Hello, dear friends. We are together in another video. We entered the video very fast, yes. Let me quickly start telling you the subject of this video. I will not describe a product in this video. I will make an application. As you can see, I removed the headlights of my car and I will restore the interior, the chrome plating inside. Why did I decide to do something like this? One of the headlights had rust inside there was a puddle of rust and this adversely affected the reflection of the headlight's light. I was getting a very faint, dim light from my headlight. I was disturbed by this, and I decided to renew the interior and of course the headlights had to be removed for this. My headlight is an old one. The front part is glass. Most often this is plastic at new ones. I guess these headlights were disassembled before because they are badly glued with silicone, they are assembled, and I really had a hard time when disassembling them. I dissambled one of the headlight as you can see, then I managed to open the other one with great efforts. Yes, as you noticed, the inside of this, is much brighter, the other one is much more matte. Because I demounted the matte one before and sanded the rust inside. Yes, this chrome one looks fine actually but the other one is unfortunately in a very bad state. I decided to renew both of them. Yes, the headlight was like this before as you see. Rust accumulated. Water got into it and stagnant water unfortunately caused rust. I will sand both of them, clean them, and coat them with chrome effect spray paint. Of course, sandpaper is important. But it is not a subject that I know much about. As you can see 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000 grit named different numbers of sandpapers exist. The textures of these are very different. If the paper's number is small the dots on the paper are getting harder. If the paper's number is large particle size is getting smaller. You get a more velvety texture. As you can see, I chose 200 and 600 grit sandpapers but frankly, I did not prefer it on purpose. I took initiative. If so, I decided it will be more suitable. I make the headlight dry first. I wipe it with a dry cloth. Then I wet it a little bit and first, with 200-grit sandpaper and second, with 600-grit sandpaper I sand it thoroughly. The inside of this headlight has already been sanded before but to make them shine at an equal level, I will do this operation to both headlights. As you can see, it is in a very bad situation. It was already bad, now it's even worse after sanding. Definitely the inside should be chrome-plated with spray paint, a process should be done. Yes, sanding the other headlight is also finished. It is also very dull right now. Not able to reflect the light. Since I will have to bond the glass and metal together later, I have to cover the metal surface with masking tape because I don't want to paint all over it. If I paint all over it, I would have to apply, I chose silicone, the adhesive to the paint. If I apply it to the paint, the glue adheres to the paint but I want it to adhere on to the metal. Because of this, with masking tape I especially protected the places where the silicon would touch. Yes, I quickly started the painting process. As you can see, I shook the can well and rigth to left, left to right I made a quick application. What you need to pay attention to while spray painting; We have to shake the can vigorously. Shaking is very important. In here, I cut the shakes a little short. In fact, at least one minute at a time I rinsed these cans. After applying the first coat, it depends on the ambient temperature but for 15 minutes I saw that it would be appropriate to wait. Then I went to the second coat of paint application. As you see, my hand is always moving and I'm starting at the outside of the field of application and again I'm finishing at the outside of the application area. Not stopping at all. I shake the can over and over again every time. I also pay attention to the distance. I take care not to go below 15-20 centimeters. Second floor is also finished. We'll wait for another 15 minutes. Now, the last floor. 3 layers, why 3 layers? I just wanted to. Really there is no specific reason. In 3 layers inside of the headlight will be completely covered with enough paint, I tought. I guessed. The last layer of the second headlamp is also finished. I'll wait for another 15 minutes and I will proceed with the varnish application. There is a very important point after using spray paints, We definitely shouldn't skip this point. I used the paint, I'm done. When will I be busy with paint again, I have no idea. It will wait a long time in my closet. So I flip it over, the paint inside, until the paint in the hose is completely gone, I spray. Until the propellent come out, I just keep going. Then I flip it straight and keep the paint like this. If you do not do this The paint can dry inside the cap, inside the valve, it can cause congestion and this causes you not to be able to use the paint again. Shortly, your paint goes down the pan. I immediately switched to varnish application. I apply the varnish in the same way as paint. From a distance. I start at the outside of the application area and finish at the outside of the application area. I apply neither less nor too much, eye estimation. Varnish has one small drawback. Because it's something transparent Have you applied to the surface, have you applied enough, Have you applied less ... This is a little difficult for you to understand. I did not understand much either, I just quit and didn't need more applications. I just applied two coats and to dry them thoroughly I opened all the windows and left them for an hour. We are now removing the masking tapes. Under masking tape we have protected the metal surface. I preferred silicone selaant here, to bond glass and metal. Of course neutral silicone sealant. What is neutral silicone sealant? It is one of these that have no scent. Transparent in color. Actually it's a bit blurry, not completely transparent. You know, there are also acidic silicones that smell sharp like vinegar. It doesn't make much sense to use them on metal surfaces. Neutral silicone sealants, odorless silicone sealants, those with a neutral pH much more logical to use on metal surfaces. Without overflowing, at enough amount, with eye estimation, I apply to all 4 sides. I close the glass part on it. I squeeze it well with my hand and I fasten it with masking tape. It is quite enough. I also apply to the other headlight. I bond its glass as well. Of course, I fasten it with masking tape so that it does not move. I kept it like this overnight. I mean 24 hours is a good time. Then I came to mount it to my vehicle. By the way, I changed the lamps too. There were halogen lamps before. I bought new led lamps. I changed both the chrome plating and the lamps. I think I will achieve a very good, very effective result. I screw on the headlight, I mount the headlight in place. Let's see how it looks. Wow, so good. It is very bright, very beautiful. Let's mount the other headlight in place. I hope it was useful. I hope you enjoyed watching it. You can easily do this at home, too. Thank you so much for watching. Take care of yourselves.
