Faceting for fun, a prism cube.

[Music] [Music] you I've got this prism cube that I'm planning on cutting you can get these on eBay or Amazon if it's six dollars and some odd cents for this one and what this is is four pieces put together with some type of adhesive but when you look from the side you can't see anywhere that's put together with four pieces but there's must be a coating I think there's a coating of dichroic material inside to make through reflections of the color I guess I'm not sure how it works to be honest but people have faceted this and that the colors amazing and hopefully I'll be successful because there's very varying opinions on how to orient this properly for the best color but I was looking around on the internet and I've seen this I've seen this type of orientation on the top and that that works pretty good I've seen the finished gem cut with this piece that's here on the top stick and I don't like cutting glass I wasn't going to cut anymore but I'm going to make an exception for this piece this is the design I'm going to use six main highlight d'azyr con design okay I've completed duck the dopping of it and I used epoxy glue [Music] so we'll let that dry overnight and get started the next day okay I'm ready to start cutting this six main highlights design [Music] well it on welding this dog [Music] [Music] all right I'm working on the mains I'm using a hundred and eighty grit lab here [Music] okay I've gone to the 600 lat and I've cut all the facets except for the girdle facets that's the last step on in this sequence of this design so I've left to let the culet fast it's a little short because I'm going to cut them in with the next pretty polish lap and get them right close but I sometimes if you don't watch it those small qulet facets like this you can over end up over cutting them so that's how we're looking right now working out cutting the girdle facets [Music] pree polishing is complete I used a 3,000 pre polish and an 8,000 pre polish disk so next I'm going to use Zuko diem oxide through the final polish [Music] this is final polishing I finished the gemstones pavilion some next I'll transfer to a coned op and then when once the glue dries tomorrow I will continue cutting the crown of the stone here the dock transfer has been completed [Music] okay I've separated the dock sticks and I'm ready to start cutting the crown of the stone [Music] my biggest start once again I'm doing the six main highlight zircon cut that's the picture of the image of the crown there I'll be using this set of angles and index positions 3742 48.9 22 hey I'm on the star facets I've cut the other three groups of facets working on the Stars now [Music] students really starting to spark on the play of color is amazing [Music] using the 3000 pre polish lab right now [Music] this material reminds me of Welo opal with all the play of color I finished polishing the gemstone I uses our corneum oxide [Music] okay I'm set up to cut the table right now using that 45-degree table adapter and I'll start with the 600 grit laughs okay I finished it and I'm going to take it off the dock [Music] where it does have a lot of color [Music] makes a pretty colorful stone just about rivals or maybe it's better than cubic zirconia even for brilliance and color [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music]
