i wonder if canonically that's gonna be a thing for um the actual game when they add like voice stuff later down the line um because it was always a question of whether yousek would understand bear and vice versa it seems like they can so but then why don't they just speak in one language like why don't they both speak russian and or english whatever to control chaos in tarkov is just the beginning this case contains classified documents about all the bio experiments do you believe them we were supposed to give the case back to terror group but i have a better plan we can shoot each other right here right now and be done with it or we can try to get away from tarkov and hand off this [ __ ] about terror group to independent media you decide yeah clever move i love the nightshot scenes actually knights is really hard to film and over here for the most part it seems like this would have been like probably around just after sunset i know it looks really dark now it could be edited to look like nighttime but just from the graininess of it you know you go out a little bit after sunset you'd be surprised especially with cinema cameras but that require a lot of light generally to operate properly you'd be surprised how ridiculously dark it looks for some reason well the reason is pretty obvious but um yeah so nighttime shoots are really difficult i don't know i can't really see if they have an actual light source that they've brought with themselves i don't see any shadows being cast that are unnatural um maybe like one very big bounce light somewhere down like on in the direction behind them but even then i don't know i just think that they went out a little bit after sunset dropped the iso down a little bit on the cameras and um and to be honest even you don't even need to do that with most cinema cameras like i said because um well it just depends i mean i'm saying all this stuff i don't know what camera they use they do have a behind the scenes um video that i'm going to look at after this one like a proper one this time so then we'll find out but let's see oh that's cool actual night vision oh it's the monocle site okay that is definitely lit up the crap hang on not this but this like there's a huge backlight on him very cool he looks like a silhouette um it's a very hard light too i don't think it's even being defused particularly is that's funny because meters whenever i speak to american friends of mine like i always refer to things as meters and they're like how many feet is that i don't know nobody uses that other than you guys that's funny that they incorporated that into the game literally even like playing with um tarkov with american friends and i'm like oh the zeroing on that shot was like 150 meters and they can't like really fathom i mean obviously it says 150 but they're like how do you know that because i know meters i don't know why they've added shaky cam here i guess actually no it's it is a little bit intense because of the communication barrier besides i guess handheld makes more sense for like when you're trying to sneak around right you'll figure it out i like how they used real night vision i don't know how they did that um did they mount it in front of the camera or what or or didn't maybe the night vision goggles have internal recording on them because the quality is kind of crappy compared to the rest of the film like in terms of video wise you know i'm pausing this one a lot because i haven't seen it myself and i don't want to miss something so whenever i'm going to make a comment i'm going to pause it briefly so over here there's probably like a big lantern style light like they have these big like chinese lantern looking lights that they usually suspend over these kind of shots um to like uniformly light it as if it's like one big light or sometimes even imitate moonlight it's really hard to shoot at night guys like don't underestimate how ridiculously difficult it is to shoot at night but also to shoot out like in the middle of nature where there's no um natural light coming in from like the ambient lights of the city like if you're shooting out in the middle of town you're gonna have a little bit of street lights house slides shop lights whatever but if you're going out in the middle of the woods which i think they actually have done it's really difficult because you even if you decide to take lights you have to take a lot of heavy equipment generators you know it's just such a pain in the ass and like you can see like to the left side of the screen they have like another blue light hitting there they have one big light coming in from the top and you can see on his cheek as well with that blue light coming in just to kind of like because he's wearing black it's nighttime and his background is also black to give him like a bit of separation but it's super hard to shoot at night and they've been they're doing a pretty good job of it again here like black on black on at night time again so they hit it with that fog and that light so the fog is gonna be like some kind of fog machine or whatever and that's gonna cause the light to diffuse a little bit so it's not as harsh but it gives these bad guys enough of a separation from you know just pitch black because imagine like that guy you can see the one on the right like kind of like if you just take half of him and they have another like coming in from kind of like you can see on the guy on the left side he's got on his cheekbone he's got like another blue light i think it's literally the two same lights that they have for the other scene the previous scene they just repositioned them add a little bit of smoke in there really good you got to work with what you have when you're out in the middle of woods you know kill where are they going exactly i wonder what is it so what i don't understand is if they were