mornings on two I'm Dave Clark I'm Allie Rasmus. >> It is Thursday June 13th. And we want to get right to that developing story we've been following since early this morning. A deadly crash in the East Bay, causing a big traffic jam for commuters on that freeway this morning. >> Now KTVU is Amanda Quintana is in Livermore. Now you have the latest details on what's happening out there. Good morning Amanda. >> Good morning. Yeah, just such an unfortunate situation out here on 580. We've been watching as investigators, you know, have been collecting evidence here. They've been measuring here on the freeway again, this is 580 westbound in Livermore. You can see the motorcycle. They're about to get towed away. The coroner was here just a few minutes ago and did take away the body in this fatal motorcycle crash here. So this is right after the Livermore Avenue onramp. Right now, it looks like they have opened up two lanes. There was only one lane open for a while, but it looks like they're opening up two now, still just a really, really serious backup. This could take a very long time to thin out. CHP says they'll be here investigating for at least another hour. But to get this all clear, it could take two hours. Possibly. They're doing measurements, taking photos of some of the debris here. Now we did just speak to the Pio, who told us that the man on the motorcycle was possibly in his 40s, and that man was driving the motorcycle between cars and speeding speeds of between 80 and 100 miles an hour, splitting traffic, driving recklessly for sure, at that point, we still have an investigation to do, but at some point, the motorcycle rider either hit a big rig and went down, clipped another vehicle, and went down, and then potentially got run over by a different, truck and tractor combination. >> Now, CHP says a big rig did pull over on the next off ramp here. They say there is a language barrier, so they're trying to figure out what that driver might have saw that they are asking. If you did witness this crash to call CHP and give them more information about what you saw. But again, this could take a very long time to clear up. We're going to send it back to Sal in the studio, who I'm sure has some ideas about other ways you can take to kind of go around this. >> Yeah. Amanda, a lot of people are using Tesla Road, which travels through the wineries there, and they're getting on Concannon Boulevard. And then they they're using highway 84 to get back to Livermore Avenue. Some people are using frontage roads here, but the backup is very, very long as you can see. And one of the things that I will say is that, well, you can see for yourself on the map, it is backed up big time all the way out to Tracy this morning. It just kind of melded into one commute, even though they've opened up a couple of lanes. If you can get your yourself on the freeway after Isabel anytime after Isabel, you know, let's say you go up to, you know, past the golf course or you want to get over to Santa Rita Road, that would be much better for you to get over to Castro Valley. Let's talk about some of the other commutes around the bay. The Silicon Valley commute is mild. There is some slow traffic there. And at the
