Fender ‘64 Custom Hand Wired Deluxe Reverb Amp

ooh [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hi i'm jim with n'stuff music and i'm here today to do a demo of the fender custom 64 deluxe reverb the fender 64 custom deluxe reverb it's a 20 watt 1/12 guitar combo amp finished here in black tolex the speakers 35 watts as a 12 inch Jensen c12 cue speaker this deluxe reverb features a complement for 12 ax7 3 inches to 12 87 preamp tubes 2 6 v6 power tubes and 1 5 ar4 rectifier tube the reverbs tube driven and it's a spring reverb the amp of course comes with a 2 controlled tremolo circuits EQ for treble and bass and two quarter inch inputs to on the normal channel and two on the bright channel the custom 64 deluxe reverb comes with a foot switch and a cover the cabinet construction is all pine and the amp finally weighs in at 39 pounds you can find the same today at n stuff music calm okay and we're back after the specs and we're gonna start today by looking at the settings I had at the top of the video I had the amp right at the edge of breakup I had the volume on for the treble a little north of 6 the bass between 4 & 5 the reverb at about 3 and a half and I had the tremolo off so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna set it up first for a really clean sound I'm gonna take the reverb totally out I'm gonna set the master back at 3 I'm gonna set the EQ controls both at noon and here's the neck here's the neck and the middle [Music] here's the middle middle and the bridge [Music] [Music] finally the bridge [Music] next let's give a listen to the reverb I'm gonna start out really subtly just a little south of three [Music] let's go for a wetter reverb sound and bring it up to half [Music] [Music] [Music] take it up to about 7:00 see how extreme we can get with the reverb [Music] so even cranked up pretty high the reverb is very usable and the sound is still fairly clear it doesn't wash out and it's really warm and there's a lot of definition in it so that's really nice let's take the reverb back down to three and I'm gonna sweep through the treble and bass controls a little bit just so you can hear how that is bring the treble up back to the neck [Music] I'm gonna go to the middle of the bridge [Music] so if that trouble control cranked up you can get a really biting sound you know you can get a lot of those classic blues sounds especially if you push the gain a little bit and keep the bass down you can get a little bit of break up which starts probably around five so let's hear that a little bit [Music] [Music] then I can throw some reverb back in there [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you can hear I'll touch-sensitive the amp is super responsive so if I switch between my pick up my fingers as I was there I get a lot of different kinds of attack and just with my pick attack I mean I can go from really intense and I mean the wall he was pretty much been wide open the whole time you know if I really dig in and then just just this is just lighting lightening the pick attack [Music] and then if I manipulate my volume control [Music] I can get a pretty nice clean sound and then open it back up [Music] alright next we're gonna do is we're gonna bring the volume back down to clean-ish sound gonna chill that reverb out a little bit and we're gonna listen to the trim so I'm going to gauge that with the footswitch apologize for the hum these are real single coils so we get that a little bit here is the neck [Music] let's go for some different settings let's try for something really intense kind of almost like a square wave for a chop sound [Music] dime everything out see what we get [Music] try for something a little more mellow [Music] okay that was the 64 custom deluxe reverb from fender you