going with mike's plan of taking it selling it to the media or just exposing our group to the media why even bother going to the meeting point where you know it's probably a trap and where you know it's gonna be [ __ ] dangerous whoops there's my ad revenue gone whatever but um you know why would you not just just get out of tarkov why would he even bother meeting these guys to begin with attack okay a lot of dutch angles a lot of tilted angles and close-ups oh labs so he's talking to terror group okay so we got some um compositing going on so basically in something like after effects they would have taken a i mean you guys might already know what compositing is if you watch anything like art or digital or whatever which you probably do if you've been recommended this channel but whatever they take separate images and they layer them on and on and on and on each other whether that be 3d uh kind of renderings which i think in a lot of the here like with some of the buildings it's probably just 3d renderings that they've made taking different elements from different pictures and they overlaid them it's really difficult to explain it to you but i'll i'll either put a link in the description for a video that explains compositing or i'll try and put some kind of illustration up in just a second so they take the image you know how like in photoshop you can crop something out and it delete the background so yeah they do that same concept add another layer behind it add another layer and basically kind of like layer on layer on layer on layer like a cake of visual elements uh that's the probably the worst way to explain it but what i've done is took a shot off a field with that road maybe even the roads fake but they probably had the road added in those tank stoppers added in the fence then the 3d renderings of those buildings the biggest thing that gives it away in this thing to me is the big hovercraft to the left it just seems a little bit out of place in comparison to the ocean that's behind it um but again like i've paused it on a still frame you know when it's moving in video form it's pretty good yeah it's 3d rendering because as as we're going up we're revealing a lot more which you know it actually makes absolutely a ton of sense because battlestate games is a game development company they making 3d assets for them is kind of their bread and butter so okay so they thought okay my bad guys so in the previous episode he was going to give him that box in return for a ticket to the mainland i understand now that's where they have to go to the meeting sorry i know somebody's probably already put in the comments that's because they needed a ticket sorry i forgot it's been a while i hope we didn't get [ __ ] out of here that's cool it's the same people tried to kill him as well no matter what happens next i want you to say for the moment the last time we were together when we that's funny be put in the other way maybe so is that how you get to labs is that why you can't get to labs without the key card there's you gotta go through that [ __ ] compound oh i keep swearing oh it's been a while guys sorry it doesn't matter the video already swears anyway whatever oh cool i don't know how i feel about some of this kind of like really far away camera shaky stuff because usually when that's i mean it's not a rule there's no rules when it comes to like this kind of creative decisions but usually that kind of indicates somebody's watching them so that kind of leads me to believe that they're walking right into another trap because it's ominous somebody's watching them that's usually not a good sign you know obviously people are actually watching them with guns but it seems like there's a shadowy figure behind them also just like luring them into a trap there's not a lot more i can say in terms of like the filmmaking style compared to the first four episodes because it's the same guys making the same you know film so to speak so i understand that i'm probably not giving a ton of new stuff here but that's because most of it's been covered if there's anything new though i'm gonna try and comment on it mostly it's just narrative stuff at this point well that's a bit [ __ ] they took their one piece of bargain like their bargaining power or did they throw it back to them i don't know what the [ __ ] they gave back to them what the heck power's under attack it's more than a sniper dude i think it's you sick like how calm they're just walking oh yeah that's what you get that's you sick i'm thinking [Music] i love the tracers i love the tracers if you ever like look at that exact shot that's so well done i i'm you know there's a lot of mixture i'm sure here of like practical explosions and you know visual effects added in later but if you go ahead and look up you know a minigun firing or video whatever the traces look very very accurate i mean obviously usually in the videos that's shooting away from the camera but you can always imagine it the other way around the whole series everything with guns has been just so so incredibly well portrayed [Applause] don't have the number one kind of suspects for this whole thing [Music] who are the guys that are pouring in yeah you suck i think if you didn't catch that that was a really big machine okay yeah there you go guys so the person somebody was watching them throughout the whole thing sorry uh took me a minute to see what was going on there but yeah so i was thinking the whole time man this camera angles that they're using if they're gonna be walking into a trap that's in there waiting for them why bother using the camera technique of like somebody's following the shadowy figure from behind guess what that camera technique is a big giveaway that somebody actually was i i don't know why i didn't initially it didn't initially click on my head straight away but