a spin there's a spin at Sergio Perez who did very well if he managed to avoid the wall no don't think he has because look at the rear wing of the racing point and Perez is out of this race Sergio Perez he's behind Kevin Magnussen there he goes sailing literally he's on the other side of the track it barely tickled the throttle did he coming oh they just have no grip at all this is the key coming in which team which teams are geared up to double stack close running drivers in the same team they're all coming in Martin 2.6 second stop time for Hamilton burbot ass getting caught out he had to stay stationary whilst other cars went past almost double the time and max Verstappen still gets out behind Valtteri Bottas has no damage done in terms of losing a place to the red ball a towards turn to but Ferrari winds down easily and the pro picking slow it down he can but really quick enough comes back onto the track stays ahead Magnussen by lose out he's compromised and now the got nothing to lose he doesn't care it's a couple of times now the Clare's got very very deep into the slow corners this time it's Hulkenberg who goes deep in the hope of getting a better amount of traction on the exit of it stays behind the Clare but this is a great scrap that's ensuing now between the other German runner in this race Nico hülkenberg and Sharla Clare yeah this is what Sebastian Vettel has been up to Robert kibitz err on the left-hand side Kimi räikkönen just ahead all and how did he not make contact there with Robert kibitz a fine piece of avoidance driving lando norris getting passed at the inside by Kimi räikkönen as well the three at the front are traveling much faster than anybody else especially limit amal turn so at the moment Magnussen's rather holding up this trio and that's helping Sebastian Vettel Oh is Kimi räikkönen struggling for traction there Sebastian feather alongside him into turn one this could be interesting as they concertina up Magnussen can't take it as fast as he would like to because he's on the slower tire Kimi räikkönen says thank you very much in deal I thought for one moment Sebastian Vettel was going to come out on top in this battle [Music] shall declare needed some very quick reactions to stay in this race there Martin dropped his left rear wheel over the curb on the outside that's the drag racing start line that is gonna first time we've actually had TRS of this race of this isn't it just how that will help max Verstappen and it's pursuit now of vows rewboss ass he's got a few more weapons at his disposal and he's having a look down there but he's got it all wrong because ball toss was there for the taking he thought and in the end the gap just went away from him and to avoid contact he had to go way deeper on the X on the apex than they would have wanted and look how bad as cos max Verstappen hello down is Carlos science and Carlos sites has managed to keep the engine running and that's down at that drag racing yeah yes trip again at the final turn he's done the same as LeClair nearly did doesn't he yeah he's gone on to that you know it's the skating rink the drag strip lucky to keep that going as well better than pits for slick tires they're in the clouds of the gods now if it doesn't rain they're gonna look very smart and they'll get up to temperature eventually as long as it don't fly off the road medium tires going on to the rebel not the softs it's the media to the end of the race there's a long way to go to the end of this race as a statment just bit off the track I said the spin technical issue though doesn't know it looks like he's just retiring from the race now we got a another spin in there watching know what will they do with LeClair and Hamilton when they come in you've got to put soft tires on from what we're seeing out there and LeClair picks now who are about to find out and strolls got going at South Carolina's police off tires for sure LeClair Hamilton continues to lead this race show LeClair is in second place at the moment and Charlotte Claire is going to keep that second place even after this pit stop because bought us of a staff and are just coming around the final corner now this could be interesting Tech is the virtual safety car ended just as Lewis Hamilton came in that may supplement that is a longer stop than you'd normally expect the Claire's going through turn 14 the right front was and we're coming now round old show the clans go down don't ride and got out LeClair has got into the barriers at the penultimate turn and second Ferrari in the space of two races here at the German Grand Prix has ended up into the barriers it was Sebastian Vettel last year it's surely clear this year and that car looks beached and his hopes of a great result this afternoon have slid away no grip really there try and keep off the curbs if you can oh yeah a tiny bit of understeer and now it's just gonna skate straight into the barriers it was it wasn't exactly pushing that hard it just snapped to the back he had to counter steer to turn into the slide now and I think Lewis Hamilton's gone off as well but he's carried on and he's lost his trembling hasn't he there's damage to the front wing certainly Hamilton went off at exactly the same spot as you can see managed to keep going our race leader now into the pits needs a new front wing Clark's box are lost quickly here coming it it you want me to yes Valtteri Bottas takes the lead on this race ready for him they weren't expecting you I didn't know it's happened they had no idea that is happened well they weren't ready for him because he's only come in because of that accident and I think now they're going to look to get maybe intermediate tires on as well that he's scrambling around all the while Lewis Hamilton's losing out but but that takes the lead vas tapper now goes into second place Holcomb burgers just pitted again and moves up into third place whilst they still work on the car of Lewis Hamilton who was cruising it seemed out in front but in one split second LeClair goes and Hamilton's chances of victory looks like they're going as well they've got to make sure they get the right tires on it then they're not but as his tires for example Rex they've got a mixture of tires on that car at the moment and then we got interest back on it now that's what they're doing they're changing their change their mind on the tires and of course when you've got to change the nose you can't use the front jack because the front Jack Jack's to a jacked up on the nose itself so Lewis skatey that is and just a little clout with a fiery buddy he had some momentum when he hit the barrier and now he obviously hasn't been able to go around to Pollock for to take a pause yep just thinking through yoga