Fidget Toys, EDC, and Bag Haul! - What's In My Mail Ep. 7

another week another stack of mail so let's check it out this time i actually saved some packaging so i could show it opening on camera today we're using my trusty leatherman t4 this is a brand that i found on instagram they're called donuts and they make these really cool looking bags so they reached out and said they wanted to send a few so let's check them out they have this series that's like all blacked out and i thought it was perfect for me so i've got this little guy which is like a little pouch holder with a clip on the end so you can clip it onto your bag it looks like it fits about the airpod size or you can fit some coins keys small things a pack of gum so that's really cool you just hook it on and it's all blacked out then you have this bag here which is more of a sling style bag metallic hardware which is really nice this bag really caught my eye because it's actually split into two parts so you have this one here that's connected to this bigger guy here and it looks like you can remove it and then you unhook it this becomes its own separate bag it can fit about a water bottle and it does have its own hook as well so again you can hook onto it you can hook it onto a back strap or or just carry it as its own little pouch it's more of a vertical drop pouch so quite a bit of space actually and if you did want to carry it with this some days strap that back on clip that back in well damn it's fairly big for a sling bag but great to hold looks like up to an ipad mini and it's got a really nice build oh wow it uses magnets it's got a cobra style buckle made of metal as well so this blacked out look definitely vibing with this one oh wow nice waterproof zippers and a bunch of organization inside smaller pockets zip pockets not a bad option if you're looking they have a new one called rhoda click and it's this guy so i showed off their spinner style previously but this one although it looks very similar it's got that coin design it's split into two it's actually made of magnets so instead of just freely spinning you can actually push up and down clicker style you can do it in any direction this coin style here gives you a groove so you can get some grip on it and a clean looking design too on the topic of fidget spinners and toys this one is from compilform it's like that game used to play as a child you get all the numbers aligned but this they made it into a metallic body kind of looks like a chocolate bar heavy duty and these magnetic points here all click into place these things don't actually fall out so you're safe to just use it wherever you want and it's definitely got that like click factor to it and i do like that it's really thin it's got some heft to it which you kind of want with these things so it doesn't feel like it's going to break on you when you push up on it but super fun super super fun check them out compliform they have some really cool designs that i haven't seen anywhere else but i think they're all sold out but you may get them on the aftermarket as well so check them out another one i found on instagram these guys are called delicious fist although not a fidget toy it's actually a finger nook so this is their junior made of titanium really just a thick ring and you get that bulge there and it's kind of fun to play with too and it's kind of inconspicuous you don't really see it you're really into big rings that's the one right there this thing will do some damage this is hard so delicious fists they have a few different designs i do like their junior it's slim it's mini and it's kind of cute to end off on the fidget spinners this one i picked up from amazon and it was just interesting it's a rubik's cube spinner but it still has the rubik's cube factor to it checking it out this guy here is well that's it it's just a it's a one layer rubric's cube the center is a spinner which actually looks really cool it's all made of plastic so it does have like a cheap feel to it but it feels like a rubik's cube and you can see there the edges spin so you have that rubik's cube vibe like if you like fidgeting with rubik's cubes this is it and i'm never going to be able to solve this again because i don't know how to solve a regular one so this could be like a mini rubik's cube you carry with you especially since it's kind of flat so stick it in your pocket next up i discovered that new era made these hat clips for face masks so if you're used to wearing masks that wrap around your ears and you don't like it it's discomfort then they made these plastic clips that you clip onto your hat so taking these guys out it's literally just pieces of plastic it's got like a belt clip design there that clips under the hat here and do the same for the other side now you got a little hook area so you can tie your face mastering onto it and you honestly don't feel it like you have two pieces of plastic here now but so if you don't want to hook down your ears let me get a mask just like that so the mask still sits on fine but now instead of it clinging onto your ear it's got a spot to hook onto that's not always dragging onto your ears you want to adjust it so it's far back enough that it's creating a good seal and yeah it works if you wear hats a lot like i do this was kind of like the perfect solution to save your ears plus they're dirt cheap on the packaging it says four dollars so really i mean it's just two pieces of plastic so on the topic of face masks i found this brand it's called hydemask which is just a mask built into the cap as you can see there it hides away really well as the name suggests it's magnetically clipped in so it doesn't fall on