i cannot tell you what an honor this is for me today i have always wanted to film at arlington national cemetery for my channel today we do just that we're going to take a look at the sites and some of the famous graves located here in one of our nation's most sacred grounds arlington national [Music] cemetery [Music] arlington national cemetery is one of the most hallowed grounds in the entire united states of america military heroes political figures heroes of national prominence and servants to our nation rest here in arlington today i am going to show you some of the sights and visit a few of the graves of national prominence the size of the cemetery makes it nearly impossible to pay our respects to everyone here but we will honor some of those who rest here and tour some of the grounds of this hallowed place spreading across 639 acres and the final resting place of approximately 400 000 souls so foreign [Music] president john f kennedy was born may 29 1917. he became the nation's 35th president when he was sworn into office in 1961. president john f kennedy was assassinated in dallas texas on november 22 1963 he now rests here with his wife jacqueline kennedy onassis who passed away in 1994 an eternal flame now marks his grave and unfortunately this was as close as visitors are currently allowed to visit you john fitzgerald kennedy do you solemnly swear hi john help do god so help me god and so my fellow americans ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] robert francis kennedy was the brother of john f kennedy he was a former united states senator from new york and a former united states attorney general he was running a campaign for president in which he had already scored primary victories when he died on june 6 1968 after he was also assassinated [Music] so um edward ted kennedy was a senator from massachusetts for nearly 47 years the brother of john and robert kennedy passed away from a brain tumor on august 25 2009 [Music] this is a memorial to joseph kennedy jr a brother to the previous three kennedy brothers that we visited he was killed in action during world war ii [Music] so [Music] so we now pay our respects to the soldier buried in the tomb of the unknown soldier since 1921 this tomb has been the final resting place for an unidentified world war one soldier from 1958 through 1984 other unidentified remains were added to the tomb the soldiers who stand guard at the tomb go through a very strict regimen and training the very disciplined guard marches 21 steps behind the tomb faces east for 21 seconds faces north for 21 seconds and then takes 21 steps back the very emotional visit to the tomb of the unknown highlights the honor and respect for our nation's precious fallen [Music] joe lewis was a professional boxer who was the heavyweight champion from 1937 to 1949 which was the longest reign for any champion in boxing history with an astounding record of 66 wins against only three losses he was honored with a postage stamp a large monument in detroit was dedicated to him along with a statue in alabama he died in 1981 of cardiac arrest [Music] william rehnquist was a former chief justice of the supreme court as supreme court justice he administered the oath of office to three different presidents he passed away in 2005 due to complications from thyroid cancer [Music] robert todd lincoln was the eldest son of president abraham lincoln he was an accomplished lawyer and served as the u.s secretary of war and was a u.s ambassador to the united kingdom mr lincoln passed away in 1926 in his sleep at his home in vermont his cause of death was listed as a cerebral hemorrhage induced by arteriosclerosis [Music] so william howard taft is the only person to have served as both supreme court justice and as president of the united states he was elected as the 27th president of the united states and began serving in office in 1909 at the end of his life he had suffered an advanced period of declining health he passed away in washington in 1930. so [Music] i do want to thank everyone for joining me on this very
