Cavendish opened in 2019 number six Cavendish quickly gained a stunning reputation among cigar connoisseurs for the the incredible quality and range of the cigars they have available plus of course the sheer luxury and sophistication of the superb premises itself and it is now widely regarded as perhaps London's Premier bespoke cigar sampling Lounge founded by husband and wife team AJ and B Patel no strangers to the cigar world having opened the UK's first lacassa Del Habano 15 years ago number six Cavendish represents a true Haven for cigar enthusiasts with a sensational team of Highly knowledgeable cigar samay always on hand to advise and assist as you select a great cigar to sample in the comfort of their beautiful sampling Lounge accompanied perhaps by a smooth single malt or a fine Grand reserver rum from the comprehensively stocked in-house bar I have been so looking forward to returning since my last visit and I'm genuinely thrilled that AJ and his eldest daughter Rea who manages the day-to-day operations of the establishment have so generously offered to show us around not only the famous sampling Lounge but also the two enormous walk-in humidors the private Cedarwood keeps and of course the VIP room so join me as we step inside and experience the legendary Hospitality of number six [Music] cabish AJ Rea K so nice to see you welcome to London yeah welcome to London it is so great to be back at the shop I mean the legendary number six I mean this shop I think represents so much of what I love about London which is that you know that cigar retailing at that highest level that true luxury experience that people come to London for and uh you guys have such a beautiful shop so I'm excited to see it today and for you to show us around the old English style cigar Merchants you know and we've we've got everything here we you know deliver everything that cigar lover likes loves as well and we have all the accessories as well with it uh some of the finest hardest items to find yeah I see you know one of the LA blue uh kasak kubana Series right there you've got another extremely hard to find La blue right here the World Series yep the World Series is only 45 Med in the world really okay yeah and the kasak kubana there's only 199 yeah the kasak kubana is like on my my bucket list you know once I get the children through college you know they' be going by that try well they do one every year and that's what's fun about you know the yell BL in a different color in a different color well this is I mean this is really the culmination of what has just been 30 years I mean not just but you've just celebrated 30 years correct of you know really really um you know innovating yeah uh at the Forefront of kind of London retail I mean first with the paper shop and then with Broadways I'm correct and then the first lacassa de Habano ever to be opened in the United Kingdom 2008 that's right uh we've had that for 15 years now um and we're still going pretty strong with it which is fantastic and now we have number six c number six which is yes the current the highest manifestation 30 years of dreaming absolutely yep uh and obviously you'll see the range of cigars we have thing will blow you away yeah and the the bar we have to accom the cigar sampling that we have which is just fantastic yeah and so what's unique about this is that um in number six is of course you have some of your personal collection here which of of which you're legendary for um and uh so we'll get to the cigars here because it's a rabbit hole that I'm sure we may not climb out of today you will not once we're in it hours and hours of good chat but you also have a sampling Lounge which is important here in London for customers to be able to actually sample a cigar that they're purchasing or considering purchasing have purchased corre and might be considering for a full box or corre just experience mhm MH and it works really well just like walking into the fine wine merchants and trying some wine out and the buy a case yeah you know so we come in the same category which is exactly what we've delivered here yeah yeah and we look forward to showing you our sampling Lounge well I want the full experience which means that we must first stop at the humidor come on in then the first stop you say the first stop yeah the first humido the first other we have a we have a secret vault well yeah uh without uh you know imposing myself you know love to see the humidor we would love to show [Music] you [Music] wow well I can see why number six is particularly uh you know well regarded by The Connoisseur of Cuban cigars because I feel like I'm in a candy store yes oh yeah and not just any candy store but a vintage candy store as well I mean this is amazing correct I mean you we have what we have on this section here we have your first releases limited editions your Regional cigars uh cabinets that's been discontinued um and vintage vintage cigars and when I say vintage we've got PARTA CD number four from 1995 uh we have Monti Christal Sublime from 2008 um but I know there's a cigar that you do love from our last visit well there's nothing on these shelves that wouldn't indulge even the iest of Cuban cigar smokers yeah cigars are there to be shared you and if you don't share it we can't talk about it well this is one of the things I've always respected so much about you AJ or should I say admired and respected uh is your passion for Cuban cigars but your passion for sharing that with others and so you know there's a lot of collectors that hoard and you know don't necessarily you know you know their cigars just don't see the light of day corre you know but here is your collection that you've been collecting over your you know 30 plus years as a collector of Cuban cigars absolutely opening those boxes which people are even more reluctant to do yes and Rea loves it because you know her palette is vintage cigars you convenient when are we going to open this particular box up when are we going to open this box up I we always open a vintage box we'll take two out for us so we can sit down and enjoy yes the family commission yeah it has to have his perks absolutely yeah and talking about the cabinet withd that you like is the Bola Corona gigantis cabinet of 50 this is from 2006 uh discontinued no more made but if you look it and whilst I'm opening it you can smell it Kirby