hey guys welcome back to my channel for those of you who haven't been here before my name is lori hill and i make videos about plastic surgery my goal is to show you that beauty is attainable it's also to lift the veil of secrecy that surrounds plastic surgery because everybody deserves to feel beautiful if that sounds good to you please subscribe today's video is not my usual video because i'm thanking you guys for a hundred thousand subscribers i seriously can't believe that my channel made it to this many subscribers so quickly and i just want to thank all of you for giving me a platform you guys i do look funny a lot of you are probably thinking wow you look weird well i do look weird i'm really swollen i did have my own plastic surgery three weeks ago and i'm still recovering so what i had done was an early maintenance facelift yes face lift i know a lot of you are probably a bit confused because i really didn't have a ton of sagging skin or tissue on my face but i did have areas where i was bunching especially when i spoke i noticed this area right here and this area is called the nasolabial folds and the marionette lines and i also noticed that i had some jowling starting for those of you out there who have the same thing and aren't bothered by it i encourage you to continue not being bothered by it but for me it was something that i really wanted to do and i wanted to do it earlier than when i really really needed it you're probably wondering why didn't you just wait i mean we could have totally waited for this video but the thing is i know a lot of you are going to have plastic surgery and you don't have the luxury to wait to go back to work like i do i want to encourage you guys to not be scared to go back to work so i decided if i'm encouraging you guys to do that i better stand up and do it myself my doctor told me that in about one month's time i should look not so swollen so it's been about three weeks in general when you do get a facelift the recovery time is about two to three weeks but i also had fat transfer to my face and when you add fat transfer that really tacks on a few extra weeks of recovery so right now what you're seeing on my face is fat transfer in this area as well as under my eyes and i believe a couple other areas on my face you may be thinking wow you really look strange talking yeah i do look strange talking the reason is because i have pretty deep swelling from the lifting that was done as well as from the fat grafting so when i'm talking to you guys i actually do feel that i have to push a little bit harder to make expressions this is completely normal and should be completely resolved in about two months time but in the meantime there is no way that i'm gonna miss all those videos that i could be bringing to you guys so as long as you're okay to watch me i'm definitely okay to be here so in honor of my hundred thousand subscribers i asked you guys to ask me some questions about myself i took the most popular questions and i'm going to answer them now if i missed your question please feel free to ask again i'm going to be doing another q a probably in a few months time this video is going to be a lot more casual than usual i'm going to be reading questions and answering them on the fly the first question is has it been too much to deal with people hating for you telling the truth it hasn't always been easy for me to deal with hate it was really hard in the beginning of my channel to deal with it but i have learned some tools that have made it a lot easier for example i really try to consider the source usually hate comes with no profile photo and really no context as to who they are now if i knew for example that they were somebody i really admired then i would really take it to heart there's a saying that goes if you wouldn't take advice from the person that is insulting you then why would you take their insult next question you talked about how you were into acting back then why did you leave how was your overall experience when i was pursuing acting it was in my 20s and i probably wasn't the best actress i mean i could have worked year after year on my acting gone to auditions but in general it was something that i just loved doing but something that i wasn't necessarily very good at so i really considered that another reason i left l.a is because i noticed that little by little my female friends were moving away getting married and having lives i looked at the actresses who i met in la and a lot of them were single with no kids which is completely fine but i just wanted a different type of life i wanted to be married and i wanted to have a child one day and i just wasn't sure that the la dating scene would really produce that i guess the overall feeling was i felt like i was wasting my life away so i really needed to make a change next question asks is there any further plastic surgery that you want to get the answer to that is maybe i have thought about getting my lip lift scar revised next question asks is there any surgery that you regret yes there is definitely a surgery i regret and that is my first nose job so had i known everything i know now or even a fraction of what i know now i wouldn't have went to that particular doctor i would have researched for a couple years and then went to somebody who strictly does noses next question tell us about your husband and your kids and your age i have talked about how my husband's a dentist and i was a dental hygienist and i still have an active license that's actually how we met he was looking for a hygienist and i applied for the job back in the day there wasn't really much fuss about dating your boss but even so i kind of felt uncomfortable and i think he did too so i ended up finding another job after we started dating we do have a four-year-old son and he's amazing and the light of my life out of all the things i've ever done having a child is the best thing i've ever experienced for now i'm going to leave some identifying things out of my answers and i hope you guys do understand that what surgery was the most painful or the hardest healing process in your experience i think my chest augmentation you guys understand i can't say certain words because i don't want this video demonetized but when i had my chest augmentation i felt like it was a long healing process like it was definitely a month or more of not being able to raise your arms my chest augmentation just wasn't the experience i hear from other people how theirs was next question asks what is your favorite physical