Everyone Needs To Watch Beastars

I want to say that animes been on an upward trend last year is all right there are a couple bangers but I kind of felt like it didn't start picking up to later half the year in fall right after that in winter 2019 we got shield bro we got promise Neverland kagyu sama I'm still not gonna watch that girly [ __ ] the mob to der Rohe spring 2019 massive disappointment but we got Demon Slayer and a second Titans kind of good again what summer 2019 a doctor stone fire force of inland saga all really fun to watch but very few new anime are ones that I randomly think to myself damn that [ __ ] slapped the shield rose and doctor stones are pretty cool but they're also like Zach Galifianakis if you ask me hey you exact Galifianakis I'm gonna say I [ __ ] with Zach Galifianakis heavily but when I'm posted up in the shower all emotional like Drake you know what I'm thinking of not [ __ ] Zach Galifianakis I'm thinking about Jake Gyllenhaal pause that guy's a pretty good actor I wonder what he's doing right now you get what I'm saying yes well I like bunny girl senpai I'm not gonna be thinking about it in 3 months from now 2019 needed it's violet ever Garden its maiden abyss and I think surprisingly we got about two or three of those Demon Slayer and Vinland Saga but the one anime I was actually excited for even after reading the manga one of the few anime that didn't feel like work for a video was B stars and I know a lot of you were thinking oh he's [ __ ] and while I may very well be [ __ ] believe it or not it's actually not because I think B stars is the best anime in the last two years I've actually had like three or four people hit me up saying the same thing that for anime you recommended ya actually checked it out it's kind of heat ya know she goes right B stars has mystery a little bit of action romance insane character development it's all there with a little something for everyone so whether you're brand new to anime maybe you don't even watch anime or you're just so jaded from hell that sick of consuming mediocre content in hopes of something better you have to try out B stars three stars takes place in a world filled with anthropomorphic animals the two major races being carnivores which are several times stronger and more violent than the herbivores their veggie eating counterparts this kind of sets up a racial divide between the two races which is only intensified as a herbivore at our main characters school gets eaten BAM mystery moving on turns out the guy who got murdered was real good friends with Lugosi so he takes it upon himself to find the murderer but what's interesting about B stars is that instead of having this carry the plot they totally put it on the back burner for the next season instead for the most part you get a super interesting guy who's placed in a super interesting living breathing world at a cursory glance you might look at B stars and think it was made to pander to furries or Simpson discord but after about five minutes of critical thought that idea is pretty quickly dismissed there's how I'd like to think of it in Lord of the Rings or Skyrim or anything like that they imagine what a world full of races with their own unique physical attributes and cultures would be like so elves dwarves and all that these stars has a very similar thing going on but with animals when you're watching B stars you're guests in this vivid ass world that existed long before you started watching if you're a bird and want to fly you need a flying license eating meat is illegal well you can go to the black market this stuff has already been thought of episode 7 opens with four minutes of a chicken selling her eggs as a part-time job and I [ __ ] love that I shouldn't have been entertained by that but I love getting to know more about the world even more interesting is who inhabits this world the insanely believable group of young adults dealing with their own issues the problem I have with anime is that often times authors aren't imitating life they're imitating other anime you get trope characters that act within these static dialogue trees that we've seen a million times I shouldn't be able to say it's not like I like you wear anything but vodka and instantly you have you know everything about that character with B stars on the other hand that shit's not happening you can't contain real personalities and life experiences inside of a trope Lois initially seems unbearable but you later find out why he acts that way and how cool and calculated he really is he's a dick for a reason and instantly becomes insanely lovable because of it our main character Lugosi battles against his instincts constantly always reevaluating and challenging himself the rabbit is a [ __ ] how often do we see [ __ ] and anime not enough this time first realistic ass caught the hearts of not just myself but everyone I brought this anime up too as well this is all really bolstered by being singing voice acting I would be real anime voice acting all sounds the same to me the delivery the pauses the pitch it all sounds the same every buff guy I might as well be voiced by the same guy every girl modulates her voice to this unnaturally high pitch until they all sound the same to me maybe that's just the Caucasian talking but I feel like most people are in the same boat the unorthodox recording method used in B stars makes an insane difference so unlike most other stuff B stars was recorded before the anime was actually made that's pretty weird but on top of that they set up a bunch of shotgun mics around the room had the characters physically act out the scenes like