[Music] hi guys this is Rosa Kelly and I'm here with a new tutorial for country craft creations and this one I'm going to be doing a Easter mini album you've seen the beautiful authentic Jubilee paper collection lovely collection so vintage and sweet at the same time love it absolutely beautiful and then I'm gonna be using also of the seam binding and all these goodies that you see here that Tommy sent me on my design team package so for this album we are going to be using file folders so me and my daughter am I kind of came out with some very cool ideas on how do I say reduce recycle because we had you know we had a big package that we bought a piece for school and then we had all these leftovers and then we said how we can do something fun with it so we kind of have a fun mother-daughter time creating some layouts just using the file folders I'm also going to be using these 12 by 12 chipboard I'm gonna do is just one piece so you know for my back and front covers and so I'm gonna go ahead and start just cutting this out at nine by six so all of these you can find at country craft creations comm you can find it cheap or you can find the seam binding the paper collection just everything and I'm of course going to put the link down below so I cut this at nine and now this is nine by twelve and I'm gonna cut these at six and because it's a very thick chipboard I'm gonna cut it one more time so that way it just comes out silly so I'm gonna put those aside and then I'm gonna show you what we're gonna do with the file folders so I'm using this file folders I know they're not all the same so I'm gonna tell you the one that I'm using measures let's see 11 in 3/4 by how do you measure this this way by nine and a quarter ish a little short of nine in a quarter so anyway you use whichever you have right if you have not exactly this dimensions you can still follow the tutorial just doing it to your to your file folders I know some are longer and somewhat shorter just make sure you don't add your covers here until you know the exact dimensions of your file okay so now with that said I'm gonna serve it the first one I'm gonna grab my bone folder and I'm gonna fold this in half like this so I'm gonna make sure that even on this side and just kind of press space right down the center and then I'm gonna open these up like that and so you see that this is my front and this is my back and on this case I have this tab on on the back here so what I'm gonna do is I'm going to open it again and I'm gonna cut this part up so I'm gonna open it and I'm going to just use my paper trimmer and cut one of these sides here just just from here to there and this doesn't quite exactly measure 6 inches it's a little bit short of 6 just so I'm just gonna place it on my trimmer like that and it's just gonna go to that map so it's a little bit before to six inches so make sure you don't you don't go past it okay so once I trim that I'm going to close my envelope again my folder again and close it again like we had it and now we have this page and then we have this other page and then we're gonna have this fold down page so that's gonna be our first or first file folder design for a second file folder again I'm gonna grab my my folder here and I'm gonna do exactly the same thing I'm going to fold this right on half just like that and then I'm gonna open these up and the one that goes inside I'm actually going to use my paper trimmer again and from the center light where we fold it I'm just going to go and place that at four inches it doesn't have to be for you can do three five and I'm just gonna cut right there and then I'm going to fold it like this okay we have this long piece and then I'm going to trim from this corner kind of like a triangle like that at an angle okay so I'm gonna place that corner here on my paper trimmer where it's going to start cutting and just at an angle any angle just do that now we take this little piece out and then we hope this again and we close it and now we have this folder shape okay now you don't want to glue this on yet we're gonna add our paper and exam we're gonna good I mean so this is going to be our sick hand for our third file folder I'm going to do the same folding it on half just like that and then I'm gonna open this again and then see how you file folder has these score marks on the button here so what you're gonna do is you're gonna fold along the score lines you're gonna take advantage of that and fold out dad and you're gonna mark it and then you're gonna fold in again so what kind of like creating an expandable pocket here okay so now you have this little heal in in there okay so then I'm gonna trim this because I have on an even edge and so from these glasses score line I'm just gonna trim that at six inches and then I'm gonna go back in here okay so I'm gonna open these and this little heal this little thing that you have I'm going to trim the corner just like dad like that and then on the center here I'm going to do like a triangle dad and like okay so we have these and then I'm just going to and then to close this other edge here I'm going to use just a regular piece of cardstock