yeah whenever you see a camera technique where like you it's like a little bit shaky a little bit dark and like there's stuff in front of you and you're seeing like your main characters far away it's an indication that something or somebody is following them or luring them somewhere that they want oh those bags were all explosives yeah [Applause] oh those are scabs i was going to say that's a very unorganized approach for eusek to just charge and yell uh damn that's so it's a little cool difficult to see what's going on um but that's kind of the point in this situation our main characters and everybody within the compound had no clue what the hell's going on and it's hard to tell who's who that's funny back so soon bro oh my god did you see that did you see that i don't want to you know what i've already saw like twice let's just go back and show the body parts don't try and pause whatever happens it's so cool like he's just shooting straight through that's one thing that the actual tarkov game doesn't have yet bullet penetration through materials still isn't really a thing look at this there is something actually popping straight out of that car or no it's it's it's a visual effect smoke but who cares it's cool who cares like literally had i not paused it on this exact frame you would never know you would never know especially with that that's that's real that's an explosion and he's on a line getting pulled back really really hard and probably under that uh sand or soil whatever that or that you know gravel there's a some kind of a cushion or a mattress to block his fall obviously they removed that line attached to his back and and the edit he goes flying back and there his arm is just not even there anymore try and turn the kit back back on jeez i want that's crazy i like how his friend is just like oh crap just looking at him like that oh my god foreign you sex gonna knock him out oh did that hit him or that land next to them and i mean that would still mess you up right yeah i messed them up i don't think they're both dead i think at least one of them live right let's see maybe not it is tarkov after all yeah mike's dead i think dude go confirm them in a minute watch this maybe not this is black fox jackpot black folks should have just not said anything [Music] so we started the series with the newsreel and we're finishing it back full circle and it's kind of i mean the kind of a mirror image of real life where all this crap is happening but all that is to me and you is a you know hopefully just a news news story wow okay so man that was great actually i didn't i didn't speak through a lot of it because it's my first time watching it as well i just really wanted to see the story through and honestly i was incredibly just well done in every way all episodes were well done there were bits and bobs that i have complained about in the past a lot with the logic of some of what the main character does just doesn't really add up and it doesn't add up and it got everybody killed including himself in the end so i still stick with that criticism but as a whole as a series as like a film even if you were to like take all the episodes and edit them into one long film amazing it's better than like 80 of the crap that you see on tv or you know netflix or wherever you know because nobody goes to the cinema it's a freaking pandemic going on right now right but it was just very well done i didn't expect that ending i didn't expect both of them to die but then again i probably should have because it's tarkov and you always die well you eventually always die right you can only get away for so long and a really cool way of just bringing it all back around um to another news report at the end i really really absolutely need to look at the behind the scenes video that they have up haven't seen that either so i'm going to be doing a kind of a react video to that i say react but these are more like breakdowns i'm not really i mean i am reacting you know i i i'm not a robot i'll see stuff and i'll react to it but it's more breakdowns than anything right but i i would really love to see the behind the scenes and i will which brings me on to my announcement which was more just to say you know it's been a long time since i've been back on this channel i hadn't realized just how long it been until i came back on and i saw um when my last video was and another thing that i saw that i wanted to mention was a ton of comments from you guys asking when i'm gonna do the next video still talking about the videos that i had done before and asking questions and stuff like that and i just wanted to say that was a really incredibly pleasant surprise to kind of come back to after so long because i make these videos for people to see and there's not a lot of us here right now there's only 150 subscribers on this channel i think but to see that you guys actually care about what i'm doing and you guys are actually interested in seeing what i have to say and um looking at the kind of breakdowns i do that meant a lot to me and i just wanted to say thank you guys for being so patient thank you guys for checking up on me um i realized i hadn't logged in in a long time i'd been really busy with work and um just trying to make ends meet during the pandemic it's been it had been quite hard for me just financially luckily now things are looking a lot better so that's why i wasn't on in case you wanted to know um because i know i kept you guys waiting forever but i really appreciate the support from everybody in the comments and all the positive comments all the negative comments all the comments but just seeing that people were looking forward to the next video it made me ex incredibly happy so i just wanted to thank you guys for that um by the time you see this video it should be friday the 9th of april after this video goes up
