FASTEST TIME IN ARKHAM ASYLUM! [let's play.]

what's up guys Michael from halfway back with a brand new video uh today I wanted to try and do something that I've I've wanted to do for a really really really long time um so I'm a huge fan of the Batman Arkham games growing up I played them so many so many times uh one of the first walkthroughs that or just videos in general that I did on this channel was uh a walkthrough on Batman Arkham Origins uh I I love I love Arkham so much and the new Suicide Squad game is coming out tomorrow but by the time this video comes out it'll be out for like a minute so I wanted to go back and replay the Arkham games but I wanted to challenge myself a little bit uh because I have ran through these games so many times I've gotten really good at uh blowing through it as quickly as possible I remember there's one time I replayed Arkham Asylum and I beat it in in one sitting I was just just almost almost one sitting I got to like the very end and then I think I had to do something and then I went back and beat it so I I I I've ran through this game and Arkham City specifically I I know I can beat that game in like three hours I think I I think I timed myself so today um I've been wanting to replay these games for a long time but I've been wanting I've been waiting on it I've been waiting on replaying these games because I wanted to wait until I was ready to take on this Challenge and do it in one sitting I feel ready today I woke up I have nothing to do and I was like maybe this is it and I felt it and that's what I was waiting for I'm like this is this is the day where I I sit down play Arkham Asylum all in one go and time myself and see how long it takes me my goal is less than 4 hours uh I have I'm pretty sure when I did it before I beat it in like 3 and 1 half hours or something like that and I'm pretty sure that's got to be one of the fastest runs of the game and I'm also doing it not with like like the speedrun glitches that people will use or anything I'm not really all about that I'm I'm just running straight through normally just as like a normal play through but I'm just going to try and do it as quickly as possible so my goal is to get this done in under four hours uh I can't get up or anything I'll be honest one thing I'm actually kind of worried about is uh if the game crashes or if my uh OBS crashes those those are the two obstacles that I'm pretty worried about I'm not going to lie so I'm going to give myself an out if the game crashes or if my OBS crashes I'm going to pause the time try and get that figured out and then hop back into it because those are external factors I can't I can't help I can't help that but if I have to like go to the bathroom or if I have to go up and do something real quick I'm not going to turn off the timer because that's you know that's eating into my time that's that's on me but if the game crashes or OBS crashes is I'm I'm going to POS it I'm going to give myself that out because to be honest that's like the one thing I'm like stressed about I'm like I hope I have enough storage on my on my drive for this but other than that any other distractions any other any other things that come up doesn't matter timer keeps going also I'm not going to lie I'm pretty nervous because I uh haven't played this game in a really long time uh because I was waiting to do it when I felt ready to play it and do in one sitting so I'm really rusty so I honestly don't know if I'll be able to beat it as fast as I think I can um I think in my in my Prime Arkham days I could have knocked this out very quickly but I don't know I don't know if I'll be able to beat it as fast so let's let's just hop into it I don't even want to look at the timer I feel like if I look at the timer then it's going to just throw me off all I'm saying is an Arkham Asylum remake would go so hard imagine taking this game and then using the the same engine as like Arkham Knight or something yeah it would it would go so hard whenever I did the speedrun run this part would always just annoy me to no end cuz I'm trying to get through this as quick as possible but I literally can't like I'm just H I hate honestly I do not like this part anymore I it's cool when you first play it but it's just I want to get into the game so bad and I have to [ __ ] walk with the joker for 5 minutes all right now now the game started this is now I have to be as quick as possible what sketches me out about the Arkham Asylum speedrun is there are a lot of spots I still like lost in like the sylon gets pretty confusing to navigate I'm not going to lie so I'm I'm a little nervous about that do I have to talk to him I forget I don't know if I had to talk to him I think I could have dipped [ __ ] okay God damn it I do not remember which way it is is it this way yeah it is I'm not going to lie honestly this is a pretty smart plan from The Joker just to say [ __ ] it I'm taking over the Asylum you keep you keep taking the city from me but but I'll take the Asylum down just grapple up grapple up you [ __ ] idiot this part never made sense to me like he's right there you're telling me he you can't just grab him real fast are you [ __ ] serious I'm just so nervous I'm going to [ __ ] this up [ __ ] come on you don't want to punch me ah [ __ ] God damn it dude I I I'm going to die on the first boss fight never mind he's going into cardiac arrest I'm not going to lie it's it's starting to dawn on me how much of the game I I still have left I I still think I can beat it in under four hours but uh yeah I have a lot left I think my first or the checkpoints I'm going to use for this game are going to be the the Scarecrow fights cuz like like the first one I think takes place it has to be the end of act one right the other one's like definitely end oh [ __ ] God damn it that's that's 5 Seconds