I'm kind of have one that matches the color and I'm going to cut this out six inches by Q inches so I have a piece of six by two and I'm going to need one more of six by two so I have those two and so each one of these I'm going to score at half at one and one and a half so same thing for the other one two pieces and I'm just gonna fool these like an accordion so I'm gonna go there and these piece is gonna go right now this measures six inches which is exactly this length but because we have this other little Hill I think I'm actually going to reduce that a little bit now before we glue this part in since I want my album to have a vintage feel I'm gonna go ahead and ink using my distress ink from Tim hauls vintage oh and just these stress here my pocket well it's gonna be my pocket because laughter I blew it it's going to be a little bit more difficult to to ink at least this the rest you can do up there [Music] [Music] so now that I have that I'm going to open this up again and I'm going to glue these piece so I'm gonna use just some wet glue and I'm gonna place it on this the pocket side cuz if I try to do it here I don't know exactly where we're gonna put it so over here I'm just going to align that with the pocket and you want to align that with the outside on the outside part so I'm gonna do that one and then this one too for the other side just hold it do that again I'm gonna take about half an inch out and then I'm gonna add glue to one of the sides and when you put it in there make sure that let's see you have your little I call it little heels I don't know what else to call it so make sure that opening is to the inside on the first the first one are you put it in and same thing here see how the opening is kind of facing the inside okay so now that I have those two I'm gonna add some more glue on these flaps here [Music] okay and then I'm just going to close close these make sure these is score is flat and then I'm just going to close so that is file folder number three so now we have when we open it we have this expandable pop if you like you can glue the center so it's not opening like that but I'm going to do that after I add my papers behind it and for my last file folder I'm actually going to not going to fold it I'm just going to cut these at nine inches which is the length of my page here you grab one of the previous ones nine inches is from here to here so I'm cutting this of nine and all I'm going to do is fold this first one and grab them the outside edge not the inside edge and match it to the back of the page I'm actually leaving a little bit of an offset and then I'm gonna do the same with this other one but I'm going to match the long the outside edge again which is that so and again I'm not going all the way against I'm just like about 1/8 away from the edge like these this match okay so I'm gonna fold that one there and make sure is lying to the bottom and then I like to fold it so I have like an accordion fold type of page okay so that's gonna be my last page so this is the first one that we did opens up like that the second one this one's that they're one with expandable pockets and this will be our last one now if you want and I think I'm going to do that I'm actually going to put this one on this side like so and this one is going to be find that on on this side yeah so this will open like so and then these two are connected and then please find it here so now let's do the binding for pages so for that again I'm going to use a piece of cardstock and I'm going to trim that at 9 inches okay I think I'm going to cut these that's two and a half going to needs if I have four pages I'm probably going to need five of those but this is what we're going to do I'm going to grab my scoreboard and scored these pieces that's 1 inch and 1/2 so you have a one inch a half an inch and a one inch and we're gonna do the same and let me show you how we're going to put them together so basically the first to hold the long line here and we're going to glue this part on the side just like that so I'm gonna add some glue here and I'm using this fabric tuck because I ran out of my tacky glue right this this one okay so and then I'm going to place this one right on this side on one of my file folders and the half an inch is my closet and then this one this other one inch is going to be glued to this page like that now they see a way to do this is just press it all the way the room and add the glue on the one inch to one inch part and then we're going to place our next page right along the score line now make sure that even I've been down a line to the other page and here we go so now we have these two with a half an inch and now we're going to continue doing the same thing add in all the other ones so next I'm going to do this one so again I'm going to fold these and I'm going to add the one inch side right there okay I think I'm gonna add my blue and so now before you add this page make sure you open the flaps okay that way we don't do the flaps in just like that one so again my blue [Music] and then the last last one now you can continue adding more folders if you like you can probably