FASTEST LEVELING GUIDE - Star Ocean The Second Story R Skill Guide

it's no secret that item creation and Star Ocean II story R is insanely broken and I'm going to show you what is undoubtedly the fastest way to get to a really high level in Star Ocean 2 seriously this method kind of breaks the game it's easier to do it when you have a little bit of money and SP but once you do yikes I will also go ahead and share a few other tips that I found incredibly helpful frankly it would take several days to cover everything that's an item creation that's kind of busted so this is really just a collection of my faves uh before we get into it I'm Solace this is Solace and Dread we produce analytical content as well as reaction videos primarily focused around Square enx Nintendo and Capcom Publications and a big thank you to Square Enix for providing us with a copy of the game one other thing we we do have a petition for the direct sequel for this game at Star Ocean Blu sphere to be remade on Modern platforms the link for that is in the description as well as the pinned comment for this video please help us make a remake of this game a reality now that we've got some general housekeeping out of the way uh the first thing you're going to want to do is get your replication skill decently high and make sure you buy a Magic Camera it would honestly bode well to build a rear let me demonstrate exactly what I'm talking about so you want your replication skill on at least one of your characters to be as high as possible just to give you an increased chance uh without having to waste too much magic film you can also use The Machinist skill to create the support item that will help you save some of your magic film in case you don't succeed in your item creation cuz you're probably going to be using replication the most and uh this is really really easy next you're going to want to make sure that your super specialty Contraband is at a decently high level without this being high enough you may not succeed in getting what you're looking to make what you're aiming for here is right there right behind my my head it's a the counterfeit metal that is your goal you want to make a counterfeit metal you only need to make one they're kind of tough to make through Contraband but that's all you need now this is a bit tougher to get higher because it's very expensive on SP and there aren't any books to help boost it but if you shoot for just one counterfeit metal you're good what this item does is it lowers the XP that's needed for a character to level up to just 1 XP so what you're doing is making these metals leveling up and then when you run low you just use replication to copy them that's it you can actually get a counterfeit metal just for reaching level 10 in replication but that is also very expensive if you're lucky you can get one just for using the Sprites bracelet that you steal off of filia in kurick before uh the event to make this even easier make sure at least one person in your party has a decently High scouting specialty you also want to make sure that you have the super Specialties Enlightenment as well as bodyguard so what this does is it'll summon extra enemies to come attack you and you'll get increased BP and SP also your party members will kill them for you without even having to enter battle so you can just run around on the map constantly level up your characters and don't even have to enter combat in fact let's try it and when I say this is broken I mean it this is broken let me show you counterfeit medals right now we've got 20 of them um we have the magic we have 20 magic film I'm right outside of a town so we're going to go outside I'm going to use this counterfeit metal on let's let's give it to Raina all right all right Raina leveled up go into items counterfeit medal give her another one all right you don't need to get in the fight all right she leveled up again go up counterfeit metal give it to her again all right just keep on moving all right she's leveled up again counterfeit metal Raina she's leveled up again counterfeit metal Raina she leveled up again counterfeit metal [Music] Raina she leveled up again counterfit metal Raina she leveled up again counterfeit metal Raina all right she leveled up again counterfeit metal Raina and note that I have not entered a single battle I it's it this is It's actually kind of silly all right so we're down to our last one so at this point you don't you want to be careful not to use your last one um so in a matter of I don't know how long was that 2 minutes I brought her up 19 levels she was level 70 when we started she's leveled 89 it's it's really that simple um and then uh once you're down to your last one you want to go to item creation you want to go to replication go to um where is it it's other yeah it's other counterfeit metal and now I typically recommend using Orchestra um that way you don't waste as much film here go and you just make a bunch more here goes and the Rica notice that the Rica is actually saving me a little bit of film all right so I ran out a film item count all that's 15 more counterfeit medals and it the cycle repeats itself this is kind of embarrassing when I say this seriously you can do this method and you'll probably have your characters up to level 100 inside of an hour now I do have to note that the counterfeit Metals stop after level 100 they don't work anymore but by that point you're pretty damn strong so it's not really going to hurt much also if you're a little strapped for cash in the earlier parts of the game and you need it to buy magical film and you know paper or whatever the case is you can actually just go into your skills and upgrade the skill Purity and it gives you up to 100K per character so that's a quick money hack another thing to help save you on your SP and a little bit of your BP is using the writing specialty uh what this does is it creates books that will boost up certain skills with without having to spend SP on them um so get somebody to start writing some of these books you can get each of these skills up to level seven basically for the cost cost of a fountain pen uh which is about 420 fall before you dump a bunch of points into your skills make sure that you can't write a book to increase it first in this case it covers fairyology technology Machinery Power Burst smithing keenai imitation knife which is one of the best skills for uh your characters to get 10 attack power per level so uh it it certainly is one of the most important ones performance Iration sketching it's just make sure you you use the writing ability first cuz it really is broken now there are a couple of other ones that are extremely helpful uh I've always been a big fan of Orchestra because it'll save you a little bit of time obviously you want bunny call because it makes traversing the map incredibly easy you don't have to worry about fighting any enemies come on bunny it doesn't doesn't like me very much come on bunny I don't have the music playing you can imagine what it actually sounds like listen I didn't want to play music because it makes it easier to edit this okay but yeah you can ride on your bunny you can find some sweet treasure up in some mountains and on some Ledges that you can't normally access so that's definitely something you know oh look at that there's a searing sword inside of a crater wow beyond that uh and this is kind of important because I know that it can be intimidating don't be afraid of just experimenting with item creation I gave you some things and like some tips to watch out for um and some things you might want to focus on just to help you give yourself a boost relatively early on in the game and make the grind somehow even less painful but that's really the biggest thing is just dive in um and don't just buy weapons from shops dive in and try making stuff it's it it's some of the best joy in this game like this remake is something absolutely special they made an absolute Masterpiece um a full review of this game is coming very very soon um as well as a couple of other videos around Star Ocean 2 but I am incredibly impressed with the work of gem drops and I really hope that they get the chance to work on Star Ocean Blue sphere R uh again the petition to have that made is in the links below uh in the description and in the pinned comment and again I I do
