after spending the last week doing fall activities and hiking in the gorgeous state of vermont we've headed to the white mountains in new hampshire to continue our new england fall road trip and over the next two days we're road tripping all through the area to visit some of the most popular sites see waterfalls drive an iconic scenic drive and soak up as much of the foliage as we possibly can starting with a short hike up to artist bluff for sunrise [Music] all right we made it to the top it was about 0.5 miles but it was really like slick and muddy and rocky to get up here we're sweating so bad but check out this view [Music] this trail is a loop trail and you can continue on to bald mountain but we just wanted to see artist bluff and the quickest way to get there is to go counter clockwise on the trail don't expect solitude when you get up there and we hear it's even busier in the midday but man the views up there are pretty amazing [Music] next up we're heading to flume gorge which is a natural gorge that extends 800 feet at the base of mountain liberty it has conway granite walls that are 70 to 90 feet tall and 12 to 20 feet apart so a couple things to know before visiting the flume gorge it's a two mile loop trail and dogs are not allowed it also costs 18 per adult to visit the gorge which to be honest almost scared us away that seems pretty expensive but we hear it's worth it so i guess we'll see and we'll just hope for the best and you also are supposed to make reservations or buy your tickets in advance for different time slots because on a really busy day they can fill up [Music] [Music] we're in we're here at the earliest time slot there's a good amount of people here but you hear this is the best time to come to avoid a lot of crowds [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] about to enter the coolest part the flume gorge it is so cool it looks like a fairy tale there's just moss and green and really cool rocks on the river so far this is worth the money oh yeah [Music] it's just a big massive crack in the earth with water rushing through it so cool [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] this gorge just keeps going and going and it seems like there's at least 10 waterfalls in here this is just so magical [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we are officially out of the gorge and i'm pretty sad about it that was so beautiful and while i still think 36 is kind of a lot to do something that's out in nature i'm really really glad we spent the money and came here [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh we thought we were kind of done with the trail but there's just so many more things to see we're in this spot called the wolf stand you can go back in there a little bit i don't know if we will though oh there's like a ladder to get up there or i don't know [Music] we have a lot more we're going to see on our white mountains road trip but we hear it can get pretty busy here in the fall so we're gonna save the rest for tomorrow so that we can get another early start [Music] oh my gosh it is insanely gorgeous here we're just driving to our campsite for the rest today and we're freaking out at how beautiful it is but now we'll officially fast forward this video to tomorrow [Music] today our plan is to drive the famous kinkamagus highway also known as the kank this is a 34 and a half mile scenic drive that is named after cheap kenkamagus who was a native american known as the fearless one and ruled in the area now known as southern new hampshire in the 17th century the road started as two unconnected roads one in lincoln and one in conway and in the 1930s the ccc worked to connect the two roads which took 25 years to finish the road has lots of waterfalls hikes overlooks to see along the way and to start our morning we're seeing the sunrise at the hancock overlook [Music] [Music] so the cake is free to drive but to park at some of the overlooks and trail heads there's a 5 day use fee but it's free if you have the america the beautiful pass [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so far the drives mostly just been overlooks of the mountains and all of the insane fall foliage but what's really nice about these overlooks is that each one has a different view so even though you're stopping at overlook after overlook you get to see something different every single time [Music] [Music] [Music] our next stop is sabote falls and it's a quick 0.7 mile round trip hike [Music] oh wow oh wow yeah that's nuts [Music] to be honest i forgot what this stop looked like so i didn't really know what to expect but this is 10 times cooler than i thought it would be [Music] that's pretty cool [Music] this is so freaking awesome not gonna lie i kind of thought this would be like a really dinky waterfall stop but this was amazing it reminds me a lot of the uh the flume gorge yesterday it's like a mini yeah a free one like a mini version but still very impressive i just can't get over that this was here it's not what i was expecting [Music] [Music] we've headed just a little bit down the road to champney falls i hope i'm saying that correctly which is a three mile hike and i do remember what this waterfall looks like and i'm really excited to see it [Music] [Music] first up we made it to pitcher falls [Music] so this super cool waterfall behind me is actually pitcher falls we thought the other one was but there's a little side trail if you just keep going in front of the one we thought was pitcher falls we said this one this is just a waterfall kind of tucked in rock nook and this is actually the one that i saw on a lot of the photos so i thought this was champney falls so long story short we're really confused but make sure you take the side trail to get to this one it's so cool [Music] [Applause] [Music] if you didn't know pitcher falls was there you could very very easily miss it i'm so glad that we saw it went back there that was such a unique waterfall we now have a million steps to climb to get to the top of champney falls which i think is actually running right here but you gotta climb to get to the top of it [Music] [Music] we got to chimp new falls around 9 30 or so we didn't really see that many people on the trail until our way back and now the parking lot is overfilling people are parking on the highway so definitely get there early we have three more stops we want to make on the highway but after seeing how busy that parking lot was we're losing a little bit of faith that will actually be able to park this big bad boy brisket in any of the parking lots [Music] all right we got parking sometimes being really big pays off because you get special parking [Music] [Music] all right we made it to conway which marks the end of the kankamagas highway and cheese louise we are hungry [Music] in case you didn't catch adam's joke earlier we're at a spot called cheese louise this actually was recommended to us by a guy named mike who lives in the area and watches our videos so thank you mike we already know we're gonna love it but this place has a pretty cool history three college sophomores that were best friends decided to start a food truck a grilled cheese food truck in the summer of 2018 they said the movie chef inspired them which is one of our favorite movies of all time so we especially liked that part of the story and they now have locations multiple locations in new hampshire location in portland maine they've just kind of blown up over the past few years which is crazy because i'm pretty sure they're still in college so i got the blue buffalo which has munster cheese buffalo chicken thighs celery and blue cheese oh my goodness on a thick toast and i got the cheese of the day which is their grilled cheese sandwich of the day don't remember what it's called and i hardly remember what's in it but i think it has chicken i think it might have like an avocado it has like a cilantro lime type sauce and i think he said munster cheese and i got on the gluten-free bread i don't know it looks really good whatever it is mm-hmm it's basically like a buffalo chicken wing on a sandwich all the chicken is shredded there it's got a nice buffalo flavor but it's not overpowering a little bit of spice there creaminess of the cheese and the blue cheese also and then you get a little bit of pop of the celery to kind of freshen it up a little bit but then the outside of this bread is so crunchy and good oh look at the drip other cheese there this looks messy the sauce on that is the boss that is so flavorful very like cilantro and limey flavored the cheese is nice and gooey oh and the bread even though it's not like regular bread still has a good crunch to it [Music] [Music] we've headed north to crawford notch state park which is another beautiful area here and for our last adventure we're gonna hike the popular mount willard trail which is about three miles round trip for sunset [Music] [Applause] [Music] this view is epic [Music] we were driving that road earlier and now we're all the way up here this is wow the colors are incredible so yellow the sun setting and just lighting up the mountains in the back [Music] so we started around five we saw tons of people coming down and thought that was a good sign so we got up here and there was two or three groups up here but now have it all to ourselves i knew i loved new hampshire it's one of the places i was most excited to visit but it has completely blown me away so far the mountains out here are just stunning and the foliage i'm so happy [Music] we're gonna book it back down to the van and then we're gonna book it to our home for the night which is the walmart we're gonna try to rest up tonight because we've got a big hike tomorrow which is the number one hike we wanted to do in new england franconia ridge check the lighting he looks so good we have a lot more i wanted to say we could stay here all night but we always say that walmart yeah yeah true yeah and we're gonna book it to our home for the night which is the walmart [Music] you