feature about yourself and what is your favorite non-physical feature about yourself i love this question my favorite feature is my eyes even though they're just a regular brown i think they're pretty expressive and i do like their shape and how long they are my favorite non-physical feature about myself is my resilience i'm a very strong person a lot of times i think to myself it's really a wonder that i'm still walking around and alive today because of some of the experiences i had back in the day but because of those experiences i can tell a lot of you that you're gonna make it through how did you develop your philosophy the plastic surgery is something that should be disclosed by celebrities this philosophy that celebrities need to disclose their plastic surgeries wasn't something that i started out the channel thinking the way i came to it was because i started to read some of the comments that you guys left me the emails the dms telling me how much you guys all suffered because you compared yourself to that celebrity growing up and how it shaped the way you looked at the world now society tells us that if you're affected by what a celebrity looks like then it's your own damn fault but you know what we don't live in a vacuum the things people do affect us and the more i thought about it the more i said what would be the huge loss and a celebrity saying thank you i've definitely had a little bit of help what does it take away from that celebrity to say that you know what i don't need celebrities to list everything they've had done i don't think any of us do we need a tiny bit of transparency of them giving that little bit of a hint that little statement by them would create such a ripple effect in the self-esteem of our young people the question also asks how did you arrive at such confidence to feel proud of your surgeries and feel comfortable talking about them making this channel in a society that demands these things stay secret the thing is i'm not a child being a grown-ass woman i just kind of thought like who cares what people think whenever someone a society a culture demand that you stay quiet question who that benefits i love this next question what is the trait or feature that generally people find unattractive that you find attractive hooded eyes hooded eyelids are so beautiful they're mysterious and they're just so interesting to look at and i think we can also call it the mono lid i have such adoration for the mono lid um especially studying kpop celebrities i think the mono lid is beautiful next question asks how did you develop such a thick skin and at what age would you say you felt truly confident i feel like i'm still developing a thick skin even though i care a lot less what people think i'll tell you when i wasn't confident um all of my 20s i wasn't confident and so i just have to laugh sometimes when people say that like your 20s or your high school years were your best time hell no and for the young people watching this your best years are still ahead of you next question asks how do you deal with anxiety before surgery how do you stop obsessive thoughts about something going wrong honestly i have had obsessive thoughts about things going wrong more since i've become a mother because i always think like what would happen if something happened to me i would feel i mean now i would feel because i would be gone but like you i don't think that these thoughts are out of the ordinary general anesthesia has come a long way i think the odds of having a successful surgery are definitely in your favor now if you're worried about something like the outcome of the surgery not going well if you're unsure about your doctor then definitely wait on that surgery because it's not good to be that scared that's like your intuition telling you something but if it's more of a generalized fear i think it's important to go talk to a therapist or talk to a friend or a loved one somebody who supports your surgery not somebody who is against it and is going to tell you to listen to those fears it's normal to feel fear but if you've chosen the right doctor if you've done your research more than likely the surgery is going to turn out good what do you think about the trendy big behind with all that transferred fat i'm trying to think of a tactful way to put this when i was really young the trend of having huge bazoombas like pam anderson was really in style and i was definitely affected by that trend i did have chest augmentation i didn't go crazy but i definitely went a lot bigger than i would have nowadays it's important to question a trend i'm not so sure if somebody came to me and asked me if they should do it because it looks good to them right now i would ask them to take a step back i do think trends go in and out of style and somebody said this i forgot who it was oh but they said that all it takes is for drake to make a song about flat butt girls for a flat behind to become trendy when it's very trendy i just encourage you to take your time and question it if you were to travel anywhere in the world where would that be there are a lot of places i still want to go first of all i'd love to go visit the ukraine i was born in kiev the former ussr that is probably in my top five of places i want to go i want to go to italy we went to paris on our honeymoon i want to go back there the caribbean like somewhere in the caribbean go to australia seriously this video is not long enough for all the places i want to go how did you get into dentistry okay well first of all i'm a dental hygienist um i do keep an active license but i'm not practicing right now my husband is a dentist i personally never wanted to be a dentist but i liked being a dental hygienist i wouldn't say i had a passion for it i think that the thing that was missing from the profession for me was creativity i really love being creative so i love this platform because you guys allow me to be creative if there is a need for me to go back to a traditional job i think that i would go back to my last job which is real estate i think i'm kind of an extrovert and i did love meeting up with people and helping them find their dream home have any of the celebrities you analyzed contacted you and what did they say no they haven't but you know what if a celebrity did contact me and wanted me to take the video down i would there's probably a reason a celebrity hasn't contacted me first of all most of my videos i think all of my videos are really positive because i truly do believe that they were beautiful before and