that's just five I did it again oh my God there's 20 seconds down the [ __ ] drain dude oh my God I I have done this way too many times I got to slow down oh almost [ __ ] that up I think the other challenge I'm going to set for myself is trying not to die I don't think I'll be able to do that one thing that this game is missing that the later games have is the [ __ ] knockout smash that would make this whole process go so much faster how strong is this [ __ ] guy to just rip off vent covers like that honestly I think that's why he has the most massive forearms compared to any Batman it's CU he's ripping Vin off all day oh [ __ ] oh my God I did not know those [ __ ] were even toxin getting put in too easy think about it all of them ah you see it you see it you see it right there I guess it's more obvious than I remember it being I I thought it was a little more subtle you what do you mean Jesus Christ first time I played this I remember I was stuck in here for like an hour before I realized oh you just have to leave so bad you're in my world now it's just so sick how do you not do that how do you not how do you not have one mission in Arkham Knight that's like this like you got to you got to be kidding me this is one of the coolest levels in any superhero game ever to this day oh my God I'm a [ __ ] idiot I suck at this game I'm so bad I don't know why I thought I could do this my biggest hurdle is Cockiness it seems that's like my first checkpoint point I want to see how far in the game I am officially 1 hour and 1 minute into into this game we have 3 hours left on this Speed Run um I I I feel confident still that I can get it done but um I I thought maybe I'd be there in like 40 I mean it's an hour makes sense an hour makes sense all right we're going to just speedrun Bane right now we're not even going to worry about the enemies that pop up they're not my problem I hope he doesn't kill me though I hope he doesn't kill me though oh [ __ ] why bro I didn't do anything to you oh that's a lot of Health taking off me definitely attempted murder but it's chill another little Arkham fun fact for you all you can see them slowly building the little Joker thing throughout the game and then by the end it'll be a big old Joker face isn't that neat I [ __ ] love how cartoony Arkham Asylum is it's the one Arkham game that feels the most like an animated series video game like if they said this is a sequel to the Animated Series I would totally believe it I'm not going to go to it but I'm pretty sure there's a killer crocky strike over there in that door another Arham fun fact for you picture of a dead baby is a threat go God damn dead baby is [ __ ] extreme dude I'm not going to lie joke about wheelchairs lovely she's more hung up on the wheelchair thing than a dead baby that's [ __ ] nuts honestly no way they see me they don't see me that's nuts CU they're so bad at your job all right I'm not going to lie this is my least favorite section of the game the Arkham mansion stuff it's just it's just so boring in here and it gets confusing it's just annoying I once I'm through the Arkham mansion part is when I'll feel more relieved God there is still so much game to get through I wouldn't say I'm starting to regret it but I'm definitely glad that I waited until now to do it because if I had attempted to do this any other time I I think this is where I'd probably be like you know I don't want to do this anymore I'm going to go I'm going to go do something else at one point today I was contemplating I'm like if I beat this fast enough and I'm in the mood for it I'm down to also try and run through Arkham City I don't feel that anymore I don't think I'm going to want to do Arkham City after this to the AR Library oh my god dude you just let him punch you I think it's up here am I wrong am I wrong okay I'm I'm pretty fast I'm not going to lie for being Rusty and not in my Prime I I beat this pretty fast I think I could honestly have only shaved off like 10 minutes maybe thanks everyone it really means a lot the fact that Batman was able to get up and power through that gave me way too much confidence as a kid oh my my god dude I don't if I die that's going to be so dumb let's go FAL fight holy [ __ ] okay okay okay it's 46 I'm at what time is it 4 hours and 20 minutes Jesus Christ dude if the power goes out right now if anything happens I'm going to cry honestly I'm going to cry I I firmly believe that Batman could have powered through the Titan transformation he he's that powerful when with his mind okay so I'm definitely going to die this fight's a little tough I I don't know why it's always tough for me but it is get down to your little [ __ ] it's just I don't want to die and then have to redo the whole fight again my heart's racing right now you have no idea come on come on come on cutting it right now I beat the game 4 hours and 30 minutes I'm done cut it cut it there cut it there the game's over I beat it [ __ ] this [ __ ] one sitting 4 and a half hours I'm so glad I'm done 4 hours and 30 minutes let's [ __ ] go I wanted to do it in under four hours I really believed I could do it in under four hours but I just wasn't able to 4 and a half that's pretty respectable if I'm being honest I I'm okay with that I'm okay with 4 hours and 30 minutes oh my God that is that's an accomplishment I'm not going to lie I have I have wanted to do this for such a long time years I've been talking about doing this and I finally did it and I'm I'm so happy I'm so glad to not think about it anymore because it's like I I just it's always been on my mind I might try and do another attempt at some point in the future maybe but not anytime soon as as from now I'm I'm okay with my four and a half hours and I'm glad that I'm I'm just I'm glad I finally did it I feel so earned now it's time for Arkham [Music] City
