[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] hello and welcome to Changjo in southern Jiangsu Province it's a city located on the southern bank of the Yangtze River east of the provincial capital ranging and west of Shanghai and we're at the Changjo Olympic sports center Sinkiang gymnasium for finals day at the victor China Open this event is the third of three super 1000 tournaments on the new HSBC BWF World Tour which has made output 27 events consisting of five different levels of tournament ranging from the 11 super 300s up to the three super 1000 events plus the end-of-year finale the World Tour Finals in Guangzhou in December the China Open is the 17th World Tour event this year and it really is a global tour with events spanning right across the world from America to Europe to Asia and Oceania all culminating in the World Tour Finals in Guangzhou in December well as I say it's finals day today in all five finals for you this afternoon we're starting with men's singles from the Asian Games bonds medalist Antony Genting he's up against until the Moto who's in his seventh final in his 10th tournament this year there needs a normal Chinese affair in the mixed doubles in the world championship gold medalist shengshi way and one year xi'an up against the World Championship bronze medalist Jonny Lang an Asian way then it's women's singles in the reigning world and in pick and European champion Karolina Marin is trying to become the first European to win the women's singles title here in Jang Jo she's up against Qin Wolff a losing her fourth final this year but she's looking for her first title of 2000 and 18 then his women's doubles in the perfect scenario it's the world champions a Matsumoto and Naga Hara up against the Olympic champions mat-su toe bolt and Takahashi then we finish with men's doubles in the 2016 world junior champion and Jenn Kai and Jo dong in their first HSBC BWF World Tour final they're up against the European champions Kim Astrup and Una's Erasmus well with many singles been our first final of the day a chance for us to look at the race to Guangzhou standings and the current number to charity and Chen after his semi-final here we'll go up one place to number one on the list Kim to mimoto if he wins today will go up five places to number three if he loses today's final he will go up three places to number five Huntley hinting who's in the final today isn't even on the list but he's just outside he's number eleven and he if he wins today's final he will go up five places the number six even if he loses at today's final he will enter the top ten at number seven so as far as the many singles Gore is concerned from at a quarter final stage we had seven of the eight seats only to see not to make it through quarter final stage was the number one seed victor Axelson who lost to answer so seven seats and seven different nations represented the quarter-final stage by semi-final just three seats but four different nations and it's the tenth time this year on the world tour that we've had players in the semi-final of the many singers representing four different nations so the stage is set we're ready for the first of our finals it's the men's singles and Lee sin azĂșcar Genting up against Kim to LaMotta [Music] so the unseeded Antony city to come good meeting [Applause] the left-hander getting told I'm a motor come on who in less than a week's time will become the world number one the world champion I came to mom all day [Music] [Applause] well as the players get ready to come on to court delighted to welcome Steven Peterson former head coach of the Danish national team and the final lineup for today we could possibly have the winners [Music] [Music] well as you saw from the head-to-heads this is the seventh meeting between the two players kinton Mamata has won four of the last six but the last time they played was in the last 16 of the Asian Games to turn 22 next month is getting energy money what to do week to 13 but he has been as high as making his first appearance of the event here in Changjo and three of his four matches have gone the full distance including the first round against the six-time former champion Linden Dan then he beat Victor axel sunny in two straight games then the quarter-final against the four-time finalists and two-time former champion Chen long and the semi-final yesterday against Charlton Chen in a repeat of the a final semi-final I beg your pardon so now to Kento Amma motor turn 24 earlier this month and as I was saying next Thursday will become the world number one he's making his third appearance here at the events in Changjo and this as I said before is his seventh final in his 10th tournament this year and all of his matches on the way to today's final happy one in two more straight games including that semi final in a repeat at the World Championship final against she Eugene's trick and Cadabby he beats in just 28 minutes with the loss of only 20 points so Kento Mamata is in absolutely tremendous form we're his coach in principle trope [Music] nope now he has two coaches in his coaching bench juban on the right as we looked at them and your skin made a nice sheet I think was the other you young from China is our umpire male onion from Vietnam the service judge they're the magnificent trophy for the World Tour Finals the winners will receive trophies and like that trophies Indonesia play so the world champion Kento Mamata the number three seed here enjoying job getting this final under way Sal 50 event I seem to change his mind shuffle actually kick his racket but for Mamata this a xx career final and of the previous 19 he's won 17 he has a remarkable record in finals since his return from suspension really his National Federation for visiting and an illegal gambling establishment and since his return from suspension this is 16th tournament his 13th final 97 matches since his return from suspension [Music] see really since he's come back from suspension I mean he's he's almost been a different player I know he showed potential before his suspension but he's been outstanding yeah he hasn't he's sort of more