Faith & Obedience in Prophecy // Katia Adams // Vineyard Insights

so I've definitely learned some lessons in obedience as I brought prophetic words over people I think sometimes we see people ministering on a stage and we assume everything that they're doing is very easy for them and comes natural for them because you know if you're a minister that must mean that everything is easy when it comes to good stuff and that's just not the case at least it's not the case from my perspective whenever I'm feeling prompted by the Spirit to give prophetic words if I'm entirely honest my heart is racing my hands are feeling a little bit clammy and everything inside of me is saying play it safe don't do this especially when you're standing on a platform because then people are expecting a certain standard and then you're thinking I can't possibly take a risk but that's when we get it wrong when we shy away from taking risk because Hebrews 11 tells us God loves faith he's attracted to faith not to performance and sometimes we can be tempted to go for performance we can be tempted to think unless I'm guaranteed to get this right I shouldn't do it but that's misunderstanding where faith comes in because Jesus loves it when I take a faith step when I there's an element of risk where I don't know if I'm a hundred percent right but I go for it because that's where faith and obedience come in and so if there's anyone listening to this thinking oh I've got to have the guarantee before I step out in prophetic words you're never gonna step out on prophetic words there never is a guarantee the whole process is one of learning to listen to his voice and that takes faith that takes risk that takes courage but I found each time that I've stepped out the beautiful thing about listening to the voice of God even when we get it wrong is if we do it with the right motivation the presence of God becomes tangible so people feel loved and so really my story is even in the moments where I brought a prophetic word or word of knowledge and it is absolutely bombed there's been such a sense of the kindness of God the room because I've been able to communicate something of the heart of God even as I take risk and that's modeled something for people so they've been able to engage with faith steps in their own journeys without a sense of fear of failing because they've seen it modeled and so go for it if you're thinking about stepping out and prophetic words and you're just a little bit unsure my recommendation would be go for it once you feel like you've heard Jesus step out in faith what's the worst that can happen you'll get it wrong but you can still tell people Jesus loves you he wants to speak to you and I'm just learning