its own but when you need a mask it pops right down you don't see it it's hidden away when someone's going by you're walking into the store then bam it's even got a nose bridge so it creates a good seal it's not the prettiest shape you kind of look like a duck it's a lot of space on the inside so you can still breathe and move your mouth i'm talking fully right now it's not moving at all it's hooked into a hat here really tightly that is one point i am afraid it might crack at but so far it hasn't it's comfortable and then the best part is when you're done in the store whatever it's gone kind of flattening out there but it's literally a mask built into a cap so yeah i like it i like the combination of everyday things coming together to make it more useful hide a mask on a topic of mask though not a ppe mask i picked up this guy another brand i found on instagram from our lux tactical half mask why because it just looks freaking cool i mean it costs a heavy penny but let me just show you it's packaged really nicely just look at this if you're into techware or cyborgs or cyberpunk style damn so it's a hard shell mask all around the detailing on this is insane come on you can see the paint job on it using some stickers here and on the inside quite a bit of padding so when you wear it it's actually pretty comfortable so putting it on like in no way is this a regular ppe mass replacement because there's three giant holes here but i would not be brave enough to do so come on look at this i originally had this plan for a cyberpunk episode i haven't fully curated that yet but i do have that in the works and this was going to be one of the items because holy cow this just looks cool it was limited quantity and i actually got my hands on probably one of the last ones it's pretty much like an art piece because the detail on this on the topic of cool boxes that i received this is from artelect it's a brand new company they're an outdoors clothing design company kind of thing they're based in boulder so you know it's going to be good i don't believe they're for sale yet this is like a preview of what they're going to do and let me tell you this is cool so just the unboxing experience which i don't talk about a lot but this is worth it some detail cards they have this magazine book style thing might be just talking about outdoors ethos company they show their product line and this book is like premium look this is a blackout book this is something you just leave on your coffee table to look at because this is a keeper then they have another one this is called culture lines again this i assume is about their company and what they do the designers that work there the people that work there their ethos that kind of thing as well very high quality book i mean to just send this out then comes the product so i believe these are base layers which if you aren't in the outdoor scene it's just clothing you wear under your regular clothing so you can stay warm without such a thick layer their selling point is that it's just like the better merino i love that because here in toronto it's freaking cold this is their shirt five times better by design to me it looks like a regular shirt i can feel it's way softer though merino in general just is designed to keep you warm in such a thin layer the sides here is more of like a grid basketball jersey style so it gives it a little more breathability believe that's the same on this here which is their pants face layer yes so it's got the stretchy top you have breathing points along the top here and they kind of just look cool i mean that's like tron style outfit combined with the shirt as well not much else i can say i'm gonna try and wear these as much as i can just to get a feel for them one other cool thing is the packaging itself can have a second life so thanks guys oh this is a fidget toy from mackie pretty excited about this one look at that wow and that's a solid click it's got that blue tint to it this guy looks wicked feels wicked too it says 2017 to 2020 third anniversary coin mackie edc i'm not sure how old these are but i was told that they don't make these anymore so very cool pickup and very satisfying then there's this box which again no idea oh this is from helenox helenox they make those folding chairs and this is their new uh tote bag regular tote bag style you can carry stuff inside of it it's a regular tote bag but you can see all these layers here because you can see the fold lines it unfolds into a picnic blanket style thing with like this really thick material so you can have it down and have your picnic at the beach no sand is going to get on you like it just unfolds so everything you have inside kind of lays out and then when you're done you just fold it back in it easily hooks in place and then you have everything else on a blanket kind of just swishes up that's cool and it's got this like waterproof material i think if you're looking for a modular kind of all-in-one solution to head to the beach or somewhere outdoors this foldable bag is gonna be clutch and definitely using this when the summer comes along next up from one of my favorite brands orbit key they just released a new id card system that is available on kickstarter right now checking it out it's really just a standard kind of id card lanyard system but it's the details that really differentiate itself first off this huge cube that clips onto your belt or your jacket or bag you have the standard lanyard here and then the id card itself clear side kind of stiff and then an extra card pocket on the back for quick access there what makes this different is when you have it clipped on when you're in the office you want