EVs 'electrify' Alameda waterfront with massive expo

San Bruno. From cars to scooters and even surfboards, you have the chance this weekend to test out all kinds of different electric vehicles. KTVU James torres shows us the electrify expo in Alameda. We're standing near 1,000,000ft!S of all electric fun. And if you want to check out all the expo has to offer really all you have to do is show up. Alameda start your engines quietly. It links at you guys. Check that out. The electrify expo is showcasing a new wave of technology for its third year, its first time in the Bay Area. This is 1,000,000ft!S of all electric fun. Full festival fun for all ages. The cars range in all types of models from Teslas to retrofitted Porsche's and a new three row Volvo Ex90 SUV. So this tells you the actual dimensions that you'll find inside of the vehicle itself with height of the trunk space and all the room that you need in the back. There are bikes, motor cycles and scooters, the variety is what brings people from all over to check out the expo. Okay, this is more than cars. This is good. More than just one thing. My daughter's in the market to purchase a new SUV. So coming here to check it out and almost everything you see, you have the chance to test ride. That was a little taste of the future. Woo Electric appears to be the future. The federal government has a roadmap aiming to have 50% of new cars purchased to be electric vehicles by 2030. By 2035, the state of California wants to be at 100. People need an opportunity to see what it's all about. Like you see it on the freeway or on the highway. But if you've never been behind the wheel of an electric car or electric truck or on the saddle or seat of an electric bike, this is the place for you to actually experience it, to kind of get it.
