Exploring the Somali Food of Chicago at BULSHO

[Music] hey [Music] [Music] these things they're fish based it's like a crispy exterior i haven't had the inside yet though it's really hot that's delicious the fish is really spicy but it almost reminds me of gefilte fish um in flavor filter fish is what i have on passover so there are some bits of onion inside as well with definitely some chili flakes and chili seeds or some sort of pepper um the fish is flaked and they have some sauce in it as well little pockets of goodness i'd almost say maybe there's turmeric or maybe another yellow flavoring yeah something else is in here that's really delicious this is absolutely wonderful there it is so we have grill top chicken is how i would describe it if anyone knows the formal name for it let me know there's some i don't know if those are jalapenos some sort of pepper onion some carrots we also have the spicy rice which does look like it was probably cooked in turmeric given the color and then on this side here we do have salmon um and then it came with some lime that we can squeeze on top of it and then over here is some spicy hot sauce the chicken has would you say it has a peanut butter flavor to it there's a deep umami flavor to it yeah there's some like warm it almost tastes nutty to me it tastes really good the rice isn't as spicy as i thought it was going to be the rice actually incorporates there's a i think the carrots bring in the sweetness from the chicken that's really really tasty um the flavors are just really well balanced overall some of the best rice i've had oh this is really good yeah you want some hot sauce sure this is supposed to be really spicy that's got some zit zip two zippy it's very zippy [Music] that's really good it's earthy that's all i got okay bye