or less extinguished his opponents apart from a few that has been able to give some resistance good shot there and sneak in Singh is one of them [Applause] tough loss beating Malaysia open we shouldn't forget Sameer Burma listen oh that's right it was in Germany it was in the Swiss Swiss open [Music] in my opinion these players have in common is that they're extremely fast in their feet yeah I think that's really necessary also excellent technical skills to matches getting place with more time we also saw in play in Malaysia lost in three games good fights two games two matches and a few nation games Team Championship and the individual tournament 15:8 did Anson again sing but eventually got it right in the individual tournaments very exciting it's the perfect round the hill smash down the line you know just inside the night a second consecutive super final of course he won in Indonesia and he won there's an unseeded to her player so here we are eleven weeks later having gone from being unseated in tournaments on Thursday he will become the world number one in just 11 weeks that's extraordinary fourth consecutive World Tour final of the ones that he's played men singing but is looking at now to see what we're going to do to him to mimoto just white well also this man Ginty is unseeded we should remember that he's played two finals in his career and he won them both the Korean Super Series last year and then the Indonesia most Masters early this year that was a super 500 event and on both occasions when he won those titles he was unseeded coaches started yes it's four years ago perhaps even five years ago nurturing these young Indonesian singles players getting yes he's on my list okay yeah and human and definitely paid off this summer the Asian Games [Applause] [Music] we can match not even met but he is perhaps even better then they came to my water in this flat game look at the poise and balance as he comes forward Genting I've seen that a couple times the Moors has already moved back [Applause] [Music] there's 32 shots and as usual I didn't pay enough attention as to who won the coin toss but I'm almost certain that gintink wanted and chose to start on the near side of the court that means that he will if it goes to three he will finish on the presumably worst side the far side of the court but that's the choice he made in both matches in Asian games chose to go for a good start both places he succeeded that's interesting that indicates that he loves to be a front-runner so to get a lead of presumably at the better end in the deciding game he wants to get a bit of a lead and rather than being a player that likes to come from behind pencil he doesn't want to start his opponent to feel good to get that head start himself [Applause] [Music] just give to emotional that many angles to work with gets below it but get really steep I was a little bit concerned because he's had a tough schedule up to this final Anthony gintink with Olympic champions and world champions and world tour number one when the ranking comes up next week but I also think tantrum over his is a little bit spent even though he's won his match is convincingly [Music] fast movement back gets behind it so he can create the angle across court motor needs to do needs to make the called wide so to speak got to use his cross smashes he often smashes mostly straight I think ginseng will close the straight one down [Applause] I'm very excited about the prospects of Anthony Genting after the first time I saw him the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing in 2014 we're incidentally he was Brahmas medalist could have easily blade that just inside the line as well so 10 all push as long so the world champion has a one-point advantage the knick game in two straight points but I wouldn't the final experiment ready to occur in map yeah yeah Kaluga Paulo yeah [Music] the pandemic Onaga you grab the container from the paso doble yeah [Music] his speed of movement sit back in quarters and it is absolutely superb from Mamata to cross mesh that's the first mesh there was really efficient it wasn't even particularly well placed but getting totally focused on the straight smash [Music] turn the rally around we didn't see it they're making more to scamper full diagonals of the court shot because it's somewhat Drex my mortar one step closer to the net then he would like to one of the things that the players can take from that that's a very secret defense is what yeah conviction was sound that time in Genting and it's the speed he can jump into it getting the placement with the shark attack he's challenging at the net mixing it up well by the clear doing long now far side of the court because if you've been with us earlier in the week although we've been talking about the drift it was a good decision to leave it it was clearly long we are pretty certain that the shuttle is flying faster coming towards antique endings end of the court as they're playing at the moment Charlie challenge and we were also talking a space thing about the possibility of subways plays a little faster wait for bullfights tell us for sure oh it's out by a whisker [Applause] taking from a mortar wins this first game it'd be hard for hinting to keep the hopes high in the second place the more difficult side of the court [Applause] hesitation when he had an opportunity to maybe make a kill early in the rally so surprised that had been a woefully short lived from Mamata he's going a lot for the back end side dig in things going a lot from all mortars back inside and I think he's got to mix it up especially from his own back inside yeah it's the short corner corner but mortar that's the target for these deceptions at the net and you can see that he's covering his long backhand because we're getting is putting some pressure on it so it's made to cover the full diagonal which makes it really really difficult the strings bracket I think he'll change rates upon drop unfortunate breakfast I was looking at contains fetus he was playing that smash he was on the double service line so it wasn't a particularly good lift from my motor this wants