in Feder the same kind of thing was done in a little game you might have heard of called Red Dead Redemption to which also had some of the best vocal performances I've heard in a minute I know I'm getting off-track so why does this matter well the voice acting came out genuine and real like what I imagined actual Japanese people sound like one thing you might notice is that the delivery's breathy and candid it took these stars to make me realize how something as simple as hearing someone's breath when they speak makes everything sound so much more natural for reference I went back and watched an episode of fate and it's just not the same when the enemy wants to get more personal and contemplative with narration they use this fluffy looking mic I just love that nothing's overacted and I don't have to hear nonde every time something happens sorry about the rant a buddy of mine gave me some info on the mics and I thought it was pretty interesting so far we know B stars as cool because of a the world the the characters and see the characters the co C is so tight the guy is literally just the people's champion he's a lonely an inexperienced guy who starts to learn more about himself with the audience you discover new sides of him that he didn't even know he had by the time the romance starts to bloom even though I hate this thought it was cool to see Lugosi grow and learn more about himself be the drama I've read the manga I know everything that's gonna happen and I'm still biting my thumb at the edge of my seat during some of the most heated parts of the story I remember was that like a big climactic part of an episode and someone knocked on my door and I just yelled what that just made me feel like such a little white boy but the point is it had me invested story-wise it's just compelling it's down the earth it's real that's emotional there's a lot more power there's a lot more points I want to touch on but I realized that you should just experience it yourself I'd also rather not be one of those [ __ ] tubers that ramble for the 10 minute mark but whatever the last thing I want to talk about is the stars production [Music] whether it be sound or visual it's all produced with such finesse and polish I didn't feel this way but you might think it looks a little jank with the CGI I tried watching Ruby and felt like taking a [ __ ] I get it okay these are not the same from a pure visual perspective it looks good it's such a unique style that doesn't confuse being unique with being nice to look at it just does both my favorite part about the animation however wasn't helped beautifully I think they adapted the style and brought to life some of my favorite scenes in the manga it's the body language you get a lot of things that I don't think are conveyed very often in 2d animation weight for example when Lugosi is beating the dog [ __ ] out of someone you feel that when someone gets tackled it feels like it could be in a world star fight comp then there's a little facial expressions the slight nuances and the character's expressions were able to match those in the voice acting and really bring out the best in each other when the tiger is mocking a girl he had sex with his body language reflects that when there's a heated argument or something the characters faces might subtly change and give you a little insight on their feelings like real humans and that's how it should be editing is also we innovative and cool to look at you might get a split screen effect to track someone's eye movement just keep track of how they edit a lot of the scenes when you're watching my only complaint is that the action towards the end is a bit weak and looked way cooler in the manga and finally the music it slaps I never watch openings I don't speak Mandarin why would I want to listen to a song in Mandarin but every once in a while something so sonically pleasing that I just can't ignore it even visually it's not just a bunch of anime characters doing spider-man poses and I respect that heavily the whole soundtrack is just one massive vibe I've been listening to OST while typing the script and totally forgot it was anime music for the most part you'll be getting that really relaxing jazz stuff occasionally you might get hit with some accordion music there's a crap beat somewhere and they're just a really dynamic and versatile soundtrack every single track is noteworthy I'm being serious there's at least five times while watching the anime that I had to pause and record the time that a beautiful song is playing the beautiful thing about B stars is not that you're watching it for the romance not that you're watching it for the world or the drama it's that even if you have no interest in one of those things you can enjoy nearly every other aspect of the show the art is immersive and sucsy win the characters and dialogue make you feel cozy and at home it boasts a powerful soundtrack that complements the lowest lows or the highest highs I [ __ ] love B stars I wish I could wear some merch but that's just absolutely not happening anyway whether you're brand new to anime maybe you're an absolute Chad who can't stand it or your heart and veteran there's just something about this show that I think most people can get down if I scratch my balls all day and watch things with cool fights because I like cool fights yet even I surprisingly found this to be my favorite manga series and one of my favorite anime ever made give it three episodes if you're not feeling it for whatever reason it's time to move on I mean if you don't like it you don't like it everyone hyped up violet ever garden but between you and I that
