USC student arrested in deadly stabbing

The LAPD has just identified the US C student accused of stabbing a homeless man to death as 19 year old Ivan Gallegos. Take a look at the video. According to police, the stabbing happened here on USC's Greek Row just after 8 p.m. on Monday night. That's when they say Gallegos and two other male students spotted a transient breaking into their friend's car, which was parked behind a frat house here on 28th Street. The three students confronted him, and there was a fight. And that's when police say Gallegos stabbed the man carrying and using a knife that he had been carrying. The 27 year old transient stumbled away but died moments later in a walkway between two frat houses. As for Gallegos and his friends, they stayed here on the scene where police would arrest Gallegos on murder charges and bringing it back here live. Police say Gallegos has no criminal record and he is not a gang member. His bail has been set at $2 million.
