Exploring a 13th-Century castle with hidden tunnels!

so we're here this is the put into a pretty awesome little kayaking river which obviously we know about because of that but having spoken to one of the locals on say locals I mean someone that lives in a house in the hills over there they told us the real remains of a castle is just up through this way apparently there's some tunnels and stuff so I've bought me the torch but yeah it's not looking very well written I do with it and things like that and can't really find out much about it online so I thought discriminable up even though it's too low which is why we're looking for the castle instead it's still going up a quick look at the rapid company oh yeah this normally clears up just over that rock there beautiful 15-foot drop or whatever it is that one discussed in there I wouldn't do that one that's the castle over there that big fluffy green thing so if I can point it out that there's the tower still intact there's a moat this down here so this was 13th century built I think and then it was recently upgraded in the 15th century when they rebuilt it oh ho ho ho oh well this one's not very big it's still pretty cool I think this is the one we read up about and this was actually a an ice store so this is like a you know a 13th century fridge or 15th century I don't know I'm not a historian but at some point that was how they did fridges doing a big hole in the ground and it was called an ice store I think Gordon to Wikipedia anyway glass their mistake felt awesome it's not the biggest castle it's pretty cool would you look at that obviously time for the big lamp woo button this is a bit sketchy actually oh I think this one's caved in oh actually now it's to be honest I think this has been filled in as a lintel there that's her obviously it went that way at some point because there's a lintel across there which is obviously supporting the roof so it's been down here and that way yeah yeah interesting well I can't see if it goes anywhere pretty cool though but be cooler if it wasn't filled in but mine so although the tunnels seem to be all blocked up that was three one of them was this a nice store well three that we found anyway one was a nice tour one was a I went nowhere and everyone also went nowhere but they looked like they went nowhere because someone's filled up in but another cool fact we heard was the woods so the castles just there these woods here apparently every time they've won a battle whichever country it was that they want to battle in whether it was a crusade whatever it was at the time that plant a tree in this wood here from that country so there's a lot of trees that are not native to the area so we'll just go and see if we can find any I guess we'll just look for trees that we don't recognize so I hope we're not being a bit stupid but this tree doesn't look particularly and you know from round here as such especially considering we're surrounded by beach and birch and oak and then there's just just random one here just not quite right for kind of look somewhere between you and Douglas fir so this is a pretty interesting one I think it's just like a really really misshapen beech tree but it's still still and also what's worth noting is that there is an awesome waterfall perfect oh that rock turns out it was very slippy with a wet foot oh so even though the tunnels were a bit blocked up and what we'll get into is going to come back another point tomorrow or whenever it may be and try and find the exit to the tunnels just I suppose just by kind of getting but yeah be awesome if we could find there for you ever end of them and maybe do a bit more research see if we can find more than one paragraph on Wikipedia and yeah awesome good way to spend a morning dog walk