to try out the new racket courtesy amongst the place [Applause] Ray's ratcheting apology but badly deflected by the net cord seem to suddenly go and now totally different direction it's had a bit of luck there lately and a mortar first the broken string even before that that challenge that was so well it's basically the second in this four point lead [Applause] good deception that from LaMotta four straight points oh that was going out windstream [Music] fifteen bang he's also been mixing his tank up well getting body smashes cross smashes difficult for mortar - yes disguise that the disappointment [Applause] some people from the motel [Music] defense from Antony Ginty [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] points [Applause] [Music] [Music] good break down again Seng here mmm I'm wanting to test the new racket so who's gonna have the game point play wow this rally will decide it [Applause] [Applause] [Music] points Sin Eater parenting as a game point opportunity [Applause] [Music] by both players remember it's more difficult from water he can't play the backcourt with confidence drift what Oh [Applause] she was trying to take it early but still made the era so 2000 we will require extra points and tools are cleared to a point winning margin [Applause] so just having saved a game point [Applause] [Applause] and the keys to Hinton doing so well against mom also that he matches his net game absolutely more than matches it because he's actually slightly better [Applause] how on earth did he get those back that she's fantastic and in the end my Malta I think was so frustrated that the shuttle just kept coming back and back so second game point opportunity now for Antony painting [Applause] subway line [Applause] the same Riley [Applause] [Applause] was extraordinary look at that look at the defense and sterling kept coming back he had to dive in the end to retrieve that block and it still came back but there was no way he could get up dive position takes the opening game a swirling [Music] [Applause] [Music] holidays [Music] [Music] and speed what a thrilling opening game what terrific badminton ginseng the last level rallies nine to well in theory he now has the more difficult end to play from because he will struggle to control clears or lifts so he'll have to play an awful lot of shots in a downward direction does indeed [Music] he's quick enough to get down below the shots for all the lifts from water as we saw here the question is whether he will be able to through notes second game to try and attack it a little bit more and control the rally is a bit more that was what he lacked in Asian Games individual tournament they're getting it simply like a maniac on this side yes the same wind direction are you doubting the energy of this man due to the fact that of course he was in the final last week I mean he didn't get as far as he in the Asian Games obviously because he lost to a spirit of today but it's the accumulation with the team competition they're Championships before that winning last week his home event Indonesia open we have yep final in Malaysia but I feel that he played the best back mminton that I've seen over this period and and I'm not certain that he's some I'm actually certain that he's not a hundred percent against more so at the moment I don't think there's a lot of layers that are two big events to watch Championships and Asian Games they're all sort of bits of theater has he really had time to enjoy that became the world champion that's the issue preventing he's the one who sees a lot of action in this back inside but to recap a little bit of the first game what it is that makes Genting competitive against the Mamata compared to in the defense so he can prevent gentlemen water from continuing and getting bigger and bigger chance or eventually kill his attack good net game where he challenges Mamata and plays a lot of deceptions and the speed so that he can follow up almost anywhere on the court even when he plays his cross smashes and the water plays a good defense to be in position to play a good shot competitive against the promoter who's been so dominating against all the other players in the world sure you think 2021 is nature 22 in October do you think that when he gets a little more consistent that perhaps these two players maybe over the next few years reminiscent of the Lyndon Lee Chong Wei rivalry it's possible I think dancing meats thrifty conditions which is contradictory to the fact that he won in Korea last year because that's a very slow hole I'm not sure the field was as strong as it could be but that's not in reach so when it's not possible for the opponent's to play as precisely as they probably would like then it's a little bit more his pace and its weight touch shows how Wiggly dependent on the far side of the court more to quickly picked up on that and that made it of course difficult for him in the first game as we can see it's it's really difficult now for him sneaking tink kid tried to plank across long way he's got more people to work with but you'll play directly up in the forehand of water noise taken [Applause] there is just a tiny little bit of sideways drift rights left yeah longest rally of the match so far well last unseeded player to win the men's singles title at the jungle event four years ago linden on his comeback five Hey getting back to the Ginza no motor possible rivalry I think these tournaments the Asian Games this tournament here will help give painting confidence that he is actually top player if he's had a little bit more belief he probably would have taken that Asian Games championship I think he was the best player in the tournament eventually Jonathan Christy went on to win beating Chow in the final but it was skinned Singh who did the heart work who beat Morton chinlock yeah sawing the team tournament that their tension crept in when when he was about to capitalize on his this magnificent play and he'll three match points against tu tu in Chile lost that match I think you will be more confident coming forward here knowing that he's amongst the best [Applause] [Music] there's a