smell this this is tobacco chocolate it's like this is Willy Wonka's Chocolate P here I mean so this is from 2006 2006 yes look at those Beauties oh my goodness and discontinued yeah yeah box of 25s dress box of 25s are can discontinu you yeah and Cabinet of 25s as well the only thing better than a box of 25 is a Caba 50 and a cab of 50 of these beautiful boulevar Cora gigantes is you know now it's I mean it's a unicorn I mean you just don't see these no you know and to to offer our clients per stick I mean they just love it yeah they just love it you and it's like I mean you have what looks like to be the entire lineup of large format cabs of 50 right here yes you know we have the lonells from 2001 discontinued the partos lonells can I see this like this is another one that's a very slender cigar the lonell itself has been discontinued completely as well again oh look at this very unbanded meig this is whenever you know that you're really in vintage cigar you know Heaven yeah yes and we don't call them unbanded we call them naked naked okay wow even better oh yeah yes naked cabinets amazing absolutely yeah oh yeah and this is a drop in the ocean compared to what we have so these always changing okay so it's never a fixed selection you're always kind of mixing it up always so if you're in London and you come to number six there's always something new always to discover I mean we even today we added two boxes a punch double Corona oh look at this so as Rea said it's not just a punch double Corona Kirby not just not just just to let you know the punch double Corona we have not seen for a long time um this particular punch double Corona is from 1995 okay so this is like I said not just a dou coroner so we we open this we opened this up last week really yeah a box of 25 top layer nearly gone and we got 12 more underneath look at the wood grain on that c oh it's beautiful is it now just smell this w when you smoke this cigar it's literally white pepper with your cinnamon nutmeg and that spiciness it's it's a journey I don't know how one journey I mean I don't know how you bring yourself to e open these boxes to be honest I you know I guess every every every month the bills come around it's like you know H I don't know she makes me she come on Papa we need a we need another box of something what do you have but what's fun about this is again just seeing the history of the different bands yes the box designs I mean this Evolution over havas's history uh is just so fascinating me oh it is something else and something super super rare which I'll show you reord just hold this is um is it still here what you looking for the coffins oh I think they're gone oh they've gone so I'm sorry yep come quick oh I mean this is the reality what some of these vintage cigars is once they're gone think gone they're gone they gone and so even just come and admire the boxes yeah um you know this I can't think of anywhere else that you can go and find you know such a broad selection of vintage cigars available to be seen in the in the humidor corre correct and not being boastful um we are the only cigar merchants in England that has the variety that we can we've opened up and offered our customers by Sticks yeah I mean of course London has such a rich history of incredible cigar Merchants yes but you know other than standard production it's always been full box quantities yes especially for the Vintage and rare stuff uhhuh uh-huh and you know the way the market has gone is there are more cigar lovers out there uh that are willing to try and want to try the cigars that they can't get a hold of and they don't want to buy a whole cabinet but what we don't do in here is if someone comes along and says oh my goodness you have a Corona gigantis can I take the whole cabinet we will not allow that no we will restrict it yeah because we want other people to try it as well you know and that's uh that's the beauty of sharing yeah absolutely well what uh shall we sample today ah so I know you like your bolars um but obviously it's early afternoon yeah so um we have a cabinet which matter of fact there's one in here but the one I have in the vault at the back is an H Magnum 50 mhm which cabinet of 50s are discontinued okay they only make them in 10 and 25s so the ones that the the cabinet I have open at the back is from 2013 okay okay 10 years as of this year mm so it's lovely aged 10year old cigar H up the Magnum 50 have you tried it before uh I have not have you tried a magnum 50 before yeah but not a 10 10 year plus no yeah and then we we offer as well a 2009 this is from 2009 this is literally vanilla honey and honey correct look at the oils on this wow I mean look at this and again I love the evolution of the cigar I mean it changes so much yes as it ages yes and this is just aging Perfection wow this is glorious yes people don't realize that the the upman family is the lightest blend that Cuba made okay and makes but the potential of Aging is for 30 40 years plus really and it just gets better better we have some old Dunhill Dunhill selection supremos cabinets from the ' 60s when you smoke these it is like literally smoking honey phenomenal but just being here and seeing the collection is a joy and a treat yeah I'm glad I'm glad you just stopping in I mean it's it really is a candy store I mean between all of the beautiful kind of smoking cants that you have out front yes it's a candy store I mean it really gives one something to uh to dream about and then coming in here and seeing these incredible cigars and seeing the scope I mean you've got the books you've got the grand reservas you've got the reservas you've got I mean boulevar gold medals the new release I mean those aren't even like you know out yet you yeah well they are they they are released now are they they released now oh yes they are released but we try and control it because we just get calls can I buy the whole box no you can't you know because there's not enough stock the first one I've seen outside of the Havana Festival okay no I remember them on the table I know well it was a line I couldn't wait in I think we were in the same boat there yeah talking about that we did a we did a cigar night with AJ where I did a history of the B gold Med ball gold medal M so we have the original from 1984 2000 uh 1984 uh 9798 2007 and this so we have the whole the whole selection