beautiful after and i don't prize natural beauty over surgical beauty i think they both have their merits if a celebrity has seen my video and they haven't contacted me i think more or less it's because my videos are pretty positive what makes people get addicted to plastic surgery it's actually two really big things the first one is when you get one surgery and it looks really great and so you want to keep doing more and more stuff and so you get addicted to that surgery high the second reason you get a surgery and it looks really really bad and you need to fix it and then you start fixing and fixing and fixing and the way you view yourself changes unfortunately instead of seeing yourself for how you really do look you start seeing something else and when that happens it's really important to stop having surgery it's really important to go to speak with a therapist sometimes that's a sign of having body dysmorphic disorder would you recommend traveling as far as you need to for a specific surgeon or stay close to home for convenience or safety i would 100 recommend traveling to see the right surgeon there are very few amazing plastic surgeons in this world and more than likely they're not in your hometown so whatever money you need to save to accommodate yourself while you're traveling needs to be put aside as well as the cost of surgery one reason that i believe my first nose job didn't go well is because i wanted convenience i was a student at the time and the doctor who did my nose who no longer has a license so don't worry he was in my hometown i did what was convenient but now that i know better i do better and that's another reason why i have this channel so i could show you guys how to do better how do you deal with hate or people misinterpreting your words on youtube okay let's talk about the elephant in the room the k-pop hate i think a lot of the people who left hate or wished bad things um didn't actually watch the video i'm not sure my words were being misinterpreted in that scenario but in general if my words are misinterpreted i often think it's because people are purposely misinterpreting my words because i come from such a positive mindset that i try to always put out positivity because that's what i see so if somebody's actively misinterpreting me i've kind of stopped explaining to them in the comments because i can tell they're purposely doing it now back to the k-pop situation the fbi was amazing i was really impressed with them they checked out every single thread and we were able to know if they were serious or not and none of them were serious it does seem like it was a bunch of kids and i know that i worried some of you by posting one of the threats on my insta stories now that was not a cry for help what that was was to show you the extent of how far people will go to defend their idol from something that isn't a bad thing like plastic surgery i know you guys are probably asking will i continue with the k-pop series we're gonna continue with that series we're gonna keep going because if anything all of that hate taught me was there's a huge wound that needs to be healed and i think by talking about possible surgeries that k-pop celebrities get it's gonna help people i did take a pause thinking about whether i should keep going with k-pop but emails poured in from young girls in korea in the us telling me that they've been comparing themselves to idols and that my video made them feel better next question asks who do you look up to i'm a huge gary vee fan i actually had the opportunity to meet him in new york and he is a really great and humble person watching gary and listening to him was my push into getting into social media i started first on instagram as a fashion influencer but i noticed that i didn't really feel like i was helping people and that's the reason why i got onto youtube so i really love gary i think he's got a lot of great things to say and he's very helpful with dealing with haters i'll link him down below i also really love eckhart tolle i love his book the power of now and i love his other books too what is your heritage i am russian i consider myself russian but i was born in a former ussr in kiev ukraine my parents came here with literally zero dollars in their pockets we were told we could take nothing what are your thoughts on non-invasive plastic surgery do you think it's better than having invasive surgery no i don't i think non-invasive surgery a lot of times will end up being more expensive more painful than just going the invasive route for example the non-surgical nose job i've talked about that in the past that can get really expensive really fast especially if you're going in for that filler to your nose every year or every two years filling up your jawline creating features that weren't meant to be there with filler can get really expensive really fast you may want to try it out one time with filler to see if you like the look and then go for the facial implant another non-invasive thing that's done is skin treatments promising you to have the same results as a facelift we need to talk about that because i feel like there's a whole industry that preys on people who are scared to go under the knife and a lot of times you're chasing a result that you can only get through having surgery what is your favorite street food i feel like it's the taco like any kind of taco i love i don't eat beef but anything else is fair game do you speak another language yes my first language is russian how would you describe your style i just like cute tops you guys i don't know i go by the kibby body typing system it helps a lot and that's spelled k i b b e i'm a kibby type dramatic classic if any of you struggle with how to dress your body i think this can help you a lot i don't ever look at myself and think i have great style there are some influencers i follow for their style i don't feel like i'm an inspiration to anyone i'm gonna leave off on this we all have days when we feel a bit sad maybe a little depressed what do you tell yourself on those days to overcome that mental state i love all sorts of motivational quotes but the one i'm really into right now is this one and so this one's by michelle obama when they go low we go high you can play in the dirt with the pigs or you can rise above it and for the most part i try to choose to rise above it next video will be on kim kardashian's body procedures and hopefully that'll be out next week i love you guys so much thank you for watching and i will see you in my next video bye