camera lift nice [Applause] it's mash look how quickly he gets back was that the first sign of fatigue from a motor no I don't think so but it takes accuracy we've seen that also in the first game that when ginzan gets him to play get a motor to take the last half step looking forward to see them play each other when they're both firm close to hundred percent this is fantastic pavement and we're watching here yes we saw some good stuff in Malaysia also when they played each other point advantage i thought he may have touched the net on their earlier lift in the early Mamata no cool under happening of is a line jump [Music] yeah okay Republicans are blocking classic and apologize I'm gonna turn Darian method come on yeah the opposite door oh she's a this is yeah I know I'm sorry yes my best that was a the rally should not continue shut he though I win it or I lose it [Applause] Corrales well he's one - one of the photographer's - indeed they obliged last couple of rallies I thought Genting looked as if he was a bit fatigued yeah he's definitely yeah tired and I think he should be in a dialogue with himself as to how much more energy he wanted to spend playing the far side of the court because if he invests a lot of energy in it he might still end up losing the second game again it was all or nothing because look at his movement after he finishes the smash he is falling backward out of court Murata got that back he would have been left stranded his perspective I think basically he should cover the punish mashes and straight smash as if getting plays the cross matches let's follow up on the deck in C I don't think so I know him he came back from 1419 in the first game so yeah several of those in the opening game went up from around the head position 50 minutes into the match motor is signaled to he looking like an issue that he needed more fluid [Applause] well of course his attack is helped by hitting with the drift but it's got a quite quick movement and quick release with this racket so it's not too much to judge from for his opponents he used to judge what kind of smash in the direction it's coming Oh sounds good through the short swing low sniffing ugh in sync that's the way to control it [Applause] well initially I thought it may have been worth a challenge but no that clearly caught a line [Applause] [Music] me she's delivering the water that's actually not now you should be the referee [Music] I don't know why it's not loud at the moment early on coaching was not allowed to understand the intervals but it is so got deflected he couldn't do anything about it [Music] [Music] [Applause] that forehand at the net they looked at one simply anticipating amorta to play back and stayed so close that he had a really good position [Applause] pack level Antony Genting without wonderful defensive block he's tired revolta [Applause] that's 16 [Applause] [Applause] going over margin between success and failure at this level is tiny look at that [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] just above the floor that we place that little deceptive furniture [Applause] [Applause] while at this crucial crucial stage Angela Genting goes back into the Legion Buddhist thought has been in the lead in the second guy and one love [Music] it's great to leave that was the right decision [Applause] tense situation again both motor and Genting of course Oh two points away from title [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] then none of them are too keen to get placed on it [Applause] [Applause] the rally from the was extraordinary but the final cross-court attacking shot from hinting that was the one he came off the shaft of the racket editing [Applause] and sneak ending on the verge of victory back sabbatical Gavin oh gee exciting dynamic [Applause] match point unity [Applause] [Applause] his third title [Applause] [Music] [Applause] in a fledgling career that was absolutely amazing 12:16 [Applause] came back to win a 21-9 team [Applause] event that's been staged here inch angle since 2005 it is only the second time that a non Chinese player in singles but it's a second time that an Indonesian has won the men's singles following in the footsteps of sunny do you come Torah [Music] heeey go into the moment a big trick and he has confirmed his status as a force to be reckoned with [Music] in the men's singles discipline congratulated by his coach Henry support rollin well stained water match as we see confirmation 23 21 21 19 in an hour and three minutes that was fabulous that was a fantastic match and our welder sewed for Anthony Kim ting he must have been a little bit disappointed even though he got the bronze at the Asian Games he played so well today he sort of made up for everything by taking the title here in China [Music] absolutely fabulous when singles are fine all we have the prize presentation obviously coming up [Music] it's not only the title it is a very handsome to check seventy thousand US dollars for Antony Genting two by far his biggest payday [Music] possible sworn and sneakin ting he will go up five places to number six on the race to Guangzhou standings and he will be just one place behind into Mamata who will go up three places from eight to number five so the race to Guangzhou is really hot enough [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] to begin ting [Music] for Pinto the Malta final second best [Music] but the champion is Anthony cities of coke in tea [Music] title 2 to the Korean Super Series last year and the Indonesian masters this year [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] uf president [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] Oh TV one sells Artesia with [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] getting third career title [Music] [Applause] unseeded itself is a remarkable achievement that's one the biggest of them all so far the victor China open super 1000 [Music] [Applause] mr. Andhra coming up next is mixed doubles it's the world champions qianxi way unless you're up against World Championship bombs but this [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music]