to show your id to make sure you're a real person and that you work there but when you go outside just like that hides away so you're not sharing you know secret stuff on the other side and then you can hold a credit card or your points card or something that you can quickly access on the other side when you're back in the office just like that it's based on this magnetic bar here that holds into place on the clip itself so it's not going to turn on its own and while you can just use the belt clip here it stays on securely and it even rotates for different angles they do include a neck lanyard with a piece that slots inside and it gives you a secure point to hang it it's a fairly standard id card system but again it's the details of the leather the pocketing and that flipping action along with the neckline here too so check them out they're on kickstarter right now again the best prices you'll get are always on kickstarter when you support a new product they've done several successful kickstarters in the past so if that's something you're worried about don't worry they will deliver i mean they have a fully functioning prototype right here so that's orbit key and their new id card system next up if you're in the edc world and like the collectible side of things you probably know peter mckinnon's pete's pirate life coin this is his v3 which i got my hands on finally so checking it out the unboxing experience is part of the whole thing i mean just look at this box limited edition it's got a tab here pull and it lifts this way again standard stickers now the one thing i freaking love about peter and his gear is that it's so overkill this is a fully metallic case and he has custom screws that's freaking insane and he even includes a custom hex nut thing that you have to use to open the packaging itself look at that super overkill but i freaking love it looking at the coin itself it comes in this nice leather pouch with the pirate logo embossed bam look at that detail holy it's all 3d got the pirate logo on the other side and the difference here is how thick this coin is got the textured edges and it just you can feel the weight of this thing so if you collect coins this is one to have and one to try and pick up he doesn't sell it on his website anymore if you were able to pick one up that's awesome it might be on the second hand market so keep an eye out for that plus the case itself is like worth it i also picked up two other things not as exciting but he has these new zipper pulls they're all metallic ended and it's just a little rope you can upgrade your bags your jacket your pants whatever with these metallic logoed i do dig those black ones but it does come in brass and copper as well so you get a whole set of that and this one here i was eyeing for a long time and i finally got a chance to pick this up as well this leather pouch and inside dice not just any dice titanium custom dice that's the one side and you have the numbers on the other and you can just hear the weight of them and they just feel good to play with i mean if you carry dice with you these are a must-have the carrying case is a nice touch as well so it allows you to just throw this in your pocket and always have a set of dice with you it's also nice to just fidget with in your hand it's a nice rectangular set with some weight to it too this is a new release from air one of my favorite bag makers this is their slim pouch which is basically like a pencil case for your tech looking at the size it's about the size of a pencil case it's something you can actually carry with you on the daily by itself or you can throw in a bag because it offers quite a bit of organization a quick access pocket for like your keys some candy your coins cards that kind of thing you can even see it is water sealed along with the main pocket up top it's semi-water sealed but taking a look inside there it's organization galore you have stretch pockets the front here sleeve pockets in the back a zippered one and a big sleeve one back there and just the main pocket for all your extra goodies as well so not the biggest bag it's not like a dopp kit it's not going to hold a tablet or anything but for all your accessories chargers batteries cables all those kind of things will fit perfectly inside this again you can just take this with you alone or pair it with a bag or something plus they actually have three color choices available too so this is the olive green and black combo look at that super sleek and the classic gray my personal favorite goes to the black if you're interested check them out link down below on the topic of bags another one of my favorite brands chrome industry because they basically make indestructible bags this is the nato backpack and i like it because of how simple it looks so it has that herschel-esque simple school bag style which is perfect when you combine it with chrome industries like indestructible design a quick overview front axis pocket it's actually got some volume in it so you can store quickly a bottle notebook cash cards got some size to it so when you expand it you can get quite a bit in there and on the inside you get the main big pocket some sleeve pen pencils tablet pocket there and your slightly padded laptop compartment there but like i said super simple and that's the beauty of the bag you want it to be simple especially for a book bag they actually have a water bottle built in on the inside as well so it keeps the outside kind of clean looking that's the nato backpack from chrome industries let me know if you're interested in more back to school content this would fit perfectly in that this next one is from dbrand i got my hands on their