f123 is fresh out of the oven and with it the most exciting time of the Formula racing game year to make sure your driving is not Half Baked we will show you everything you need to know in order to get your controller to working temperature everything about dead zones linearity and an all-new feature is coming up now when we present the best controller settings for f123 [Music] [Applause] and with that welcome back to overtake the most used wheel in the world is the joystick that was a wise joke from Orcs truly Champion Joe last year and he was right if you are an enjoyer of F1 Gamepad action then you should head into the options menu right now to see if you may have one or two settings wrong starting off with the overtake ERS mode and how to activate it you can find this in the generic controls menu ERS is what you may know as the small battery on the bottom of the HUD that gives you that extra bit of room there are two options here and one is clearly better than the other in my opinion standardly this is set to toggle which means you have to adjust your hand position twice in order to turn it on and off again not only can this cause issues but if you forget to turn it off you will use too much energy and be slower in the following laps therefore putting this on hold is the way to go as the name says you just press the assign button until you are out of your desired ERS situation and then you let it go small Improvement that may do a lot for you next up we will head into the calibration menu it is here where the magic happens go to a controller scheme and choose edit then go into set calibration menu and calibrate away using the button test feature here you can pseudo press your triggers or flick with your joystick to find the ranges on each of them there are three main options for calibration that are each applied for the steering braking and throttle category the dead zone is basically a test to see if your starting point on everything is really the point zero the easiest example to give here is steering if your flick your joystick a bit around to the left and the right and the eventual value is not returning to zero then you will have a problem which mostly older units carry what ends up happening is that you will always slightly steer into One Direction if that is the case then you should increase this value until the Test shows zero the same goes for braking and throttle if the values for Dead Zone don't compact to zero then you will always break a bit or have half a foot on the gas saturation is is saying how wide the range of steering braking and throttle is to find that out the test menu should show you a nice 100 or -100 on any flick or trigger press if that isn't the case once again add some points to these values until you max out on every one of them applies to all three categories the same linearity is the trickiest of the bunch this setting is more about feeling than anything else because linearity describes how much the steering wheel for example turns in the game compared to your input on the controller meaning an increased value here will give you some sort of resistance in game to make it harder to turn or break or throttle I would advise you to set the steering amount to something between 0 and 25 and the throttle and braking to around 50 ish this is a great way to gain a bit of the feeling back you may be lacking from being on Gamepad it's also super nice for lower speed Corners which you will have a few problems with navigating otherwise something they added this year is the steering raid option which is similar to linearity I would say steering rate tells you the ratio between the turn of the wheel and the wheels a higher value here means that you will have to turn in more in order to actually turn in honestly it felt pretty weird to play around with this value so either leave it at 100 or at 10 to harmonize with the linearity lastly I want to give you guys an important instruction to get the most out of the MFD there are MFD shortcuts you can use on controller as well so you don't have to fiddle around with it too much in the race and maybe miss a corner the most important settings for you are brake bias and differential and you have to be able to adjust them quickly if you want to know what they are and how to set them up correctly then let us know in the comments below so we can shoot you another short tutorial so what you will need to do now is go back to the settings menu of the controller where the buttons are assigned and put all the commands for the right stick out of order which would be the look around options at the standard configuration assign those to the adjustments for brake bias and differential to gain an extra Edge in the race and don't worry with mirrors and proximity arrows you won't miss any of the oversight you also won't miss any information about MotoGP 23 if you go ahead and click on our latest review right here thank you very much for watching and until next time cheerio foreign [Music]
