app auto-added social media proof videos how good is the new i take it with me wherever i go camera really and what are its advantages over its predecessor and is it worth buying i took the pocket 2 and what does it actually have to do with a banana well not the color no it actually shares the banana's weight therefore it is not only a small but also a relatively lightweight device that you can pack into any bag pocket or backpack visually dji did not really change the osmo pocket 2's appearance a lot it still looks pretty much like its predecessor the colors the materials the general look even there is a small display [Music] as well as a micro sd card slot [Music] necessary buttons for turning the camera on or off nothing new or mind-blowing here the small touch display allows users to not only check and adjust the camera angle but it can also be used to change settings or enable one of the plenty of modes or functions the display is bright enough to be used in summary surroundings and the touch function works flawlessly no complaints but also no major news so far [Music] if you feel like the built-in display of the pocket 2 is too small for you then you can simply attach one of these absolutely miniature adapters to the pocket too and they are available for both ios and android devices and then you can take your smartphone attach it then open up the app and you will have the full control over the pocket too on the smartphone it's a very fast and very efficient process and now i have a really large display i would say [Music] the dji memo app is powerful it not only enlarges the screen no it does so much more you can enter all functions and features through the app auto edit and share your works or update the osmo pocket too before we talk more about the app let's instead focus on what's most important about the pocket 2 the level of stabilization and the camera what sets this small camera apart from others is its level of stabilization [Music] pro level stabilization is something that dji is really good and experienced at [Music] here's a comparison an up-to-date iphone versus the brand new osmo pocket 2. by the way the iphone uses digital stabilization without it the comparison would even look crazier digital stabilization cannot dethrone dji's physical stabilization but another major downside of digital stabilization is that it reduces the image quality noticeably and that is why the dji osmo pocket 2 looks so much better [Music] the osmo pocket 2 records clean 4k footage the results look convincing 100 megabits per second capture enough details for crisp results but the small camera does not only record in clean 4k no no it can also record slow-mos with up to 60 frames per second in 4k and we all know that slo-mo's turn even the most boring footage into exciting looking content and if you want to create super slow-mo's just switch to full hd and record with up to 240 frames per second the hdr mode of the pocket 2 is disappointing it is not available in 4k and it also heavily crops in and what's most unfortunate is that i cannot spot any extra details both in the shadows and in the highlights when filming with the hdr mode compared to the standard mode if dji does not fix this with a future firmware update then i can only say that the hdr mode the way that it is right now seems totally superfluous the motionlapse function is also worth mentioning it combines a standard time lapse with gimbal motion you can set the path that the gimbal moves manually and the results then look pretty stunning actually super cool clips for social media [Music] of course the osmo pocket 2 can also take photos and the system got another sweet update isn't this a pleasant and sharp photo how do you like it but actually this is just the fragment of a photo let me zoom out this is the actual photo it's a 64 megapixels photo super duper sharp the slightly enlargent one over 1.7 inches sensor makes it possible of course the osmo pocket 2 is packed with fancy photo modes as well it can take high-res panoramas for example fully automatically whether of a landscape a city or a group of people it is fascinating to watch and the whole process takes only seconds the algorithm then even automatically stitches the single photos together and it actually does a pretty fine job usually you really don't see the stitching lines audio is underrated pretty much always a video can look super nice but if the audio sucks then well your audience will probably not enjoy and skip your video nobody likes to watch a video with poor audio and in times of vlogging audio has become more important than ever the major disadvantage of the predecessor was the weak audio quality whenever a wind gust hit the microphones or whenever like some background noise was audible the microphones were really struggling now how do the new built-in microphones of the pocket 2 sound like you guys can determine it right here and right now the thing is that the pocket 2 is so small and lightweight it has a 4k camera it's fully stabilized and if now the microphones the inbuilt ones if they now do a good job then i can tell you this i'm really going to pack the pocket too and i'm just really going to bring it pretty much everywhere wherever i go it's so nice to have like a very well functioning vlogging camera always ready at your fingertips you guys determine how well the audio quality sounds like put it into the comments below the video by the way i am heading straight towards a major street it's right in front of me right behind that street is the main train station of the city of mainz in germany and it's it's it's quite noisy here another significant upgrade the osmo pocket 2 got is named active track 3.0 you can select a person or an object and the osmo pocket 2's camera will automatically keep it in the center of the composition it works flawlessly and is such a helpful tool for vlogging or filming others that i cannot say it often enough how useful i think this mode is active track 3.0 works by the way much better than the previous version the gimbal tracks more precise than ever and pretty much never loses the object it is tracking the osmo pocket 2's battery does a good job though not an outstanding one it lasted more than two hours during a continuous filming test that i performed under normal circumstances you'll probably be able to get through a full day of filming with only one single charge you