dark plate plates and if you have a ps5 this is a must-have for blacking out your pc if you want black out everything these simply clip on and off just like that and on the inside they even have a custom print like the og ps5 plates do but otherwise very simple installation is just like that they even have skins for the glossy part of it as well i have the icons triple black because come on that design is killer especially with the combo dark plates if you have a ps5 and want it blacked out do check out the dbrand dark plates they are on pretty much back order uh there's so much demand to black out your ps5 because there really isn't many other ways to do it so dark plates offers a super simple solution to just slap on and get a whole new ps5 this next one is the femi palm 2 which is a gimbal handheld camera my understanding is it's a super small camera that has a gimbal built into the head of it very similar to the dji osmo model this super nice this very nice soft casing as well it's kind of like a chocolate bar you can throw in your bag opening it up here is the camera itself wow that is actually pretty small comfy to hold nice grip on the sides here it's got a built-in screen here so it's also touch screen you can adjust your settings there the idea is the head just follows wherever you want so you don't get any shaky footage anymore and you can use the joystick to move it around as well there's definitely a lot more to it but that's the gist of it you got a camera that you no longer have to worry about kind of shaking too much anymore as it has a built-in like stabilizer for you it's a pretty neat design the last few things i picked up another magic sleeve from nedrillo the wool based sleeve with a magnetic edge built in because this one is actually almost double the size as the original i also picked up this mini one here perfect for cables your phone and other smaller things you need to carry with you he does include some cable keepers so you can attach onto the magnetic side and have cables stay in place the mini guy here can fit smaller objects so phone let's say you have a tool although i don't recommend you store it with microfiber towels lens caps and maybe your fidget toy have that all smacked in just like that it stays closed because it's got magnets embedded throughout the edges another thing you can just throw in your bag it's a really thick wool so nothing's going to scratch up on it it's got some impact protection as well and to open it it's super easy because it's just separating magnets but it holds everything in place without the magnets opening up by itself that's the same situation with the big guy here as well so fit a macbook your organizer maybe some additional accessories you want to carry with you bam close that shut stay sealed although it's a thick boy this is one thing that you can just carry on its own or again if your bag doesn't have a laptop organizer you can just throw this in as well and trust me this thick guy made of i think all wool it's going to keep it all safe the bottom doesn't open that's insane and it's just magnets too and then when you do want it to open it's just peel to reveal these are all handmade in brooklyn i believe so check them out if you like wool and if you like cool minimal looking sleeves some goodies that were sent to me from my good friends at nomad they make some of the best leather goods for like macbooks iphones and everything this one being no different this i believe is a mouse pad come on just look at that if you're a fan of halloween leather like it does not get better than this got a grippy rubber bottom it's kind of got some texture to it but damn this next one is a little bit bigger but as you can tell right off the bat it's all about that leather again and i love that they all come with these like cloth sleeves you can actually reuse them for a lot of different things oh man pulling this out the first thing you notice is the smell if you're a fan of leather that is the good stuff but holy cow look at that finishing on the edges super nice embossed logo on the bottom but oh my gosh it's got a magnetic top so finger space to grab it open and then i believe this one fits the 13 inch so take your macbook slides right in and then boop kind of hides away and your macbook is safe and secure in this the edges are kind of stiffened as well so if and when you drop this it will kind of give it some leverage above the ground reducing the impact and when you need it just like that bam one of the last items i want to show off that i recently picked up myself called suds to go and wha bam it kind of looks like a fire extinguisher but all blacked out so the idea of it is it's just a regular water bottle metal build it's got your regular pour out drinking spot on one end with a gasket there so no water leakage but why i really bought this was this canister at the back so this is a soap dispenser fill this guy up with whatever soap that you want to use and then so you have a push nozzle up here that drains out the soap put it on your hand and then you can also pop open that pour it onto your hands whatever soap you have and then have a washing hand station on the go with this station and this water bottle and you can actually i mean if you have clean water in here you can just use it as a regular water bottle so great if you're going on a hike or somewhere you know it's not going to be near a washroom or maybe you got to use the washroom out in the wild having a portable wash station and it's not that heavy either because it's regular water bottle and you have it's just the extra soap dispenser so the blackout finish is definitely my favorite but they do come