add two more so I'm just gonna add this one there so now we have I'm just closing back okay so now we have our pages together okay so now for the covers so my two pieces of chipboard like you like I said I cut them at nine by six so if you're not using the same size as I am just make sure that your piece of chipboard measures your front page so what I'm gonna do here is I'm just going to cover each one of these so first I'm just going to glue and I'm just using two pieces of regular cardstock and I'm just using the the cream color the matter you know it's the same color as my my folders that I'm using so I'm just gonna do that and just cover each one of these I'm going to trim the corners and make sure you don't trim too close to the chipboard otherwise your chip or it's going to be exposed after you fold it so you don't want that and I'm just going to plug this in and then I'm going to hold the other two sides and before I go I mean make sure you are tacking in the corner so you don't have that pointy edge I just kind of push it in with my nails okay so then you're gonna hold it and make sure your board rise so I'm gonna do exactly the same thing with the other cover so I have my two covers and this is how they look on the front and this is how they look on the back and that's okay so I'm going to ink all around these first before I add I'm into my my bone and then I'm also going to go ahead and ink my pages as well before I bind it because right now it's a little bit more more easy to too many peeling so I'm gonna ink everything and I'll be right back so I am done thinking all the inside pages it kind of looks like a hot mess right now it's okay and I also ain't thick colors and before I add these I'm gonna use one piece of my folder scraps and I'm gonna cut down at nine inches as well so just any piece that you have and I'm actually gonna keep it double like that and I'm gonna use this for my spine so just nine inches here so that's that length I think I'm gonna cut these by one and so now these I'm gonna put together and this is gonna be for my spine yeah so I'm just gonna join these two don't waste you know stronger piece just put this together and then we're going to add this one in my spine and I'm just doing that to prevent my spine for brains so wiggly as you can see so when we add this piece here is going to create the stability for your page so just everywhere come here and place it right on the center so you want to avoid and if you close it you want to avoid the etch itch so you don't want to glue it over the edge just like that okay so now that is like I said it's going to keep our album from being so Wiggly and then we're going to cover that also but okay now I'm going to go ahead and add my covers so what I'm going to do is just put my glue around here just kind of like everywhere but I'm not gonna do the top just because I think it's a little bit taller oh no it's like okay sorry I'm gonna I was thinking on these B's but no this one is mine so then I'm just going to place this right on top and make sure it's aligned to your spine and it's probably gonna be a little bit over on this side but that's okay and then for the back cover we're gonna do the same oh so this one see how we have that part sticking out you don't want to put glue [Music] and I like this glue cuz these glue won't bring all your paper or leave any bubbles or anything like that but if you're using a different glue you could actually use a brush and just brush out your glue before you add your paper or your cardstock and you can you know say won't wrinkle on the back if you're using a different kind of deal okay [Music] straight and we go so now we have the base of our album finish and our album is now ready to be decorated so that's the fun fun part so the first thing I do before I start adding the papers is I go back and I see where I'm gonna add my magnets and what kind of closure I'm gonna have for my album if I wanna closer so if you want to have lace this is the time to put lace if you want to have a different kind of closure you know this is when you wanna do it and then so here this first page that goes like that I'm going to be adding like adding my magnets using double-sided tape I just think it's easier I don't have to wait for the glue to dry or anything like that we're gonna grab my double-sided tape and pull my mouth net and so the first one that I'm going to do is back here so I'm going to place it right there and I'm gonna go one and just toss it in there and put my double-sided tape now with this sticky site up and now I'm going to close this okay and then these are the ones that flips to the side I'm going to grab the other magnet and just place it on the same location and put my tape sticky side up like that and then when I close these that's going to stay there so now these page will open up like that and okay so then this one won't need a magnet this one I'm going to glue after we add our paper here this one probably need a magnet on this flap here and this one swell so this one kind of break a little bit when I was easy but so I'm just gonna continue adding my magnets and I'll be right back