yeah I'm trying to think when Verstappen came in and put the came in whilst we were watching Lewis Hamilton the staff and slipped in and made his pit stop wasn't that timely pit stop for max Verstappen who a couple of laps before Hamilton have declared in their business had his own spin as well but Stafford leads them over the line then from Nico hülkenberg in his home Grand Prix running in second place valve Srivatsa started third is running third Alex album has Lewis Hamilton behind and then Carlos Sainz Sebastian Vettel's making a move on Pierre gasps he's gotta stay be her at the Red Bull for just a little bit longer and gazzis going to try and get some heat into those tires once again is Joe Byrne at sea now coming at Sebastian Vettel and Dani create and then we've got Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean scrapping away in the two houses right at the rear of the field as well onwards down towards the hairpin we go Verstappen Hulkenberg bot ass alban's sites thinking about a move on Hamilton is he going to go down the inside none of this occasion pedals going to look down the inside on the beard gastly there's a five-second time penalty for Lewis Hamilton for going the wrong side of the bollard fatal gets past the gastly and makes his way up into eighth place gazni just past him that's why so he's got that position back again and it's also not getting any better for Hamilton in the stewards room potentially as well because he's under investigation once again the stewards the drivers have a lap that they must adhere to Hamilton's gonna have a go on our bond is he just a bit too far back on this occasion we'll switch through and take that very tight inside light out of the hairpin Lewis Hamilton getting past Alex Alvin been held up by the turret row so going will to wear that then a head is now built robotics right on the tail of Nico Hulkenberg as well bots on Nico Hulkenberg to the hairpin down the inside hülkenberg gives that one up doesn't really fight it such was the pace difference between the Mercedes and the Renault there is the reto of Nico hülkenberg and he's ending his home Grand Prix in the barriers and another car in the barriers at the final corner oh what a race this is that'll be another safety car there that's exactly the same situation he's dug a hole like he's building a sand castle on the beach on Sunday afternoon that's just plain understeered off hasn't it let's call him out and he actually hitting the brakes was worst thing he could do at that point we've got a gambler on slicks who's that stroll long stroll they're gonna be watching the data there to see if it is good for slicks or not there but they might as well take a gamble he's down 14th place look at the difference in the tyres let's helping out the snapper but Hamilton in a bit of trouble here and Ali Salman will go round the outside Gaussian sights waiting behind sites goes down the inside now Wilson will wins Lewis Hamilton Albano's lost out Kelly's waiting out there going in science can't quite get past the Mercedes Hamilton matter that some kind of issue in turns two and three because that pack was right on his tail the time he arrived at six Sall the inside of Alex our bongos pick Ashley and this time he is lighting up his tires as our bond goes wide and from forth Alban is all the way now down in seventh place of mate that eighth as Sebastian federal gets past him as well [Music] and the staff and then was first of the frontrunner to go with this Lynx and there's a whole lot more coming in on the slicks as well Hamilton has stayed out and leads this race räikkönen stayed out fettle stayed out jovanotti stayed out there the top four for stepping back on the track again now behind stroll stroll is up to sixth place that's troll I think might now as Hamilton bits as well throw leads be leading the race the gamble of racing point has put large stroll into the lead of the German Grand Prix with Verstappen right on his tail they are cheering in the grandstands because they could see what's going on here Danny crea is running in third back out on to the racetrack Hamilton now down in 12th cuz cause he had to serve a five-second penalty yeah if it could go wrong has gone wrong so far for Lewis but at least he's still on the track and Verstappen has retaken the lead from long stroll al example of a slick tire getting round P a gas leak caused his gastly white and does a very nice move indeed to take seventh place down at the hairpin create by the way on the soft tires just setting the fastest lap of the race the app will have DRS the rear wing opened the big letterbox in the rear wing opened and he sails past in the Toro Rosso Honda and that is a fight that Lance troll would like to carry on for a while but it wasn't really a fight that he was looking like winning cuz the Toro Rosso looks a supercar at the moment sites flying along nicely as well keeping up with POTUS who's closing in on the racing point of stroll someone's got off and it's Lewis Hamilton who's got off at the first corner manages to keep the car going but now only has the Williams of kibitz are and Russell behind him he's turned in and he's gone round his amazing that didn't make the barriers wow he's just got a little bit wide and touched the wedded part of the track it's not often we see Lewis making mistakes like that that's a driver error running sunny you could say after Silvester last time out but neither of them have listened to the words of Gupta Steiner in the build-up to this race they managed to connect twice on the opening lap in Silverstone and safety car there'll be another safety car here total wolf bangs his fist on the desk in front of him as fast robotis pushing hard to catch Lance troll has spun off into the barriers and this 200 Formula One Grand Prix for Mercedes is what they will want to forget in a hurry the foot is flat here he goes replicating when Pablo Montoya from 2005 going from 20th all the way up into second place from front row to victory and victory to win the German Grand Prix and its final words and flames from max Verstappen the winner of the German Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel from 20th to 2nd and keep the applause going for Dani create a third podium in Formula One well done to Toro Rosso and to the Russian commiserations to Lance stroller racing point that is an excellent result for them their best in Formula One it could have been a podium so their strategic move of the race though racing point well done guys amazing stuff Mercedes celebrated at their home race and in the end sorrow so Ferrari a Red Bull stops the juggernaut that was Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton max Verstappen Sebastian Vettel and