well I've had that the the pleasure of that uh oh you've seen that lineup and again that speaks to you know just the depth and the breadth of your collection so I can give you a choice of two okay okay I we can smoke the Magnum 50 from 2013 or you can smoke a boliva pety Corona cabinet of 50 discontinued uh yeah like you said I like I said it's a petty Corona size um from 2011 but another beautiful cigar you know let's see that you know look at this this is a beautiful yeah it is you know Boulevard is my first love so since we're doing this together for the first time good choice if you wouldn't mind no smell Curby smell this I believe me oh wow cab are 50s which age very very well very well you know c a dress boxes age well but Cabo 50s phenomenal well shall this be our uh our Delight for today yep let's go in go in the lounge in our sampling lounge and Sample this Bola P Coronas from Cabo 50 and let's enjoy it I'll leave you to enjoy Rea thank you so much on the cigar we will you're here what every day every most days that's right well you do you do an incredible job here thank you very she can't smoke these cigars without me here I don't know when Dad's away you know the will play oh yes I'll follow [Music] you [Music] wow well this is uh appropriately placed in front of the sampling Lounge the the third experience wow you know so we this is a collection look at all those bottles how many is it I have no idea do he changes hundreds quite a few yeah we specialize in the your high-end whiskies your Japanese your rums and we do amazing as well and what is the cocktail that is your signature uh cocktail signature is chocolate old fashioned which you must try well this is a true Indulgence today oh yes absolutely yeah shall we go through to our s amazing [Music] kobby would like to sit down thank you oh wow I feel like I'm sinking Sinking Deep one of the things I love so much about the sampling Lounge is how well it's appointed I mean yes you know when you have when you're sampling a cigar you need comfy chairs you know that's the whole joyous of it well the Ambiance you know certainly elevates the experience yes yes exactly even though we're sampling so listen shall we just get straight to it please because I can smell these cigars I want to cut the cigar for you there you go check the drawer first I always like checking the drawer it's what we call a cold a cold drawer uh so you can taste the flavors before you light it so you can taste the the age of the cigar you got this tobacco rich chocolate flavor before you light it yeah and that particular flavor will go and change once we light the cigar I love hearing you walk through you know it's like a guided tasting oh absolutely and that's the whole beauty of it the journey where a lot of people cannot pick up the KN of the the flavors of cigar and when you helped them and they go okay yeah you're right it is like a chocolate flavor you know if if I say to you it's like a 75 80% cocoa chocolate flavor you go oh yeah it is plus the up ones that we were talking about you know that you've got your milk chocolate yeah much lighter and there's a there's a difference there well bolars we know they are a spicy cigar well what a pleasure to be lighting up with you AJ absolutely yeah looking forward to it I want to use a soft Lan same this is the sdun gold Des I treated myself to uh to commemorate my first trip to Havana for the 2023 Festival The Havana what a beautiful lighter to have it's where we first met so yeah and I've got the um the C s Pont they only made a thousand of these come with the kba cter which somewhere at home you know what a pleasure to finally be lighting up with you here and I'm you know I'm glad Rea couldn't make it because that means I would have one less in the cabinet that's I'm sure always a little bit of tension there oh you know yes I know that between Edward and Eddie it's much the same you know Father and Son father and daughter yes yes absolutely and you know it's one of those uh elements of again retail here in London is that tradition a family following isn't it their parents into the business and it really speaks to the dignity that retail is given here in London yes 100 100% you know since rea's joined the business it's been Joy you know and NAA keeps saying to her as well you know what now I could not do it without you and I mean it 100% would you ever feel outnumbered between your wife and your daughter now 100% two against one it's I'm sure they're teaming up on you all the time you know what it's easier just to say they're my bosses you [Music] [Music] know that is amazing well this is why one comes to number six to s exle is uh opportunities like this beautiful cigar the power in the cigar is still there and I reckon this cabinet 2011 is still got another 30 plus years to go that's what I find interesting about the petite Coronas generally speaking I don't find the boulevards as strong as their reputation um kind of leads them to be um with the single exception of the PE Cora which is still a very Punchy very strong blend very and although this may be small it packs a punch o it lingers in your mouth longer than certain certain Petty coroners MH like the poor laaga you taught me how to say that word that was a tough one that's a tough one screw your nose you know so the poor laaga leaves the on the palette the creamy notes but disappears very quickly with this you don't have to take lots of Puffs to keep the flavor on your palette you still got that spiciness with tingles on your tongue and after retrohaling you can you can taste and smell the espresso so when you have a really good Italian espresso it will leave you this 95% cocoa chocolate and then slowly disperses into like a cappuccino creaminess it's still there it's it lingers lingers lingers and your tongue starts literally jumping it's a beautiful yeah well AJ thank you for this we shall enjoy this over some more conversation thank you for coming and U you know this is another great example of what I love so much about a great cigar and that is the opportunity to spend time with great friends and today in the beautiful sampling Lounge of number six so AJ thank you for this Kobe more than welcome and I'm glad to have you here just a one of one of many moments oh absolutely and believe me we got a lot more cigars to explore are there mirrors in there or is that
