Not directly related to Alex, but it’s funny how this song was added into The 1997 Cinderella movie (the lines right before Alex sings is from that movie) for the sake of giving Bernadette Peters something to sing. It works completely in character though (how jaded and bitter but still focused the evil stepmother is).
I feel like Alex was definitely underutilized on the show, like many of the newbies. What was especially bad is that Alex is a Broadway baby and clearly loves show tunes. The fact that Unique was marked as a Mercedes copy hurt her range to being used mostly in the same vein (which I also think hurt Mercedes as well but like at least she was in her pocket genre wise).
